Nowadays, more and more people have access to video games, which have gradually evolved from the original entertainment and pastime to a new century art with the nature of a cultural carrier. Maybe there are old-fashioned and stubborn people who don’t think so, but this is the fact.

Therefore, some games will publicly promote the ideas they support through other activities based on their own influence while designing inherent gameplay and exclusive worldviews, such as Pride Parade held by Elder Scrolls Online in previous years.

Elder Scrolls Online Pride Parade In 2025: Can It Be Held As Usual This Year?

What Is ESO Pride Parade?

The event was first held in 2023 and was jointly initiated by game developers, some game anchors, and other supporters. The main purpose is to provide LGBTQ+ players with an anonymous parade opportunity.

This event has nothing to do with your main game progress and gameplay. It is just a small-scale carnival with political and social colors in the game. However, even if you are not a member of the LGBTQ+ community, you can participate in it out of support and love of excitement.

Every year, Pride Parade will set different parade start times and routes in the game, and last about 45 minutes. During this period, you will see many players gathering together on the route, declaring their identities and positions by launching rainbow-colored props or other means.

Can The Server Support This Activity?

Although not all players will participate, the final number of people is still not to be underestimated, and there is no doubt that this puts a lot of pressure on the game server. As you know, Cyrodiil’s PVP gameplay has been stuck for a long time due to overload.

The good news is that Pride Parade will divide all participants into different groups to reduce server pressure. But in fact, starting this year, ESO’s overall server carrying capacity has increased. For example, after the adjustment test of Cyrodiil Champions, the situation where you lose ESO gold due to lag in PVP mode should be reduced.

Pride Parade In 2025

This year’s Pride Parade is hosted by the LGBTQIA guild Alphabet Mafia in game, which announced that the parade will start at 8:15 pm EST on Saturday, June 14, 2025, and the parade area will be Auridon in the game.

If you want to participate or watch, you can gather at the first fortress signpost in the north of Auridon. The team will go south through Auridon along the main road of Vulkhel Guard and end with a beach party.

There are no requirements for the parade. As long as you are friendly, you can dress your character in any way to join the parade. So you also have the opportunity to meet many interesting players!

Rules Of Participation

The parade has no hard and fast rules for friendly players, but as you know, whether in the real world or in the social environment of the game, the LGBTQ+ community is generally not very recognized, and there are even players who hate this niche group.

Therefore, for the sake of your account security, game social experience, and server stability, if you want to participate in Pride Parade, it is best to follow the following rules:

  • Let your character walk instead of running.
  • If malicious players join and send unfriendly or even insulting remarks, do not argue with them, just block them and take screenshots of their remarks.
  • Turn off the name tag and hide the user interface to ensure that the screenshots you get are clear enough.
  • Please do not bring combat pets, as well as unnecessary non-combat pets or mounts.

This parade will only be held on PC-NA server, so be careful not to make a mistake. In addition, according to the news in the relevant Discord group, Alphabet Mafia should hold other Pride events in the future-if there is no unexpected attack.

The Degree Of Friendliness Seems To Be Declining Year By Year

To be honest, it is not surprising at all. There are always some cisgender heterosexual players who are self-righteous, so they do not support or even attack Elder Scrolls Online Pride Parade and other related events. “Negative” and “disgusting” remarks are endless.

But compared with the past, this year’s public opinion environment seems to be worse. You will find that the post announcing the event on the game sub-forum has even been closed, leaving only a bunch of deleted comments.

For this reason, Alphabet Mafia, the person in charge of the parade, had to take precautions on Discord and closed all public groups where you can discuss with other parade participants to prevent bad elements from getting in.

This series of measures undoubtedly killed the excitement of the event. Although Alphabet Mafia has announced that the parade will not be canceled or postponed, you may still be worried.

Should ESO Hold Such Events?

In fact, Pride Parade is not the only event in Elder Scrolls Online that expresses support for the LGBTQ+ community. In update 44, the game also introduced the first non-binary companion Tanlorin, which caused controversy at the time.

In general, games are of course not obliged to promote such ideas, and this will inevitably offend some players who disagree, but ESO still chooses to do so. You can think they are hyping, but after all, it does not harm anyone’s interests.

From a personal perspective, you can disagree with LGBTQ+ and even say goodbye to Elder Scrolls Online because of it, but insulting related players and activities is indeed unnecessary and ridiculous. Playing games is for fun, not for quarrels, right?
