After over a year of multiple beta tests, Mistfall Hunter officially launched on July 29th! This means you can now jump into the game and fully explore this post-war world engulfed by Gilden Mist.

Whether you are a complete newcomer or have already experienced the beta content, mastering key strategies is essential for surviving, or successfully extracting from, this forbidden zone where gods have fallen. We're here to guide you through it.

Choosing the right class

While Mistfall Hunter incorporates the classic scavenge-fight-extract gameplay loop, it is fundamentally an ARPG. Before embarking on your adventure, you'll need to create a character and choose from six distinct classes:

• Sorcerer
• Shadowstrix
• Withered Knight
• Mercenary
• Blackarrow
• Seer

Each class features a unique set of moves, skills, and talent tree configurations. As you upgrade your camp, you'll unlock additional character slots, allowing you to create new characters and experiment with different classes.

For your first character, however, we recommend starting with a class that is easier to master. Take Mercenary for example: its sword-and-shield playstyle balances damage output with defense, and its unique talents allow you to stack attack speed bonuses.

Prioritize completing quests

Given the game's design, Mistfall Hunter's open world offers not only potential PvP threats but also rewarding PvE missions. Beginners should prioritize completing missions in squads (up to three players).

Doing so helps you accumulate Mistfall Hunter Gyldenblod needed for early-game progression while allowing you to familiarize yourself with the map. This preparation ensures you can handle PvP ambushes or encirclements more safely and efficiently later on.

Mission start points are marked with blue exclamation marks on the map; you can plan an efficient route to clear them based on your current location. Of course, if you're playing with teammates, be sure to communicate and coordinate your plans.

Handling bosses with caution

The game's PvE content includes bosses that spawn across various maps, as well as the formidable Mist Lord. Defeating them yields top-tier rewards for the match, but the battles themselves are extremely challenging.

To succeed, you must hone your combat skills by completing other tasks beforehand and master the unique combat mechanics of each boss; otherwise, do not rush into a boss fight. Losing your life means forfeiting all the supplies you have scavenged.

Upgrade your camp promptly

Almost all survival-oriented games provide a base for your character, a place to store supplies, rest, and handle customization. In Mistfall Hunter, this is known as the camp.

The camp features various facilities offering specialized services; for instance, the workshop allows you to upgrade your gear, while Goddess Statue enhances your Spirithorn healing effects.

Mistfall Hunter allows you to upgrade these facilities using collected materials to continuously boost their bonuses. You need to learn the upgrade recipes and identify locations where materials frequently respawn.

Master the map layout

Currently, the available maps in Mistfall Hunter are Hollowgrove and Brandergard. Each map has its own difficulty settings and terrain features; you must consider these characteristics when deciding what gear to bring on your adventure.

It is worth noting that Mistfall Hunter currently supports only solo play and three-player matchmaking. While you can form a duo party and then disable auto-matchmaking, you will ultimately be matched against three-player squads.

Hollowgrove offers Normal and Chaos difficulty levels. Geographically, the corrupted vlley cuts across the central area; the southeast features rugged cliffs and lizard-like enemies, while the southwest is dominated by castles and the undead.

Entry to the normal difficulty is restricted to players with excellent quality gear or lower, and combat is limited to the gear found in your default Combat Bags. The chaos difficulty requires your gear score of at least 800 Gyldenblod.

Brandergard features Normal and Cataclysm difficulty levels. Unlike the nature-dominated Hollowgrove, Brandergard is characterized by vertical architecture and tighter, more confined terrain, placing higher demands on character mobility.

Given this, upgrading your camp, especially the workshop, is crucial; superior stats and more powerful gear are essential to tackling the dangers of these maps.

Special map mechanics

In addition to the above, Mistfall Hunter incorporates specific mechanics into each map that align with the game's extraction-based nature. Take Hollowgrove map as an example: a timer starts as soon as you enter.

You must extract before time runs out; otherwise, Gyldenmist, a mist that rapidly contracts, will trigger, making a successful extraction impossible if you fail to leave in time.

Farming with a purpose

Each map features a specific zone outlined in gold; fighting within this area offers a higher chance of obtaining the most valuable loot, though, naturally, you will also encounter PvE and PvP enemies more frequently.

If you have the capability to handle the challenge, however, prioritizing this zone for farming is the best strategy.

Additionally, specific zones and the containers within them across all maps have a higher probability of yielding certain materials. While overall loot drops involve some randomness, once you understand the patterns, you can plan your farming priorities based on your specific material needs.

It is also worth noting that you can mark required materials as favorites at your camp. Later, when scavenging during a match, the map will highlight these materials with a flag icon, making them easier to locate.

Mistfall Hunter Beta2 test has been officially launched on April 22. This is a PVPVE game that combines Dark Souls and Escape from Tarkov. Players have to collect supplies in complex terrain while guarding against attacks from monsters and other players. Once you are unfortunately killed by them, you will lose all Mistfall Hunter Gyldenblod.

Mistfall Hunter Gyldenblod can be used to exchange supplies in the camp, and can also be used to upgrade the character’s talents. There are currently five classes in the game: Blackarrow, Shadowstrix, Seer, Mercenary and Sorcerer. Novice players are recommended to use Mercenary, Sorcerer and Blackarrow.

Mercenary

Class Features

Mercenary is a leader in melee output, good at using heavy weapons such as great swords and battleaxes, and has high attack power and defense power. Its skills are mostly based on close range damage, which can cause considerable damage to the enemy in battle. Mercenary has strong survivability and can withstand a certain amount of damage. In the team, it usually plays the role of front-line damage resistance and output.

Skill Combination

In terms of skills, you can give priority to skills that can increase the attack range and damage, cause multiple damage to the surrounding enemies, can play a great role in the monster group, or increase the attack power and attack speed in a short period to enhance the burst ability. In terms of talents, it tends to choose talents that increase health, defense and melee damage.

Applicable Scenarios

Mercenary has obvious advantages in close-range combat scenes and is suitable for fighting in narrow terrains, such as inside buildings, caves and other areas. It can give full play to its range attack skills and effectively clear monsters and deal with enemy players. In team combat, Mercenary can charge forward, attract enemy firepower, and create time for teammates to output damage.

Sorcerer

Class Features

Sorcerer is a magic output class, proficient in various elemental magic, and can cause high damage to enemies from a distance. Its attack methods are diverse, and it can use different elemental magic such as fire, ice, and lightning, and switch flexibly for different enemies and battle scenes. Sorcerer has relatively high mobility, and some skills also have control effects, such as freezing and stun, which can effectively restrict the enemy’s actions.

Skill Combination

In terms of skill selection, it can be matched according to combat needs. In terms of talents, focus on talents that increase magic damage, magic crit, and reduce skill cooldown time.

Applicable Scenarios

Sorcerer is suitable for fighting in open terrain, and can make full use of its long-range attack advantage and maintain a safe distance from the enemy to output. In the team, Sorcerer is the main long-range output core, responsible for attacking the enemy’s back-row players and high-threat monsters, while using control skills to assist teammates.

Blackarrow

Class Features

Black arrow is a long-range physical output class, known for its accurate archery. It can use bows and arrows as weapons, with a long attack range and high hit rate, and can accurately strike enemies from a distance. Black arrow has excellent concealment ability, and some skills can make it enter stealth mode, which is convenient for sneak attacks on enemies and avoiding danger.

Skill Combination

Black arrow’s arrows can penetrate the enemy, and there are also arrows that can automatically track the enemy. In terms of talents, give priority to talents that increase arrow damage, attack speed and stealth effects.

Applicable Scenarios

Blackarrow performs well in long-range sniping scenarios. It is suitable for areas with complex terrain, using terrain advantages to hide itself and perform long-range sniping on the enemy. In team combat, Blackarrow can be used as a scout and sniper to detect the enemy in advance and accurately strike the enemy’s key targets, disrupting the enemy’s rhythm.
