  • Elden Ring: Players Speculate About Major Character’s Return In Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC

    Posted: May 05, 2023

Recently, promotional images for Elden Ring’s upcoming Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC were officially revealed, hinting at the possibility of a major character returning. It’s just one image, but it’s packed with enough detail to build some interesting theories about DLC’s story, setting, and characters. One character in particular, Godwyn

They are very important in explaining the lore of Elden Ring, so the release of Shadow of the Erdtree is expected to have a major impact on future story interpretations.

Promotional images for Shadow of the Erdtree only feature one character. It’s just that there are still some disputes among the players about the real identity of the horse riding character,, but the most vocal and convincing one is Miquella

There’s a ton of lore and mysteries surrounding Miquella, making for an interesting addition to DLC. However, the photo also hints at the return of another character who holds as much importance in Elden Ring’s timeline as Miquella’s, namely Prince of Death, aka Godwyn The Golden.

Godwyn May Appear Again In Shadow Of The Erdtree

Of these, the most prominent detail in Shadow of the Erdtree’s promotional image that hints at Godwyn’s possible return is the blackened Erdtree. The Erdtree is oozing a golden fluid, which may indicate that its life is being drained from the second tree that is somehow attached to it. The most critical detail, however, is the dark, gray-like substance that fell from the tree.

It’s reminiscent of Deathroot who ravaged The Lands Between in Elden Ring. Deathroot is derived from Godwyn’s soulless body, but he is now known as Prince of Death, which resides at the root of Erdtree.

Combine this detail with Godwyn and Miquella’s backstory and mysteries, and it’s not hard to find interesting evidence that Godwyn and Miquella will most likely return in some form in Elden Ring’s DLC.

Miquella’s Relationship With Godwyn And Castle Sol

In the actual Elden Ring stories, Miquella’s relationship with Godwyn is rarely stated directly. However, players can also experience the deep friendship between the half-brothers through some items and storylines.

Golden Epitaph Sword mentions a young boy, most likely Miquella, who imbued the weapon with prayers for the true death of his brother, Godwyn. In Castle Sol, players can find a ghost and apologize to Miquella, saying that his companion is still soulless. A giant male statue in Haligtree embraces Miquella and his twin sister, Malenia, perhaps the most telling evidence of the deep brotherhood between the two.

While we have not confirmed that the big guy is actually Godwyn, most evidence supports this conclusion. Additionally, other evidence from Castle Sol suggests that Miquella attempted to restore Godwyn’s soul through a solar eclipse

Although players still don’t know exactly how the magical ritual works, the ritual in Castle Sol failed and Godwyn’s soul was still not restored. It’s possible that Conqueror of Stars Radhan somehow prevented the eclipse.

However, now that he’s dead, perhaps an eclipse will eventually occur, and Miquella can restore Godwyn’s soul, allowing him to return as a potential boss in Elden Ring’s Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC.

In any case, regardless of whether Godwyn or Miquella will really return to Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC, it is recommended that players prepare their equipment and keep practicing. After all, we are about to face such a powerful boss. You can get the right gear by taking advantage of Elden Ring Runes. Plus, you can use the code “CSCCA” to get 5% off, so try it out.

  • Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Maybe Beyond Your Imagination

    Posted: Apr 26, 2023

It has been discovered that the development of Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC may have been going on for a longer period than previously thought. This could suggest that the upcoming expansion may be more extensive and grandiose than what fans were initially anticipated.

Elden Ring, an open-world action RPG game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, was released in February 2022. The game received universal acclaim for its gameplay mechanics reminiscent of the Dark Souls series. FromSoftware recently announced the release of the first major expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, which fans eagerly anticipate for more unique boss and Elden Ring Runes.

However, a recent discovery suggests that the development of this expansion may have been underway for a longer duration than initially assumed, possibly indicating a larger and more ambitious expansion than anticipated. Despite the lack of a release date, fans remain excited about the upcoming release.

Recent findings suggest that fans of Elden Ring may have something more to look forward to. According to the LinkedIn profile of senior FromSoftware developer Kenneth Chan, the upcoming DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, may have been in development for almost a year before its initial announcement in February.

Chan, the Lead Game Designer for the expansion, has been in this position since April 2022, almost 13 months before the announcement. This information was previously undisclosed as the project was labeled as an "unannounced project" on his profile. These details could indicate that the DLC is expected to be larger and more ambitious than what fans originally anticipated.

There are no set rules regarding the length of time required for a DLC to undergo development. The duration of the development process could vary depending on the scale and scope of the expansion's content. For example, a smaller-scale update might take a few months, while more extensive expansions could take development cycles comparable to standalone games.

It is notable that Elden Ring underwent development for roughly five years, starting from late 2016 and continuing until around December 2022.

Although the duration of DLC development varies, the length of the development period for Elden Ring's upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is noteworthy.

While this development time does not suggest that the expansion will have exactly one-fifth of the content of the base game, it does raise the possibility that the expansion may be more substantial than typical DLC. It is thus possible that Shadow of the Erdtree could be closer to a standalone game rather than a typical expansion.

Will Elden Ring Have Multiple DLCs?

It's unclear if Elden Ring will receive more than one DLC, but based on historical data, FromSoftware's previous major titles have all received at least one DLC except for Demon's Souls Remake. The DLCs for Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro varied between one to two per title. So it's likely that Elden Ring will get at least one significant expansion-sized DLC, and potentially a few smaller ones as well. Once more information becomes available, we will update the article accordingly.

    Barbarians Of The Badlands Leaked?

There are rumors and leaks about the first Elden Ring DLC being called Barbarians of the Badlands. It's expected to be a full-scale expansion set outside the Lands Between, where Tarnished were exiled after Godfrey lost his grace. However, this information is unconfirmed, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.

There is no official confirmation about what the Elden Ring DLC or expansion content might entail. Some speculate that it could be about the fearsome Empyrean, Miquella, while others believe it might focus on PVP in the Colosseum of the Caelid area. However, none of these have been confirmed, and until then, they are just guesses that should not be taken as fact.

  • Elden Ring: 5 Things That We Should Know About Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

    Posted: Apr 14, 2023

FromSoftware, the developer of Elden Ring, has officially confirmed the release of the game's first DLC.

While details on the expansion remain sparse, fans are eagerly anticipating new bosses, weapons, armor, and other exciting additions to the vast and immersive world of The Lands Between. As more information becomes available, we'll provide updates to keep fans in the loop. Stay tuned for the latest developments on this highly anticipated expansion.

Fans of Elden Ring are eagerly anticipating the release of its first major DLC expansion and are thirsting for more information on what to expect.

Although there have been limited details released so far, we will monitor announcements from FromSoftware and other sources, and provide a comprehensive guide with all the necessary information you need to know about the DLC's release.

You need more Elden Ring Runes to prepare. As new updates become available, we will continue to update this guide to ensure that you stay current on all the latest developments.

    Elden Ring DLC Name

The official announcement revealed that the first major Elden Ring DLC is titled "Shadow of the Erdtree".

According to the developer's announcement, players are encouraged to "Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together.". Considering that Elden Ring's story revolves around the Erdtree, it is not unexpected to see it included in the DLC's title.

    Elden Ring DLC Consoles

FromSoftware has confirmed that the new Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, will be playable on a variety of platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Steam.

The announcement was made on FromSoftware's Japanese website, but it did not provide any additional information about the expansion. This news is not surprising, as the base version of Elden Ring is already available on all of these platforms.

While there are not expected to be any significant differences in the story or features across platforms for the upcoming Elden Ring DLC expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, players can likely expect the best performance and visuals on Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.

Elden Ring's base version is optimized for peak performance on certain platforms. While it is still possible to have a decent experience on older consoles, it may not be as satisfying as playing it on Windows PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X.

    Elden Ring DLC Release Date

No release date has been announced by FromSoftware for the upcoming Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. However, the developer has confirmed that the expansion is in development.

    Elden Ring DLC Features

FromSoftware has not yet revealed any details about the story or features that will be included in Shadow of the Erdtree, the upcoming DLC for Elden Ring.

However, the developer did release a teaser image depicting a figure in white robes with long blond hair, riding on a mount resembling Torrent, the player's horse in the base game.

Fans have speculated that the figure may be Miquella or Queen Marika, but these theories have not been confirmed. Additionally, the teaser image shows a ghostly terrain with a distinctive version of the Erdtree visible in the distance.

    Elden Ring DLC Price

FromSoftware recently released a free multiplayer DLC update called Elden Ring Colosseum. However, information regarding the pricing of their upcoming single-player expansion DLC Shadow of the Erdtree is still unknown.

While we can't say for certain whether it will be free or not, it is unlikely to have the same price tag as the base Elden Ring game, which originally retailed for $59.99 on all platforms. It's worth noting that the game's price may have dropped since its initial release in 2023.

Historically, FromSoftware's DLC content for previous games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne has been priced much lower than the base game.

For example, Dark Souls 3 had two DLC, which were priced at $15 each, and Bloodborne's DLC was priced at $20. It's unclear at this time how much FromSoftware's upcoming single-player DLC for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, will cost.

It's possible that FromSoftware's upcoming single-player expansion DLC for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, could be priced higher than their previous DLC content, especially if it's a sizeable expansion. However, it's more likely that it will be priced in the range of $20 to $30.

  • Elden Ring: Roundtable Hold May Be Changed in Shadow of the Erdtree DLC (4.28)

    Posted: Apr 11, 2023

FromSoftware's Elden Ring, an open-world RPG already revered as one of the best fantasy games of this generation, is set to expand even further with the release of its highly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

Among the potentially returning locations in the DLC is the Roundtable Hold, a larger hub of Lands Between inhabited by an eccentric group of characters who offer assistance and contribute to the game's cryptic storyline. The Hold serves as a welcome refuge for players, but improvements can be made to the area as well.

The Roundtable Hold is not lacking in size, but its passageways and rooms are designed to be a bit narrow to create a cozy and unique atmosphere. Despite this, finding your favorite vendor or quest-giver is still easy and quick thanks to the good design of the space.

The Roundtable Hold in Elden Ring has a unique and atmospheric design, with the central roundtable glittering gold like one of the many Sites of Lost Grace in the game's overworld. However, if the story becomes any longer, future DLCs may need to make some changes to the space to support new content.

Despite this, the area is still a memorable location that contributes to the game's overall mood and aesthetic.

Wider Story Plot in Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree

The Roundtable Hold, much like other hubs in FromSoft games , serves as a central location that ties together players' quests throughout the game.

This could potentially link the Hold to FromSoft's upcoming DLC, which may explore themes related to the magical Erdtree. By expanding the Roundtable Hold, FromSoft could introduce new NPCs to further the story within the existing structure.

Additionally, Shadow of the Erdtree may incorporate any cut content from Elden Ring's DLC, making the Roundtable Hold a seamless way to connect the major campaign and DLC.

Throughout the Roundtable Hold, players will find that some rooms are dedicated to special NPCs, while others remain empty until later in the story.

One notable NPC is Hewg, a Misbegotten blacksmith who operates a forge in one of the hallways. After meeting Roderika in Limgrave, players can bring her back to the Hold where she moves in near Hewg, unsure of her future in Lands Between.

As players progress through Roderika's questline, Hewg trains her in spirit-tuning, which allows players to upgrade their Ash summons with many Elden Ring Runes. If you need it, remember the code “CSCCA”, which will help you get 5% off Elden Ring Runes or Items. Interactions like these not only provide rewards, but they also connect encounters from the open world to the hub. Such story and character expansion in Shadow of the Erdtree could similarly enrich the gameplay experience.

While it's not necessary for Shadow of the Erdtree to overcrowd the Roundtable Hold to tell a good story, the DLC could potentially use this hub to make the area feel less empty.

FromSoft has the option to add more relevant NPCs or expand the customization options available to players, building on the success of in-depth armor customization in Elden Ring. The game already has various factions with their unique styles that could also be extended to include collectibles, treasures, or trophies in hub rooms.

In a game as depressing as Elden Ring, the Roundtable Hold may serve as an excellent spot for players to express themselves and create a personalized refuge from the harsher realities of the Lands Between.

Combat in Elden Ring can be incredibly challenging, and if Shadow of the Erdtree aims to offer a lasting experience, the Roundtable Hold presents an opportunity to relive those hard-fought battles.

While most of the hub's layout is already established, FromSoft could potentially expand the location's content offerings to create an even more immersive experience. This could involve showcasing weapons, treasures, or boss-related relics for players to collect and admire.

By utilizing the Roundtable Hold to highlight player achievements or campaign milestones, FromSoft could breathe new life into this already impressive location.

  • Elden Ring: Speculation About Which Characters Will Return In The New DLC

    Posted: Mar 24, 2023

While we’re all waiting for the new Elden Ring DLC, which characters are you most looking forward to returning in the latest expansion? Whether it is an NPC or a boss that has been killed, how do you think they will return to this new story? For this part, I will also have some guesses.

    Godwyn

First off, I look forward to Godwyn the most. I really can’t wait to see Godwyn back and players taking on this monster again. It’s going to be really exciting. In fact, in Dark Souls, I liked Ludwig, Gwyndolin, and Blaidd monsters that appeared in special ways at the beginning.

Especially Ludwig, who suddenly appeared when I was exploring the dungeon, and my partners and I took a lot of effort to kill him, left a deep impression on me.

But after I discovered Godwyn, I realized that the developers had been missing some Bloodborne stuff from previous Elden Ring monster designs. These bosses are very powerful, but also as scary and thin as Ludwig, without three-dimensionality. And Godwyn gives me a completely distinct feeling. I like its design.

Godwyn is different from other bosses in that he is actually a noble hero gradually transformed into a terribly deformed monster. Godwyn hides a lot of secrets, which is one of the reasons why I want to fight him.

It would be even better if Godwyn could speak after the update. He is different from those cold beasts before. He can let more people know its story, and die with more dignity. Actually, rather than fighting Godwyn, I’d rather have him come back differently.

    Millicent

Second, I would also like Millicent to return as a DLC. I very much hope that she can be reborn from the flowers left behind by her betrayal. Millicent transforms from a mere bud into a gorgeous and dangerous flower after a desperate betrayal. I hope she returns to Elden Ring as a stunning scarlet Valkyrie.

But if Millicent is indeed reborn, then Malenia will most likely return with it. After all, when we defeated Malenia, we didn’t receive any information about his death. This will mean we have to face the terrifying boss Malenia once again. It’s really exciting and scary.

    Miquella

And Miquella, I’ve always really liked his skills. But if Miquella returns this time, we will also enter Miquella’s dream again. Which also means we’ll meet Demi Gods again.

Assuming we can talk to all Demi Gods before they go mad with power, that could go a long way toward solving this Elden Ring mystery. We were even able to meet up with Marika and do quests in Elden Ring to collect rewards. But all of this will turn into bubbles as the dreams shatter. While this is all speculation, it also offers a new way to play for all things Elden Ring.

Just like in True Souls, players can take an item from the dream, give it to Malenia, and Malenia will join you and fight by your side.

But players can also get lost in Miquella’s dreams. Players will have no way to leave the dream, or even choose to die. They can only exit and restart the game. Players don’t worry, all the results are the same. We can still challenge the new Demi Gods and get rewards.

No matter which character returns, I believe it will bring players an unfamiliar experience. Players should wait patiently for the arrival of the new DLC of Elden Ring, and hope that the updated content will not disappoint the players.

Players can also upgrade gear by acquiring enough Elden Ring Runes to get ready. In addition, you can also use the code “CSCCA” here to get a 5% discount, so hurry up and try it out.

  • Elden Ring: Will We See DLC After The Anniversary?

    Posted: Feb 27, 2023

Elden Ring released on February 25, 2022. And it has been a year and two days since it was released. Since then, its sales of copies have reached 20 million and won Game of the Year at The Game Awards. On February 24, it also won Game of the Year at the DICE Awards. It's all-time greatness and obvious.

However, it's been over a year since Elden Ring was released. Although Elden Ring has some PvP updates and many balance patches, its DLC has not yet been released. In fact, most of FromSoftware's games have a very long history of DLC offerings, but they have not announced the DLC for Elden Ring. Originally, the sales volume of Elden Ring has reached 20 million, so you can use your imagination for a certain proportion of DLC sales.

We've talked about this before, but we've deviated from our plans at this point in terms of FromSoftware announcing past DLCs for other games. Next, I will introduce you to the previous breakdown:

    • The release time of Dark Souls is September 11, 2011. Thirteen months later, its first DLC, Artorias of the Abyss, was released on October 23, 2012.
    • The release time of Dark Souls 2 is March 11, 2014. Four months later, Crown of the Sunken King which was its first DLC was released on July 22, 2014.
    • The release time of Dark Souls 3 is March 24, 2016. Seven months later, its first DLC, Ashes of Ariandel, was released on October 25, 2016.
    • The release time of Bloodborne is March 24, 2015. Eight months later, its first DLC, The Old Hunters, was released on November 24, 2015.
    • Demon's Souls and Sekiro never had paid expansion DLC.

In my opinion, the DLC announcement was a tease of something to come, which also happened earlier. Six months after Bloodborne's release, the Old Hunters DLC was announced. Dark Souls 2 has announced its own DLC just three months after its release.

To be honest, FromSoftware never officially announced that Elden Ring was getting DLC. They will always hint at you that there will be "more" Elden Rings in the future, but the meaning is so vague that you can't guess it. Because what's in it is likely to be related to the PvP arenas they have released and the inevitable sequel in the next few years. However, given their long history, it's unusual for Elden Ring not to announce DLC for a year after its release.

Elden Ring is bigger than any FromSoftware game before it. So, if Elden Ring's DLC is made, there's a chance it'll be bigger as well. Well, FromSoft needs more time to make it out. Whenever it decides to arrive, you'll be in the game for more content. However, based on past releases, FromSoft hasn't announced or released anything about the DLC until now, which is really a bit unbelievable.

Elden Ring's Anniversary is on February 25, 2023. However, FromSoftware didn't make any big announcements about Elden Ring's DLC on this day. Hopefully FromSoftware will release information about the DLC sooner rather than later.
