Dark And Darker Early Access Season 7 Trailer Preview: What New Enemies And Items Are There?

Posted: Aug 28, 2025 Views: 54

Dark and Darker's EA Season 7 will release on September 23, 2025. With the arrival of a new season, everything players currently own will be wiped out: your Dark and Darker gold, levels, and collected items will all be lost.

Dark and Darker EA has experienced significant player churn in the year since its release, with many players and streamers reporting that the current content lacks reward and freshness, feeling more like repetitive tasks and tiresome.

However, the new season is said to return to its roots, making it as fun as the first season. A trailer for Season 7 was recently released, revealing that the next season will revolve around a shipwreck and feature new monsters, enemies, and weapons.

Dark And Darker Early Access Season 7 Trailer Preview: What New Enemies And Items Are There?

EA 6.9

Before Season 7 officially launches, there will be a brief EA 6.9, a four-week mini-season transitional update. It is not a major update with any major new content. However, character levels, items, inventory, quest progress, and more will still be reset.

In addition to new equipment and rewards, the good news is that Dark and Darker gold required to unlock additional storage slots has been significantly reduced. Additionally, significant balance changes have been made to Druids and Mages, along with adjustments to the item stat system. Players can consider this a fast-paced, data-gathering season, with major new content expected in Season 7, starting on September 23rd.

Trailer Content

The new map features a pirate-themed shipwreck environment, including shipwrecks and underwater sections, complete with fog effects. The map appears more open and fluid than before, potentially moving away from the rigid grid-like modular wall design of the past and perhaps with a change in how boundaries are determined.

Shipwreck Section

The trailer shows the shipwreck's masts, various above-and-underwater structures, coral, anemones, seagrass, and more. You and your party can explore the shipwreck, but you'll obviously also encounter enemies like pirates and murlocs.

Some monsters will throw weapons like Francesca's throwing axes instead of using bows. New pirate humanoid monsters. They attack with a classic pirate-style scimitar with a domed gauntlet. This weapon is also a melee weapon available to players, as the player in the trailer also attacks with a wooden shield in one hand and a scimitar in the other.

You'll notice that the monsters' animations seem to have improved somewhat, as the developers are reportedly heavily revising or even reworking their model assets, including rerigging and reanimating them. This suggests they're focusing on enhancing the game's originality and quality rather than simply using off-the-shelf assets.

Underwater

The underwater areas aren't just for decoration, because players can swim around. Furthermore, there are glowing anemones and vertically floating coffins in the underwater areas. These coffins could be decorative items, loot points, or monster spawn points.

This may indicate that players will need to swim between islands or structures to move around, dealing with monsters along the way. This suggests that shipwrecks aren't the only setting in Season 7, as previously hinted at in leaks.

While the trailer hints that Season 7 may include underwater combat, possibly even an underwater boss battle, the trailer doesn't show any underwater combat action.

Unpacked Content

Besides the trailer, players have also gotten a sneak peek at Season 7's game assets through unpacking the game. Season 7 features a wide variety of creatures. They may not all be enemies, and some may be just environmental creatures.

Marine Creatures

There are a variety of new underwater resources, including swordfish, great white sharks, piranhas, large jellyfish, giant hermit crabs, octopuses, sea urchins, and squid.

These may be enemies or supplies. If they are supplies, Season 7 may also feature a fishing system. After catching a large fish, you can return to extraction and exchange it for Dark and Darker gold. Of course, these fish may also be used for cooking or as temporary supplies.

Humanoid Enemies

Season 7 apparently features a number of pirate enemies, primarily melee types wielding scimitars and ranged types that may throw knives and axes.

Murlocs are also a major enemy in Season 7, with types wielding maces, mages wielding ceremonial staffs, and harpooners. There's also a humanoid creature resembling a siren or mermaid, with many fangs in its mouth, which clearly falls into this category.

Elite Enemies (Or Bosses)

The unpacked content includes an enemy similar to a Crocodile Man, which resembles Skeksis from The Dark Crystal or Renekton from League of Legends. It has one normal arm and a ball and chain in the other.

Another pirate is a pirate who looks similar to Udyr from League of Legends (at least he looks like a pirate). He also has only one arm, and his other hand is equipped with a knife instead of a hook.

New Items

Besides the pirate scimitars mentioned above, there's also a new boat model, which may serve as a new extraction point or interactable object.

The above is the information about Dark and Darker Early Access Season 7. This season may give you the feeling of playing for the first time, but we still need to wait and see how it performs.
