Dark and Darker Early Access Season 9 Face the Inferno Release Date, Rogue & Ranger & Dungeon Reworks, New Squire Royale Mode, and More

    Posted: Apr 27, 2026Views: 189

As the last week of April, this week holds significant importance for many games and their player bases, as numerous titles are rolling out new updates or seasons, and Dark and Darker is no exception.

Although the game remains in Early Access, it has already completed eight seasons within this phase, maintaining a relatively consistent update schedule. Now, Season 9 is poised to launch at the end of April.

In this article, we will combine all known information and the official teaser trailer to walk you through the key features and changes introduced in this season, helping you adapt to the new update as quickly as possible.

Dark and Darker Early Access Season 9 Face the Inferno Release Date, Rogue & Ranger & Dungeon Reworks, New Squire Royale Mode, and More

    Season 9 release date

The new season is scheduled to go live on April 28th. It is important to note that Season 8 will conclude on the 27th; therefore, if you have any unclaimed Season 8 rewards, be sure to claim them before time runs out!

Typically, the interval between Dark and Darker season updates ranges from 3 to 4 months. Consequently, Season 9 is projected to wrap up sometime between July and August.

    Season 9 overview

While the official game website has yet to release a comprehensive announcement detailing the contents of Season 9, we can already piece together a fairly complete picture of the season based on the teaser trailer released two days ago and insights from previous developer Q&A sessions.

The theme for Early Access Season 9 has been officially designated as Face the Inferno. Furthermore, starting with this season, the cycle for every future Dark and Darker season will be fixed at exactly three months, rather than fluctuating between 3 and 4 months as was the case previously.

This means that season resets will occur more frequently and on a shorter cycle. Consequently, some players have begun speculating whether this signals an imminent full release of the game; however, there has been no definitive confirmation regarding this matter.

As a balancing measure, with each seasonal reset, the developers will implement specific adjustments and changes to two particular character classes. For Season 9, the two classes receiving these updates are Rogue and Ranger.

During interviews, the developers even offered a sneak peek into the future, revealing that the class updates for the next season will focus on Cleric and Wizard, followed subsequently by Bard and Warlock.

Other changes introduced in Season 9 include a complete overhaul of Inferno 3rd-floor dungeon, the introduction of Squire Royale, an evolved version of Squire to Riches mode, and various other QoL improvements.

This means that in Season 9, even if you do not play as one of the two classes undergoing major reworks, you will still have the opportunity to enjoy a fresh or optimized Dark and Darker gold farming experience.

    Rogue changes

In Dark and Darker, Rogue is the quintessential high-risk, high-reward class. While possessing low base health and a heavy reliance on gear, the class excels at stealth and burst damage.

Building upon this foundation, Season 9 introduces three new abilities: Dualstrike, Shadowstep, and Sneak Attack; as well as four new perks: Veil of Shadows, Trickster, Lethal Mark, and Creep.

Broadly speaking, these changes focus on closing the distance between combatants. Take Shadowstep, for instance: this is designed to function as a blink-style teleport ability, allowing you to warp to a shadowed location to quickly bridge the gap to an enemy.

This effect provides you with a viable counterplay option when facing ranged opponents, a solution that is certainly far fairer than simply granting the ability to turn invisible outright.

Furthermore, a primary objective of Season 9 is to fine-tune the movement speed mechanics, specifically, to reduce the dominance that the movement speed attribute currently holds within the game.

To this end, the developers have removed the bonus movement speed modifiers previously attached to gear affixes and have significantly reduced the movement speed buffs that certain classes, not just Rogue, could previously gain through their skills.

    Ranger changes

This class receives new mechanics, including two new abilities, Overdraw and Explosive Shot, as well as four new perks: Windfletch, First Aid, Point-Blank Expert, and Longshot Expert.

Among these, Explosive Shot is slated for a rework and enhancement; it will now incorporate a magic damage component, effectively transforming Ranger into a character that functions almost like a spellcaster.

Consequently, utilizing this ability may require you to stack specific attributes to boost stats such as magic damage output.

As for Overdraw, the mechanic likely involves drawing back and charging your bowstring; if you're lucky, it may also grant a beneficial buff, such as increased arrow velocity or a bonus to physical damage.

The developers have stated that another key focus for Ranger in Season 9 is balancing the combat dynamic between ranged Rangers and melee classes.

These addresses the current issue where other players are sometimes instantly eliminated before they even have a chance to close the distance to Ranger.

Accordingly, if a melee class wishes to bridge the gap to a ranged Ranger, they must now accept a significantly higher level of risk; this high-risk design philosophy will also be applied to other game mechanics, such as spellcasting.

    3rd-floor dungeon Inferno

As a direct reflection of Season 9 theme, Inferno stands as one of the most challenging third-tier dungeons in the game. It is accessible via the red staircase or portal located in Crypts, the floor immediately above it, which, in turn, is entered from Ruins.

Inferno is a high-risk PvE dungeon featuring dangerous boss encounters; however, it also serves as your primary source for acquiring gold and high-tier loot.

Upon entering Inferno, you find yourself in a map composed of various hazardous modules, including a Ritual Room that conceals a special iron door required for specific quests.

In light of this, Season 9 introduces several optimizations to the dungeon. Foremost among these is the addition of new boss and enemy types, alongside a visual overhaul of certain existing monster models.

The primary objective of these visual adjustments is to better align with the overall environmental atmosphere of the new map, as the general aesthetic of Inferno dungeon itself is set to undergo a complete renovation.

Furthermore, Season 9 will see Inferno undergo a cleanup pass; superfluous ground clutter, such as scattered skulls and loose stones, that frequently caused unexpected performance hiccups will be removed.

Historically, monster responsiveness within Inferno dungeon has suffered from slight latency; consequently, Dark and Darker is expected to address this issue by refining the behavioral patterns of the dungeon's creatures.

Additionally, approximately 80% of XP you have earned at Inferno difficulty level will carry over directly into the new season.

    Squire Royale

For Season 9, Squire to Riches has been transformed into Squire Royale, a mode dedicated to delivering an intense and thrilling Battle Royale experience.

In terms of gameplay, you begin equipped only with the gear provided by a squire. You must then scavenge for supplies and strive to survive within an ever-shrinking safe zone, engaging in fast-paced PvPvE combat encounters.

    QoL improvements

The most notable update in this category is the introduction of a new ping feature. Based on recent Developer Q&A sessions, other improvements are expected to include the implementation of certain prerequisites or thresholds for the quest system, designed to foster a sense of progressive pacing throughout the season.

Additionally, starting in Season 9, Squire gear for all classes will be unlocked by default; this means you will no longer be required to complete specific quests to gain access to this foundational equipment.

Other QoL updates include optimizations to tedious tasks, such as reducing the number of extra clicks required, streamlining operational steps, and introducing a new automatic inventory sorting feature, among others.

In short, compared to previous iterations, Dark and Darker Season 9 delivers more than just new content; its extensive system optimizations will fundamentally enhance your overall gaming experience! Stay tuned!

Dark and Darker Season 8 Focuses on Speed And Accessibility | But Veterans May Not Like The Result

    Posted: Jan 28, 2026Views: 1157

Dark and Dark Season 8 is currently the most anticipated content for players, with the official promotion for the new season only beginning shortly before its release.

Most of the information currently comes from the developer Q&A, which reveals a wealth of information regarding game mechanics, class balance, new content, and future plans. Let's take a look at whether Season 8 will be exciting or mediocre.

Dark and Darker Season 8 Focuses on Speed And Accessibility | But Veterans May Not Like The Result

    Global Changes

The developers have removed All Attributes and True Damage affixes, unifying them into Add Damage affix.

HP Bonus affixes will no longer appear on equipment, and the headshot multiplier will be reverted from the current 1.75 to 1.5. These changes combined may further reduce player survival time in the game, making combat faster and more deadly.

All weapons will have some form of blocking or parrying ability, and blocking will gain more advantages. This may allow players to deal with multiple attackers simultaneously, reducing the excessive stun after being blocked.

The official announcement mentions adjustments to jumping and some movement mechanics, which some players may have overlooked, but it's actually a very important change because movement in the current Dark and Darker mode isn't very smooth.

Switching weapons and using healing items after being hit significantly slows you down. Season 8 aims to address this, allowing for more maneuverability when repositioning, resulting in smoother character movement.

    Maps And Mode Adjustments

Goblin Caves will add a second layer map, and it is a lava lamp area as players predicted. This smaller map will contain a new boss called Fire Colossus and many new monsters.

Additionally, Ruins map will be expanded from 5x5 to 7x7. This is to reduce the chances of players being sniped and raiders quickly looting and escaping through the red portal. Meanwhile, blue extraction points may be added with an interactive timer mechanism, automatically resetting after a period of inactivity.

High Roller PvE mode will be removed, as the developers acknowledge its poor performance. The limited-time mode, Squire to Riches, is a popular choice among players.

Arena will undergo changes, removing sub-bosses and potentially limiting gear to Epic quality. Goblin Merchant system will also return and be linked to the Affinity system. Players who complete all quests may receive a 100% item recycling chance.

    Class And Skill Balance

    Warlock

The most significant change in this class update is the complete rework of Torture Mastery skill. Previously, Warlocks could restore full health when hitting targets with Curse Pain or Power Siphon.

After the change, Torture Mastery will only restore regenerable health. Players must now consume health potions to increase their maximum regenerable health. This change means that Warlocks will be significantly less survivable in prolonged combat, potentially making it difficult for them to engage in one-on-one battles against classes like Rangers. This effectively renders Torture Mastery Warlock gameplay obsolete, and the lack of any compensatory buffs to Warlocks could lead to a sharp drop in their play rate.

    Skills

Regarding new skills, this update primarily focuses on Warriors and Barbarians.

    • Barbarians will gain a new skill, Whirlwind, a first-person spinning attack. Additionally, Barbarians will be able to throw any weapon.
    • Warriors will gain a new skill called Fortify Ground and a Disarm skill. Disarm effect is considered potentially very powerful, even unbalanced.

Druids' Panther and Chicken forms' jumping abilities will be removed, and the instant shapeshifting mechanic will also be canceled. The developers have confirmed that changes to Monk, new Wizard spells, new Bard items, and Rogue classes will not be implemented this season. However, Rogue's invisibility and the Wizard's instant casting mechanics will be retained.

    Quality of Life Update

The developers acknowledged that the game's underlying code is extremely messy, causing issues such as dungeon lag and the delayed addition of the quiver feature. They are working to improve this, but prioritizing the release of new content.

Due to the excessive nerf to Artifact drop rates in the previous season, players abandoned boss battles and instead acquired gear by killing other players. While the developers acknowledged this, their adjustments were perplexing. They plan to further reduce drop rates in Season 8, but slightly increase the quality of rewards per drop, which is unlikely to resolve the issues plausible in Season 7.

Marketplace and Trading Post will not be added, but a Workshop-like system may be introduced in the future, allowing players to dismantle items and craft equipment.

A basic version of auto sort function will be added to the game, and the in-game map will display more real-time information, such as resource point trends. Solo Self-Found mode will be extended to three weeks, during which players will be unable to trade items.

The developers stated they will continue to work on narrowing the gear gap, aiming to give newcomers with limited time the opportunity to compete with veterans who have thousands of hours of experience. The official goal is clearly to attract more casual players, but some core players will undoubtedly be dissatisfied.

Overall, aside from the extension of Solo Self-Found mode, most of the changes in Season 8 are disappointing. The core gameplay loop remains unchanged, raid players have not been effectively curbed, and the diversity of class gameplay may be reduced due to nerfs and a lack of new content. How well players will accept Season 8 remains to be seen after it's released.

Dark and Darker Season 8 Release Date, New Map And Mechanism Changes | Could This Break Everything?

    Posted: Jan 26, 2026Views: 1639

Dark and Darker has quietly announced that Season 8 will begin on January 29th. Unlike previous season announcements, the official announcements have been tight-lipped about the new season's content, revealing very little information.

However, we can still infer the general update content of Season 8 based on the scattered clues released on the official Discord and discussions in the player community.

Dark and Darker Season 8 Release Date, New Map And Mechanism Changes | Could This Break Everything?

    Volcano Map

Regarding the new map, we first need to review Season 6. Its High Roller rewards, such as Seawalker and Black Despair Banner, clearly have a sailor and pirate theme, foreshadowing Water Map in Season 7.

The rewards in High Roller mode of Season 7 offer a clue:

    • Neophyte: Bondage
    • Apprentice: 500 Dark and Darker Gold
    • Wanderer: Gold Coins Bag × 4
    • Pathfinder: Ifrit Head Mask
    • Voyager: Volcano Campfire
    • Exemplar: Stonekick Dance emote
    • Demigod: Ember Flame Sash

These reward names strongly suggest a fire and lava theme, indicating that Dark and Darker Season 8 might feature a volcano map.

A more direct hint comes from the game's community manager, Grayson. His bio states, "The floor is starting to get warm," and he also included a volcano emoji in his New Year's address on January 1st. Season 8 is the first update of 2026, so this emoji certainly has its significance.

    Speculation about the map

Since the official information has remained silent, the specific form of the new map mainly comes from player community speculation. Possible forms include:

    • A Standalone Volcano Map: A completely new, standalone floor themed around lava and volcanic environments.
    • A second level of Water Map: The current Water Map has a large cavity in the center, suggesting a possible volcanic eruption that could create a new area.
    • Goblin Caves (Hell Version): As the only regular map currently without a Hell version, Goblin Caves may receive a volcano-themed expansion.
    • Dungeon Level 3: Continuing the existing 3-level dungeon system, a volcanic lava layer will be added.

    Mechanism Changes

In addition to the new map, based on past public discussions with the developers, Season 8 is expected to include several major mechanic adjustments aimed at improving the gameplay experience.

    Gathering Hall

The development team has repeatedly confirmed that they are developing an in-game social hub, Gathering Hall. This will be a space similar to the earlier Preparation Hall, where players can gather with teammates, test equipment using training dummies, and engage in duels.

This feature may form the basis for future introductions to Guild system, raid boss battles, and raid bosses, although its release has been delayed for several seasons.

    Addressing The Rat Problem

Rat players refer to the negative gameplay behavior of players using stealth or miniaturization to sneak into combat areas and steal equipment from others. Community manager Grayson has confirmed that Season 8 will permanently remove the rat infestation. While the specific measures are still unknown, this is definitely good news for players who want to play normally.

    Removal of The Circle

Season 7 received mixed reviews from players. The main criticism focused on the underwater combat. In a developer Q&A, the project lead admitted that after experiencing the water map, the team deeply understood the negative impact of Circle mechanism on boss battles and high-difficulty challenges.

Therefore, the official plan is to remove Circle from High Roller in the future and explore new designs to maintain its original positive role of forcing players to move. This change may be accompanied by a major overhaul of the entire escape system and will eventually be applied to both normal and advanced modes.

If the volcano map is released, the spreading lava may replace Circle as the new mechanism to drive away players and restrict their movement.

    Arena and Reward System

Season 8 is expected to officially introduce seasonal rewards for Arena mode. In previous seasons, Arena tested many highly experimental map modules to fully test balance under various extreme conditions before rewards were implemented. Players also expect the new season to provide a fairer Arena map that balances the experience for both ranged and melee classes based on feedback.

    Class Balance

The development team has formed a dedicated balance group to systematically adjust the game. The developers confirmed that the goal for Season 8 is to introduce new abilities and perks to as many existing classes as possible to encourage more diverse gameplay.

The developers also acknowledged that some classes currently have significant issues, such as Druid's excessive mobility, Warlock's overly nerfed state, the need to adjust Rogue's Invisibility mechanic, and Cleric's Divine Strike gear being too overpowered in melee combat.

    Equipment System

Many players believe that the weakening of secondary stats on current equipment, coupled with the removal of high single-stat bonuses from Legendary gear, limits build diversity and freedom.

Furthermore, the loot pool contains too many overly targeted stats, such as Undead Damage Bonus and Demon Damage Bonus, diluting the drop rate of high-quality gear and negatively impacting the experience of obtaining good equipment from dungeons.

Players hope for either strengthened secondary stats or the restoration of the high single-stat bonuses from Legendary gear to increase build diversity and gear appeal. However, the developers haven't announced any plans to address this, and they may begin researching solutions after Season 8's release.

In short, Season 8 offers many exciting features, but won't bring significant changes to the game; it will likely only extend existing gameplay. This is precisely why some players are worried that Dark and Darker's bland content will lead to further player attrition.

Dark And Darker Season 7 Best Solo Classes Ranked | Low Gear, Rare Gear, And High Roller Guide

    Posted: Nov 21, 2025Views: 3286

Dark and Darker, a hardcore multiplayer co-op dungeon crawler with a medieval dark fantasy theme, boasts unique gameplay. Players choose different classes to enter dungeons solo or in cooperation with others, scavenging resources and successfully escaping.

Multiplayer co-op is significantly easier than solo exploration, so this discussion focuses on which classes perform best in solo play in Season 7.

Dark And Darker Season 7 Best Solo Classes Ranked | Low Gear, Rare Gear, And High Roller Guide

    Low-Gear Solo Mode

    Cleric (Tier S)

Cleric's strength might surprise some players. With Divine Protection and Smite skills, and wearing plate armor, Cleric gains extremely high Physical Damage Reduction (PDR) while dealing massive damage. He is the strongest one-on-one melee class with low gear, perhaps even surpassing Fighter.

    Fighter (Tier S)

Fighter is a Jack of all trades class. He can wear plate armor for high physical damage reduction, or cloth armor. He can also play as a slayer for high damage and speed. In short, he can use almost any weapon and armor type, and through skills and perks, he can achieve good stats, making him very versatile and powerful even with low gear.

    Druid (Tier S)

The Druid's transformation ability's base stats are enough to overwhelm most enemies, and he possesses extremely high mobility, requiring almost no gear support.

    Sorcerer (Tier S)

Sorcerer damage primarily relies on skill cooldowns, which are unaffected by gear. Therefore, even with basic gear, he can deal significant damage. However, it requires a high level of skill to play Sorcerer.

    Barbarian (Tier A)

Many players believe Barbarian is very strong with basic gear because of his exceptionally high damage. However, Barbarian is slow, and this slowness only improves with skills like Blood Exchange or War Sacrifice.

    Warlock (Tier A)

Warlock is a very interesting and powerful class. His strength lies not in excelling in any one area, but in his versatility. He can wear plate or cloth armor like a warrior, and he can also use magic. This versatility makes him very powerful and fun in single-player mode.

    Rogue (Tier B)

Rogue is a very cool class. Even with basic gear, he has excellent movement speed, but unfortunately, his damage is very disappointing; you can hardly kill enemies.

    Bard (Tier B)

Bard greatly needs the stat boosts from high-level gear to be effective. With basic gear, he has nothing and cannot effectively utilize his versatility, making him weak in combat.

    Ranger (Tier C)

Ranger deals very little damage with only basic gear, is slow, and has a long draw time. Even if you hit an enemy, if they are blocked by a shield, you won't deal any damage. Plus, you have to carry arrows every time you go out, which is an extra burden.

    Wizard (Tier D)

Wizard is similar to Ranger, but even worse. He needs casting speed and true magical damage, but low gear doesn't provide these stats. He also lacks sufficient knowledge to support a large number of spells, resulting in very weak combat.

    Rare Gear Solo Mode

Assuming each class has a complete set of rare-quality gear, at this stage, the strength of all classes is improved, making them all playable. And every class can gain key stats from gear, class balance feels better, and it tests player skill more.

    Fighter (Tier S)

Fighter receives further attribute boosts on top of what he already has, so he can still remain in the Tier S tier.

    Barbarian (Tier S)

Barbarian gains a significant amount of attack speed and movement speed from gear, making him a true beast, almost unmatched by any other class.

    Druid And Sorcerer (Tier S)

These two classes remain top-tier. Druid can still dominate the dungeon, while Sorcerer, with true magical damage and Cooldown Reduction stats, can suppress almost all other classes.

    Warlock (Tier S)

Warlocks already possess a powerful skill set, and now with the added damage bonus from gear, they become even more well-rounded and powerful.

    Cleric (Tier A)

Cleric is strong with basic gear, but once other classes have decent stats and skills, Cleric's skills become less reliable, especially against opponents like Warlocks or Sorcerers, making them vulnerable to being kited.

    Rogue (Tier A)

Rogues aren't as strong in PvP as Barbarians or gun-wielding Clerics, but outside of combat, their high movement speed allows them to take down some regular enemies in three or four hits. Also, a full Rogue build requires very little Dark and Darker gold.

    Ranger & Wizard & Bard (Tier B)

These classes have gained strength with the help of stats, but overall they are still not as strong as top-tier melee classes. However, they already possess considerable combat power and playability.

    High Roller Solo

Higher Roller mode contain more Dark and Darker gold and gear, but are also riskier. Most players are at this tier, where you'll encounter many top-tier players.

    Druid (Tier S)

Druid has never been weak from start to finish. It dominates melee combat and can also counter spellcasters like Sorcerers due to its Silence ability and highest mobility, along with excellent base stats.

    Warlock (Tier S)

Warlock is on par with Druid as one of the strongest classes in the game. It not only deals high damage but also possesses kiting potential, melee potential, and ranged potential, making it very well-rounded and powerful.

    Barbarian (Tier S)

Barbarian is the next top-tier class after Druid. After being nerfed, Barbarians are almost non-threatening except for top-tier Druids, Clerics, and Warlocks, making it a very strong and easy-to-learn class.

    Rogue (Tier S)

Despite the nerf to throwing weapons, their stealth and ambush capabilities remain extremely deadly, capable of easily eliminating top-tier geared players if a successful ambush is achieved.

    Sorcerer (Tier A)

Sorcerers are a very annoying and difficult opponent in High Roller, threatening all classes. However, playing a Sorcerer requires high skill, so their strength isn't overpowered, placing them in a reasonable position.

    Cleric (Tier A)

Sorcerers remain a top-tier endgame class, especially in melee. However, the problem is that in High Roller you'll encounter more ranged classes, making Clerics easily kited, thus lowering their ranking.

    Fighter (Tier A)

Fighter is also good, strong in melee combat, but its strength is suppressed by the currently overpowered Rogue and Warlock.

    Range (Tier B)

Range can be very strong if the player is highly skilled, but this class is not friendly to average players, so it is not common in High Roller.

    Bard (Tier B)

Even in High Roller, Bard is not very playable, and top Bard players play it in struggle.

Solo players can refer to the above to choose classes, but if you can find stable teammates, a class like Bard that provides buffs might be more useful.

Dark And Darker Season 7 Gold Farming Guide | Best Methods In New Map, Mode And More

    Posted: Nov 03, 2025Views: 1875

Although Dark And Darker is still in Early Access, that doesn't stop you from enjoying the new season. Season 7, launched on September 23rd, brings new playable content including a new map, a new PvP mode, and more mechanics.

These new modes not only enrich your gaming experience but also mean you have more ways to earn Dark And Darker gold, but this is based on your understanding of the content. Don't worry, we'll introduce how to farm gold!

Dark And Darker Season 7 Gold Farming Guide | Best Methods In New Map, Mode And More

Preparing For Season 7 Gold Farming

First, you need to know that your character's level, items, inventory, and many other aspects will be reset upon entering the new season, so farming gold from scratch is unavoidable.

Whenever you start your Season 7 journey, you can claim a Welcome Delivery pack containing various items that can help you in the early stages of the season from Expressman's Post Express service tab. Don't forget!

    New Map: Ship Graveyard

This newly added map not only opens up a new explorable area but also marks the first chapter of the new Blue Maelstrom campaign. You can teleport there by finding the coastal waypoints on the main map.

For easier understanding, you can think of it as a dungeon filled with various enemies and new bosses. The terrain is complex and narrow, and visual effects that occasionally reduce visibility occur.

You can earn gold or other good loot by completing quests or defeating enemies here. The new enemy types and bosses are as follows:

    New Enemies:

    • Sea Wraiths
    • Barnacle Zombies
    • Skeleton Sailors
    • Tide callers

    New Bosses:

    • The Drowned Captain
    • The Leviathan Spawn

    Farming Gold In This Map

To maximize your gold farming efficiency on this map, you should plan a route focusing on Captain's Quarters and Cargo Holds, searching for all sunken treasures along the way.

Generally, it's recommended to first venture deep into the trench, loot all the treasure there, and then continue northwest. Eventually, you'll find a shipwreck in the center of the map, containing approximately 15 treasure pillars.

While more difficult bosses reward more gold, they also take more time. Therefore, repeatedly farming higher-level new enemies, such as Skeleton Sailors or Tide Callers, will accumulate gold much faster.

It's worth mentioning that during your exploration of Ship Graveyard, you'll encounter various marine creatures, such as sharks and molluscs hidden in salt vines, and you might even find Mermaid Coffins. Killing/opening them will also yield gold.

New PvP Mode: Squires To Riches

This PvP mode is primarily team-based. Whether you team up with strangers or friends, your team will be randomly assigned to a dungeon, and all players will initially only have low-level gear.

As the battle progresses, you'll encounter more loot, including replaceable higher-level gear. Your goal is to defeat other teams and the ever-present Dark Swarm, collect loot, and claim a limited number of random portals to escape.

Therefore, while Squires to Riches doesn't have a dedicated timer, the ever-expanding Dark Swarm and increasingly dangerous other players mean that exploration in this mode is far from endless.

How To Earn Gold In This Mode?

To farm enough gold in this mode, you must ensure your team survives long enough to venture into dangerous areas, defeat enemies and competing teams, and claim rare chests.

In addition, many random chests are scattered throughout the dungeon. While they offer a small amount of gold compared to the ultimate reward, they add up.

To extend your team's survival time and increase the total rewards you earn per run of Squires to Riches, you need to:

    • Be familiar with the dungeon layout, especially the locations of important bosses and chests.
    • Ensure your teammates are reliable.
    • Immediately replace your gear with suitable pieces as soon as you acquire them to enhance your character's combat capabilities.
    • Don't linger in combat; retreat promptly as Dark Swarm expands.
    • Plan your escape route and portal spawn points to ensure a timely departure.

    New Mechanic: Faustian Bargain

If you die while exploring a dungeon and have accumulated enough XP, you can unlock this experimental mechanic. Interact and trade with Dealmaker to transform into a monster in the game and hunt other players.

The main reward for this mode is Antiquated Coins, which can be used to exchange for gear or crafting materials at Dealmaker, or directly for Dark And Darker gold if needed.

To earn more Antiquated Coins, you need to complete the daily quests posted by Dealmaker to increase your affinity with him. This will make your monster stronger after death, allowing you to kill more players faster.

Compared to the previous two mechanics, this one is less suitable for farming regular gold. Its main value lies in enhancing the game's PvP elements and re-playability. However, allowing the two currencies to be interchangeable does indeed benefit the trading cycle in game.

Other New Content In Season 7

In addition to the playable updates mentioned above, Season 7 brings dozens of new items to Dark And Darker and updates several long-unused skills and perks. Combined, these will give you more options when crafting builds this season.

Other noteworthy updates are for Adventure mode. First, rank progress is now uniform regardless of your team size; others taking a break won't affect your progress.

Dark And Darker Early Access Season 7 Trailer Preview: What New Enemies And Items Are There?

    Posted: Aug 28, 2025Views: 3645

Dark and Darker's EA Season 7 will release on September 23, 2025. With the arrival of a new season, everything players currently own will be wiped out: your Dark and Darker gold, levels, and collected items will all be lost.

Dark and Darker EA has experienced significant player churn in the year since its release, with many players and streamers reporting that the current content lacks reward and freshness, feeling more like repetitive tasks and tiresome.

However, the new season is said to return to its roots, making it as fun as the first season. A trailer for Season 7 was recently released, revealing that the next season will revolve around a shipwreck and feature new monsters, enemies, and weapons.

Dark And Darker Early Access Season 7 Trailer Preview: What New Enemies And Items Are There?

    EA 6.9

Before Season 7 officially launches, there will be a brief EA 6.9, a four-week mini-season transitional update. It is not a major update with any major new content. However, character levels, items, inventory, quest progress, and more will still be reset.

In addition to new equipment and rewards, the good news is that Dark and Darker gold required to unlock additional storage slots has been significantly reduced. Additionally, significant balance changes have been made to Druids and Mages, along with adjustments to the item stat system. Players can consider this a fast-paced, data-gathering season, with major new content expected in Season 7, starting on September 23rd.

    Trailer Content

The new map features a pirate-themed shipwreck environment, including shipwrecks and underwater sections, complete with fog effects. The map appears more open and fluid than before, potentially moving away from the rigid grid-like modular wall design of the past and perhaps with a change in how boundaries are determined.

    Shipwreck Section

The trailer shows the shipwreck's masts, various above-and-underwater structures, coral, anemones, seagrass, and more. You and your party can explore the shipwreck, but you'll obviously also encounter enemies like pirates and murlocs.

Some monsters will throw weapons like Francesca's throwing axes instead of using bows. New pirate humanoid monsters. They attack with a classic pirate-style scimitar with a domed gauntlet. This weapon is also a melee weapon available to players, as the player in the trailer also attacks with a wooden shield in one hand and a scimitar in the other.

You'll notice that the monsters' animations seem to have improved somewhat, as the developers are reportedly heavily revising or even reworking their model assets, including rerigging and reanimating them. This suggests they're focusing on enhancing the game's originality and quality rather than simply using off-the-shelf assets.

    Underwater

The underwater areas aren't just for decoration, because players can swim around. Furthermore, there are glowing anemones and vertically floating coffins in the underwater areas. These coffins could be decorative items, loot points, or monster spawn points.

This may indicate that players will need to swim between islands or structures to move around, dealing with monsters along the way. This suggests that shipwrecks aren't the only setting in Season 7, as previously hinted at in leaks.

While the trailer hints that Season 7 may include underwater combat, possibly even an underwater boss battle, the trailer doesn't show any underwater combat action.

    Unpacked Content

Besides the trailer, players have also gotten a sneak peek at Season 7's game assets through unpacking the game. Season 7 features a wide variety of creatures. They may not all be enemies, and some may be just environmental creatures.

    Marine Creatures

There are a variety of new underwater resources, including swordfish, great white sharks, piranhas, large jellyfish, giant hermit crabs, octopuses, sea urchins, and squid.

These may be enemies or supplies. If they are supplies, Season 7 may also feature a fishing system. After catching a large fish, you can return to extraction and exchange it for Dark and Darker gold. Of course, these fish may also be used for cooking or as temporary supplies.

    Humanoid Enemies

Season 7 apparently features a number of pirate enemies, primarily melee types wielding scimitars and ranged types that may throw knives and axes.

Murlocs are also a major enemy in Season 7, with types wielding maces, mages wielding ceremonial staffs, and harpooners. There's also a humanoid creature resembling a siren or mermaid, with many fangs in its mouth, which clearly falls into this category.

    Elite Enemies (Or Bosses)

The unpacked content includes an enemy similar to a Crocodile Man, which resembles Skeksis from The Dark Crystal or Renekton from League of Legends. It has one normal arm and a ball and chain in the other.

Another pirate is a pirate who looks similar to Udyr from League of Legends (at least he looks like a pirate). He also has only one arm, and his other hand is equipped with a knife instead of a hook.

    New Items

Besides the pirate scimitars mentioned above, there's also a new boat model, which may serve as a new extraction point or interactable object.

The above is the information about Dark and Darker Early Access Season 7. This season may give you the feeling of playing for the first time, but we still need to wait and see how it performs.

Dark And Darker: A Complete Guide To Skeleton Warlord Boss!

    Posted: Jan 04, 2024Views: 7536

Welcome to our complete Dark and Darker Skeleton Warlord boss fight guide.

In this guide, everything you need to know about the boss’ attacks, mechanics, locations, and more is provided. Without further ado, let’s see how to defeat Warlord.

Dark And Darker: A Complete Guide To Skeleton Warlord Boss

    Location

The location of this boss is fairly simple, as every boss on Inferno map has a chance to spawn there.

The major difference from Skeleton Warlord is that they can only spawn in non-High Roller game mode. This is because these bosses feel easier than others. Therefore, players who are new to Inferno map boss battles can easily enter!

Skeleton Warlord has some mechanics and abilities to note. But with a little preparation and research, this battle is pretty simple. A boss battle begins whenever the player enters one of the 8 entrances.

Dark And Darker: Skeleton Warlord Location

    Attack

Next, let’s talk about each attack mechanism of Skeleton Warlord.

    • Summon Skeleton Rogues: This is a skill used by Skeleton Warlord between phases to summon multiple Skeleton Rogues to attack you.
    • Bone Prison: Skeleton Warlord will stand within his aura and after reaching 5 stacks of debuffs, he will trap you in a Bone Prison.
    • Throwing Knives: This is a throwing enchanted knife that is regularly used to catch players from a distance. It deals with 25 points of physical damage.
    • Soul Steal: Skeleton will use the souls of dead players to create a shield for itself, absorbing 250 points of damage.
    • Realm of Domination: With this attack, Warlord can paralyze players within AOE range for 6 seconds.
    • Teleport Attacks: This will cause Warlord to teleport behind a random player and attack with his sword.

Dark And Darker: Skeleton Warlord Boss Guide

    Strategy

The first thing we should do when entering Skeleton Warlord boss fight is buff. Clerics and Bards pre-casting their protection and damage buffs are key to starting a fight. Meanwhile, it is also important to spend Dark and Darker Gold in advance to purchase Potion of Protection.

Once the battle begins, Warlord will summon his Skeleton Rogues and cast a shield on himself. You can find chains leading to bosses on these Rogues. To lower the shield, you need to kill Rogues. If we do not kill Rogues in time, the chain connected to the boss will break.

In the first phase, Clerics is best pushed directly to Warlord and use Holy Purification. Doing so will hit each Rogues, making it easier for the team to kill them.

Once Skeleton Warlord’s barrier is down, he will begin to initiate Onslaught. This is where Fighter with the shield becomes most important. They can block most of Warlord’s attacks by holding down block while raising their head slightly!

In the meantime, be aware of who Warlord is targeting and his tendency to teleport. So prepare accordingly. Have one player tank and the rest DPS.

After the damage phase ends, Warlord will return to the first phase and his barrier will rise, pushing Warlord into the second phase.

At this point, Warlord behaves exactly as it did during the first damage phase. Therefore, the method of dealing damage to the boss is the same as in the first damage phase. Rinse and repeat a few times and you’ll kill the boss!

Dark and Darker: Killing the New Boss Skeleton Warlord & The Loot Drops

    Reward

If you and your party have defeated Skeleton Warlord, the dungeon’s loot is yours! Warlord will drop a total of 4 pieces of loot. Plus, there’s a treasure here! Treasures are unlimited loot points, as long as your inventory can hold them all!

Hopefully, this complete Skeleton Warlord boss battle guide will successfully help you get all the glory and loot in the dungeon!

Dark And Darker: How To Choose The Best Solo Class?

    Posted: Sep 28, 2023Views: 5539

If you’re a dedicated solo player in Dark and Darker, you’re probably well aware of the importance of choosing the right profession for your adventure. Each class has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, and understanding them is key to maximizing your success as a solo player.

In this solo tier guide, we’ll break down each class, diving into their pros and cons and why you may or may not want to play them solo. We’re going to cover them in order from worst to best. Without further ado, let’s get started.

Dark And Darker: Solo Class Tier List

    D Tier - Wizard

First, let’s talk about the advantages of Wizard. He can use spells such as Fireball and Chain Lightning to cause significant damage to enemies. Meanwhile, he is effective against Fighter builds with high physical damage reduction. Wizard provides useful buffs to the team, such as Invisibility and Haste.

But its shortcomings are also obvious. Wizard requires equipment to function, which can be challenging for beginners. And they deal with very little physical damage, making hand-to-hand combat difficult without equipment. Also, Wizards have some of the lowest health in the game, making them vulnerable.

    C Tier - Ranger

Many solo players like Ranger because he has good mob removal capabilities and can move at a reasonable speed. In addition, his ability to use a variety of weapons also provides players with ideas for new builds.

But Rangers have low health, which makes them vulnerable in combat. And they need Arrow or Bolt management. This means you need to invest more Dark and Darker Gold and time in this class. Also, he is vulnerable to fighter builds with high physical damage reduction.

Dark and Darker: Best Solo Class Tier List For New Players!

    C Tier - Bard

Bard excels in team play, providing powerful buffs to teammates. And they get to wear high-quality gear.

In comparison, Bard’s attack power is relatively weak and cannot be used as the main damage dealer. The limited weapon selection makes it less versatile in combat. So in solo games, Bard as a support can often get you into trouble.

    B Tier - Rogue

Rogue’s movement speed and interaction speed are the fastest of all classes, allowing for fast and flexible gameplay. Also, they can perform magical and physical attacks, making them more adaptable in combat.

Rogue can use Invisibility skill to ambush and escape. This is an immense advantage for solo players. Meanwhile, they can detect traps, speed up map exploration and avoid fatal surprises.

It’s just that Rogue’s health is low, so it’s easy to die from powerful direct attacks. And except for Rapier, Rogue weapons have limited range.

    B Tier - Cleric

As for Cleric, his self-healing is valuable for solo players. And they can wear heavy armor for extra protection. In teamwork, Cleric also provides powerful buffs to heal and resurrect allies.

But his slower attack and interaction speed affect his abilities. And he has limited ranged attack options, relying mostly on spells. As a result, many of Cleric’s abilities are designed for teamwork rather than use in single-player games.

The Best Solo Class In Dark And Darker!

    A Tier - Barbarian

Barbarian has the highest base health in the game. This is a great option for newbies who need extra durability.

In addition, Barbarian also has powerful melee damage. Even with basic weapons, Barbarian deals with significant melee damage, allowing it to destroy enemy creatures.

So, aided by its higher base health and melee damage, it’s relatively easy to upgrade and grind for better gear as a solo player.

We should note that Barbarian’s slow movement speed makes chasing enemies difficult. Also, he lacks ranged attack options. If you can’t close the gap quickly, you’re vulnerable to ranged attackers.

    S Tier - Fighter

Fighter’s high physical damage reduction is very attractive for solo players. Even after the recent nerfs, Fighter can be used to create high physical damage reduction builds.

Moreover, they can use any weapon in the game, including ranged weapons like Bows and Crossbows. In addition, Fighter’s Second Wind can help him restore a large amount of health, although it is a onetime ability.

It’s just that the effectiveness of a fighter’s abilities depends heavily on successful blocking and parrying. This may be challenging for some players. In addition, although Fighter’s physical defense is high, it is weak against magic attacks.

Dark And Darker: How To Choose The Best Solo Class?

    S Tier - Warlock

Finally, for Warlock, his high damage output is definitely the best choice for solo players. Especially high-damage spells like Hellfire, which can clear out enemies quickly. With lifesteal and proper equipment, Warlock can cast unlimited spells.

And his Phantom ability and Corrupted Strike can provide solo players with surprising mobility and extra damage.

But their shortcomings still deserve attention. Warlocks often need good equipment to reach their full potential. Their physical damage is lower when unequipped. Also, they don’t have the highest health, so correct positioning is crucial.

    Final Thoughts

In Dark and Darker, the class you choose will affect your single-player experience. While each class has its pros and cons, solo players should consider their preferred play style and adaptability.

Therefore, Fighter and Warlock are often the first choice for solo adventurers, as they can provide excellent damage output and survivability. However, even lower level professions can be picked up quickly. However, experiment and find the class that best suits your play style. Good luck with your raid!

    How To Find Mystical Gem?

A recent update to Mystical Gem added rare and valuable items in Dark and Darker. To get this gem, you need to pay attention to the following aspects.

Dark And Darker: How To Farm Mystical Gem In High Roller Goblin Cave?

First, you need to pay close attention to Dark and Darker’s official communication channels. Developers frequently provide information about updates, patches, and new projects. Here, they will add High Roller elite enemies. Kill them for a chance to drop a Mystical Gem.

But we should note that this does not mean that you will definitely get Mystical Gem just by killing them. It just has a certain chance of falling. So, you need to keep engaging in battles and keep farming until you are lucky enough to get Mystical Gem.

When this Mystical Gem successfully drops, approach it and pick it up. Don’t let your guard down and be careful at all times to avoid other players taking away your Mystical Gem.

    How To Use Mystical Gem?

The real magic of Mystical Gem lies in its uses. It will help you discover a hidden secret and gain access to a special area.

First, before we can use Mystical Gem, we need to find the secret room. This secret room is located in the lower left corner of High Roller Goblin Cave. You can see its location on the mini-map on your screen.

After you find the secret room, you’ll notice that there are slots where you can place Mystical Gem. We can insert gems after you interact with the socket.

    Tips & Tricks

Finally, I’ll also tell you some tips and strategies to help you maximize the utility of your Mystical Gem.

Because Mystical Gem has a low chance of dropping, be prepared for farming. You need to prepare enough resources, potions, and equipment in advance to take part in the battle and knock down the cave elites as many times as necessary.

Once you enter a hidden room, you may notice that the loot is of better quality. Carrying a Potion of Luck may double your loot gains.

Dark and Darker: Farming Mystical Gems in Goblin Cave

If you plan on spending time farming or exploring the hidden areas here, make sure you have plenty of healing items and potions. Because the enemies in this area tend to be very challenging. You may also encounter powerful enemies like a Wizard. Therefore, I recommend you evaluate your odds before engaging and always have an escape plan.

Of course, every attempt will be different. You need to learn from each experience to help you refine your strategy and make future attempts more successful.

Overall, I hope this guide gave you a clear idea of how to get and use Mystical Gem. This gem adds an exciting layer of mystery to the player's journey of discovery. It also provides us with valuable rewards and the opportunity to discover hidden secrets. Please be prepared for a variety of challenges and surprises as you embark on this mission. Good luck!

Dark And Darker: Full Tank Cleric Build Guide - Is Divine Protection Worth Trying?

    Posted: Sep 20, 2023Views: 4044

Welcome to the world of Dark and Darker, where dangerous dungeons, powerful enemies, and epic adventures await you. In this guide, we’ll delve into the intricacies of a full-tank Cleric build. This is a favorable option for those looking to bolster their defense and emerge victorious in the face of adversity.

In the meantime, we’ll explore an oft-overlooked ability, Divine Protection. We’ll reveal its potential and why it’s worth considering in your Cleric build. So, let’s embark on this journey of discovery and power to uncover the secrets of full-tank Cleric builds and the mysterious Divine Protection.

How To Build Your Tank Cleric?

To build an effective Cleric tank, you need to prioritize defensive equipment and abilities. Here we break down the items and abilities you should consider.

First, you can purchase a Heater Shield as your primary defense item. Don’t be afraid to waste Dark and Darker Gold as it provides substantial protection and is a must-have for any tanking Cleric.

Dark and Darker: Full Tank Build Cleric - Is Divine Protection a Viable Ability?

Next, you need to equip the best helmet to maximize your defense. Then prioritize using Plate Armor to improve your overall tanking capabilities.

Perseverance increases your ability to withstand enemy attacks, making it a must-have option for tank builds. Over time, Holy Aura provides passive healing to improve your durability.

Finally, and the focus of this guide, Divine Protection increases your physical damage reduction by 30% for four seconds. This can be a game changer when facing powerful enemies.

    Divine Protection

Divine Protection is a unique ability that significantly increases your survivability in combat. Here I’ll go into more detail about this underrated skill.

First, Divine Protection increases your PDR by 30%, which means you take 30% less physical damage from enemy attacks. And the effect lasts for four seconds, giving you a brief but crucial window of increased defense.

But it has to be said that Divine Protection has a 90-second cooldown. This makes it the least popular ability in Cleric. Because it has a long cooldown and a short duration.

Dark and Darker: Full Tank Cleric Build - Divine Protection

Why Is Divine Protection Worth Choosing?

While Divine Protection may not be the most popular choice among Clerics, it has its advantages, especially in tank builds.

First, most opponents will not think that Cleric has Divine Protection. This element of surprise can repel attackers who underestimate your tank’s abilities.

Next, Divine Protection can turn the tide of a battle by decimating incoming damage. It effectively gives you a four-second window of invulnerability to physical attacks.

Plus, in player-versus-player encounters, Divine Protection allows your damage output to outlast your opponents. This gives you the upper hand.

Finally, when combined with Protection from Evil, it can remove harmful status effects such as bleeds or poisons. This will further improve your survivability.

Dark and Darker: Tank Cleric Guide

    Substitution Ability

While Divine Protection has its advantages, there are other capabilities you can choose from.

For example, Judgment increases your damage output. This can be helpful if you want to contribute more to your team’s offense. In addition, Holy Shield is also a good skill choice. It provides a protective barrier that enhances your defenses.

    Ending

In the world of Dark and Darker, a fully tanked Cleric with Divine Protection can become a force to be reckoned with. While this build may not be the most popular choice, it offers unique advantages that make it unstoppable in both PVE and PVP scenarios.

You can try the full tank Cleric to see if it suits your play style and improves your survivability in dungeons. Remember, versatility is key, and the best Cleric builds can adapt to different situations. May it fill your Dark and Darker journey with victory and rich loot!
