• CoD Modern Warfare 4 Best Guns and Loadouts for Multiplayer

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launched on October 23, 2026, and choosing the right weapon is one of the most important decisions players make when building a competitive multiplayer class. With 33 weapons available at launch, the strongest choice depends on more than raw damage: recoil control, aiming speed, effective range, magazine capacity, and movement all influence how reliably a weapon performs in a real match.

For players looking for Modern Warfare 4 best guns, Han 86 and M4 are excellent starting points for assault rifle users, while ISO Nightshade and VEL 46 stand out for close-range combat. KG-7 Vulcan is a strong dedicated sniper option, and Oris 8.6 offers a different approach for players who prefer precision shooting with a marksman rifle. FiNN LMG and Rezi 12 provide alternatives for sustained fire and close-quarters engagements.

These recommendations reflect early post-launch weapon guides and available launch information as of October 28, 2026. They are practical starting points rather than permanent rankings: Infinity Ward has already published launch fixes and stated that additional weapon tuning is under consideration.

Modern Warfare 4 Best Guns: Quick Weapon Rankings

The following table summarizes the recommended multiplayer weapons by role. The rankings combine early launch-period weapon assessments with practical considerations such as ease of use, combat range, and the type of engagements each gun is designed to handle.

Weapon Category	Recommended Gun	Best Use	Main Strength	Main Limitation
Assault Rifle	Han 86	General multiplayer combat	Versatile performance and an early unlock	Requires sensible attachment tuning
Assault Rifle	M4	Beginners and all-purpose classes	Balanced handling and reliable mid-range performance	Less specialized than dedicated close-range weapons
Assault Rifle	Kastov 762	Damage-focused engagements	Strong individual hits	Recoil requires more control
SMG	ISO Nightshade	Close-to-mid-range combat	Stable handling and mobility	Less suited to sustained long-range fights
SMG	VEL 46	Aggressive rushing	Fast close-range engagements	Demands good positioning and recoil management
Marksman Rifle	Oris 8.6	Precision and aggressive peeking	Potential for one-shot eliminations with upper-chest or head hits	Missed shots can leave players exposed
Sniper Rifle	KG-7 Vulcan	Long-range picks and quickscoping	Range, accuracy, and flexible optic choices	Bolt-action firing and reload timing punish mistakes
LMG	FiNN LMG	Lane control and sustained fire	Large ammunition capacity and sustained pressure	Heavy handling and reduced mobility
Shotgun	Rezi 12	Tight corridors and close encounters	Strong close-range stopping power	Limited effectiveness at longer distances

The most useful takeaway is that there is no single best gun for every situation. Han 86 and M4 are sensible general-purpose choices, but a VEL 46 can be more appropriate for aggressive objective play, while KG-7 Vulcan is better suited to players who want to control longer sightlines.

Best Assault Rifles in Modern Warfare 4

Assault rifles are the most flexible primary weapons for players who move between open lanes, indoor fights, and objective areas. The best MW4 assault rifle should offer a workable balance of damage, recoil, aiming speed, and effective range rather than maximizing only one statistic.

  1. Han 86: Best All-Around Assault Rifle

Han 86 is one of the strongest rifles to prioritize during the opening stage of multiplayer progression. Early launch rankings place it near the top of the assault rifle category, and its early availability makes it especially useful for players who do not want to wait for later unlocks.

Its main appeal is versatility. A well-balanced build can support medium-range gunfights while remaining usable when opponents close the distance. Instead of making the weapon exclusively suited to long-range combat, focus on attachments that improve controllability without making the rifle unnecessarily slow.

  Recommended Han 86 loadout

  Loadout Slot	Recommended Attachment	Purpose
Muzzle	XRK Mil-Tac Suppressor	A practical starting point for a controlled rifle build
  Barrel	SA H86 465mm	Supports a more range-oriented configuration
  Laser	XRK Clutch-LS	A handling-focused option
Optic	ZLR Type C	Provides a clear sight picture
Rear Grip	XRK Justice II Grip	Completes the recommended attachment combination

This attachment combination is drawn from an early launch-period loadout reference. Individual attachment effects and unlock requirements should be checked in the current Gunsmith before copying the build exactly.

Han 86 is particularly worth considering if you are still learning the maps and have not settled on a preferred combat distance. Its role is not to replace every specialized weapon, but to provide a reliable baseline for a flexible class.

  2. M4: Best Reliable All-Purpose Rifle

M4 remains a strong choice for players who value predictable handling and adaptability. It is frequently recommended in early MW4 weapon rankings, making it a reasonable option for both new players and experienced Call of Duty fans who want a familiar rifle setup.

Unlike a specialized high-damage rifle, M4 is best approached as a weapon that can cover multiple situations. It works well as a starting point for players who are still learning sightlines, enemy rotations, and when to challenge a gunfight.

  Recommended M4 loadout

  Loadout Slot	Recommended Attachment	Purpose
Muzzle	XRK Mil-Tac Suppressor	A practical starting point for the build
Barrel	18-inch LE Crosswind	Supports the chosen rifle configuration
Laser	SA LAZ-500	Handling-focused attachment choice
Optic	Mini Reflex	Keeps the sight picture compact
Stock	Demo Dozer Stock	Completes the recommended setup

The listed setup reflects an early launch-period build reference. If you prefer M4's standard configuration, prioritize manageable recoil and comfortable aiming rather than automatically selecting every attachment that improves range.

M4 is also a useful benchmark when testing other assault rifles. If another gun does not offer a meaningful improvement in your preferred range or playstyle, there may be little reason to abandon a familiar M4 setup.

  3. Kastov 762: A Stronger Damage-Focused Alternative

Kastov 762 is worth testing if you prefer a rifle that emphasizes impact over effortless handling. It appears among the leading assault rifle options in several early launch rankings, although it is not as universally easy to manage as a more balanced setup.

The key is to build around its strengths without making its recoil harder to control. A muzzle attachment and grip that improve weapon control are sensible starting points. A laser or stock can then be selected to address the handling characteristics you find most limiting.

Choose Kastov 762 if you are comfortable controlling recoil and prefer a more deliberate engagement style. For players who want a simpler, more forgiving everyday rifle, Han 86 or M4 is likely the better starting point.

Best Sniper Rifle in MW4: KG-7 Vulcan

KG-7 Vulcan is a strong dedicated sniper rifle for players who want long-range accuracy without being forced to remain stationary throughout a match. Early multiplayer recommendations favor experimenting with lower-magnification optics and handling-focused attachments, allowing players to reposition and take shots without relying exclusively on traditional high-magnification scopes.

It is important to distinguish KG-7 Vulcan from Oris 8.6. KG-7 Vulcan is a sniper rifle, whereas Oris 8.6 is a marksman rifle. Both support precision-focused play, but their weapon classes and recommended configurations are different.

  Recommended KG-7 Vulcan Loadout

  Loadout Slot	Recommended Attachment	Purpose
Barrel	Haebang Naseon v.5 26-inch	Supports the recommended sniper configuration
Magazine	6 Round Mag	Defines the ammunition setup
Comb	TT Type 40 Comb	Completes the handling configuration
Optic	KV Corsac Holo or Cronen R808	Provides a lower-magnification alternative
Laser	XRK Clutch-LS	Supports the chosen build

These attachments come from a published launch-period weapon guide. The optic choice is particularly important: a lower magnification can make it easier to track moving targets and transition between sightlines, while a more traditional scope may suit players who prefer holding longer angles.

KG-7 Vulcan's biggest practical advantage is flexibility. You can use it to cover a lane, punish opponents crossing exposed areas, or take a quick shot before relocating. However, a sniper build should not be judged only by its potential damage. If aiming and reloading leave you exposed, aggressive opponents can close the distance before you recover.

For a more complete class, pair the sniper rifle with a reliable secondary weapon and equipment that helps detect or deter flanking enemies. Fast Hands is worth considering if reload timing regularly interrupts your fights. The ideal secondary and perks depend on the mode and the pace of your matches.

Is Oris 8.6 Better Than KG-7 Vulcan?

Not necessarily. Oris 8.6 has received particularly strong early recommendations because of its precision potential and ability to follow up quickly when a shot fails to eliminate an opponent. One published guide describes one-shot potential when shots land at the chest or higher.

That makes Oris 8.6 attractive to aggressive precision players, but it should not automatically be labeled the best sniper rifle. The more useful distinction is:

  • KG-7 Vulcan: Choose it when you specifically want a sniper rifle for longer sightlines and flexible optic configurations.
  • Oris 8.6: Choose it when you prefer a marksman rifle and a more aggressive precision-shooting rhythm.

Both deserve a place in a broader weapon guide, but they serve different preferences.

Best SMGs in Modern Warfare 4: ISO Nightshade vs. VEL 46

Submachine guns are strong choices for players who prioritize mobility, quick engagements, and pressure around objectives. Early launch-period weapon rankings highlight both ISO Nightshade and VEL 46, but the two weapons suit slightly different approaches.

  ISO Nightshade: Best Balanced SMG

ISO Nightshade is a strong choice for players who want an SMG that remains manageable when enemies are not directly in front of them. Nintendo Life's launch guide highlights its stable handling and predictable recoil, making it suitable for players who aim down sights rather than relying exclusively on hip-fire shooting.

  Recommended ISO Nightshade loadout

  Loadout Slot	Attachment
  Barrel	ZLR MAG-Z 9-inch
  Muzzle	FSS Crackdown
  Underbarrel	FSS TAC90 Grip
  Rear Grip	Demo STP-1
  Laser	Expedite Squad-304

This configuration prioritizes a controllable SMG setup. Pair it with Krait P68 sidearm, Flash Grenades or Semtex, and a perk combination such as Quick Fix, Fast Hands, and Blood Rush. These options support a more aggressive rhythm by helping you recover, reload, and move between engagements.

VEL 46: Best for Aggressive Close-Range Combat

VEL 46 is another leading early multiplayer option. It is particularly attractive for players who want to close gaps quickly and maintain pressure during short-range engagements. Early launch rankings place it among the stronger weapons in the overall multiplayer pool.

For this weapon, prioritize a build that preserves mobility while keeping recoil manageable. An extended magazine can be useful if you regularly fight multiple opponents before reloading, while a handling-focused attachment may be preferable if your class depends on rapid movement and fast target acquisition.

The difference between the two SMGs comes down to consistency versus aggression. ISO Nightshade is a sensible starting point for players who want a more controlled experience; VEL 46 is worth testing if your preferred style involves rapid pushes and frequent close-range fights.

Best Other Guns: Oris 8.6, FiNN LMG, and Rezi 12

The strongest multiplayer setup does not always involve an assault rifle or SMG. Marksman rifles, light machine guns, and shotguns can offer a clear advantage when their strengths match the map and objective.

Oris 8.6: Best Precision-Focused Marksman Rifle

Oris 8.6 is worth considering if you enjoy precision shooting but do not want to play exclusively as a traditional sniper. Its reported one-shot potential on upper-chest or head hits rewards accurate aiming, while its follow-up capability offers some flexibility when the first shot misses.

A recommended starting build uses EXP Crosstac 22-inch barrel, Lightfire-5 Quick Bolt, Schlager 7X optic, BR7 Invader stock, and Bruen R7-TC Grip. These attachments form a precision-focused configuration, although players should adjust the optic and handling setup to match their preferred engagement distance.

Oris 8.6 is not necessarily the easiest weapon for beginners. Precision rifles reward accuracy and timing, and an aggressive player who misses a shot can quickly lose the advantage. It is best suited to players who can reliably track targets and recognize when to disengage.

FiNN LMG: Best for Sustained Fire

FiNN LMG is a useful option for players who prefer holding lanes, defending objectives, and maintaining pressure rather than constantly rushing forward. Its larger ammunition capacity and sustained-fire role make it a different proposition from a lightweight assault rifle.

  Recommended FiNN LMG loadout

  Loadout Slot	Attachment
  Barrel	TT Seongun 508MM
  Muzzle	Corvus Lvl-40
  Underbarrel	Bipod
  Rear Grip	Schlager KM60-G
  Optic	Slimline Elite

Bipod is particularly relevant to this setup because it supports a more stable firing position when mounted. This makes the build better suited to controlled defensive engagements than constant sprinting and sliding between enemies.

The trade-off is mobility. Players who frequently need to cross open ground or rapidly change targets may find an assault rifle more practical. Use FiNN LMG when your position, objective, and sightlines allow its sustained-fire role to matter.

Rezi 12: Best Shotgun for Close Quarters

Rezi 12 is designed for close-range encounters, where a shotgun can punish opponents who enter a room or narrow corridor without checking their surroundings. Its recommended launch configuration includes ZLR 12GA Ported 21-inch barrel, ZLR TAC12 PRO stock, ZRK Bygone-39 rear grip, Demo Service-12G guard, and Haebang Bulsae-10 muzzle.

Rezi 12 is best treated as a specialized weapon rather than a universal primary. It becomes less attractive when engagements regularly occur beyond its effective range.

Players who want to experiment with its Apex attachment should check the current in-game description and compatibility before building around it. A shotgun loadout works best when the player deliberately routes through enclosed spaces rather than repeatedly challenging enemies across open lanes.

How to Build a Better MW4 Multiplayer Loadout

A strong gun is only one part of a successful class. Your attachments, secondary weapon, perks, and equipment should support the same combat role instead of pulling in conflicting directions.

Modern Warfare 4 launched with Create-a-Class unlocking at Player Level 4. Before that point, players can use the available default loadouts. The launch roster includes 33 weapons across primary, secondary, and melee categories, giving players several ways to approach different multiplayer situations.

Use the following framework when putting together a class:

Playstyle	Primary Weapon	Build Priority	Supporting Choices
All-purpose	Han 86 or M4	Recoil control and reliable mid-range handling	Flexible secondary and general-purpose equipment
Aggressive rushing	VEL 46 or ISO Nightshade	Mobility, aiming speed, and magazine capacity	Fast Hands and equipment suited to entering contested areas
Precision shooting	KG-7 Vulcan or Oris 8.6	Accuracy, optic choice, and handling	Reliable sidearm and anti-flanking equipment
Objective defense	FiNN LMG	Sustained fire and controllable recoil	Equipment suited to holding routes and protecting positions
Close-quarters combat	Rezi 12	Handling and close-range effectiveness	A secondary weapon for situations beyond shotgun range

The main principle is to build for a specific job. A class designed for objective defense does not need the same balance as one built for aggressive flanking. Likewise, adding range-oriented attachments to an SMG may not be worthwhile if those attachments make it harder to win the close-range fights that define your playstyle.

  Why Weapon Balance Matters?

October 25 launch patch notes said the team was monitoring player-reported issues and considering additional weapon tuning for a future update. The launch notes also describe adjustments intended to make SMGs more efficient at close-to-mid range and to tune powerful one-hit-kill weapons through flinch and damage changes.

That context matters when interpreting early weapon rankings. A gun that feels dominant during the first days after release may become less effective if its damage, recoil, or handling is adjusted. Players should therefore pay attention to patch notes and retest important attachments after substantial balance updates.

Instead of scrapping everything and reconfiguring all options every time the weapon strength tier list changes, it's better to keep a reliable all-purpose setup, supplemented by one or two alternatives for specific scenarios, and improve equipment proficiency through long-term practice in COD MW4 bot lobbies. This approach allows you to adapt flexibly to changes without the constant need to readjust to new weapons.

Final Verdict: Which MW4 Gun Should You Use?

For most players, Han 86 and M4 are sensible starting points because they offer flexible assault rifle options. ISO Nightshade and VEL 46 are better candidates for players who favor close-range pressure, while KG-7 Vulcan is a dedicated sniper choice and Oris 8.6 serves players who prefer precision-focused marksman rifles.

FiNN LMG and Rezi 12 remain useful alternatives when sustained fire or close-quarters stopping power matters more than general-purpose flexibility.

There is no need to copy a single supposedly perfect loadout. Start with a weapon that matches your playstyle, choose attachments that address its weaknesses, and revisit your class after meaningful balance changes. As Modern Warfare 4's multiplayer meta develops, the most effective loadout will be the one that consistently performs its intended role in the modes and maps you play.

• When Can You Get Your First Mount in WoW Forever?

In WoW Forever Beta, the level cap is 30, while the first mount becomes available at level 40. As a result, the mount system has not been fully tested during the beta, although the official team has already outlined its design.

WoW Forever retains the classic World of Warcraft ground-mount experience while changing the relationship between riding training and mount acquisition. Players receive the corresponding mount when they learn riding skills, rather than having to cover separate costs for riding training and the mount itself, as in Classic WoW.

  Riding Training

Apprentice Riding becomes available at level 40 and allows players to ride mounts with a 60% speed increase. The training costs 100 gold before faction discounts. At level 60, players can learn Journeyman Riding, which unlocks mounts with a 100% speed increase for 1,000 gold.

Mounts are particularly important during the leveling process, as they can significantly reduce travel time. You can buy WoW Forever gold to unlock your mount faster, or you can choose to play as a Paladin or Warlock.

Paladins and Warlocks do not need to buy mount training, as the relevant training is included in their class mount quests. This allows both classes to obtain their class mounts for free.

  Racial Riding Skills

Once a character learns Apprentice Riding, they automatically learn the riding skill associated with their race. The corresponding skills are as follows:

  • Human: Horse Riding
  • Dwarf: Ram Riding
  • Gnome: Mechanostrider Piloting
  • Night Elf: Tiger Riding
  • Orc: Wolf Riding
  • Undead: Skeletal Horse Riding
  • Tauren: Kodo Riding
  • Troll: Raptor Riding
  • Skyborn: Gale Strider Riding

Racial mounts generally require both the basic riding skill and the corresponding racial riding skill. To ride mounts belonging to another race, players must first raise their reputation with the relevant faction to Exalted, then learn that race's riding skill for 100 gold.

However, there are exceptions. The following mounts do not require a specific racial riding skill:

  • Winterspring Frostsaber
  • Stormpike Battle Charger
  • Frostwolf Howler
  • Deathcharger's Reins
  • Swift Zulian Tiger
  • Swift Razzashi Raptor

  How to Obtain Mounts?

Mounts themselves are relatively affordable in WoW Classic+, and their speed does not scale with riding skill. The only exception currently is the shop mount Veteran Adventurer's Loyal Companion, which adjusts to either 60% or 100% speed depending on the riding skill the player has learned.

For racial mounts, non-epic versions cost 20 gold before discounts. The first racial mount is free, a new change in WoW Forever that is expected to be granted through a quest or a similar method after players learn Apprentice Riding at level 40.

Once players reach level 60 and learn Journeyman Riding, epic mounts cost 200 gold before discounts. If you own Forever Collection, its included mount has a 100% speed increase, effectively granting you an epic mount for free and saving you 200 gold.

Mounts will appear in Mount Collection tab, just as they do in the modern retail version, and the collection will be account-wide. However, riding mounts from other races will still require the corresponding racial riding skill.

What Mounts Are Currently Available in WoW Forever?

Among the first returning mounts is Venomhide Ravasaur, which originally became available in the retail version during Cataclysm expansion.

Similarly, White Kodo, a recolored mount introduced during Wrath of the Lich King, has also been added to WoW Forever.

Another category consists of mounts that once existed in the game's files but were never made available to players. One example is Golden Saber Cat, which features a classic model with a gold color scheme. Other additions include skeleton horses in different colors and Lavender Kodo.

Beyond returning mounts and racial mounts, this release also introduces completely new mounts that have never existed before, rather than simply bringing unused assets from old game files into the game.

One example is Forsaken Charger, which will also appear in the retail version in a slightly modified and more elaborate design. WoW Forever version, however, has been specifically designed by the official team with a comparatively simpler appearance. It serves as the mount for Undead Paladins.

  Mount Speed Items

Classic WoW's mount speed-enhancing items are still available. Carrot on a Stick increases mount speed by 3%, Enchant Gloves - Riding Skill provides a 2% bonus, and Mithril Spurs, crafted through Blacksmithing, increase mount speed by 4%.

WoW Forever introduces a new item called Gift of Galloping, which grants a 10% mounted speed increase for 15 days of real-world time. It can be obtained for 150 gold at Powderfuse Port in the new Riverglades zone.

There are also region-specific items. Desert Rose trinket provides a 7% mounted speed increase in desert regions, while Winter Saber Hide-Lined Gloves grant a 6% mount speed bonus in Winterspring.

The two-piece bonus from Rider of the Plaguelands set provides a 5% speed increase in Western Plaguelands and Eastern Plaguelands. The set includes a ring, a one-handed sword, and a cloak, although its acquisition sources remain unknown.

Overall, WoW Forever combines the modern Apprentice and Journeyman Riding system with classic racial riding skills, shifting the primary gold sink from mounts themselves to riding training. This hybrid design is a welcome approach and offers a more logical progression system than relying solely on racial riding skills. Once the game officially launches, players will be able to ride all the available mounts and verify how these mechanics work in practice.

• Avoid These Design Mistakes for Better RuneScape Dragonwilds Base Building Results

While combat is an essential part of RuneScape Dragonwilds experience, constructing a reliable base is equally vital for surviving in this unique open world!

In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a base serves as more than just a place to live; it acts as a storage hub for your gathered resources, a home for your workstations, and much more.

So, how can you build a base that balances both utility and aesthetics? This guide will help you find the answer.

  Choosing the right location

It is important to note that you are not limited to a single base in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. If you enter a new region where you plan to consume a significant amount of time exploring, you are free to establish a new base there.

When selecting a site within a region, aim for a location that is close to resource-gathering spots while remaining in a relatively safe area to minimize the risk of your base being destroyed by enemies.

Keep in mind that while you can place beds in any base, you can only designate one as your respawn point. To connect your various bases, you can construct Lodestones nearby.

Using Lodestones for fast travel consumes a Law Rune each time. To stay focused on exploration and combat, you might consider choosing RS Dragonwilds items for sale to quickly replenish your rune supply.

  General building tips

You are free to design your base according to your personal taste and the resources you have on hand; however, there are a few universal principles to keep in mind.

As you construct more bases or temporary structures, your RuneScape Dragonwilds construction level will increase, unlocking access to more advanced building types and foundation materials.

In reality, however, these advanced options offer little tangible benefit for your survival and require significantly more materials to build.

Therefore, unless you have specific requirements, we recommend sticking to oak structures, oak is a very accessible raw material. If you run low on oak, ash wood is an excellent alternative.

Additionally, while green building blocks indicate a secure placement or a completed assembly, some blocks may restrict your build area. Be careful not to remove anchor points, as doing so could cause the structure to collapse.

During the construction process, we recommend using beams as a primary framework; this allows you to monitor the structural stability of your base at all times.

Due to limitations within RuneScape Dragonwilds system, installing roofs can be quite challenging. To avoid unnecessary complications, consider scaling down your roof designs or keeping your structures to one or two stories in height.

  Further tips and details

Although a RuneScape: Dragonwilds base serves a functional purpose, the details matter. Here are some construction tips focused on key building components.

  Windows

While you can certainly use standard windows, you can add extra flair by incorporating additional details.

After setting up the basic window frame, raise the window's position slightly to create space for decorative elements. You can then select specific floor tiles or blocks to use as accents based on your personal preference.

To align these decorative pieces with the window, switch your small wall components to advanced snapping mode; this will allow you to center them precisely.

  Roofs

Roofs are the most complex part of building in RuneScape Dragonwilds. To ensure a roof is both structurally sound and visually appealing, plan its overall appearance before placing any individual roofing components.

This step is crucial, as it determines which components can actually be installed. For instance, if your support pillars are positioned incorrectly, the roof pieces may not snap into place.

It is also advisable to fill in the outer perimeter of the roof first, then work your way inward. This ensures your design is feasible and helps prevent issues with structural stability.

If you dislike the slight overlapping that often occurs with standard sloped roofs, you can refine the outer edges by extending them slightly beyond the walls or pillars, creating a more polished-looking eave.

To achieve this, maintain the same slope angle as your larger structural components, but use smaller-sized pieces instead. Once installed, extend it to the other side and connect it to the existing structures.

  Placement of crafting stations

Beyond the base structure itself, you should also consider the interior space required for the efficient placement of crafting stations. These stations must be positioned within a specific range of blocks to access items stored in your containers.

To this end, when constructing walls, it is best to leave a gap equivalent to the width of one full foundation tile between every two wall sections. When planning areas for crafting stations, try to make greater use of smaller wall components.

In RS Dragonwilds, a smaller base offers less room for detail as the available space fills up very quickly. Conversely, relying solely on the large wall components can make the overall design feel monotonous.

Therefore, the best approach is to build a sufficiently large base while incorporating half-walls or other smaller wall components, this provides more flexibility to add intricate details.

Additionally, when designing a dedicated area for a specific crafting station, you can use consistent materials for the walls and flooring to create a unique, cohesive atmosphere.

There are many subtle nuances to base building that go beyond these tips; while this advice doesn't cover every single detail, it should certainly be enough to help you get your first base up and running!

• Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR Changes: Druid Reworks, Double Swing Buffs and More

Diablo 4 Season 16 is bringing more than a round of damage adjustments. Blizzard’s 3.3.0 PTR introduces substantial changes to Druid skills and Paragon interactions, increases damage for Barbarian’s Double Swing, revises several Unique items, and expands the War Plans progression system.

The Druid changes stand out because they target how skills interact with tags such as Nature Magic and Shapeshifting. Blizzard wants to reduce the advantage of stacking multiple tags and make individual skill identities matter more. For Barbarians, Double Swing receives a straightforward damage increase, while several other adjustments remove conditions that previously limited certain effects.

There are also changes outside combat. War Plans gain more ways to influence activity and reward selection, and Aberrant Cinders no longer reset between Helltides.

Here are the most important Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR changes, what they mean for players, and which details are worth testing before the next season launches.

Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR Changes at a Glance

Update	Confirmed change	Why it matters
Druid skills	Nature Magic and Shapeshifting tags are tied to base skills rather than upgrades and variants	Builds may need different skill and Paragon combinations
Double Swing	Damage increased from 75% to 150% per swing	A substantial direct damage increase
Frenzy	Raging variant's fiery explosion chance rises from 75% to 100% on Lucky Hit	Makes the effect more consistent when it triggers
Limitless Rage Aspect	Higher damage bonus, but now only works with Fury generated by Basic Skills	The stronger bonus comes with a narrower condition
Unique items	Several offensive and defensive values adjusted	Existing gear choices may need another look
War Plans	Players can invest points to influence activities and rewards	More control over endgame progression
Helltides	Aberrant Cinders persist between Helltides	Farming sessions become more flexible

Diablo 4 Druid Changes: Blizzard Targets Skill Tag Stacking

Druid is one of the main focuses of the Season 16 PTR. Blizzard says its goal is to reduce reliance on stacking skill tags, allowing builds focused on a single tag to benefit from four Legendary Paragon boards more effectively. The update also separates the roles of Resolve and Fortify more clearly.

The key change is that skills will no longer gain the Nature Magic or Shapeshifting tags from their upgrades and variants. Those tags will instead be tied to the base skill.

This matters because skill tags can affect more than a tooltip description. They can determine which bonuses apply, how a build scales, and whether a particular Paragon node is worth taking. When an upgrade no longer adds a tag, a setup that relied on that interaction may need to change.

Landslide trades its Resolve upgrade for Overpower

Landslide's former Resolve upgrade is renamed Overpower and receives a new effect. Instead of granting one stack of Resolve when hitting the first enemy, it consumes up to two stacks of Overpower to create an additional pillar for each stack consumed.

That changes the upgrade's role in the skill rotation. Rather than building Resolve through the first hit, the revised version uses an existing resource to increase the number of pillars. Players should check how often they can maintain Overpower stacks and whether the extra pillars translate into meaningful damage against their intended targets.

Earthen Bulwark gains a different defensive profile

The Travertine Bulwark variant no longer grants three stacks of Resolve. It instead extends the Barrier duration by six seconds while retaining the Tectonic Spikes effect.

The spikes also spawn more frequently, with their frequency scaling with Attack Speed.

This creates a different trade-off for builds using the variant. Players lose the previous Resolve generation but gain a longer Barrier and an interaction between Attack Speed and spike frequency. Testing both survival and damage will be more useful than judging the change by either effect alone.

Debilitating Roar and Blood Howl also change

The Increased Duration upgrade for Debilitating Roar now adds 0.5 seconds for each Resolve stack, replacing the previous flat duration increase and additional bonus while Fortified.

Blood Howl also gains a baseline effect: for every 10% of Maximum Life that would have been overhealed, the player gains a stack of Ferocity.

These adjustments make Resolve and Ferocity more relevant to how certain Druid skills function. Their value will depend on how reliably a build generates the required stacks and whether the new effects fit its rotation.

What Druid players should test: Review the skill tags on your current setup first. Then compare the relevant Paragon nodes and skill variants. A build that previously relied on an upgrade to supply a tag may no longer receive the same bonuses, even if the skill itself still appears familiar.

Barbarian Buffs: Double Swing Damage Doubles

Barbarian's Double Swing receives one of the clearest numerical changes in the PTR. Its damage increases from 75% to 150% per swing, while the Slice and Dice variant loses its Cast Speed penalty.

The combination is worth testing for players who use Double Swing, but it does not automatically make the skill the strongest Barbarian option. Overall performance still depends on attack frequency, resource generation, gear, and the other multipliers available to the build.

Several other Barbarian adjustments are also worth noting:

  • Frenzy — Throwing Variant: Iron Shrapnel chance increases from 30% to 50%.

  • Frenzy — Raging Variant: The fiery explosion's Lucky Hit chance increases from 75% to 100%, and the explosion now triggers on the target instead of the player.

  • One-Handed Mace Expertise: Its damage bonus now affects Bosses, and its Lucky Hit effect no longer requires hitting a Stunned enemy.

  • One-Handed Sword Expertise: Its Lucky Hit effect no longer requires hitting a Crowd Controlled enemy.

  • Ambidextrous Glyph: Its damage bonus increases from 8%[x] to 15%[x].

The removal of specific enemy-state requirements may be just as important as the numerical buffs. Effects that previously depended on a Stunned or Crowd Controlled target can become easier to use consistently when those restrictions are removed.

Limitless Rage receives a larger bonus with a stricter condition

The Limitless Rage Aspect now works only with Fury generated by Basic Skills. In exchange, its damage bonus increases from 0.15–0.2%[x] to 0.5–0.75%[x].

This is not a universal upgrade. The higher bonus may appeal to builds that generate Fury through Basic Skills, while setups relying on other sources need to account for the revised condition.

Barbarian players should compare the Aspect against their actual resource generation rather than choosing it based on the larger percentage alone.

Unique Item Changes: Offense and Defense Both Matter

The PTR revises several Unique item bonuses. Some receive more damage, while others lose part of their previous offensive or defensive value.

  Item	PTR change
Moonrise Aspect	Damage bonus increases from 40–60%[x] to 60–80%[x]
Thundergod's Blessing	Damage increases from 250–300%[x] to 300–350%[x]
Banished Lord's Talisman	Critical Strike Damage decreases from 130–150%[x] to 80–100%[x]
Temerity	Barrier duration decreases from 8 seconds to 4 seconds
Messerschmidt's Reaver	Forced affix changes from Life on Hit to Critical Strike Damage Multiplier

These changes have different implications depending on the build.

The higher damage values on Moonrise Aspect and Thundergod's Blessing make them worth comparing with alternative offensive options. Banished Lord's Talisman loses a considerable amount of its listed Critical Strike Damage bonus, so players using it should reassess its place in their setup.

Temerity's shorter Barrier duration is a defensive change rather than a simple damage adjustment. Players who rely on its Barrier for survivability should check whether their build can maintain adequate protection under the revised effect.

Messerschmidt's Reaver also changes the type of affix it guarantees. Whether that is an improvement depends on the build's existing stats and which affixes are most valuable to its damage calculation.

The important point is to evaluate the whole item, not just one number. A stronger offensive bonus may be offset by a less useful affix or by the loss of a defensive effect that the build depends on.

Diablo 4 War Plans: More Control Over Endgame Activities

Season 16 introduces War Plans Tactics, a progression system that lets players influence which activities and rewards are more likely to appear in their War Plans.

Players earn points by completing War Plans activities and can invest up to three points in an activity node to increase its likelihood of appearing. Reward nodes can also be upgraded to improve the chances of receiving preferred rewards, including armor, weapons, jewelry, Obducite, gold, gems, activity keys, Horadric Cube materials, and Talisman items.

This gives players more control over their endgame progression. Instead of treating every activity and reward as equally desirable, they can tailor their War Plans toward the content they prefer and the materials they need.

Marks of Wisdom allow War Plans respecs

Completed War Plans award Marks of Wisdom, a new currency used to change nodes in the War Plans Tactics tree and individual activity trees. This replaces the use of gold for those changes. During the PTR, Marks of Wisdom are capped at 20.

For players who frequently switch farming goals, this is worth paying attention to. The ability to change activity and reward priorities makes the system more flexible, although the practical benefit will depend on the final cost and available choices.

Tyrael's Boons adds seasonal progression options

Season 16 also introduces Tyrael's Boons, a season-specific War Plans tree available to all seasonal players. It does not require ownership of the Lord of Hatred expansion.

The tree offers paths that affect rewards and progression, including options related to the Purveyor of Curiosities, Forgotten Souls, gold, experience, Obols, and crafting materials. Players can earn up to 132 points, enough to select up to four of the six available selections across the four paths.

Tyrael's Boons does not replace Seasonal Blessings. Blizzard says Seasonal Blessings will become a static system with the same five Blessings offered each season.

For players planning their progression, the main question is which path best supports their current goal: improving item acquisition, gathering materials, or earning more currency and experience.

Helltide Changes: Aberrant Cinders No Longer Reset

One of the most practical gameplay adjustments affects Helltides. Aberrant Cinders no longer reset between Helltides, so players no longer need to treat the end of each event as an automatic reset of their accumulated Cinders.

Helltide start times are also changing:

  • Base-game zones start on the hour.

  • Expansion zones start at the half-hour mark.

Blizzard says this schedule ensures that a Helltide is always active in non-expansion zones.

For players who farm Helltides regularly, the Cinder change offers more flexibility in how they manage their sessions. The revised start times also make it easier to plan around the zone they intend to farm.

This is a quality-of-life improvement rather than a direct class buff, but it matters to players who spend a significant amount of time collecting materials and rewards.

New Horadric Items and Endgame Activity Updates

The Season 16 PTR also previews Horadric Diablo 4 Items, a new type of Legendary item designed to create synergies between equipped gear and Talisman set bonuses.

Jewelry with Horadric affixes can increase the set-bonus count for a specific Talisman set by one. This means a player may be able to activate a two-piece set bonus with only one matching charm equipped, freeing another slot for a different bonus or combination.

Armor and weapons with Horadric affixes can add effects that activate when the player has at least a two-piece bonus from a specified Talisman set. These effects can include skill ranks, additional damage, or defensive benefits.

This system could make gear combinations more flexible, but its final value will depend on the available affixes and the combinations players can assemble. The PTR is the right time to test how the new effects interact with existing equipment rather than assuming every combination will be useful.

Blizzard is also reworking Infernal Hordes, the Pit, and Lair Boss activities. The PTR includes a new dual-threat encounter in which the Fractured Reaper joins the Corrupted Reaper in Pandemonium.

These endgame changes are important because build performance is only part of the picture. The activities players choose, the rewards they pursue, and the gear synergies available to them all affect how a character develops.

Should You Change Your Build for Season 16?

The PTR is a good time to experiment, but players should avoid making permanent build decisions based on a single damage number or an unverified report.

Start with the changes that affect your current character directly. Druid players should review their skill tags and Paragon boards. Barbarians using Double Swing should compare the revised skill against their current rotation. Players using affected Unique items should check whether the new bonuses still support their build.

When testing a change, keep the comparison consistent:

  1. Use the same target and similar combat conditions.

  2. Keep gear, skill ranks, and other bonuses unchanged when comparing one effect.

  3. Check both damage and survivability.

  4. Confirm the in-game tooltip before relying on a reported change.

  5. Reassess the full build after changing a skill, Aspect, or Unique item.

This approach is more reliable than assuming a larger percentage always produces a stronger character. The effect of a change depends on how it interacts with the rest of the build.

When Does the Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR End?

Blizzard's official schedule lists the 3.3.0 PTR as running from October 27 at 10 a.m. PDT through November 3 at 10 a.m. PST.

The PTR is intended to collect player feedback, identify bugs, and refine balance before the next season launches. Blizzard may still adjust values or fix interactions after reviewing test results, so PTR numbers should not be treated as guaranteed final balance.

Players who encounter unexpected behavior can report it through the in-game feedback tool. Reproducible results and clear descriptions are more useful than conclusions based on a single unusual interaction.

For the complete class, gear, and gameplay details, read Blizzard's official The 3.3.0 PTR: What You Need to Know.

  Final Verdict

The Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR changes affect both character builds and the way players approach endgame progression. Druid's revised skill tags could change how its Paragon boards are planned, Double Swing receives a substantial damage increase, and several Unique items are being adjusted. Meanwhile, War Plans offers more control over activity and reward selection, and Helltide farming becomes more flexible with persistent Aberrant Cinders.

For players preparing for Season 16, the most useful next step is to test the changes that affect their own build. Check revised skill tags, compare item bonuses, and see how the new progression systems fit your goals. The PTR provides a chance to identify what works before the balance changes reach the live game.

• MapleStory Classic World Brings Halloween Event: How to Collect Candies and Unlock Pumpkin Basket Fast

MapleStory Classic World's first Halloween event officially began on October 28th at 00:00 UTC and will continue until November 18th at 23:59 UTC. This is its first major event since its grand launch, with extremely low entry requirements: any character of level 10 or higher can join.

The core of the event revolves around the NPC Malady. Players need to collect Halloween Candies to exchange for the ultimate commemorative weapon, Pumpkin Basket - a weapon with no class restrictions and a movement speed bonus.

For players still in the early game who need to carefully allocate MS Classic World mesos, this practical equipment that can be obtained without additional investment is especially worth prioritizing.

  How to obtain Pumpkin Basket?

To obtain the event-exclusive weapon, Pumpkin Basket, players need to complete two main steps: first, collect Halloween Candies and give them to the NPC; then, complete the hidden quest Trick or Treat!, delivering three bags of candy to three children on Victoria Island.

  Collecting Halloween Candies

During the event, players who reach Level 10 can go to Henesys or Kerning City, find the NPC Malady, and accept Halloween Candies quest.

The quest requires players to collect 100 Halloween Candies by defeating monsters and then return to Malady to deliver them. Candies can drop from any monster of level 10 and above, so players can choose suitable hunting areas based on their character's strength, without needing to specifically challenge high-level enemies to complete the quest.

For players new to MSCW, a more efficient method is to collect candies while leveling up daily. This allows for steady progress and avoids frequent trips between different maps to find quest materials.

Collecting 100 Halloween Candies and returning to Malady to complete the quest will unlock subsequent hidden quests.

Complete the hidden quest Trick or Treat!

After accepting the hidden quest Trick or Treat!, Malady will divide the candy you've collected into three bags and ask you to deliver them to three children spending Halloween alone on Victoria Island.

However, Malady won't reveal the children's identities or locations, only providing clues to their locations:

  • Dark Tunnel
  • Open Field
  • High Ground

While the exact map coordinates of the three children haven't been confirmed yet, combining the clues with the terrain of Victoria Island, players can prioritize exploring areas matching the descriptions and keep an eye out for any child NPCs nearby to improve their search efficiency.

After delivering all three bags of candy, return to Malady for the final dialogue to receive Pumpkin Basket.

Pumpkin Basket Attributes and Practical Value

The Pumpkin Basket is a tradable one-handed sword that can be equipped by characters at Level 10. Its specific attributes are as follows:

  • Weapon Attack: +27
  • Speed: +3
  • Attack Speed: Fast
  • Upgrade Slots: 7

For characters level 10-14, this weapon provides consistent attack power and additional movement speed, making it quite practical as early-game transitional equipment.

For Warriors, its advantages are even more pronounced. While the level 10 Longsword has similar attack power, it requires 20 STR to equip. In contrast, Pumpkin Basket allows players greater flexibility in allocating attribute points early on and allows them to enjoy the combat benefits of the equipment sooner.

Furthermore, as it is an exclusive reward from the Halloween event, Pumpkin Basket still holds some commemorative and collectible value even if the character later acquires a stronger weapon.

  Other Event Items

  Orange Slime

In addition to the questline, this event introduces Orange Slime in four main towns of MapleStory Classic World. During the event, players can look for them at the following locations:

  • Henesys
  • Ellinia
  • Kerning City
  • Perion

Note that Orange Slime will not remain on the map indefinitely; they will disappear approximately 3 minutes after appearing. Therefore, players should deal with these event monsters promptly upon encountering them.

Defeating Orange Slime also offers a chance to obtain Halloween Candies and Malady's Candy series recovery items.

  Malady's Candy

Malady's Candy contains three types of candy, used to restore HP, MP, or both simultaneously.

  • Red Malady's Candy - Restores 600 HP
  • Blue Malady's Candy - Restores 450 MP
  • Green Malady's Candy - Restores 300 HP and 300 MP

These three types of candy are tradable, but each item has a stack limit of 100. Players should be mindful of their inventory space while collecting to avoid hindering the pickup of other loot due to an excessive number of items.

  Efficient Route and Precautions

For level 10 characters who have just completed their first job advancement, it is recommended to prioritize maps with dense monster populations and a relatively small level gap. If the goal is simply to farm 100 Halloween Candies, consider the western Perion wilderness map or the low-level monster areas around Henesys.

Additionally, if you encounter Orange Slime during the event, prioritize dealing with it. Although it is more dangerous than regular monsters, defeating it has the potential to simultaneously advance your Halloween Candies progress and replenish your recovery candies, making it a win-win wilderness objective.

Overall, MapleStory Classic World Halloween event is definitely worth participating in for beginners. Not only can you get Pumpkin Basket as an early-game weapon, but you can also collect other holiday rewards. Take advantage of the event before it ends!

• 5 Gunfight Habits That Win More Fights in CoD MW4

Winning a gunfight in CoD Modern Warfare 4 is rarely just about who has the fastest reaction time; it's about who is better prepared before opening fire and who can maintain a clear, strategic mindset amidst the chaos of combat.

Below, we explore five methods to help you win as many gunfights as possible in MW4:

  1. Pre-aiming (Centering)
  2. Leveraging Rotational Aim Assist
  3. Breaking Down Chaotic Encounters Into 1v1s
  4. Using Movement to Alter the Pace of an Engagement
  5. Utilizing Supine Slide to Disrupt Opponent Predictions

  1. Pre-aiming (Centering)

Centering - keeping your crosshair positioned correctly - is the foundation of your entire gunfight strategy.

As you move around the map, your crosshair should remain near the center of your screen, pre-aligned toward areas where an enemy is likely to appear. Avoid looking down at the ground or leaving your crosshair in irrelevant spots.

When navigating corners, doorways, stairwells, or corridors in MW4, anticipate which side an enemy is most likely to emerge from and position your crosshair accordingly.

This way, when an enemy enters your field of view, you'll need minimal (if any) adjustment before you can start firing.

However, such awareness and habits cannot be developed overnight during actual gunfights.

For this reason, you might choose to buy CoD MW4 Bot Lobbies to practice repeatedly - deliberately reminding yourself to maintain the proper height and orientation of your crosshair, and constantly checking to ensure you are aiming exactly where you should be.

Once pre-aiming becomes muscle memory, your preparation time before an engagement will shrink significantly, allowing you to fire with greater decisiveness.

  2. Leveraging Rotational Aim Assist

Many players rely on only one analog stick while shooting, overlooking the value of Rotational Aim Assist.

In Modern Warfare 4, a more effective approach is to strafe (move laterally) while shooting, engaging both analog sticks simultaneously.

Strafing is beneficial because it helps fine-tune your crosshair onto the target while also triggering a stronger Rotational Aim Assist effect, resulting in more stable aim during both close-range and long-range engagements.

Standing still while shooting might seem stable, but it actually makes it harder to benefit from the adjustments provided by Rotational Aim Assist.

It is important to clarify: keeping yourself in motion - specifically by strafing - doesn't mean moving around aimlessly. Rather, it allows you to leverage Rotational Aim Assist while firing, ensuring your shots land more consistently on the target.

Mastering this technique can significantly reduce the number of mistakes you make during gunfights.

  3. Breaking Down Chaotic Encounters Into 1v1s

When approaching high-risk areas like corners or doorways, be careful not to expose yourself to multiple lines of fire simultaneously.

A smarter approach is to use the cover, routes, and positioning advantages available in Modern Warfare 4 to break engagements down into one-on-one duels - or, at the very least, to secure a more favorable angle for the exchange.

Once you have cleared an angle and taken down an opponent, assess your current health and position to decide whether you should recover (heal) or continue pushing forward.

Keep in mind that while jumping around a corner can grant you the initiative and a better field of view, it only improves your odds - it doesn't guarantee a win.

After eliminating an opponent, you must quickly adjust your position to maintain the initiative, ensuring that you continue to face enemies in one-on-one scenarios.

  4. Using Movement to Alter the Pace of an Engagement

In Modern Warfare 4, moving around isn't just about looking flashy; it's about making your actions harder for your opponent to predict.

Jump-shotting is highly effective in disrupting an opponent's aim, especially during engagements around corners.

Waddling (strafing back and forth) is useful when pushing forward, as it keeps you combat-ready while you wait for an engagement.

While slide-canceling is still possible in MW4, it shouldn't be your go-to tactic; save it for occasional use when rounding corners.

More often, you should combine jump-shotting and waddling.

Don't move just for the sake of moving - ensure that every movement serves your combat readiness.

  5. Utilizing Supine Slide to Disrupt Opponent Predictions

The supine slide - transitioning into a prone position immediately after a slide - is often underestimated by many players. It can cause opponents to momentarily lose track of your exact position when you emerge around a corner.

For an opponent who is standing, suddenly encountering a target on the ground forces a delay in their reaction and aim adjustment, making this move an effective surprise tactic in close-quarters combat.

However, don't overuse this technique; it's merely a way to catch your opponent off guard.

To truly become a tough opponent to deal with on the battlefield, you need to integrate the supine slide with other core skills, such as pre-aiming, strafe-shooting, and sound 1v1 engagement strategies.

When incorporating these habits into your CoD Modern Warfare 4 matches, you don't need to master everything at once. Start by focusing on pre-aiming and leveraging Rotational Aim Assist, then gradually layer in these movement techniques.

With a bit of deliberate practice each day, your performance in gunfights will continue to improve and truly stand out!
