Game development is not accomplished in one stroke. Before the official release, each game will leave something on the cutting room floor, they may be some small features or items. And for players, these cut content are like Easter eggs waiting to be discovered, which is actually pretty fun.
As a content-rich ARPG, Elden Ring contains a lot of cut content. Just recently, a dataminer discovered the Vyke cut quest that has been removed from the game.
Many players may not be very familiar with the name Vyke, as he only briefly appeared twice during the entire journey through The Lands Between. Players who defeat him will receive the dropped Fingerprint armor set and Vyke's War Spear.
Admittedly there isn't much mention of him in the entire Elden Ring storyline either. But there is a fact that may surprise you: he's the kneeling knight on the cover.
When you meet Vyke, he will show you that he was once the closest Tarnished to the Elden Lord. As a secondary character, Vyke is on the cover, and we have to guess more of his possibilities.
From the cut content, Gostoc warns that players will see a knight in melted armor around Stormveil, and this knight is Vyke, no other audio can be found. Secondly, in the deleted Vyke Questline, Vyke will be allowed to be summoned by the player as a Stormveil boss, but it is unknown in which bossfight he can help us.
While we don't know why this quest wasn't directly used in the final version of the game, we can't rule out that it will be featured in the DLC. I believe the game developers can bring us a wonderful story and a questline worth completing.
There are many more cut contents of Elden Ring that we know so far, including Mimic Tear Quest, Giant Burning Heads, and more.
