Solo Dungeons & Skyrim Nostalgia: What's Coming in ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim?

PublishedPublished: Oct 21, 2026

Since April of this year, Elder Scrolls Online has transitioned to a new seasonal update model. Following the conclusion of Seasons 0 and 1, Season 2 is set to officially launch on October 21 at 1:00 PM EDT!

The theme for this season is Echoes of Skyrim, and it is currently scheduled to run until January 27 of next year, at which point Season 3 is expected to follow.

In this guide, we will break down the timeline for ESO Season 2 and provide an overview of the new content arriving throughout the season.

Solo Dungeons & Skyrim Nostalgia: What's Coming in ESO Season 2 Echoes of Skyrim?

Season 2 timeline

As mentioned, we have already outlined the start and end dates for the season. Additionally, the development team has established four key milestones, with new content being released in stages.

In other words, you won't be able to access all of the new Season 2 content on October 21; you will need to engage with the game throughout the entire season to experience everything. Here is the schedule:

  • October 21: Greymoor base content, solo dungeons, and a new Tamriel Tome.
  • November 9: Markarth base content and Skyrim Golden Pursuit.
  • January 6: Nowhere Vault Golden Pursuit.
  • January 17: QoL improvements and a new PvP season.

Below, we will take a closer look at each of these new additions to Elder Scrolls Online.

Greymoor Chapter

In the game, Greymoor represents a portion of Nord homeland, located in the frigid region of Western Skyrim.

This chapter introduces new stories and quests, Antiquities system, and a 12-player Trial called Kyne's Aegis.

This means that even free-to-play players have the opportunity to acquire Mythic-tier gear. While some Mythic items are restricted to specific zones, requiring you to have access to those areas, Antiquities system itself is available to all players.

Dungeons from Wolfhunter DLC

Wolfhunter DLC serves as the source for the new dungeons featured in Season 2. This includes two four-player dungeons, Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices, now available with brand-new solo modes.

You can choose to take them on alone or bring companions along. While having companions makes the challenge a bit easier, it's better to buy ESO gold online for preparation, to experience the unique thrill of conquering these dungeons solo!

Furthermore, each dungeon features approximately four difficulty levels. The highest tier, Brutal, is said to be more challenging than any other content in ESO designed for solo players.

By completing these dungeons, you can earn crests to exchange for various rewards. The available items rotate periodically and include a mix of standard utility goods and cosmetic crafting materials.

New Tamriel Tome

Tamriel Tome is a reward system unique to Elder Scrolls Online, think of it as the Season Pass. It comes in three versions: Free, Premium, and Premium+. You can choose which one to unlock based on your personal preferences.

In Season 2 Tamriel Tome, the free track for all players includes a generous haul of seals, trade bars, and crown crates, as well as Maarselok Slayer weapon style and Shagrath weapon appearance.

If you're looking for a larger stash of items or want to unlock more cosmetics to customize your ESO character, you can opt for one of the premium versions. Of course, always choose what fits your own situation best.

Markarth Chapter

Markarth is the twentieth DLC for Elder Scrolls Online, and it has now been integrated into the base game for Season 2, allowing you to experience it at no extra cost.

This DLC is packed with content, including new locations, quests, bosses, and more. Of particular note is Vateshran Hollows.

If you enjoy experimenting with solo builds or tackling solo dungeons, the arena weapons found in Vateshran Hollows are excellent. Additionally, The Reach region offers some fantastic opportunities to unearth valuable Antiquities. Delving Deeper into Skyrim

With Greymoor and Markarth now integrated into the base game, you can venture deeper into the heart of Skyrim. Explore the storylines of these two iconic regions to uncover hidden secrets, rumored to be linked to the vampire race.

Skyrim & Nowhere Vault Golden Pursuits

Introduced in 2024, Golden Pursuit is a new system in ESO that features themed, limited-time events. By participating, you can earn exclusive rewards, including mounts, costumes, and more.

The activities are generally straightforward, focusing on core gameplay, such as completing dungeons or crafting specific ESO items. The exact tasks and rewards for this specific iteration will be revealed once the new Golden Pursuit goes live.

Skyrim & Nowhere Vault Golden Pursuit will become available at specific intervals. While it may not appear directly in your main menu, a golden glow will alert you when it's active, prompting you to jump in and take part.

QoL improvements & new PvP Season

These updates are set to arrive toward the end of Season 2. The QoL improvements are expected to be comprehensive, ensuring a smoother and more refined experience from the very start of Season 3.

Additionally, the launch of a new PvP season means your PvP rank will be reset, giving you the chance to earn those rewards all over again. While not yet confirmed, we are hopeful that a new PvP zone might also be introduced.

Please note that ESO has also adjusted the carry-over mechanism for Mundus Stones: any carried-over stones will now be converted into gold at a rate of 25 gold per stone. Furthermore, you may carry over a maximum of 5,000 Mundus Stones into the next season.

That covers everything currently known about the new content and changes coming to Elder Scrolls Online in Season 2. We hope these additions prove to be truly exciting, helping you wrap up 2026 on a high note in the game!
