In PoE 2 Patch 0.5.5, Spirit and Skill Level are among the most valuable core modifiers on many endgame amulets, making them highly sought-after on the market.

If you choose to trade, a single amulet with these modifiers can be worth several Divine Orbs. You can also craft one yourself. Although the process is somewhat complicated, it can save a considerable amount of currency.

Base: Absent Amulet

The first thing you need is an Absent Amulet. It provides a free Spirit skill, but at the same time, it removes one prefix and one suffix. This means that when all of its modifier slots are filled, it will only have 4 modifiers instead of the 6 modifiers available on a normal amulet.

The free Spirit skill, together with the -1 prefix and -1 suffix, essentially functions as its Implicit modifiers, similar to the Rarity modifier on a Gold Amulet.

It grants a random Persistent Buff Skill for free. This skill would normally require 100 Spirit to be reserved, but with this amulet, you can use it without paying Spirit reservation cost.

If your Absent Amulet rolls Tier 1 Spirit, which grants +50 Spirit, it effectively functions as an amulet with 150 total Spirit. This can provide a huge power boost for a wide range of builds.

Absent Amulets cannot be obtained through normal drops. They are tied to Breach endgame mechanic.

You need to use an Ornate Wombgift in Forms Beyond Understanding passive node on Genesis Tree within endgame Breaches to obtain one.

The skill granted by the resulting base is completely random, which makes Absent Amulets with specific skill combinations highly valuable on the market.

Profit Crafting Tips

If you plan to craft for profit, you need to make sure that the free Spirit skill provided by Absent Amulet matches the + Skill Level modifier you are targeting.

For example, Cast on Elemental Ailment can work with almost any + Skill Level modifier, but it should not be paired with + Minion Skills.

Crafting Process

Turn Absent Amulet Into a Rare

First, make sure Absent Amulet has an Item Level of at least 75, as this is required for the +3 Skill Level modifier to appear.

Start by using an Orb of Transmutation on it. Since Absent Amulet already has -1 prefix and -1 suffix, you cannot continue using an Orb of Augmentation to add another modifier. Instead, use a Regal Orb to turn it into a Rare and give it another modifier.

Roll the Target Modifier With Chaos Orbs

Once the amulet is Rare and has only one modifier, start using Chaos Orbs until you roll T1 Spirit or +3 Skill Level.

If you roll a + Skill Level modifier that does not match what you want, you can simply sell the base, as it can still be valuable to other players.

You can use Craft of Exile to calculate the expected crafting cost. Sometimes, simply getting a base with an existing +3 Melee Skills or +3 Spell Skills modifier for 20 Divine Orbs can actually be more economical.

Add Another Modifier

Once you have the target modifier, activate an Omen of Greater Exaltation and then use a Greater Exalted Orb on the amulet.

If the amulet has Spirit, it is recommended to use a Divine Orb to roll Spirit to 50 first, because once the modifier is Fractured, it can no longer be modified or adjusted with a Divine Orb.

You can use a Preserved Collarbone to Fracture Absent Amulet. The chance of Fracturing Spirit is approximately one-third. If it fails, most of PoE2 currency invested beforehand is essentially lost, and you will have to start over.

Remove Modifiers

After successfully Fracturing the modifier, use an Orb of Annulment to remove the other modifiers, leaving only one modifier.

If you Fractured +3 Melee Skills, you can now add Quality and raise it to +4.

If you Fractured Spirit, it is recommended to wait until you roll + Skill Level with Chaos Orbs before adding Quality. Otherwise, you may roll mismatched modifiers such as +3 Minion Skills or +3 Spell Skills, causing Quality investment to be wasted.

Increase Quality

Jewellery Quality is normally capped at 20%, but after using an Essence of the Breach, the maximum Quality can be increased to 40%. This step does not require an additional Omen because only the relevant modifier can be removed at this point.

Quality can be added with Catalysts, which also come from Breach Genesis Tree.

Fracture 

Fracture Skill Level

If you Fractured + Skill Level, the next step is to use Chaos Orbs until you roll T1 Spirit. Then activate an Omen of Dextral Exaltation and use a regular Exalted Orb. The suffix added at this stage does not matter.

Next, activate an Omen of Dextral Crystallization and use a Perfect Essence of Enhancement. The Essence will only remove suffix and add Spirit, along with Global Armor, Evasion and Energy Shield.

At this point, the crafting process is basically complete. All that remains is to repeatedly use Desecrate and an Omen of Light until you get the final modifiers you want.

Fracture T1 Spirit

If you have already Fractured T1 Spirit, skip the earlier Quality step and instead use Chaos Orbs to roll + Skill Level.

Activate an Omen of Sinistral Exaltation and then use a regular Exalted Orb to add a random prefix. The specific modifier does not matter.

Next, use an Omen of Sinistral Crystallization together with an Essence of the Breach. This will grant Quality, which you should then raise above 34% so that the +3 Skill modifier becomes +4.

After that, you need to remove the maximum Quality. You can use an Omen of Whittling or an Omen of Sinistral Eraser.

If you want to conserve some currency, activate an Omen of Sinistral Necromancy and then use a Preserved Collarbone. Since Spirit has already been Fractured, this will only remove the maximum Quality.

You will then gain a Desecrate Prefix. This prefix is usually not ideal because what you actually want is All Skills Quality, which is a suffix.

Therefore, activate an Omen of Sinistral Crystallization again and use a Perfect Essence of Enhancement. This removes Desecrate modifier while adding Global Armor, Evasion and Energy Shield. After that, continue using Desecrate and an Omen of Light to roll the desired modifiers.

This process is indeed somewhat complicated, and you need to prepare various types of currency as well as an Absent Amulet base. However, as long as you follow these steps, you can obtain the modifiers you want. The exact amount of currency required will ultimately depend on RNG.

In PoE 2 Patch 0.5.5, the most profitable strategy is Azmeri Spirits Strongbox strategy, with its various rewards capable of flooding your screen.

However, after PoE 2 Patch 0.5.5d, this strategy received some nerfs, or, as the official team put it, it was brought back to a more normal level. Even so, it still ranks among the top strategies compared with other options.

If you have a very large budget, the returns can be extremely high, potentially generating dozens of Divine Orbs per map on average. If your budget is more limited, you can still run this strategy.

Core Mechanics

The core of this strategy is to bring Azmeri Spirits into Strongboxes. Once a Spirit possesses a Strongbox, every Rare Monster inside Strongbox will be possessed by a Spirit.

When these monsters are killed, there is a chance for Spirit to be released, allowing it to return to the area and enter another Strongbox, creating a cycle. The more Spirits you have, the more monsters inside Strongbox can become possessed, and each Spirit grants possessed monsters additional Item Rarity.

Among all Spirits, the one that deserves the most attention is Sacred Spirit, which is orange. When it possesses a monster, that monster is also possessed by another random Spirit, allowing multiple Spirits to stack on the same monster.

These Strongboxes can generate large numbers of Unique Monsters and Rare Monsters possessed by multiple Spirits. They can drop a huge amount of loot, but they are also extremely difficult to defeat. The goal of this strategy is to create Strongboxes like these as often as possible.

Sacred Spirit

There are two special types of Spirits that deserve attention:

• Spirit of the Cunning Fox: Increases the rarity of possessed monsters and can transform Rare Monsters into Unique Monsters.
• Hare Spirit: Monsters possessed by it have a 50% chance to revive, up to 8 times.

Tablets and Waystones

Tablet

You need to use two Expedition Tablets, and both should have the modifier "Expedition contains 2 additional Strongboxes." This is the core source of Spirits and Strongboxes for the strategy.

The other desired modifiers are increased Rare Monster quantity and increased Monster Rarity in the area. Ideally, all three modifiers should be present, but if your budget is limited, you can run Tablets with fewer modifiers.

For the third Tablet, use an Overseer Tablet. Look for the modifiers "Area contains 2 Azmeri Spirits" and increased Monster Rarity in the area.

Waystone

For Waystones, the goal is 100% Monster Rarity. You can craft them yourself instead of trading for them.

You can use an Orb of Alchemy on a normal Waystone to make it a five-modifier Waystone. Do not make it a six-modifier Waystone yet, because you still need to use Omens for further processing.

• Omen of Chaotic Quantity: Prevents Pack Size from appearing.
• Omen of Chaotic Effectiveness: Prevents Monster Effectiveness from appearing.
• Omen of Chaotic Rarity: Prevents Item Rarity from appearing.

After using these three Omens, use Chaos Orbs to reroll the modifiers. This will leave Monster Rarity as the possible result, allowing you to reach 100% Monster Rarity. Finally, use an Exalted Orb to add the sixth modifier.

Atlas Passive Tree

On Atlas Passive Tree, prioritize the following Expedition nodes:

• Explosives continue after 50% of the monsters have been killed
• Additional Explosives, because the primary goal is to open all Strongboxes
• Grass Biome
• 25% chance to add an additional Rune modifier
• 10% chance to add an additional Remnant

Because Grass is selected, the rest of Atlas Passive tree can be adjusted fairly freely. You can choose currency-upgrading nodes, such as upgrading basic PoE 2 currency into higher-tier currency, or upgrading Chaos Orbs into higher-tier Chaos Orbs, which means three Chaos Orbs can drop at once. You can also take increased-effect nodes to gain more loot.

The key reason for choosing Grass is that one node gives areas with Grass Biome an additional 50% chance for an Azmeri Spirit to become a Sacred Spirit. Sacred Spirits are extremely important because they are the only way to obtain more than four Spirits.

Normally, you can only obtain around four Spirits in total from sources such as Overseer Tablets and the map itself. To exceed four Spirits, you must rely on Sacred Spirits. This makes Grass extremely important.

Azmeri Spirits

You need to take On the Wind: Stability node. This is very important. When you encounter a Spirit, it is best to move away from it first, clear the area, and kill the Rare Monsters. Without this node, a Spirit will disappear when there are no players nearby.

Sacred Sap: Commingled causes a monster that becomes possessed by a second Spirit to also be possessed by another random Spirit. This is one of the key nodes for dramatically increasing your returns.

For the remaining nodes, you can choose options that increase the number of Rare Monsters or increase Pack Size. However, avoid Monster Rarity, because Spirits already provide a large amount of Item Rarity.

Master of the Atlas

This strategy requires Jado. Cryptic Keys are essential items for farming this strategy because they allow you to open a Strongbox one additional time. If you farm them yourself, there is no need to acquire additional ones, and the actual yield is usually higher than the amount consumed, making Jado a very suitable choice.

Jado can provide increased basic currency effects. Unexpected Missions can provide additional modifiers, such as more Rarity, more Effect, more Monster Rarity, and larger Pack Size, which means more loot.

Partial Translations has a chance to double the effect of modifiers. Long Days provides 20% more chance to encounter random additional content, which also includes Azmeri Spirits. This can slightly increase the chance of encountering more Spirits.

How To Run The Maps?

The maps should be run in Ocean Biome, because Ocean also counts as Grass. Keep in mind that some areas on islands are Forest or Mountain, which do not count as Grass.

When clearing the map, try not to trigger Spirits whenever possible. Normal Spirits are not a major concern, but when you see an orange Sacred Spirit, try to preserve it. After clearing the entire map, plan a route that allows it to enter a Strongbox.

Once there are Spirits inside a Strongbox, clear a path toward the next Expedition site and transfer all Spirits there.

If you accidentally trigger a Spirit, move away from it and leave it in place. Kill Rare Monsters first, because there is a chance to lose Spirit after it enters a rare monster, and the monster only has around a 25% chance to release Spirit. If you do not obtain a second Spirit, you can simply activate Spirit and bring it into Strongbox.

When entering the map, bring Scrolls of Wisdom, Orbs of Alchemy, Exalted Orbs, Regal Orbs, and Cryptic Keys. Make all Strongboxes Rare and use Exalted Orbs to fill out their modifiers. Only use a Cryptic Key when a Strongbox has "Guarded by a Rare Monster Pack" modifier.

This strategy does not require a large budget, yet each map can still generate more than a dozen Divine Orbs in returns. The downside is that transferring Spirits can be tedious, and a fairly powerful character is required. If you have a suitable build and want to try this playstyle, starting with this low-budget version is highly recommended.
