To enhance mobility, Whirling Slash is highly recommended. This skill benefits from the attack speed bonuses provided by Alternate Gemling Quality; it offers superior control and a wide-area knockback effect, preventing you from getting stuck on individual monsters within a crowd.

Defensively, Arctic Armor provides an armor bonus exceeding 300% while requiring only 30 Spirit to maintain. Scavenged Plating passive skill grants an additional 60% armor value.

It is worth noting that when crafting this Earthshatter Gemling Legionnaire build, you must balance Strength-based and Intelligence-based support gems to maximize the dual benefits provided by Gem Studded mechanic.

Which gear is essential?

First, combining Loreweave with Runeforged Asenath's Gentle Touch gloves creates a chain-explosion mechanism centered around Spirit Gem Herald of Ice.

Next, use Runeforging system to convert a Visage Helmet to the cold element, allowing you to stack charges by killing monsters during map clearing. Once fully stacked, it provides over 800 base elemental DPS.

Furthermore, thanks to the lightning-to-cold conversion mechanic, this type of gear ensures highly reliable freezing, triggering Cast on Elemental Ailment, and allows Herald of Ice chain explosion mechanic to function consistently.

You simply need to acquire some base Visage Helmets and ensure they have decent rolls for attack speed and added lightning damage. Then, use Runeforging feature at Verisium Anvil to modify them.

Each attempt requires approximately 15 Exceptional Verisium and 1 Olroth's Crest of the Sun, with about a one-in-three chance of obtaining the cold version.

Afterward, you can buy PoE 2 currency on IGGM to re-roll the affixes on this gear and see if you can improve it further.

If your budget allows, you could also substitute this with a rare PoE 2 mace, or look for a weapon with at least 800 DPS and an attack speed of at least 1.9.

It would be even better if you could build upon this by obtaining modifiers like +2 to Attack Skill Levels using a Perfect Essence of Battle, or by crafting a suffix that grants a 4% chance to trigger Fissure (or similar effects).

The main advantage of this approach is consistency; you don't need to struggle to ramp up damage right at the start of a map.

However, keep in mind that if you use a purely physical damage mace, your rings will need very high values of added elemental damage.

Otherwise, the reliability of Cast on Elemental Ailment trigger will suffer significantly. Therefore, it is best if the mace itself possesses some elemental damage properties.

Another weapon setup worth trying is to choose the fastest spear you can find. Top-tier spears in Path of Exile 2 can reach an attack speed of around 2.7, though they will require a larger currency investment.

So, if you are on a limited budget, you can use Silk Slippers; high-end versions can still reach attack speeds of around 2.4 to 2.5. The main advantage of this type of weapon is its lower dexterity requirement.

If you also prioritize the build's survivability, you should equip a shield of at least Rare rarity and roll for the highest possible Armor and Life values, as well as modifiers that allow Armor to apply to elemental damage.

Next, to achieve faster map clearing speeds, equip a Sacred Flame Shrine Sceptre in your off-hand, and remember to socket a Fox Idol into your Loreweave to gain a 5% quality bonus.

For the amulet, ensure it has Cast on Elemental Ailment modifier and, crucially, includes a Tier 1 Spirit stat. The remaining modifiers can be whatever you need, such as Life, Resistances, or Attributes.

How to play this build?

If you are using the Earthshatter Gemling Legionnaire to clear maps, cast an Ice Wall immediately upon entering. Once you get close to monsters, use a Warcry to gain Rage and shatter the ice wall, thereby triggering Verglas effect. This strategy works against map bosses as well.

If you encounter long gaps while clearing the map, you can quickly cast an Ice Wall and shatter it using Earthshatter or Infernal Cry.

It is also worth noting that we recommend equipping Morrigan's Insight Lineage Support Gem.

Its function is that if an effect triggered by Cast on Elemental... occurs... If an ice wall created by an ailment effect remains intact, Whirling Slash will shatter it immediately without impeding your movement.

Since you generate ice walls extremely rapidly, it does not matter if some are shattered by Whirling Slash rather than Earthshatter; you will still maintain your Verglas stacks. This setup is designed primarily to ensure your path remains unobstructed.

For certain farming approaches, Tablets are almost indispensable, yet their specific modifiers make all the difference. You first need to understand which Tablets count as well-rolled in POE 2 Patch 0.5.0 meta, and then learn how to farm them effectively.

Tablet Value

A Tablet's worth comes entirely from its affixes. Does a rare Tablet always outshine a magic one? Not necessarily.

The most valuable pieces are rare and magic Tablets that carry perfect modifier combinations, and these can easily fetch several Divine Orbs on the market. Next in line are normal Tablets, because they have few inherent mods, leaving you plenty of room to roll your own preferred stats. At the bottom of the ladder are rare and magic Tablets with mediocre affixes; their mod slots are already occupied.

Best Affixes

Universal Multipliers

These modifiers hold value regardless of which strategy you run or which Tablet type you use:

• Increased monster effectiveness
• Increased rarity of items found in maps
• Increased number of rare monsters
• Increased monster rarity

Among these, effectiveness and item rarity are top-tier and command the highest value, while rare monster count and monster rarity are slightly less desirable on their own.

A single multiplier affix will not sell for a great sum; it must pair with other quality mods to realise its full potential. If a Tablet carries only effectiveness and rarity without any other meaningful stat, it still won't bring in much. Only the combination of a core strategy affix with a multiplier truly elevates the asking value.

You can use currency to reroll the mods, and if you gamble into a premium set, its value skyrockets. If necessary, you can buy cheap PoE 2currency directly at IGGM to complete the affix refinement of tablets.

Abyss Tablet

The central appeal of Abyss Tablets lies in Amanamu's Void farming, with the goal of harvesting Omens of Light. To maximise that, you want to push the number of rare monsters in your maps as high as possible. The single most valuable affix is “map has 20–40% chance to contain four additional abysses.”

Combining that with mods that add extra Rogue Exiles, more rare monsters, or additional abyss encounters further elevates Tablet's worth. Because Abyss encounters spawn enormous crowds of monsters, effectiveness boosts and item rarity also serve as excellent complementary stats.

Breach Tablet

For Breach Tablets, the premier affix is one that causes unstable Breaches to generate three extra rare monsters when they stabilise. If your goal is maximum loot volume, you should focus on modifiers that increase rare monster numbers, raise Breach monster effectiveness, and improve item rarity.

If instead you are chasing Breach-exclusive drops, then more specialised affixes tailored to that mechanic become your priority.

Delirium Tablet

The current meta for Delirium revolves around farming Delirium splinters. Boosting the quantity of rare monsters directly contributes to more splinter drops. In addition, affixes that specifically increase splinter yields are highly prized.

Modifiers that affect unique map bosses also have some use, though they are secondary in importance, while the universal multiplier stats add another layer of profit on top.

Ritual Tablet

The core affix for Ritual Tablets is the one that allows one to three additional re-rolls of ritual altar favours. Rolling a 3 is ideal, but even a 1 still makes Tablet quite valuable.

Combinations that involve omen-related mods are slightly less sought after, yet any pairing of two solid affixes can usually sell for five to 6 Divine Orbs.

Irradiated Tablet

Irradiated Tablets tend to trade for less than the previous types, but they are almost mandatory in any Tablet-farming setup. In most cases, you are better off using these Tablets yourself to farm even more Tablets rather than putting them up for sale.

The affix that increases Waystone drop quantity in maps is not especially valuable by itself, but without it an Irradiated Tablet has little practical worth.

Overseer Tablet

Overseer Tablets occupy the lowest tier of value. They are generally associated with Azmerian Wisp mechanics. The better affixes here include maps containing additional Azmerian Wisps, along with extra Rogue Exiles or bosses.

How to Farm Tablets?

In POE 2 Patch 0.5.0, if you run a set of Tablets all dedicated to one specific mechanic - for instance, 3 Abyss Tablets - your chance of dropping Tablets of that same type actually decreases.

You will still see some drops, but the odds are notably lower. Moreover, you can only obtain a Tablet of a given league mechanic by actually engaging with that mechanic's content. T

his is precisely why Irradiated Tablet setup proves so powerful: since you are not running any mechanic-specific Tablets, the game significantly increases the likelihood of dropping Tablets from all mechanics.

Map Setup

If you prefer not to invest heavily in currency, you can simply use non-corrupted T15 maps with full affixes and focus on clearing them consistently. For those willing to invest more, corrupted T15 maps with Waystone-drop modifiers are a better choice, because corrupted maps combine with certain Atlas passive nodes to yield extra bonuses.

Tablet Selection

You need to run 3 Irradiated Tablets, and each must include the affix that boosts Waystone drop quantity within the map. In the game's code, Tablets are classified as Waystones, so any increase to Waystone drops directly translates into more Tablet drops. Since that affix is fairly common, assembling three such Tablets is not difficult.

Master of the Atlas Passives

Jado stands out as the best choice for this strategy, because it offers several nodes that enhance Waystone or item drops:

• Eastern Knowledge: grants a one-in-ten chance for Verisium Remnants to be rerollable.
• Unforeseen Threats: provides a small chance to reveal an Anomaly Map upon map completion.
• Partial Translations: gives a 20% chance for Tablet modifiers to have double effect.
• Keen Appraisal: increases the drop rate of Expedition items.
• Unexpected Missions: adds a random extra affix when running corrupted maps.

If you are running corrupted maps, you can swap Eastern Knowledge for Unexpected Missions, but feel free to adjust based on your own preferences.

As for any Tablets sitting idle in your stash, you can either sell them directly or put them to use in your own runs. Do not overlook the income they can generate; let them work for you and turn them into Divine Orbs.
