CoD Black Ops 7 PC Requirements, Key Changes And More | Is It Worth Having?

While the official release date for CoD Black Ops 7 is confirmed for November 14, 2025, rumors of an earlier release date have recently surfaced in the player community, perhaps due to players' eagerness to experience the game.

To prevent these unfounded rumors from spreading further, BO7 development team recently announced that the game will not only not release early, but there will also be no early access.

While this news relieves some unnecessary anticipation, it also means there's no way to personally experience the game and determine whether the final version is worth having.

Fortunately, Black Ops 7 has also recently released other new information about the game, such as hardware and software requirements, playable content, and various improvements compared to its predecessor.

We will now present this information to help you decide whether it's worth adding to your game library a week before the game's release.

CoD Black Ops 7 PC Requirements, Key Changes And More | Is It Worth Having?

What Computer Configuration Is Needed To Run BO7 Smoothly?

Currently confirmed platforms for the game include PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. PCs require separate consideration regarding system requirements. The minimum PC system requirements are as follows:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit (latest update)
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 or Intel Core i5-6600
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Video Card: AMD Radeon RX 470 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / 1060 or Intel Arc A580
  • Video Memory: 3 GB
  • Storage Space: SSD with 116 GB available space at launch
  • Software: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot
  • API: DirectX12 compatibility

Of course, these minimum requirements mean that the above configuration will only allow you to run the game; smoothness, sound effects, and visual effects cannot be guaranteed.

Therefore, if your budget allows, you should upgrade your computer's hardware and software beforehand. Simply getting kills won't give you a full appreciation of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's charm.

How Was The Open Beta?

Black Ops 7 had an open beta for about a week in early October 2025. If you pre-ordered, you should have experienced it, and the evaluation and performance of this beta are undoubtedly the most direct way for fans to judge the game's value.

From the beta content, on the one hand, compared to its predecessor, BO7 did bring changes such as new levels and an optimized matchmaking system. On the other hand, some players felt that the overall innovation was still insufficient.

Therefore, it's difficult to judge the quality of the final version based solely on the beta content. After all, everyone's requirements and feelings are very subjective, and the development team will make further changes later.

However, if you've already experienced the open beta and felt it was good, you can pre-order CoD Black Ops 7 redeem codes to enjoy faster leveling and a wealth of cosmetic items as soon as the game launches, getting ahead of other players!

Weapons And Skins From BO6 Are Not Transferable

Frankly, this isn't surprising, given that Black Ops 6 and 7 differ in many ways besides belonging to the same series. However, if you genuinely love the various weapons or skin designs from the previous game, this might be a reason to stick with BO6.

Changes You Must Adapt To

As a sequel, Black Ops 7 naturally includes a lot of new content. Some, like the new playable modes, you can gradually adapt through practice, or simply choose not to play if you don't like them. However, some mechanic updates are something you must get used to.

New Movement Methods

In BO7, you can control your character to perform three consecutive wall jumps to reach previously inaccessible areas, allowing for easier exploration and mission completion across maps.

Undoubtedly, this change reduces the burden of traversing different locations in the game, but some argue that it goes against human anatomy - after all, in Call of Duty series, you're playing a human, not a superhero.

Furthermore, movement skills like Tactical Sprint, standard in Black Ops 6, become perks that require additional acquisition and equipment starting with Black Ops 7. This might mean you won't be able to move smoothly for a while after entering Black Ops 7.

Updated Matchmaking System

If you've played CoD Black Ops 6, you'll know that the matchmaking algorithm for various modes tended to group players of similar skill levels together. While safe, this was somewhat monotonous.

Therefore, the development team improved the matchmaking system in Black Ops 7's Open Moshpit mode. While retaining the original matchmaking mechanism, it now allows you to be matched with players of significantly different skill levels, providing a richer gaming experience.

Upgraded Combat System

With a plethora of perks available in the game, Black Ops 7 finally allows you to mix and match them to create more unique combat styles and playstyles.

The multiplayer mode introduces Overclocking system, allowing you to upgrade your acquired equipment, scorestreaks, and field upgrades, increasing your combat power and enabling you to defeat more enemies in battle.

Each item is expected to have two overclocking opportunities. As you use items more, you'll gradually unlock all overclocks, and you can switch between two overclocks as needed.

The Anti-Cheat System Is Stricter

This should be great news for most players, as it will significantly reduce the chances of cheaters disrupting the game. However, this also means that if you're a PC player, you must enable SecureBoot and TPM 2.0 to run the game.

If the above information makes Black Ops 7 seem like a good fit, you can pre-order the game now, and don't forget to pre-load on November 10th at 9 AM PT so you can play immediately upon release!

CoD Black Ops 7 All Beta Fixes, Gameplay Changes, Perk Reworks, And Weapon Progression Explained

CoD Black Ops 7 All Beta Fixes, Gameplay Changes, Perk Reworks, And Weapon Progression Explained

Battlefield 6's weapon progression and battle pass feel a bit too grindy, so let's turn our attention to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 instead. It will be released on November 14th, and the developers have made many optimizations based on the previous beta.

These optimizations cover a wide range of aspects, including core game mechanics, the skill system, and UI. So, what problems do these optimizations in Black Ops 7 solve? Are they enough to make it competitive with the current Battlefield 6?

CoD Black Ops 7 All Beta Fixes, Gameplay Changes, Perk Reworks, And Weapon Progression Explained

Core Game Mechanics Changes

Dexterity

In the beta, Dexterity perk was essential because it unlocked the ability to aim while performing highly mobile actions like Slide, Dive, or Wall Jump. Without it, you couldn't aim down sights during these actions.

The developers decided to make this feature built-in as the default setting, and Players don't need to equip any skills to aim while moving. However, Dexterity perk wasn't removed; it was redesigned. Its new effect is to allow players to perform the above actions more efficiently, specifically through increased speed and potentially improved accuracy.

Footstep Volume

In Beta, footsteps were too quiet, allowing enemies to dash right behind players without being heard, even without Ninja perk, leading to many unfair matches.

The developers announced a slight increase in footstep volume. They explicitly stated that the adjustment aims to balance the game, ensuring Ninja perk is not a necessity but rather an option.

Slide

The distance and speed of the slide were still too powerful in Beta, and the developers will slightly reduce them. However, the exact reduction and its impact on gameplay feel still require testing.

Mantle Speeds

Climbing obstacles was extremely slow, clashing with the game's fast pace. The developers stated they will comprehensively improve climbing speed.

Perk System Adjustments

The peks system has undergone structural adjustments. Given the overall power balance, some perk slots will be changed, and certain skills will be merged.

Slot Changes

  • Tac Sprinter: Moved from Slot 3 to Slot 1
  • Gearhead: Moved from Slot 2 to Slot 1
  • Scavenger: Moved from Slot 1 to Slot 2
  • Tactical Mask: Moved from Slot 1 to Slot 2
  • Dexterity: Moved from Slot 1 to Slot 3
  • Looper: Moved from Slot 2 to Slot 3
  • Cold-blooded: Moved from Slot 1 to Slot 3

The biggest beneficiary of this change is Cold-blooded, which now allows players to use a Wild Card and equip Ghost, Ninja, and Cold-blooded simultaneously for a full stealth loadout.

Perk Combinations

Call of Duty BO6 had many perks that were too niche, making players feel they were like half-perks. Players wouldn't give up a perk in the same slot that provides consistent benefits for a perk that only works occasionally, so the developers decided to merge the effects of some perks.

Specific merge plan:

  • Gearhead absorbed Quartermaster's effect.
  • Assassin absorbed Vendetta's effect.
  • Close Shave absorbed Bruiser's effect.
  • Tracker absorbed Hunter's Instinct's effect.

Engineer absorbed Shadow's effect. Now it can not only see enemy equipment but also won't trigger enemy equipment that requires manual detonation.

Aim Assist Adjustments

Based on Beta data, input devices have different advantages at different engagement distances:

  • Close quarters engagements: Controller players have a slightly higher win rate.
  • Longer range engagements: Keyboard and mouse players have a slightly higher win rate.

The developers may weaken the close-range aim assist strength and strengthen the long-range aim assist strength to narrow the gap.

The developers are researching requiring players to push the right stick to perform aiming actions to activate Rotational Aim Assist. Currently, the mechanism allows players to simply move the left stick to move the character, and the system automatically assists in aiming and tracking enemies. If this change is added at launch, it will significantly raise the skill barrier for controller use.

Matchmaking And Lobby

The official announcement states that the system used in Beta's public matchmaking list will be adopted, based on connection quality and regional latency, rather than strict skill-based matchmaking. Persistent Lobbies will also return by default. Lobbies will not be disbanded after a match, allowing players to continue playing with the same group of players or seek revenge.

Leveling And Progress

The official announcement confirms that weapon upgrade speeds in the full version will be faster than in Beta and Black Ops 6. When combined with CoD Black Ops 7 redeem codes, weapon upgrade speeds will reach unprecedented levels. While COD Bo7 will have 10 Prestiges, and each weapon will have its own Prestiges level, resulting in a long upgrade path.

The final Mastery Camo unlocking method is simplified. Once you get Master Camo on one of the 30 weapons, the final Mastery Camo will be automatically unlocked for all 30 weapons, eliminating the need to complete individual challenges for each gun.

Additionally, Overclock earn rates will be more stable, regardless of equipment, battlefield upgrades, or consecutive score rewards. The official announcement also confirmed the existence of Secret Camos and Dark Ops Challenges, but the unlocking method is kept secret.

User Interface

Call of Duty: Bo7 introduces a new global HUD theme system, allowing players to uniformly customize the interface appearance for Multiplayer, Zombies, and Co-op Campaign modes. Players can also freely toggle the minimap and other HUD elements.

The UI can now display up to three camouflage challenges and three name card challenges simultaneously. It also inherits the Last Used feature from Black Ops 6, displaying the next camouflage challenge for the currently used weapon.

The developers are currently working on comprehensive optimizations for CoD BO7. While it cannot be guaranteed to be the best FPS game, current information suggests it will be better than Black Ops 6.
