Lair Key & Greater Lair Key

In Season 13, to streamline the process based on the tier of the Lair Boss, the materials required to unlock the corresponding boss chests have been standardized into two specific types of keys: the Lair Key and the Greater Lair Key.

The former - Lair Key - is the essential material needed to open the Hoards of Initiate Lair Bosses. Lair Keys can be obtained exclusively by unlocking Key Spoils in War Plans, acquiring Tortured Gifts during Helltide events, completing World Boss and Legion Events, earning Cache Rewards from the Tree of Whispers, or farming the Kurast Undercity. A crucial prerequisite to note is that all keys will only drop on Torment difficulty!

Now, to open the Hoards of Greater Lair Bosses, you will need to acquire a Greater Lair Key. The primary method for obtaining these advanced keys is by defeating Initiate Lair Bosses.

Betrayer's Husk

In D4 Season 13, the primary method for obtaining the Betrayer's Husk is by defeating Mini Belial. This boss has a chance to randomly appear when players open the loot chests after defeating either an Initiate or Greater Lair Boss. These Husks serve as keys (consuming 2 per attempt) to unlock Belial's Hoard, a vault containing high-tier loot, including Mythic Uniques.

Lair Boss Encounters: Travel to the corresponding Lair and defeat the boss. After the battle concludes, Mini Belial has a chance to appear; defeating him will yield the drop.
Target Farming: Repeatedly challenge Greater Lair Bosses to maximize the probability of Mini Belial appearing.
Seasonal Events: Certain seasonal chests or rewards may also contain these rare boss materials.

Crux of the False Prophet

Introduced as a new Lair Boss material in Season 13, the Crux of the False Prophet serves as the key required to unlock the Hoard of the brand-new Mephisto boss encounter. This item is awarded directly as a Capstone Reward upon completing the final stage of the Seasonal Journey. This requires you to defeat the Echo of Lilith on Torment VIII difficulty or higher.

Runes

Runes are socketable items that can be used to enhance equipment and serve as a valuable currency for crafting specific Mythic Unique. However, please note that to unlock and use the runes, you must own Vessel of Hatred expansion.

Runes can be slotted into two-slot equipment to form a Runeword, but you must use one Rune of Ritual and one Rune of Invocation. Rune of Ritual tab is located at the bottom, and Rune of Invocation tab is located at the top, allowing you to group the runes together.

This particular variant aligns with the summoner archetype, allowing you to engage in combat by summoning and utilizing demons. It grants you Summon Ae'grom skill, which passively enables you to summon Vile Children to attack your enemies.

Once activated, this skill transforms into Command Ae'grom, allowing you to further summon Lesser Demons to unleash burst damage.
