During your exploration of Endless Desert, you may occasionally hear a spaceship crash, or even see a craft falling from the sky. These ships often contain a lot of loot, including piles of Dune Awakening Solari and materials. So don’t miss them once you see them, it means a windfall!
But sometimes you also need to chase them, and you may have to deal with a sandworm while trying to open them. So, always be vigilant when looting these crashed ships, don’t lose your life for a little gain!
Here, we will share how to farm these crashed ships in Hagga Basin and Deep Desert areas with minimal risk and harvest a lot of loot. Let’s take a look!
Travel To The Crash Site Faster
First of all, before you start farming, there is one thing you need to know, that is, for these crashed ships, the wreckage is placed in a static position on the map. So, when they stay here for a long time, the sandworms will eat the wreckage and anyone around.
So, I strongly recommend that you go loot those ships that have just crashed. Whenever you hear a loud explosion, you can go to search in the direction of the sound.
What Do You Need To Prepare?
Before looting a ship, you need to have some necessary items, including a Cutteray, a Power Pack, and an Ornithopter. Among them, Ornithopter is a key aircraft, a symbol of freedom in the harsh Arrakis environment, and they are essential for traversing the vast and dangerous Deep Desert and completing various missions.
No matter which Ornithopter you have, even the most common Scout Ornithopter Storage Mk4, your chances of survival during the exploration process will be greatly improved.
How To Loot A Ship?
Next, let me tell you how to do it and some precautions. Remember that this actually only applies to shipwrecks found in Hagga Basin and Deep Desert.
Like I said, the sandworms will eat the ship hole, so you have to be very careful and find a new ship whenever possible. If you stay there, you will sink with it.
At the same time, any Suspender Belt, Shields or similar items are best not used when in open sand, as these will attract a lot of sandworms and make them very annoyed.
So, the next thing you need to do is land next to the crash site, preferably with your Cutteray to scan the ship, and then cut open the side of the ship, which will be marked with blue lines. Try each side of the ship, as the panels you need to cut out may be on any side of the ship.
If you don’t want to scan, you can, of course, not do this, but choose to cut open the top of the ship, then go up and hold down E key to take everything here. This may be a test of your backpack space, but it is very likely that you will find that you are carrying a lot of junk in your inventory after looting.
However, it does not mean that you are done after looting all the resources. Because usually after you complete a ship, the sandworms will come to eat it within a few minutes, but the specific time often depends on the location and situation of Deep Desert.
So, once you have collected all Dune Awakening Solari and materials from them, stay alert, avoid being spotted by Sandworms, and run in Deep Desert. But if you want to test your strength and are happy to challenge your limits, you can also try to defeat the Sandworms, after all, the loot dropped by this monster is also very considerable.
Then, as you explore Deep Desert area, you will often come across other crashed ships, which you can easily loot. Similarly, we just need to go forward, land, scan all the loot we can grab, then cut open the top of the ship, loot all the materials, and finally escape the scene!
So if you are currently in Deep Desert, you can collect a lot of resources this way, and there is a chance that you will also get some excellent materials. Anything can happen!

How To Deal With Sandworms?
Although in an ideal situation, we can quietly leave after looting the ship, avoiding Sandworms’ attention, and getting into a dangerous battle. But it is true that we are not always lucky enough to get away.
So if you anger the Sandworms during your escape, what should you do? In fact, don’t think about fighting it, running away is still the best choice. This is why we emphasized before that Ornithopter is necessary equipment for your exploration process.
As long as you see a breach, please jump up and return to your Ornithopter immediately. The breach is the red wavy line on the screen, which often implies that the sandworm may drill out of the sand nearby and attack us at any time.
After returning to Ornithopter, don’t stop, take off immediately and reach an altitude of at least 3400m, so that you can successfully escape the attack range of the sandworm.
Final Tips
In the end, the sandworm will eventually devour everything around the ship and destroy the ship, which is actually a bit like a way for the game to clean up crashed ships and other similar situations.
But you definitely don’t want to passively look for or wait for the ship to crash every time, which is too inefficient. If you can create a new crash, then you can always collect all available resources before other players find them, and then get out of there on your Ornithopter. If you do this, you should be able to grab the loot easily and escape before the sandworms destroy and dispose of the wreckage.
