DC Universe Online: What You Need To Know About The Witching Hour? - 2022 Guides
Posted: Oct 08, 2022 Views: 4080
DC Universe Online's annual Halloween event is about to meet you, and before that, we first ushered in the annual The Witching Hour. The return of the event also brings new base items, new feats, and some style items.
Currently, the event has started and will end on November 2nd. Those who have experienced The Witching Hour before must be very familiar with the event. Because most of the gameplay and functions have not changed. Players start the game as before by going to the House of Legends and talking to the Phantom Stranger or Tala.
The Midnight Masquerade nightclub and the streets of Gotham City remain the main locations for players to participate in the event. However, the return of the event has added some fresh elements to set off the festive atmosphere of Halloween.
In addition to queuing up for The Midnight Masquerade alert, players will also need to fight the haunting of the gothic club with other players. Since battles take several rounds, players can defeat haunting at its roots simply by figuring out what's behind haunting and mysterious masked apparitions. Before going to find the reason, players can prepare in advance to deal with the imitation abilities of several familiar characters.

In addition to the above events, players can also head to the House of Legends to participate in the Multiplayer Aerial Movement Challenge: Flapping in the Night. In this event, players will transform into vampire bats and compete in a flying race around Arkham Asylum.
The return of The Witching Hour will bring some new feats such as En Gourd, Hole-y Bedsheets, Batman and Patch Pillager. Pumpkin Knight and Spooky Host Accessory are also very noteworthy new style items. Not only can players get these new style items by earning the seasonal currency Spooky Bites, but they can also be exchanged for other items using Tekl's Halloween bucket. Of course, if the player can complete the Midnight Masquerade of the event and the daily event quests, they will also get those rewards mentioned above.
If the player can find the Vault-O'Lantern in the House of Legends, there is a chance to unlock the Fall Vault.
That's all for the introduction to The Witching Hour. If you want better gear in the game, you need to have enough DCUO Cash. Luckily, you can buy DCUO Cash at IGGM.com. We can guarantee our prices are the lowest in the same industry. We have different payment methods, such as Paypal, Credits Cards and Pay Locally. We also place great emphasis on honest transactions. Ally Legion System
DCUO Season's Greedings introduces Ally Legion System. When unlocking an ally now, you can choose to use Legion Tribute tokens to unlock it for a single character or for the entire account. This is to prevent players from repeatedly training allies.
Unlocking an ally for multiple characters will require a significant number of Ally Legion Tributes, while unlocking it for only one character will require fewer tokens.
Legion Tribute tokens cannot be exchanged for DC Universe Online cash, but can be traded in Marketplace using Daybreak cash or Marketplace cash. Members and free players can each receive 250 Ally Legion Tributes, while completing Season's Greedings event can earn up to 1,000 Ally Legion Tributes.
Ally Legion Tributes are account-bound and cannot be traded with other players after acquisition. However, other characters under the same account can use them to unlock allies.
Before using Ally Legion Tributes, ensure your Allies are at the highest level and meet the required standards, as some Allies, such as Bruce Wayne's and April Fool's, cannot be shared with other characters.
Mister Freeze Ally
Mister Freeze can be leveled up to maximum immediately upon acquisition. Its skill deals approximately 10.4 million AoE damage to 5 targets, currently the second highest among all Allies. It deals approximately 3.94 million damage to a single target, which is average. Overall, it is inferior to Superboy in AoE and inferior to Flashpoint Batman or Zod in single-target damage.
Passive 1
When a player is attacked while holding a shield, there is a 25% chance to summon a Snow Devil. A maximum of three Snow Devils can exist simultaneously, lasting for 19.5 seconds. However, in practice, a maximum of two Snow Devils are summoned at a time, rarely reaching three.
This passive has a good trigger rate in actual combat because Snow Devils deal decent damage and have a wide attack range. It's suitable for tank classes that rely on shields, providing additional damage and indirect healing.
Passive 2
When your character consumes Supercharge, a continuous frost damage zone is generated around them. The duration depends on Supercharge consumed: 2500 points for 5 seconds, 5000 points for 10 seconds, and 10000 points for 20 seconds.
This passive synergizes well with builds that frequently use Supercharge, dealing sustained and significant AoE damage and preventing opponents from getting close, thus improving survivability.
Mister Freeze ally is primarily geared towards tanks, especially ice-based tanks, and provides additional damage and healing through summons and the damage-over-time zone. For DPS classes, Passive 1 might have some use with shield-based builds, but its overall design leans more towards tank support.
This concludes the overview of DC Universe Online Season's Greedings. Besides the event content, the most important aspect of this event is Ally Legion System. You can acquire Ally Legion Tributes based on your class and needs and enjoy seasonal events.

DC Universe Online Powers Tier List 2025 | Best DPS, Tank, Healer & Controller Powers Ranked
DC Universe Online is one of the most beloved games for DC fans, though Batman series remains unparalleled. It allows you to customize your abilities and appearance, letting you play as either a villain or a hero.
DC Universe Online categorizes heroes' abilities into 15 types based on their comic book counterparts. These determine your combat style, such as melee, ranged, DPS, or tank, and their visual effects. The developers sometimes adjust these abilities to try and maintain balance, but as you know, absolute balance is impossible. Therefore, below is a simple ranking of abilities in the current meta.

Tier D
Mental (Control And DPS)
The representative hero of Mental category is Martian Manhunter. While this ability is incredibly cool in the comics, its performance falls short in the game. Mentals offer DPS and control, performing reasonably well in PvP, but are very rare in PvE endgame content because their DPS and trolling abilities are largely unremarkable.
Celestial (Healer And DPS)
Celestial's healing ability is decent, with long range. However, its damage output, especially AoE damage, is weak, and its core skill mechanics are clunky. One of its skills even has a taunt effect, easily leading to player death in elite raids. While the design is cool, it's very weak to play.
Tier C
Water (Healer And DPS)
Like Celestial, Water has healing abilities, but Water's healing relies too heavily on shields, resulting in insufficient actual healing. However, its supercharge is better than Celestial's.
Earth (Tank And DPS)
As you see the ability, you know it is for tanking. Earth is very challenging to play, requiring high skill. Its damage output is decent, but not top-tier. It's a superpower with a large skill ceiling and floor, heavily reliant on your skill.
Tier B
Sorcery (Healing And DPS)
Sorcery is a very versatile and interesting class, providing reliable healing. It can also summon creatures and benefit from pet buffs. Their single-target DPS is very strong, and its AoE damage is also decent, though the latter is slightly weaker, and it is considered above average among healing superpowers.
Light (Control And DPS)
As the representative ability of Green Lantern Corps, Light has high DPS potential and can quickly cast Omega Spam, and Its trolling and supercharge abilities are also excellent. However, achieving high damage requires a very specific build and skillful execution, making it a high-barrier class.
Tier A
Fire (Tank And DPS)
Fire relies on regeneration to withstand a lot of damage, making it one of the top tanking superpowers. However, its single-target DPS is also overpowered. Only its AoE is relatively weak.
Quantum (Control And DPS)
Quantum's performance can not be as strong as the comic hero Booster Gold, but it possesses the strongest crowd control skills and a powerful supercharge. Its DPS mainly relies on the supercharge, Oblivion, requiring careful management. As a troll, Quantum is more popular than Mental.
Munitions (Control And DPS)
Munitions has strong single-target DPS and trolling capabilities, able to fight like Deathstroke and Deadshot using heavy weapons, missiles, and machine guns, resulting in very high DPS.
Ice (Tank And DPS)
Ice is also one of the top tanking superpowers, its strength mainly lying in its shields. Its DPS (damage per second) is also very strong, capable of rapidly casting Omega skills, with single-target damage comparable to Fire.
Tier S
Atomic (Tank And DPS)
Atomic ability is as powerful as Captain Atom. Besides being a powerful tank, it boasts the game's strongest Supercharge, high Mass Density, and powerful self-healing, eliminating the need to waste DC Universe Online Cash on Soder Cola. Its DPS is also very high in both single-target and AoE damage, and it possesses one of the best pull abilities.
Nature (Healer And DPS)
Nature is versatile and powerful. In terms of DPS, Wolf Form provides Crits, and Gorilla Form provides Might, offering excellent single-target and large-area damage. Its healing ability is also top-tier in the game, indispensable for clearing high-difficulty dungeons.
Rage (Tank And DPS)
Rage is undoubtedly an S-tier DPS. The combination of Berserker form and Neo-Venom Boost deals extremely high damage. Even without considering its signature skill, Lacerate, its rotation is very structured and performs exceptionally well in Elite Raids. Its tanking ability is also good, but be aware of Rage Crash mechanic.
Gadgets (Control And DPS)
Gadgets has consistently been one of the top-tier superpowers, possessing extremely strong trolling capabilities and dealing considerable damage even with support gear. They perform exceptionally well in both PvP and PvE, making them one of the strongest all-around classes.
Electricity (Healer And DPS)
Electricity is simple yet powerful to play. Skills like Tesla Ball and Circuit Breaker are very useful. It excels in critical strike chance. Having dedicated allies like Static makes a character exceptionally strong overall.
The above list represents the current version's ability ranking, and note that once you choose an ability and create a character, you cannot easily change it. To change an ability, you either need to create a new character or use a Respec Token: Power Type (which cannot be traded with DC Universe Online Cash).
The various abilities in DC Universe Online are not singular in function; they generally possess DPS, tanking, healing, or control capabilities simultaneously. Each ability has its own unique characteristics, so it's not recommended to choose your abilities based on strength alone; it's best to choose abilities based on your preferences.

DC Universe Online Solo Raids 2025 | How To Beat Fortress Of Solitude: The Chasm Alone?
As an MMORPG based on the classic DC comic book series, DC Universe Online, released in 2011, is now in its 14th year. While its popularity is far from what it once was, it's still quite long-lived conpared with other games of its genre and released at the same time.
Thus, in 2025, you'll find not only people still playing the game, but also some players committed to exploring still-rare DC Universe Online gameplay, such as solo raiding.
So, what exactly is the challenge of raiding in DC Universe Online? Why is almost no one completing it solo? And is it even possible to do it solo? We'll answer these questions one by one.
What Are DCUO Raids?
Raids are a combat mode found in most MMORPGs. They typically require you to team up with multiple players to enter a dungeon and defeat enemies and bosses to earn rewards.
In DCUO, raids work much the same way. DCUO raids are divided into regular and seasonal & event raids, with the most standard team configuration being an eight-player squad.
Seasonal & event raids are determined by the current game activity. Regular raids are divided into seven tiers, each containing multiple specific raids with varying entry levels and the amount of DC Universe Online cash or other special rewards available.
Notably, the lowest entry level for Tier 1 raids is level 30, while Tier 2 and above require a minimum CR 60. Given the inherent difficulty of raiding and the limitations of individual skill, this solo raid attempt will be based on Tier 1.
Why Attempt A Solo Raid?
In any MMORPG, you'll find players who don't enjoy playing with friends. While part of the joy of MMORPGs is socializing and teaming up, and while teamwork can yield greater rewards, there are always those who simply enjoy navigating the crowds on their own.
Therefore, to enhance the gaming experience for these players, it's necessary to try out various DCUO modes solo to test feasibility and reward drops.
Improving Your Character
For safety's sake, we only recommend challenging Tier 1 raids solo. However, you don't need to limit your character to level 30; it's best to reach higher levels to avoid unexpected situations.
In addition, you can also equip ice powers and super speed, as well as some combat skills. Upgrading and equipping artifacts, if possible, is also essential.
Artifacts in DCUO are a new type of gear, with each character having up to three slots. After obtaining an artifact, you can upgrade it with Nth Metal, unlocking powerful bonuses and even new passive or active skills from levels 80 to 200.
Another unique advantage of artifacts over regular gear is that they offer long-term investment benefits that improve with character growth.
Carrying Allies
While this guide focuses on solo raid content, the allies system is still worth utilizing. In DCUO, you can think of it as a fusion of mechanics like pets or companions. Once activated, it assists you in combat and can be enhanced.
To enhance allies, you need to collect Ally Favor by participating in activities. Different allies have different abilities, and you can equip up to one combat ally and two support allies per battle.
Using Fortress Of Solitude: The Chasm As An Example
There are nine Tier 1 raids in DC Universe Online in total:
- Kahndaq
- Batcave: Outer Caverns
- Batcave: Inner Sanctum
- Batcave: Brainiac Subconstruct
- Fortress of Solitude: Chasm
- Fortress of Solitude: Power Core
- Fortress of Solitude: Sunstone Matrix
- Themyscira: Gates of Tartarus
- The Prime Battleground
For this reason, we chose Fortress of Solitude: Chasm, a moderately difficult Tier 1 raid, as a test case for the feasibility of solo play. While it's less exciting than the more challenging raids, this stable gameplay is precisely what the test needs.
Upon entering the raid, you'll first speak with Superman. He'll use his thermal vision to blast a tunnel into the fortress. It's best to follow him along a fixed path to avoid being hit by orbital bombardments from Brainiac ships.
Once through the tunnel, eliminate all enemies you encounter until you activate Brainiac Machine on the platform to summon the first boss, Sunstone Herald. This boss is tricky because it builds sunstone armor to reduce damage.
Overall, this boss isn't difficult to defeat. The key is to defeat it quickly, as prolonged battles will enrage it and instantly knock your team down. Continuing through the tunnels opened by Superman, you'll encounter the following bosses:
- Sunstone Broodmother
- Scorpionod MK-1
- Sunstone Domineer and Krypto
How Did The Test Go?
Overall, at least for Fortress of Solitude: The Chasm raid, as long as you follow our recommended character builds, completing it solo is a bit challenging and dangerous, but not impossible.
From this, it can be inferred that Tier 1 raids with a lower difficulty level than Fortress of Solitude: The Chasm should be easier to complete, while higher levels will require upgrading your artifacts and allies.
Honestly, while possible, we still recommend completing all raids in a group. However, if you really want to try solo play or occasionally find yourself without a teammate, clearing some raids on your own can be quite enjoyable.
In addition to artifacts, regular gear and consumables are also essential items for playing DCUO raids. To obtain them in a timely manner, we recommend buying DC Universe Online cash at IGGM in advance so you can redeem the items you want at any time!

DC Universe Online: Everything We Need To Know About The Star Sapphires - 2024 Guide
It's entirely possible to craft a remarkably accurate version of Star Sapphire within the game. Next, we will explore the Star Sapphires in DC Universe Online. This guide will cover many of the essential items needed for the recreation. These items are accessible during the Valentine Seasonal Event - Love Conquers All. Let's dive right in.

Female Characters
We have an official Star Sapphire set of gear in DC Universe Online. While the bad news is that it's a set for female characters only, we'll be taking a look at male characters soon. You can get the Star Sapphire style from Vending Unit 44 in the House of Legends. It will cost you 70 Source Marks for each piece of the style.
Materials
Now, let’s talk about where to get the materials. Now, we have the materials from the Valentine Seasonal Vendor. There’s the Villain vendor on this side, but if you go just across, you’ll see the Hero vendor. It ain’t a party till the main man shows up. You will see the Impassioned Chroma Pack, but there was also the Impassioned Material. And while we’re there, we’ll take a look also at the Zamaron Crescent Mask. We do have 2 Star Sapphire accessories and we also have the Carol Ferris Earth style.
Moving on to the headpiece, here we have the Carol Ferris Earth style and we have the Impassioned Material. We can apply the Material to the Hairstyles. Then, let’s equip the Zamaron Crescent. However, if you equip the Zamaron Crescent, you cannot use the Emissive Eyes.
Emblem
We also have a Star Sapphire Emblem in the game. You can simply purchase it from our friend Booster Gold in the House of Legends. It comes from the very first time capsule. You also have the symbol, and there is the Crystal Accessory. I’ll take a look at that in just a minute. And there’s also a wall banner you could get for your Lair if you want to.
Then you can get a pretty big Star Sapphire Wall Seal for your Lair. By the Light of Love, you can also get a Star Sapphire Orbital Strike. We don’t have a Star Sapphire Supply Drop just yet, so I still have to use the Valentine’s Day Hearts Supply Drop that you can get from the Valentine Seasonal Vendor.
You should be able to get the Violet Lanterns as a random drop, much easier to just buy it from the Broker and it’s not that expensive. Therefore, it is also a good choice for players who do not have enough DC Universe Online Cash.
Male Characters
As mentioned, the Star Sapphire gear is now for female characters, with no corresponding style available for male characters. For a long time as a male character, the only real option you had was the Star Sapphire Designer T-Shirt, and it does allow you to create an interesting Star Sapphire if you want to.
But once they added the Star Sapphire Emblem in the game, then you could easily create a male Star Sapphire, and it gave you a lot more options than just using the T-Shirt.

Aura
For the aura, I love the Titianian Aura, which a great option for a Star Sapphire character. For the accessory, you can choose between the Star Sapphire Zamaron Crystal or the Floating Star Sapphire Symbol. And for the aura, I kind of like the Cosmic Purple one.
Base Items
For the base items, you can get a pretty big Star Sapphire Wall Seal for your Lair if you want to, although you will need a big wall for that seal. There’s a whole bunch of crystals you can get for your lair if you want to. There is also the Zamaron Love Crystal. You can use the crystal once per day, so it does give you a reward when you click on it. When you have too many characters and too many Lairs, it can be challenging sometimes. There’s also a huge Green Lantern Corps Memorial Statue that you can get easily enough from the Broker.
Final Thought
The Valentine Seasonal Supply Drop works well enough with the theme of the character. And we do not have an official Star Sapphire power in DC Universe Online. To recreate a Star Sapphire, I would use the Mental powers or the Sorcery powers to sort of mimic having the Star Sapphire powers. If you need some items or some styles for your Star Sapphire character, get them now from the Valentine Seasonal Vendor before it’s too late.

DC Universe Online: A Complete Guide To Bounty Bizarro Boss Fight!
In order to have a Superman of his own, Lex Luthor called on his top scientists to scan and copy the hero’s genetic structure. Because of the complexity of the replica-making process, the result was the creation of a terrifying threat, Bizarro.
A mirror image of Superman, Bizarro, is an imperfect copy of him, as his poor genetic makeup causes him to be the exact opposite of the hero Man of Steel.
In DC Universe Online, Bizarro is a bounty mission for hero players. Players can start the mission via a wanted poster in Little Bohemia MPD Safe House. This mission requires players to find and defeat the failed Superman clone, Bizarro. In this guide, I will share some of my experiences and tips for beating Bizarro.

Objectives
First, before starting a mission, clarify your mission goals. Find and defeat Bizarro in Metropolis and report to the field officers at Metropolis Little Bohemia Police Station.
Players can either defeat Bizarro once and automatically get the mission again, or they can go to the wanted poster to start the mission immediately.
Attack Mechanism
Bizarro’s attack power is like a truck, and his attack power is disproportionate for such a low-level mob. Therefore, I recommend that you spend some DC Universe Online Cash to upgrade your hero’s overall stats before starting.
In this encounter, I recommend you choose the tank. Because Bizarro has Heat Vision and Freezing Breath, both of which are unavailable to players.
Heat Vision is the most dangerous attack, hitting at least 401 and knocking the player down, being unavoidable and having a long range. Freezing Breath is performed after he has obviously inhaled air, and hits quickly for 40 seconds, but is easy to dodge. There’s no real stun to deal with these, just tremendous damage that you either have to heal or try to burn off before he kills you all.

Bizarro tends to lock onto a target for a period during combat. Therefore, it's beneficial to stay within melee range, otherwise he will spam Freezing Breath repeatedly, dealing very high damage that even healers can’t fully mitigate. He is also quite persistent, and players should expect to be Freezing Breathed at least twice in a row when trying to escape.
Because of the early warning effect, his Heat Vision is not as deadly, does relatively low damage, has a slower attack speed, and has almost two less Freezing Breaths per Heat Vision.
Combat Tips
Patients and security guards will automatically attack him when they see him, but will not cause actual damage and will be killed in a few attacks. The security guard can still attack you when you fight Bizarro.
Unlike most of his opponents, he doesn’t seem to see Clown Box as an obstacle. This means that even if he is chasing the player, when the player is hiding inside Clown Box, he will chase someone else, rendering him ineffective. But don’t worry, defeating Bizarro is not difficult as long as you keep attacking him while dodging damage.

Rewards
Finally, after you defeat Bizarro, you will receive a nice reward, including STAR Labs Renown +40, 66 DCUO Cash, and Twisted Harness. However, it should be noted that Twisted Harness only applies to the first bounty reward after defeating Bizarro.
Additionally, players will receive 1234 XP for defeating Bizarro and completing the mission. Therefore, this is also a great way to help you level up quickly and improve your character.

DC Universe Online: How To Maximize Precision DPS With This Celestial Build?
This time I will share a DPS guide with you, focusing on Celestial this time. Whether you're a novice player without enough amount of DC Universe Online Cash to spare, or a seasoned veteran looking for a simple build to play through the game, this guide is a good choice for you. So, let's dive right in.

How It Works
This is a Precision build, so you want to have Brawling. This is the weapon we're going to be using, so you grab all of these abilities. Then you want to go down to Martial Arts and then unlock all the stuff.
After you get all this done, you want to go right back to Brawling, and then you're going to unlock the combo. Now, I am Flight. If you want this build to be better, you want to be Super Speed.
Let's move on. I have Robot Sidekick. And then when it comes to the stat points superpowered, you get all your critical attack chance, get all your critical attack damage, and any skill points you got left goes all into Precision. As you get more skill points, if you max Precision out, then you move on to Might.
Loadout
Now for the Loadout, I play with a modded controller, so the way I have this pieced out is not necessarily the way you want it. So I have Smite, Light, Cursed Idol. We also get the Robot Sidekick, Divine Light and Anoint.
If you're Super Speed, you just basically replace the other 2 moves with Vortex Trap and Whirling Dervish. And I recommend being Super Speed. It'll boost your damage by so much.

Gear
First, we're going to look at the gear. For the weapon socket, I'm using Blast Adapter. For the head socket, you want Critical Anoint II and Relentless Precision. For the neck socket, I've got Berserk. For the hands, you always go with Max Damage. You want Penetrating Strikes for the chest and the legs and feet don't really matter. These are the stats I'm working with.
Artifacts
The artifacts, the main 2 artifacts are Transformation Card and Strategist Card, and you can use the Venom Wrist Dispenser. Now, if you're trying to just make an ALT and not necessarily make it your main, well then you can switch some of these out.
You can switch the Strategist Card with something that gives you more stats. This is a Precision build, so we're going to go all Precision on the Adaptive Augments and the Origin Augments.
Generator Mods
Moving on to the base Generator Mods, you're going to want all Precision at the bottom. For support, I've got Restoration because it is Celestial. And of course, Power for the health and power.
Allies
When it comes to allies, the best combat ally I'd recommend players to start off with is Krypto. He's the cheapest to rank up and he does so much damage. I have Oracle-Bot and Cyborg. I'm never going to rank this up. This is not necessarily what you want. For the other 2 allies, I recommend Shazam and Static.
Shazam gives you a Might and Precision buff for 30 seconds every time you activate your combat ally. And for Static, every time you activate your Supercharge, he gives you a critical ability and critical weapon chance for 10 seconds, which is really good.
