Diablo 4 Season 14 Iconic Mythic Tier Shifts from D to S | The Grandfather is now the undisputed king
The core of Diablo 4 Season 14 lies in a complete overhaul of Mythic Unique items, and the original Mythic items - Iconic Mythic items such as Heir of Perdition - did not escape the developers' adjustments either; all of them have been reworked.
Most Iconic Mythic items have seen their power levels shift, and several formerly acknowledged powerhouse mythic items have received substantial reductions, possibly in an effort to encourage players to adopt the newer Mythic items more often. That does not mean, however, that every Iconic Mythic item has lost its value. Let us take a look at what has changed and which ones remain useful.

Tier D
Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander
This spear's fixed affixes are weapon damage and Lucky Hit: resource recovery. It did not receive much in the way of changes, but it has always underperformed, and even in Diablo IV Season 14 there is little improvement to speak of.
Nesekem, the Herald
The two fixed affixes on Nesekem, the Herald are weapon damage and damage to injured enemies, and its special effect that applies Vulnerability to foes might find some use in certain Spiritborn builds. Nevertheless, its greatest practical application remains being salvaged for Resplendent Sparks.
Tier C
Heir of Perdition
Heir of Perdition is the most controversial and most heavily weakened mythic item in this round of adjustments. This helmet was once a best-in-slot choice for many classes, but it has now largely stepped out of the meta.
Its damage multiplier has been cut from 80% to 15%, and the critical strike chance affix has been removed from the item entirely, leaving only core primary stats and Movement Speed.
The helmet's special effect now steals critical strike chance from enemies instead of granting a direct critical bonus. Although the damage bonus no longer randomly disappears as it used to, losing the critical strike affix is a huge blow, because critical strike chance carries enormous importance in Season 14.
Shroud of False Death
The formerly coveted +1 to all passive skills on Shroud of False Death has been removed, and now it offers only All Stats. The original cheat-death effect, which could trigger once every 300 seconds, has been changed so that after it procs, it remains permanently inactive until you return to town to reset it.
Shroud of False Death was never exceptionally strong on its own, and after these changes it feels even more lackluster. Even in Hardcore mode, there are better alternatives that provide higher damage reduction. After all, applying mythic powers to other gear slots grants a 30% bonus to attributes, which offers greater overall efficiency.
Shattered Vow
Shattered Vow received a minor increase to the duration of damage-over-time effects, while its special mechanic saw no significant alteration. It may have a faint niche in certain specific Damage Over Time (DOT) builds, but little more.
Doombringer
The fixed affixes on Doombringer are percentage maximum life and weapon damage, and its unique effect has been changed in every respect.
A previous bug that prevented shadow damage reduction from applying correctly has now been fixed. However, the weapon itself leans toward defense and has never dominated the meta. Hardcore players might gain some benefit from it, but for the majority of builds it is irrelevant.
Andariel's Visage
The fixed affixes on Andariel's Visage are core primary stats and poison resistance, which are fairly average. Some poison-oriented builds can make use of it, but the helmet slot is crowded with many strong alternatives, so it lacks competitiveness in Season 14.
Tier B
Tyrael's Might
Although Tyrael's Might offers percent resistances and 20% Damage Reduction, which provide certain benefits for intelligence-based classes, its damage mitigation has been completely outclassed by many of the new Diablo 4 Mythic unique items. It remains usable, but it is far from irreplaceable.
Melted Heart of Selig
This item still finds a place in some Barbarian builds, especially those revolving around resource expenditure and damage scaling. It was even used in the top leaderboard build during PTR 3.1.
Its applicability to other classes is more limited; Necromancers or certain Sorcerer variants might experiment with it, but the highest returns are still seen with Barbarians.
Tier A
Harlequin Crest
Harlequin Crest has gained a brand-new affix of +6 to all skills in the current season, but it has lost its damage reduction property, shifting it toward a more offensive orientation.
It still provides Armor and Cooldown Reduction, though it cannot roll exceptionally high values like certain other items. As a result, it remains a fine piece of equipment, but it is no longer an absolute necessity for every build.
Ring of Starless Skies
Ring of Starless Skies was once highly favored for its generous critical strike chance, but that affix has been removed this season.
Although it still offers Attack Speed, the numbers are no longer as extravagant as before. Nevertheless, its core mechanic - increased damage based on resource expenditure - remains potent. For many builds it is still an excellent endgame ring, but its overall uplift is more moderate than previously.
Tier S
El'Druin, Sword of Justice
If your playstyle involves frequent skill casting and relies heavily on Cooldown Reduction, then El'Druin, Sword of Justice is an outstanding choice. In speed-farming content, the efficiency it provides is unmatched.
Although it cannot grant full skill rank bonuses across the board, the smoothness it brings to gameplay elevates it to one of the top items.
The Grandfather
The Grandfather stands without question as the strongest Iconic Mythic item in Season of Death Awakening.
In Season 14, many sources of critical strike chance have been weakened, yet The Grandfather now directly provides a critical strike chance affix. Through Masterworking and Tempering, a single Grandfather can yield over 40% critical strike chance, directly solving the critical hit deficit that many builds face.
In the past, The Grandfather was often viewed as exclusive to Barbarians. Now, however, because it addresses the critical strike challenge encountered by nearly every class, it can be integrated broadly into a wide variety of different builds.
That concludes the ranking of all Iconic Mythic items in Diablo IV Season 14. Since every unique item in the current season has the potential to become mythic, the developers clearly intend to push players toward exploring new build directions by weakening mainstream equipment. When you obtain these items, do not equip them mindlessly; it is always better to first examine their affix effects to see whether they can actually bring an upgrade to your build.

Forced Online for Rewards? MLB The Show 26 June Countdown Program Infuriates Thousands of Offline Players
Since the launch of June Countdown Program in MLB The Show 26 on June 26, many players have encountered a frustrating reality: the program is decidedly unfriendly to offline players, imposing numerous restrictions and setting a high barrier to entry.
Offline players make up a significant portion of MLB 26 community, so this situation immediately sparked heated discussion. Although June Countdown Program is a limited-time event ending on July 1, it raises a question: has the barrier to entry for MLB 26 become so high that one must complete online tasks just to progress in the game?
The Player Experience
Feeling Abandoned by the Game
How would you feel if you unlocked the game under the same conditions as others, yet found your experience and in-game perks differed from theirs? This lies at the heart of the controversy: MLB 26 has failed to respect the choices made by different types of players.
Many players report that MLB 26 is clearly leaning toward online modes, leaving offline players feeling ignored or even betrayed. Simply put, it seems the game is increasingly devaluing those who prefer offline play.
When nearly all content offering long-term incentives and achievements revolves around online modes, offline play risks being reduced to a mere demo or unfinished trial version. Isn't this effectively driving offline players away?

Forced into Online Play
The design of June Countdown Program essentially compels all players to engage with online gameplay first, almost as if the development team is trying to meet specific online player-count targets.
However, it is important to recognize that fans of offline play often harbor a deep aversion to the competitive nature of online environments, the need to interact with strangers, and the impact of network latency.
These players would rather cut back on their total playtime than switch to online modes simply for the sake of rewards.
Players have made it clear in the community that, for them, MLB 26 is about the immersive simulation of real baseball and the relaxed pleasure of playing a game whenever they choose. When a high-value, limited-time reward is locked exclusively behind an online event, the design sends a clear message: their preferred way of playing is no longer valued.
Could this actually change player habits? Not only is this difficult to execute, but it also risks widening the rift between players and MLB 26 development team, potentially backfiring.
The Development Team's Rationale
As a premier sports title, no decision regarding MLB 26 is made lightly; the development team surely identified specific benefits to restricting offline modes before proceeding.
Marketing Tactics
For starters, June Countdown Program runs for only four or five days, yet it features a highly popular 96 OVR Awards Ronald Acuña Jr. player card as the ultimate reward for reaching 100 points.
For online players, missing out on this high-rated card could mean a competitive disadvantage in future roster battles; for offline players, it represents a permanently lost opportunity to acquire a top-tier asset.
By employing a strategy of short-duration events with high-value rewards, the developers effectively force players to either keep pace with the game's rhythm or risk falling behind forever. In essence, the experience shifts from playing at one's leisure to feeling compelled to play.
Business Logic
Furthermore, in online modes, psychological factors - such as competitive pressure, the need for constant roster upgrades, and ranking anxiety - significantly drive demand for MLB 26 stubs. Offline players face fewer such pressures, as they can generally unlock most content simply by investing time.
At the same time, online modes allow developers to gather data on player preferences, habits, and behaviors, enabling more precise adjustments to future content and card pack releases.
Thus, from the perspective of ensuring the long-term viability of MLB The Show 26, the developers' decision to target offline modes is, in a sense, understandable.
Eroding Trust
Mending the rift between players and MLB 26 development team is far more complex than simply tweaking event rules.
From severe, game-breaking bugs at launch and content updates that were completely out of sync with the real-world baseball season, to a long-standing indifference toward community feedback, the scars left on players by these past issues have never truly healed.
Every new controversy dredges up old grievances, reinforcing the stereotype that the developers simply do not care about the player base. This crisis of player trust is fatal for MLB The Show series, which releases a new installment annually because the franchise relies heavily on players' habit of opening their wallets year after year.
Once players decide to close their wallets on the game for a given year, the cost for the development team to win them back would likely exceed the investment required to retain existing users.
When online competitive players make up the majority, their words and actions within the community are more likely to be noticed by the development team, whereas fans of offline modes are more likely to be overlooked - leading the developers to mistakenly believe that online content is the players' top priority.
It may not be until the financial report for MLB 26 is released that they realize just how misguided the decision to restrict offline modes truly was.
Of course, we hope that following June Countdown Program, there will be no further events that alienate offline players, and that everyone playing MLB The Show 26 will be able to fully enjoy the experience.

WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 3 Leaks Explained: WoW Token, Transmog, and Catch-Up System Rumors
With WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 3 expected to launch in two months and the game having just entered PTR with Patch 2.5.6, data miners discovered that several files related to Dungeons in the game had been modified.
This news quickly spread on player forums and sparked widespread discussion. Many players speculated that this might mean Phase 3 would bring something new.
Below, based on the information uncovered by this data miner, I will introduce some of the most popular speculations, all of which have a certain degree of plausibility and may come true in the future.

Catch-up System
First is the catch-up system that TBC Anniversary might introduce in Phase 3 and beyond. In fact, a similar "catch-up system" design already exists in Phase 3, so this isn't exactly speculation.
Specifically, Phase 3 will update two new 25-player raids: Black Temple and Battle for Mount Hyjal. When they officially launch, all Heroic dungeon bosses will have a chance to drop Epic Gems.
Meanwhile, the bosses in Phase 2's Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep will drop an extra Token, and Magtheridon's Lair and Gruul's Lair will also have additional item drops.
These designs aim to reduce the time players spend farming gear, allowing them to quickly craft gear and builds sufficient for the latest raids, ensuring they can experience the new gameplay content.
In recent years, the developers have designed detailed catch-up systems in multiple WoW Classic servers. Therefore, although current catch-up system in BCC Anniversary is incomplete, it should be further improved in the future.
WoW Token System
Data miners discovered that WoW TBC Classic Anniversary files have again modified the interface and purchase functionality related to WoW Tokens.
WoW Tokens are an in-game trading item introduced by the developers in WoW in 2015. Players can use real-world currency to acquire WoW Tokens and then directly exchange them for game time in the game. Players can also list it in Auction House to exchange for Gold with other players.
Therefore, this is a tradable item that allows players to acquire game time using the in-game token Gold, which can promote the circulation of Gold within the game and stabilize the market to some extent.
However, not all players have a positive attitude towards WoW Token.
Supporters believe it effectively curbs cheating and promotes healthy Gold circulation; opponents believe it disrupts the game's original economic ecosystem, directly linking Gold to real-world currency, negatively impacting the game.
Currently, some documents related to WoW Token have been modified, and this is not the first time. A similar situation occurred in 2021, when the player community widely predicted that WoW Token would be launched in TBC Classic, but the feature was ultimately not implemented.
In fact, since the launch of Phase, the game community has been filled with criticism of the economic system within BCC Anniversary.
Unlocking new raids and dungeons consumes too much gold - almost 300 TBC Classic Anniversary Gold in just two hours, while players might only farm a little over 100 Gold in three hours.
This situation will undoubtedly repeat itself when Phase 3 launches. Therefore, the developers have likely considered this issue, which is why they are hesitant to add WoW Tokens back to the game.
Of course, if WoW Tokens do return, the supply and demand of gold in the game, price levels, player behavior patterns, and attitudes will all be affected, and it may also face widespread opposition.
In any case, the fact that WoW Token files have been repeatedly modified indicates that the developers have likely been internally testing or preparing this feature, so we are very likely to see it in Phase 3 or later.
Transmog System
Data miners also discovered that files related to Transmog system have been extensively modified.
In the history of WoW, Transmog system first appeared in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and has since become a permanent feature.
Its core function is to allow players to replace the appearance of their currently worn equipment with the appearance of other collected equipment without altering the actual attributes of the gear.
In the official servers, this feature is tied to Appearance Collection Log, and players can operate it through NPC Transmogrifier. All characters share the appearance unlock progress.
However, the question of whether to introduce this system in WoW TBC Classic Anniversary has been controversial.
Supporters believe it enriches the player experience, freeing character appearance from the constraints of their actual equipped gear, allowing players to freely experiment with various outfit combinations;
Opponents argue that it would undermine Anniversary version's unique feature - in the game, the appearance of a set of equipment is a direct reflection of a player's strength.
Regardless, among the modified files, those related to Transmog system are the most numerous, including but not limited to files related to Transmog interface and Transmog collection logic.
Therefore, many players speculate that Transmog system will be launched in Phase 3. After all, the developers have no reason to idly modify game files; if they made changes, there must be a reason.
However, many players believe these files were mistakenly modified by developers.
This interpretation has some merit, as developers use a unified development environment to manage multiple WoW versions, and it's not uncommon for developers to mistakenly modify files from one version as if they were from another.
These are the recent speculations from WoW TBC Classic Anniversary players regarding the new features of Phase 3, all based on information obtained through data mining.
In summary, the first possibility is the most likely to be true, while the third is the least likely. Whether they are true or not, we'll have to wait until Phase 3 is officially released to find out.

Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity Progression Guide: Stacking boosts is the key to generating coins and gems!
It must be admitted that while the mechanics of many Roblox games are quite similar, these simple systems possess an addictive charm; Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity is one such title that continues to attract new players to this day!
If you are a newcomer, even with experience in similar games, you will need a guide to help you adapt and progress quickly in BGSI. Here is everything you need to know.

Mastering basic gameplay
First, it is important to note that BGS Infinity is the sequel to Bubble Gum Simulator, so most core mechanics remain the same: explore islands in the clouds by blowing bubbles in the bubble universe and earn coins in the process.
Building on this foundation, Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity introduces a pet system. You can find eggs on the islands and consume coins to hatch them. Different pets provide various bonuses, such as increased hatching speed.
Furthermore, the game hosts periodic competitive events within the server; achieving a high rank earns you extra rewards, such as more coins or eggs containing rare pets.
It is worth noting that some progression-boosting effects require unlocking very rare pets. Instead of consuming time hunting for or hatching pets, why not simply buy Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity items on IGGM?
We offer a variety of enhancement packs, such as double luck or doubled hatching efficiency, to help you quickly gain an advantage, even during special events!
Constantly farming coins and gems
As the two primary currencies in BGSI, coins and gems play a crucial role throughout your gameplay experience, so mastering tips for farming them is essential.
One common and simple way to farm coins is by selling bubbles in Twilight World. To create bubbles, you first obtain gum and then manually click to blow them.
As you unlock more eggs and hatch pets, your collection progress in the in-game index fills up. Completing a specific set of pets rewards you with coins.
Farming gems is slightly more challenging. After continuously blowing bubbles and leveling up to unlock Zen World, you will find chests containing both gems and coins, and these chests respawn continuously.
Other sources of gems are scattered across various quests or daily activity rewards, so be sure to keep an eye on your daily game schedule.
It is important to note that the key to truly maximizing your coin and gem income lies in utilizing pets and other boost mechanisms. We will cover these individually below.
Making the most of the pets
In BGSI, pets are not just trophies; they are companions that help you earn more coins or gems. You can unlock pets by hatching eggs; eggs can be obtained through trading, exploration, or as event rewards.
To fully leverage pet boosts, you first need to unlock more pet slots so you can benefit from stacked bonuses. You start with four basic slots, and additional ones are primarily unlocked by completing quests and increasing your pets' mastery levels.
Next, you should unlock the pet enchantment system, which further enhances boost effects. To do this, you must unlock Void World in Overworld and then use gems to roll the dice and determine the resulting enchantment.
Obtaining more potions
In addition to pets, various potions are a crucial way to gain boosts in Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity. You can acquire them by opening Mystery Boxes (found in random rewards), trading in the shop, or participating in daily gameplay activities.
One unique method involves interacting with Gem Genie in Zen World. He assigns small tasks that reward you with potions upon completion.
Farming Royal Keys and Chests
Royal Chests are rare items in BGS Infinity that appear randomly on small islands. They remain available for only ten minutes and can only be opened with Royal Keys. Opening them can yield rare items such as Reroll Orbs, Golden Keys, or various potions.
Although Royal Chests spawn unpredictably, we highly recommend keeping an eye out for them, especially since the daily gameplay in Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity is relatively relaxed.
As for Royal Keys, they are primarily obtained through irregular login bonuses, random playtime rewards, and Bubble Pass rewards (if you have unlocked it).
Increasing the luck
Since pets are a vital source of boosts and income, increasing your luck stat raises the probability of hatching rare pets from eggs.
Among the enchantment mechanisms we've discussed, High Roller is the most effective for boosting the luck, though it is also one of the harder ones to unlock.
Other strategies include using specific potions, playing with friends after unlocking and upgrading Buffs Mastery, and exploring special rift islands.
These islands are green and feature special eggs; simply approach them to see the luck bonuses they provide.
Actively participate in special events
As mentioned earlier, Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity occasionally hosts special limited-time events. These events introduce specific challenges or quests that offer exclusive egg or pet rewards upon completion.
This means that if you miss these events, you might never have another chance to obtain those pets! So, be sure to keep an eye out for updates.
We hope these tips help you quickly unlock the pets you want and enjoy an even better experience in Bubble Gum Simulator Infinity!

How to Unlock More Cars in Brookhaven RP? | All Methods Summarized (2026 Updated)
Brookhaven RP is a role-playing game where players settle in the city of Brookhaven, owning their own houses, driving their own cars, interacting with other players, and more. As of 2026, the methods for unlocking vehicles in the game have become relatively stable. Today, I will provide a detailed breakdown of all the ways to unlock more vehicles and analyze the details of various game passes to help you choose the most suitable mode of transportation.
Entering Brookhaven for the First Time

When you first load into Brookhaven RP, you'll find a Vehicles button on the right side of the screen. Clicking it will open the vehicle menu, allowing you to scroll through all the vehicles you currently own. New players will receive a set of free vehicles by default, including basic sedans and compact cars. These free vehicles are sufficient for initial exploration of the town, commuting, or meeting up with friends.
Brookhaven doesn't have a mandatory tutorial; everything requires players to explore on their own. Fortunately, the vehicle system is very intuitive. After selecting a vehicle you like, clicking it will generate it nearby, and you can drive it. Use W, A, S, and D keys on your keyboard to control your vehicle.
However, observant players will soon notice a small lock icon on some vehicle icons in the menu - this means they require a specific gamepass to unlock.
Ways to Unlock More Vehicles
As of 2026, there are two game passes that unlock more vehicles: Vehicle Pack and Premium Pass. Both unlock vehicles, but their coverage and additional benefits differ.
Vehicle Pack
In 2026, Vehicle Pack remains the single investment that unlocks the most vehicles. With this game pass, you'll unlock over 20 exclusive vehicles across all categories, from motorcycles and trucks to various sports cars.
It's important to note that vehicles acquired through Vehicle Pack are permanently unlocked. This means you only need to pay once, and these vehicles will remain in your account as long as you continue playing Brookhaven.
Premium Pass - A Comprehensive Package
Premium Pass is another way to unlock vehicles, but it offers much more than just vehicles - it's a comprehensive advanced package. Unlocking Premium Pass grants players exclusive vehicles, as well as premium houses, helicopters, jets, house pools, and other extras. Furthermore, your username will display a unique color in chat, essentially giving you full VIP access in the game. However, this method unlocks far fewer vehicles than the Vehicle Pack.
Limited-Time Events - Get Exclusive Vehicles for Free
Besides the gamepasses, Brookhaven RP also periodically launches limited-time events where players can obtain exclusive vehicles for free by completing event tasks. This is a completely resource-free unlocking method, worthy of all players' attention.
For example, in a previous LEGO-themed event, players needed to collect scattered blue LEGO bricks on the map. Collecting a certain number unlocked four different LEGO-themed vehicles. The entire event lasted about a week, and each task only took a few minutes to complete. Free-to-play or low-spending players are advised to regularly check in-game event announcements to avoid missing these opportunities to obtain exclusive vehicles for free.
Ad-Watching Unlocks
Besides actively participating in events to obtain vehicles for free, there's another way to get a free chance to drive a luxury car - by watching ads to gain 10 minutes of temporary access. However, please note that unlike the game pass in Brookhaven RP, watching ads only unlocks specific vehicles, not all vehicle types. Therefore, if you want other vehicles, you'll need to watch ads again in-game.
Vehicle Speed Upgrade
Besides unlocking the vehicles themselves, speed is also a common concern for players. By default, all vehicles have a speed of 25 mph. This speed is indeed somewhat insufficient for players who want to quickly traverse town to work or visit friends.
To address this, the game offers a dedicated Vehicle Speed Upgrade. With this upgrade, street vehicles can reach speeds of 100 mph, and smaller vehicles can reach 40 mph. Higher-level versions can increase speeds to 200 and 50 mph, respectively.
It's worth mentioning that Premium Pass automatically includes vehicle upgrades in 2026, allowing players to change vehicle colors and even add fire or smoke effects. Therefore, if you already have Premium Pass, you don't need to acquire Speed Upgrade separately.
In short, the core way to unlock more vehicles in Brookhaven RP is through gamepasses. Vehicle Pack unlocks over 20 exclusive vehicles, Premium Pass offers a comprehensive package including high-end housing and helicopters, and Vehicle Speed Upgrade addresses speed concerns at a very low price. Additionally, actively participating in limited-time events and watching ads are two free ways to unlock vehicles.
To quickly unlock all benefits and fully enjoy your role-playing experience, you can buy Brookhaven RP items at IGGM. We have all the gamepasses you need to unlock all your desired vehicles in one place.
New players are advised to start with Vehicle Speed Upgrade to improve their gameplay experience, and then gradually unlock more content based on their needs and budget. Whichever path you choose, the streets of Brookhaven await you to drive your favorite vehicle and write your own role-playing story.

MLB The Show 26 Diamond Dynasty Key Pros That Can't Be Ignored | Why do a part of players still stick with this game?
Lately, the community has been vocal with criticism regarding MLB The Show 26, yet curiously enough, some players are sticking with it. While there are certainly a few die-hard fanboys, the reason MLB 26 manages to retain a player base lies in its undeniable strengths.
More specifically, these strengths are most evident in the game's core mode: Diamond Dynasty. Let's take a look at the appealing features that keep players engaged, approaching the topic as objectively as possible rather than from a place of disappointment.

Customizable Mini Seasons
Mini Seasons has arguably seen the most dramatic shift in reputation among MLB The Show 26 Diamond Dynasty mode.
Mechanically, it remains a primary source for earning MLB 26 stubs, though it has unfortunately been marred by various bugs and a progression structure that becomes frustrating in the late stages.
However, the ability to customize season length and the number of innings per game undeniably alleviates the grind. This transforms Mini Seasons into an ideal, low-risk, repeatable, and relaxed farming activity.
This change was introduced in response to WBC; developers needed to emulate its tournament format to create a corresponding Mini Seasons experience.
Furthermore, if you are a die-hard Mini Seasons fan, this change benefits you too: you can switch the standard three-inning games to full nine-inning contests for a deeper, more immersive experience.
That said, even without the new issues that have plagued the mode, there is still room for improvement in MLB 26's Mini Seasons, such as adding even more customization options.
Adjustments to pitching mechanics
A few weeks ago, an update to the strike zone in MLB The Show 26 effectively resolved a specific issue with pitch detection: instances where a pitch would clip the edge of the strike zone but fail to register as a strike.
Fortunately, this detection logic has been fixed. If you enjoy pitching or excel at it, this change not only improves your gameplay experience but may also help you explore new tactical strategies.
For instance, you can now attempt inside-corner sliders, as well as sliders and cutters targeting the front hip, without worrying that the ball might drift into the center of the zone and become an automatic strike.
Under the old system, pitches would easily drift into the heart of the plate (dead center), making them easy targets for opposing batters.
Now, however, by slightly adjusting the target location toward the inner corner, a pitcher can avoid the center while still clipping the edge of the zone to secure a called strike.
Furthermore, breaking balls aimed low, or low and away, can now also clip the corner. This means batters are forced to swing at pitches they might have previously let go by without consequence.
This makes pitching a more viable strategy and could potentially speed up the pace of play, as more pitches are put into play for valid hits, while pitchers maintain a degree of control.
In a game like MLB The Show 26, which relies heavily on player reflexes, hitting usually dominates; the updates to the strike zone effectively strike a new balance between hitting and pitching.
Exquisite card art design
In MLB 26, or similar sports titles like FC 26, player card stats are certainly crucial. However, card art that aligns with specific programs or collection themes, and simply looks great, is also a major factor in motivating players to grind for them.
Admittedly, judging art design is subjective, as everyone has different tastes and aesthetic preferences. Even so, the diverse themes offer a variety of styles, ensuring you can always find something that appeals to you.
That said, it must be noted that the developers responsible for MLB 26's technical aspects and gameplay mechanics have arguably let down the art team. For any game, gameplay is the key factor; excellent visuals are merely the icing on the cake.
Strong performance from Topps Now Series
While this series represents just one facet of MLB The Show 26 Diamond Dynasty mode, the user experience stands out: the cards feature impressive designs, and the players themselves offer genuine value, making them worth acquiring.
Take Cole Carrigg for instance; capable of playing multiple positions, he is currently one of the most useful bench players in MLB 26. He boasts solid arm strength, base-stealing ability, speed, and hitting skills.
Chase Petty is another player worth mentioning. As a right-handed pitcher, his solid H/9 stats earn him a spot in MLB 26 meta, which is currently dominated by switch-hitters. Despite a few shortcomings, his overall performance remains impressive.
However, it is worth noting that if you aim to complete your Collections, you must acquire every single card. This requires obtaining more packs, which consumes a significant amount of time and effort.
The return of the event program
The launch of Moonshot II Event marks the return of Event mode, bringing clear objectives to the competition rather than just mindless grinding.
More specifically, these events now feature concrete rules and mechanics. For instance, you can earn cards that help complete collection tasks or receive special pack rewards through gameplay.
That said, the system has its flaws; events are not available around the clock, and there are often gaps of at least a week between them. This seems unnecessary unless a major event, like the recent Summer Series, is scheduled for the near future.
In reality, interim events could easily be introduced to fill the gaps between these major events. Even without specific card rewards, XP or stubs would be welcome incentives. Ultimately, players shouldn't find themselves with nothing to do in MLB 26.
Conclusion
While the aforementioned positives are undeniable, unfortunately, they are far from sufficient to salvage the current quality and reception of Diamond Dynasty or MLB The Show 26 as a whole.
We hope that as we enter July, upcoming content like new events and All-Star will help MLB 26 reverse the slump of recent months, allowing the existing strengths of Diamond Dynasty to truly shine.
