New World Aeternum Season 10 Farming More Mystic Doubloons In Advance
Posted: Sep 10, 2025 Views: 20
Season changes are a regular occurrence in New World Aeternum. The currently ongoing Season 9 launched on July 29th and is expected to be replaced by Season 10 in October.
While the game hasn't yet announced a precise release date for Season 10, some details about the new content that will be added have been released, and you can gauge the exact timeframe based on the validity of your existing season pass.
Regardless, Season 10 is just around the corner, so it's time to start preparing for it. One of the best strategies is to farm more Mystic Doubloons in advance.
What Is New Content In Season 10?
Before you start accumulating New World coins and items for the new season, it's worth understanding what's already known about Season 10 new content.
This season will feature vampires and werewolves, initially adding a new zone called Night Haven, located south of Brimstone. It will also include the game's first 10-player raid, The Hive of the Gorgons.
Other possible seasonal changes include:
- Reforms to the endgame system, such as a higher gear score cap.
- Maintaining the continued relevance of artifacts, providing more build crafting possibilities.
- More PvE gameplay and content.
- Introducing a new gear set reward system, allowing you to exchange old gear for new gear.
- Additional quality-of-life improvements.
How Can You Prepare For These New Features?
While you can't get early access to new raids or other gameplay features of Season 10, you can work hard to farm more coins and usable items before Season 9 ends, building a reserve to quickly level up your character once the new season begins.
Why Should You Stock Up On Mystic Doubloons?
While coins are the primary currency to redeem most basic items in New World Aeternum, they are still slightly less rare than Doubloons.
This special currency can be exchanged for rarer equipment, artifacts, and crafting materials in Well of Fortune. So accumulating enough Doubloons before Season 10 will help you make immediate progress at the start of the season.
How To Farm Doubloons?
First, it's important to know that this currency only drops in Cutlass Keys territory, where both normal monsters and the additional PvP area, The Cursed Mists, are found. Chests in this area also yield more Doubloons.
Note that Doubloons earned in The Cursed Mists start as Cursed Doubloons and only transform into Mystic Doubloons upon leaving the area. If you're defeated in PvP, you'll lose 50% of your loot.
Completing Cutlass Keys Quests
Once you enter Cutlass Keys territory, the game will assign you a series of scattered quests. To quickly farm Doubloons, you should accept as many as possible. On average, completing each quest will reward you with 35 or more Doubloons.
Not all of these quests are located in PvP zones, so if you're not confident in facing real players, you can choose lower-risk quests to complete your farming more safely and efficiently.
Exploring The Cursed Mists
Due to the uncertainty and dangers of PvP gameplay, it's crucial to ensure your character is at a high enough level and equipped with PvP-appropriate gear and builds before entering this zone to farm Doubloons.
The real thrill of combat in The Cursed Mists lies in the fact that you can not only earn Doubloon chests through reward settlements, but you can also loot Doubloons from other players by killing them.
Optimal Cutlass Keys Exploration Routes
Due to the large area of Cutlass Keys and the uneven distribution of available chests, you can choose specialized farming routes based on your needs. Some are safer, while others offer higher risks and higher rewards.
The Citadel Route
The Citadel is located on the westernmost side of The Cursed Mists and is also the deepest part of this PvP zone, making it quite dangerous.
If you choose this route, it's best to slowly advance in a circular motion around The Citadel toward the center, minimizing conflict and searching for chests.
Pond Scum Port Route
As the safest route, Pond Scum Port offers mostly preventable common enemies and many chests, allowing you to easily obtain a large number of Doubloons. This route is also suitable if you want to quickly complete your weekly Goldcursed Coconut farming.
Flotsam Gate Route
Compared to the previous two routes, Flotsam Gate offers a good balance of risk and reward, allowing you to obtain a considerable number of Doubloons without the increased risk of The Citadel.
However, it's important to note that Flotsam Gate is closer to the center of PvP area. While the route is more open, you may still be attacked by ranged players who are good at quickly killing enemies.
Doubloons Trading
If you've mostly completed Season 9, all Doubloons you earn should be kept until Season 10. However, you can still redeem them for Glittering Gold Keys or Goldcursed Epic Crates now.
Because each Glittering Gold Key has a chance of granting you a chest containing approximately 500 Mystic Doubloons, while Goldcursed Epic Crates have a small chance of granting you a 725 Geasrscore item.
That's all for this update. Best wishes for your continued success in Season 10!
