Diablo 4: Has Drop Rate Of Items Been Lowered? - Test Explained
Category: Diablo 4 Posted: Jun 24, 2023 Views: 3800
Since the release of Diablo 4, many players have been looking for valuable equipment for Diablo 4 game in Nightmare Dungeons, and even compared the drop rate of Diablo 4 with the previous series of Diablo games. Actually the result is that it has about the same drop rate as Diablo 2 Resurrected.
Overview
Many players in Diablo 4 are obsessed with items and equipment, because these are closely related to their survival. However, after the release of Diablo 4, players have always had doubts. They feel that Diablo 4 items drop rate is too low, which has also attracted the attention of other players.

As we all know, the core of Diablo 4 is Blood, Guts, and Gore respectively. But there's actually one more thing that's at the heart of this RPG, and that's good Loot. It's hidden somewhere in Nightmare Dungeons, or given to you as a reward after killing Diablo 4 world boss. But many players find it difficult to get good Loot in Diablo 4. In fact, the drop rate of equipment is about the same as Diablo 2 Resurrected.
Can You Accept It?
Then you can think about this scene, when you finally broke out from Lilith's hordes, her most feared general was also defeated by you, and you were well prepared to defeat Daughter of Hatred. But when the last Boss is defeated by you, you have gone through a lot of hardships, and you are looking forward to the equipment that will drop, but you find that the dropped items include Potions, Diablo 4 Gold and a Magic Item. Just imagine can you accept this result?
Test Explained
This makes the majority of Diablo 4 players very curious, is items drop rate in the game really that low? The answer is of course no, in fact items drop rate in Diablo 4 is the same as in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Diablo creator Regular Schmuck has also tested that Loot drop rate of Nightmare Dungeons is similar to that of Diablo 2’s Chaos Dungeons. In an hourly time frame, the number of items dropped by Nightmare Dungeons is 99, while Chaos Dungeons is 92.

In contrast, Diablo 4 players tend to choose lower-level items, which are products that have actual meaning in the game. Many players will spend a lot of gold in Diablo 2 to buy Scrolls of Identify, Potions, Scrolls of Town Portal, and Hiring Mercenaries. But for Diablo 4 gamers, upgrading and enchanting your gear is what matters most.
Since the release of Diablo 4, players have been very curious about the drop rate of Loot, and many players have different opinions. They comment on the drop rate on subreddit and other places, and the description is very high and unbelievable. But overall the drop rate of Diablo 4 is the same as that of Diablo 2 Resurrected. In Diablo 4, many players said that they can put on a set of Legendary gear for their characters before reaching the level cap of the 25th beta version, especially after you defeat the world leader Ashava the Pestilent, you will get a lot of legendary items . So it can be seen that the answer to items drop rate of Diablo 4 has two sides.

In fact, the drop rate of items is not the only point that players care about, but it is indeed related to the survival of players' characters in the game. But don't worry, items drop rate in Diablo 4 is normal.

Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Gold Farming Trick by a Charm Exploit | How to boost Gold Drops by over 900% with one Set?
After diving deep into the endgame of Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred, you quickly discover that gold becomes absolutely critical and is devoured in staggering quantities - far beyond anything seen in previous Seasons. With individual costs routinely soaring into the hundreds of millions, conventional methods of acquiring gold feel utterly inadequate.
As a result, players desperately need a way to massively boost gold drops. And right now, there is indeed a method that can increase your gold drops by over 900%, and it revolves around Charm system.

Why is Gold So Scarce?
Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred introduces several new systems while also resetting and expanding some older ones, and every single one of them comes with substantial costs.
- Paragon Nodes: The fee to respec each node scales dynamically, eventually reaching up to 50 million gold per node.
- Masterworking: Landing the final masterwork upgrade on a piece of gear costs 10 million gold per attempt.
- Attribute Rerolling: Continuously rerolling a specific affix on high-tier gear can cost tens of millions of gold per roll.
- War Plans: The cost of resetting skill points at each node also increases dynamically, exceeding 50 million gold per node.
How to Boost Gold Drops?
While leveling through the campaign, Set Charms and Seals you find mostly provide bonuses for Generic sets, which only increase basic attributes. Once you enter the endgame, however, the loot pool becomes almost entirely dominated by Class Specific sets. Seals you obtain will roll affixes that almost exclusively benefit class sets, no longer offering enhancements for Generic sets.
The goal of this method is to use a very specific trick to once again obtain Seals in the endgame that provide bonuses for Generic sets. You first need to activate Charm effect of Practiced Technique. Its generic effect increases attack speed and movement speed, and the 3-piece bonus also provides an additional 25% gold drop.
In truth, the gold bonus this set can provide in the endgame far exceeds that figure - it can actually reach an increase of over 900% to your gold drop rate.
Practiced Technique Set
To unlock this absurdly powerful affix, you must first obtain Practiced Technique Set. You can acquire all three pieces simply by completing the main campaign.
You need to equip at least two pieces of the set to activate its 2-piece bonus. If you kept the third piece and equip it as well, the 3-piece bonus grants an extra 25% gold drop on top of that.
If you accidentally dismantled or discarded the set while leveling, you may need to create a new character and replay the campaign to obtain it again.
How to Obtain The Affix?
Once you have the set, the next step is to acquire a Seal with that overpowered affix, which is done through a recipe in Horadric Cube.
Among the hundreds of Rare or Legendary Horadric Seals that drop directly from monsters in the endgame, the specific Generic set gold affix you need is virtually impossible to find. However, you can obtain these affixes through Seal fusion recipe.
You need to prepare 3 Legendary Seals of the same rarity, place them inside Horadric Cube, and then use a recipe to transform the 3 Legendary Seals into a single new Seal with randomized affixes.
The new Seal created through this method draws its affix pool with a bias toward Generic set bonuses once more, rather than the class set bonuses that are so common in the endgame. This gives you a genuine chance to roll an affix that boosts Practiced Technique Set.
Simply repeat this process until you obtain a Seal with an affix that states: "If you have Practiced Technique Set equipped, you gain 911%-961% increased gold drop rate."
Difficulty Selection
Torment Tier difficulty in the game inherently provides a gold bonus. This bonus caps out at Torment 10, granting a base 300% increased Diablo 4 gold drop. Torment 11 and 12 do not increase this value any further.
Therefore, your final gold drop rate is: Torment difficulty bonus (up to 300%) plus that Seal affix bonus, totaling over 1200%. Apply this combined bonus to any gold-generating activity, and the returns become absolutely monstrous.
It is worth noting, however, that in order to equip the low-level Practiced Technique Set, you will lose the 5-piece class set bonus from your regular build, as well as any single Unique Charm you might have had equipped. This causes a significant drop in your character's overall power.
It is recommended to lower your game difficulty to Torment 10 first, since higher tiers do not offer additional gold gains, and there is no reason to sacrifice your clear speed on a higher difficulty.
Additionally, if you have the time, you can put together a dedicated speed-farming build specifically for gold. Whenever you need a massive amount of gold, swap into your gold-farming gear, rapidly rack up billions of gold, and then switch back to your regular combat equipment. You won't have to worry about gold for a very long time afterward.
With this method, you can amass billions of gold extremely quickly to cover the enormous costs of Paragon resets, affix re-rolls, and masterworking. However, this is likely a data vulnerability that the developers have overlooked, and they may fix it soon, so remember to take full advantage of this vulnerability until it's fixed.

Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Anathema of the Primes is the game-changing Warlock weapon you need to farm!
With the launch of Lord of Hatred expansion, Diablo 4 introduces a host of new features, including several new additions to its itemization system. Among these, the most likely to catch your eye are the new Mythic Uniques and Unique items.
Some of this new gear is universal, usable by all classes, while other pieces are exclusive to specific classes. As the new class making its debut in Lord of Hatred, Warlock naturally receives a slightly larger selection of exclusive Unique items.
In light of this, we present to you a comprehensive overview of a specific item within Warlock's gear arsenal: Anathema of the Primes.

What is Anathema of the Primes?
This newly added unique item is a two-handed sword designed exclusively for Warlock players. Beyond its standard combat utility, equipping this weapon grants a special effect: whenever you strike an enemy with a core skill, the damage that enemy takes is increased by 30%. This effect can stack up to a maximum of 90%.
Warlock's core skills include Archfiend Demonform variants, Hell Fracture, Umbral Chains, and Dread Claws. By synergizing these skills with Anathema of the Primes, you can craft even more powerful character builds.
How to farm Anathema of the Primes?
Like most unique items, this two-handed sword can be acquired through a variety of sources, though success in each method ultimately depends on your luck. Naturally, the higher the difficulty tier you are farming in, the greater your chances of obtaining rare gear drops.
Defeating Lair Bosses
As a primary source for unique items, all Lair Bosses have a chance to drop general gear upon defeat; however, items exclusive to specific classes typically require you to defeat a designated boss.
If your current goal is specifically to acquire Anathema of the Primes, you should focus your farming efforts on Harbinger of Hatred. This Lair Boss is classified as a Greater tier boss, and unlocking its treasure hoard requires one Greater Lair Key (consumed per attempt).
Greater Lair Keys can be obtained by first defeating any Initiate tier Lair Bosses, including Varshan, Grigoire, Beast in the Ice, Lord Zir, and Urivar.
In addition to a Greater Lair Key, you must also own the first expansion, Vessel of Hatred. Once you have met these prerequisites, simply travel to Nahantu; you will find Harbinger located to the west of Kurast.
This boss's damage output consists primarily of poison and fire damage; therefore, when crafting your build and stocking up on resistance potions, be sure to prioritize these specific resistances.
The key to defeating this boss lies in utilizing its stagger bar. Once the stagger bar is filled, the boss will be temporarily stunned and unable to attack, presenting you with an excellent opportunity to counterattack.
In addition to standard attacks, Harbinger of Hatred possesses several unique abilities, including Desiccation Pools, Harbinger Scream, Blood Portals, and Akarat Lion Form. Their effects are as follows:
- Desiccation Pools: Creates pools of red and black liquid on the ground; stepping into them inflicts Poison damage.
- Harbinger Scream: The boss emits a piercing scream while simultaneously launching projectiles in a cone-shaped area directly in front of it.
- Blood Portals: Spawns portals that spew forth packs of wolves; these wolves charge toward a designated location and unleash fire-based attacks.
- Akarat Lion Form: The boss transforms into its Akarat Lion Form to summon light orbs. You can pick up and throw these orbs to attack either the portals or the boss itself.
In addition to Anathema of the Primes, defeating Harbinger may also yield other Warlock-exclusive Unique items, such as Spine of Tathamet, Bridle of Tor'Baalos, and The Fecund Seal.
Participating in various endgame events
Once you reach the endgame phase, participating in most events that spawn within the open world offers a chance to obtain unique items, including Anathema of the Primes, as rewards from the final chests.
Generally speaking, endgame events with a higher probability of dropping unique items include Legions, World Bosses, Nightmare Dungeons, and others.
Among these, Helltide Events warrant special attention. These events spawn in a random zone every 5 minutes and last for 55 minutes each; this means that as long as you are actively playing the game, you can participate in them almost continuously.
During a Helltide, you must constantly slay enemies to collect as many Aberrant Cinders as possible. These cinders can be used to unlock Helltide Chests, which offer a chance to obtain unique items or other rare rewards.
It is worth noting that if you die during a Helltide event, you will lose all Aberrant Cinders you have collected up to that point. To avoid wasting your progress, it is best to consume your Cinders on chests promptly.
Gambling at Purveyor of Curiosity
This is a vendor found in every major city where you can use a special currency: Murmuring Obols, to gamble for random pieces of gear.
Although the outcome of the gamble is random, you can specify the type of gear slot you are targeting. For instance, if you are seeking Anathema of the Primes, you can choose to gamble specifically for a two-handed sword.
Generally speaking, the odds of obtaining unique items through this method are quite low, so it is not a highly recommended strategy. However, if you have accumulated a substantial number of Obols while completing other world events, there is certainly no harm in giving it a try.
Aside from specific skill requirements, there are virtually no restrictions on wielding this sword, and the damage bonuses it provides are exceptionally substantial. If you play as a Warlock, you should make every effort to acquire this weapon as soon as possible!
While there are many ways to acquire it, obtaining Anathema of the Primes requires investing a significant amount of time farming at higher difficulties.
So, if you don't have the time, or simply don't want to go through too much trouble, you can directly buy Diablo 4 Anathema of the Primes on IGGM! It's not only fast, but our service is also secure. Act now if you're interested!

Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Mythic Unique Items Farming is finally Easy | Here's the Most Efficient Route
Guys, we can finally show off our skills in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred! Mythic Unique items have always been highly coveted by players, and now your chances of obtaining them are greatly increased, but some efficient methods are still needed. Let's delve into the details.
As players know, you need to be at least at Torment 1 difficulty to have a chance of obtaining Mythics; lower difficulties won't drop them. Therefore, as the difficulty increases, the drop rate of Mythic items will also increase.
This season, the power of Mythic Unique items is fixed at the highest roll value, stable and reliable, eliminating concerns about random fluctuations.
New Item: Horadric Seal
This new item differs slightly from Mythic Unique items we'll discuss next, but it possesses immense potential. Players are advised to learn more about this novel item before farming for Mythic Unique items.

Horadric Seal occupies one slot in Charm system and determines the number of Charms you can have around you, typically a maximum of six. It also comes with a powerful affix bonus, such as increasing Critical Strike Chance.
Its special effect is that you can only have a maximum of five Charm slots, but you can equip two Unique Charms simultaneously. However, the downside is that if a particular five-piece Charm set effect is crucial, then Horadric Seal might become useless.
Horadric Seal cannot be directly crafted through the rune crafting system; it can only be obtained through drops.
As a core component of the Talisman system in the new season, Horadric Seal like regular Mythic Unique items, only drops in Torment 1 and above, with a significantly increased drop rate in Torment 10 and above. It can be farmed in events such as Nightmare Dungeons and The Pit.
The best sources are still the chests from the new final boss, Mephisto, and Kurast Undercity.
Opening Mephisto's chests with a special key has a very high chance of obtaining Horadric Seal; while not 100%, it's the highest known single-time drop rate.
If you manage to acquire this item in the new season, your builds will be far more powerful than you imagine after farming Mythic Unique items.
Methods to Obtain Mythic Unique Items
New Final Boss Mephisto
Mephisto will be your first target during progression. However, first, we need to unlock Lair Boss keys. The key needed here is called Crux of the False Prophet.
Defeating Lilith in Torment 8 completes the season Rank 8 capstone reward, granting you a key. Note that this only applies to Lilith on Torment 8 difficulty.
Next, your first use of the key to open Mephisto endgame chest will guarantee a new key drop, allowing you to immediately re-challenge Mephisto.
Additionally, The Greater Lair Bosses in Torment 10 and above have a very low chance of dropping Diablo 4 Mythic Uniques. They can also drop from War Plans rewards and World Bosses, but are extremely rare.
This boss fight has three phases, with the third phase being extremely difficult, and most builds will be one-shotted. Therefore, it's recommended to maximize Armor, Resistances, and Damage Reduction.
Chests may contain a large number of Ancestral items with powerful affixes, a high probability of Mythic Unique Items, and a high probability of Horadric Seals. The first key is a must-have. After completing the challenge, use the returned second key to fight again; the double rewards are extremely high.
War Plans Nemesis System
This is the most stable way to obtain items. Choose the middle path in War Plans tree, focusing on unlocking Two by Two as quickly as possible, as it unlocks Nemesis Lair. After defeating the boss and opening the chest, there's a chance to encounter a Nemesis Portal.
In the beginner stage, two entry-level Lair bosses will fight simultaneously. You only need one key and one opening to obtain one original reward plus two Nemesis rewards, for a total of three boss rewards. Mythic drop rate is significantly higher than that of normal bosses.
After triggering Greater Nemesis Lair, two higher-level Lair bosses will appear, further increasing Mythic drop rate. Testing shows that at least one Mythic item is guaranteed every 1-2 Nemesis attempts.
If you defeat Ultimate Nemesis Lair, it will drop items equivalent to 10 Hoard Chests. One Nemesis Lair kill is equivalent to the total loot from killing 10 bosses in a row. Mythic Unique Items can even drop multiple items at once, which is not uncommon.
The process is as follows: First, farm normal Lair bosses to accumulate a few keys, at least 5-10. Then, trigger Greater Nemesis Lair, and try to get as many Ultimate Nemesis Lair as possible.
After starting the boss fight and completing the kill, you can open the chest and have a chance to trigger a Portal, allowing you to re-enter the fight. If it doesn't trigger, continue to the next boss. Triggering it even once is a huge win.
Rune Crafting
Through rune crafting, you can selectively craft any Mythic Unique item.
You will need 6 specific magic runes, 6 specific rare runes, 6 specific legendary runes, and 1 Resplendent Spark. Then, in Jeweler's rune crafting interface, select Mythic Uniques tab to begin crafting. Craft Mythic item you want directly, including weapons, armor, and jewelry, but not Horadric Seals.
Resplendent Sparks can be obtained through rewards given during multiple season journey phases, and disenchanting any Mythic Unique Item will also yield one.
Additionally, you can trade runes with other players to advance your game.
By utilizing these methods effectively, Mythic Unique Items are no longer rare this season, and you can even easily farm double or even ten Mythic items. Good luck!

The Only Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Cow Level Guide You Need: All Hidden Steps Revealed
In Diablo 4, the legend of Secret Cow Level has always captivated players. With the release of Lord of Hatred, a hidden questline has finally been revealed. It won't be updated in the logbook; players need to carefully record it.
This article will detail the entire process from starting the quest to approaching the secret level, based on the discovered complete walkthrough. All steps have been verified. As of the time of writing, the actual Cow Level has not yet been unlocked, but the prerequisites and key clues are complete.

Phase One
The trigger point is located on the east face of Mount Hefaetrus. There, there's a strange interaction point with a strange diary and a bottle of alcohol. The inside back cover reads: "Blind are those that deny their own sins."
Burning Pride's Sin
In Kyovashad, go to the gatehouse, where Holy Cedar Tablet can be found. Choose to carve Pride and burn it. Note that the order in which you burn it is crucial.
Returning to the journal, a new text prompt appears: ... these machines make short work of even the vilest beast Hell can spawn, as though the Heavenly Father himself was hurling his mighty spears.
Obtain Amazonian Bolt
The only machine in Skovos capable of severely damaging Demon is Ballista. Go to Akarat's Bulwark, where there is a corrupted Amazon. Destroy Ballista to obtain Amazonian Bolt.
Cross the Hidden Rope
Open Skovos map. A manatee drawing is visible in the western sea. The nearby island of Philios has a partial outline resembling a bull's head. Go to Idyllic Reach on that island. Near the entrance, there is an unloaded Ballista. Use Bolt; it will launch a rope that leads to a secret area.
Defeat Jailer of Angels
At the end of the area is an Inarius statue. Interact with it to summon Jailer of Angels. Defeating them will drop Father's Chains. Head to Antia's Flame in the northern part of Philios Island and burn the chain with the brazier.
Phase Two
Collect a set of training armor and obtain new sacrificial items.
Burn Sin of Wrath
Return to the gatehouse of Kyovashad and burn Anger.
Journal Update: ... the lifeless effigy stood uncowed, but once battered by anger's relentless blows, it finally bowed its head, and Amazon earned the first piece of her panoply. Head to Temis training grounds and hit the dummies to obtain Amazon Training Helm. Equip it immediately.
Collect Armor
Return to Akarat's Bulwark and fight the corrupted Amazon. Rare Diablo 4 Items include: Amazon Training Tunic, Amazon Training Pants, Amazon Training Gauntlets, and Amazon Training Boots.
Equip each item immediately upon acquisition. After collecting all the items, find Elite Corrupted Amazon Captain southeast of the fortress and defeat him to obtain Mother's Rose. Go to Athulua and burn Temple of Courage with a brazier. You can then revert to your original equipment.
Phase Three
This involves areas where combat is not possible and the remains of key characters.
Burning Sin of Fear
Return to the gatehouse and burn Fear; the journal will update. Go to Ruins of Brocken Reason on Lycander Island. The enemies here will not attack unless provoked, but do not engage them.
There is a giant raven near the fountain in the southwest of the ruins. Interact with it, and it will fly away; follow it. If there is no raven here, it may be because you previously engaged in combat with an enemy.
This raven will cross some inaccessible terrain, so if you lose it, you can teleport back to Temis to start over. The raven will return to the starting point and drop a Skull; pick it up to obtain new clues.
Obtain the Key
Follow the new clue to Temple of Life on the same island. Interact with the brazier outside to obtain a special key.
Obtain Neyrelle's Hand
Go to Creaking Hulls, north of Hawezaar. Its ship's hull resembles a bull's head. At the end, where the original coffin was, is now a fishpond. Fish for the coffin. Use the key to open it and enter Rathma's Temple. Run to the altar where Elias's finger is located; find Neyrelle's Hand nearby. Pick it up to complete the questline.
Final Step
This requires combining the two prerequisite quests: Stamina Potion obtained from Cow Level quest in the main game, and Rusted Bardiche obtained from Lord of Hatred.
Crafting the Item
Place Stamina Potion, Rusted Bardiche, and Neyrelle's Hand into Horadric Cube. The recipe will display three question marks. Craft to obtain a Bull Skull Treasure Chest, namely the Trophy of the Faithful.
Rewards and Uses
Open the treasure chest to obtain Torn Page and complete the challenge for the title "MOO" and MOO emote.
Travel to Hidden Island and Unfinished Cow Level
Follow Torn Page's clues to the cow-head terrain area on Philios Island. Find Outcast's Boat and sail to the hidden island. The island features a Skeleton Horse, statues of humanoid cows, a dilapidated hut with a sign saying "Do not feed the animals," and a desolate cellar.
Inside the cellar, many seated human skeletons look at the altar at the end of the room which depicts a large cow, and twelve cows are arranged in a circle staring at a symbol.
The final room provides the biggest clue: a map of Skovos Highlands and Gonnagal's Guide to the Hecatomb, which depicts seven portal images, presumably the entrance to Cow Level. These are all the clues discovered so far.
Through this hidden questline, players can obtain rewards such as Hand of Neyrelle, Minotaur Skull Chest, MOO title, and emotes, which are not only symbols of status but also contain key clues to the true Cow Level.

Struggling in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred T12? These Toughness & Gear tips will carry you through Torment XII
As is widely known, with the launch of Diablo 4 Season 13 and Lord of Hatred expansion, the original four Torment tiers have been completely restructured into a new system of 12 tiers. These new T1–T12 tiers aren't merely a simple numerical scaling-up; rather, they serve to smooth out the overall difficulty curve.
More importantly, access to Torment difficulties is no longer automatically granted based on your character level; instead, it is now tied to The Pit. You must clear specific tiers within The Pit to unlock higher Torment levels. Torment I roughly correspond to the starting difficulty of the previous system and requires clearing Pit Tier 10; conversely, Torment XII (T12) is designed specifically for players seeking the ultimate challenge, benchmarked against Pit Tier 100, and has been playfully dubbed by the developers as the realm of the apex and the insane.
Whether you are playing a seasonal character or experiencing Lord of Hatred expansion content on Eternal Realm, you will be facing this brand-new 12-tier Torment difficulty system.
In particular, T12 difficulty represents the pinnacle of endgame efficiency. It not only yields the highest-quality loot but also offers a massive +1400% experience point bonus, empowering players to achieve the ultimate optimization of their character's attributes. Consequently, despite its daunting difficulty, countless players continue to flock to the challenge, striving to conquer Torment XII. If you are one of them, you cannot afford to miss this guide, as we will be sharing key tips to help you survive and thrive within this apex difficulty tier.

Boosting Your Toughness
To make steady progress in T12, defense is no longer a mere afterthought; it becomes a critical metric on par with your offensive capabilities. Therefore, the first step we must take is to significantly boost our character's Toughness attribute.
However, Toughness is not a single, standalone base stat; rather, it serves as a composite metric that takes into account three major factors: your Maximum Life, Armor, and Resistances. Its purpose is to provide a comprehensive assessment of your character's survivability when facing incoming damage.
To achieve a high Toughness rating, the key lies in maintaining a healthy balance across these three defensive pillars; relying too heavily on a single attribute leaves you highly vulnerable, and prone to being instantly one-shot, when challenging the bosses of Torment XII.
In short, for builds tackling T12 difficulty, I would recommend aiming for a Toughness rating of approximately 2 to 3 million in Softcore. In Hardcore, however, this target value should likely be doubled, reaching roughly 4 to 5 million.
Naturally, this implies that you must invest a considerable amount of effort into enhancing your gear. However, always remember: do not focus solely on stacking damage output while completely neglecting your defensive attributes.
Gear Stat Priority
Across the 12 difficulty tiers introduced in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, the ceiling for defensive capabilities has been raised significantly. You must approach the enhancement of your defenses with the same rigor you apply to offense, utilizing Tempering, Masterworking, and Greater Affixes to bolster your survivability.
The first step in building a solid defense is ensuring your foundational stats are robust. You can re-roll the stats on your gear, specifically Life, Armor, and Resistances, as these three elements constitute the core pillars of your defensive capabilities. When selecting gear, every defensive piece (Chest Armor, Pants, and Boots) should ideally incorporate as many of these three core elements as possible.
It is worth noting that All Resistances is an exceptionally rare and premium affix, typically regarded as a late-game attribute used to fine-tune and perfect a defensive build. Therefore, I highly recommend immediately configuring your loot filter to highlight All Resistances so you do not miss any gear pieces bearing this valuable attribute.
However, please be aware that within Horadric Cube, All Resistances is categorized as a defensive affix, rather than a standard resistance affix. This means you cannot obtain this specific affix simply by using basic Tuning Prisms; you must manually reroll your gear's defensive affixes to have a chance at rolling this particular premium stat.
As for Life and Armor, these two defensive attributes are incredibly easy to acquire, they are the absolute fundamentals. Your maximum Life serves as the base value for all Toughness calculations; beyond your standard defensive gear, weapons and rings are excellent sources for obtaining additional life.
If you are able to replace a secondary damage affix on your weapon with a Greater Affix (GA) tier Life affix, or even Life on Hit, your survivability will see a dramatic improvement, while the impact on your monster-clearing efficiency will be negligible. Therefore, it is recommended that you prioritize seeking out gear featuring defensive Greater Affixes.
Furthermore, thanks to the new Horadric Cube feature introduced in Lord of Hatred, you have the opportunity to re-roll other affixes into offensive ones, allowing you to craft perfect Diablo 4 items with a three offensive, one defensive stat distribution!
Gear Selection
A practical issue arises here: in the endgame phase, most builds typically opt to equip Mythic Unique items, such as Heir of Perdition, or specific Unique items exclusive to their class. However, equipping too many offensive Mythic items can result in a severe deficiency of defensive affixes.
Conventional wisdom suggests that weapons should be dedicated solely to damage output; however, at T12 difficulty, affixes such as Life on Hit and high Maximum Life on a weapon serve as excellent supplements to your survivability. Since gloves and talismans currently provide the vast majority of multiplicative damage bonuses in Diablo 4, replacing a weapon's elemental damage bonus with a defensive affix results in a negligible overall loss of damage output.
Currently, in Diablo 4 Season 13, one of the most dominant defensive gear pieces is undoubtedly Endurant Faith. Although it occupies an offensive gear slot, if your build is already capable of effortlessly one-shotting packs of monsters at T12 difficulty, then sacrificing one offensive affix slot to equip these Unique gloves is more than enough to completely resolve any survivability issues you may face.
If your build generates an exceptionally high amount of healing or Life on Hit, then items like Temerity unique pants can suddenly become a top-tier choice. These pants convert your excess healing into a massive, consistently stable barrier shield, thereby significantly raising your survivability ceiling.
Now, for a cautionary tale: you have undoubtedly heard of Tyrael's Might, but it is not always the absolute best-in-slot option for defense. Unless a Tyrael's Might drops with a Greater Affix for All Resistance or Damage Reduction, a Legendary chest piece featuring perfect defensive affixes and a powerful defensive Aspect will often provide superior survivability benefits compared to a standard Tyrael's Might.
Paragon Board
Once you reach Paragon Level 245 or higher, you no longer need to obsess over chasing down every single minor damage node on your Paragon Board; instead, you can begin prioritizing nodes that provide supplementary defensive benefits.
Rather than expending your precious points to unlock nodes that are situated in remote corners of the skill tree, and offer only negligible boosts to your Glyphs, consider revisiting Armor and Resistance nodes you previously skipped over in your haste to chart a path across the board. By activating just 5 to 10 Magic Nodes on your skill tree, you can easily boost your total Toughness by an additional 10–15%.
Furthermore, do not hesitate to slot in defensive glyphs. For certain classes, these Glyphs can provide up to 10% base damage reduction at Torment 12 difficulty, a benefit far more valuable than a mere 5% additive damage increase.
Whether you are a Diablo 4 Season 13 player or a pioneer who already possesses Lord of Hatred expansion, survival in Torment 12 is a systemic undertaking. You cannot expect to achieve invincibility by relying on a single affix or a solitary unique item.
While the inherent durability of each class varies, by optimizing your build using the strategies outlined above, even the most squishy classes can hold their ground amidst the monster hordes of Torment 12. Remember: your DPS is meaningless unless you stay alive to deal it.

Phase 1 Battle
First off, Mephisto boss fight is divided into two distinct phases. In Phase 1, you will face Mephisto we all know and love, specifically his classic form from Diablo 2.
For his first attack, Mephisto summons a barrage of fireballs to rain down upon you. As this ability is cast, small black circles will appear on the ground, marking the exact landing zones for the fireballs; be sure to dodge them with extreme caution.
Please note: once this attack sequence begins, it persists for several seconds. This means you must maintain constant movement until no new circles appear on the ground.
For his second attack, Mephisto raises both arms, causing his hands to immediately begin glowing with a crimson light. He then proceeds to launch a volley of smaller fireballs in your direction. These fireballs possess a homing effect, so you must move swiftly to create distance until they dissipate on their own.
For his third attack, he creates several pools of poison in his immediate vicinity; these pools then erupt, sending waves of toxic venom spewing out in all directions. When he casts this ability, you will find it extremely difficult to get close enough to Mephisto to deal damage.
During his fourth attack, Mephisto triggers a massive red explosion that engulfs the entire arena. Immediately following this, and accompanied by the sudden appearance of corpses, countless red spikes will erupt from the ground. A few seconds later, these corpses will explode, spawning homing fireballs, which will make a beeline straight for you. This is the moment to put your character's mobility to the test; immediately activate Nether Step and Teleport to dodge and save your life.
For his fifth attack, Mephisto unleashes rings of red lightning that radiate outward. These lightning rings first expand outward before contracting back inward; therefore, you must closely observe their movement patterns and attempt to weave through the gaps between them. Once again, you will need to time your dodges with precision or utilize your movement skills at just the right moment.
If you are playing as a Warlock, I strongly recommend adding extra charges to your Nether Step ability; at critical junctures, this skill can truly be a lifesaver.
Continue your relentless assault on Mephisto, and do not hesitate to consume health potions during this process; as his health bar dwindles, the frequency with which he unleashes his various attacks will increase dramatically.
Once Mephisto's health has been whittled down to approximately 33%, he will unleash his most lethal strike: he hurls a mass of red corpses into the pools of blood surrounding the arena. Immediately thereafter, serpentine red creatures will surge forth from the blood pools and slither across the entire arena.
From this point onward, Mephisto will begin combining all of his various attacks into a chaotic barrage. However, his attacks now follow no discernible pattern, so your only recourse is to rely on your movement skills to desperately scramble for survival.
When you land the final blow, the entire screen will instantly plunge into darkness. The boss has not yet fallen; rather, the real show is just about to begin.
Phase 2 Battle
Welcome to Phase 2! The battle ahead is about to become absolutely chaotic. You will be teleported to a massive, dark arena, a vast pool constructed entirely of blood, where you will face Mephisto head-on. It is worth noting that the combat area in the second phase is significantly smaller than in the first. This works to the boss's advantage, as he can utilize area-of-effect attacks to instantly pull you toward him, thereby putting your mobility skills to the test.
Upon entering this zone, the first detail you will probably notice is that Mephisto possesses the ability to seal off your skills. Once a red circular marker appears around your skill icons, it signifies that you are currently unable to use those specific skills. The only way to regain access to your sealed skills is to head to the specific locations marked on your mini-map and collect the orbs that spawn there.
You might be wondering: exactly how many skills can Mephisto seal at once? I must say that this is entirely random; if luck isn't on your side, he could even disable all of your skills!
Regardless of the situation, the moment you discover that your skills are missing, your top priority must always be to regain your powers immediately. Now, let's take a look at his new set of attacks.
For his first attack, Mephisto slams his fist violently into the pool, causing massive spikes to erupt from the water. Be extremely careful to dodge this, as being struck by it will almost certainly result in instant death.
Mephisto's second move unleashes several red Serpents of Hatred. These serpents will crisscross the battlefield, so you must position yourself carefully to avoid getting trapped and cornered at the points where their paths intersect.
In his third attack, the boss Mephisto swings his arm in a sweeping motion across the entire arena. His fourth move appears similar, but he will first charge up his power before launching a fierce, long-range claw swipe.
After executing a few attacks, he will submerge himself beneath the water, only to resurface moments later accompanied by several corpses. That's right! Just like in the previous phase, these corpses will explode after a few seconds, releasing a volley of fireballs that automatically home in on your location.
Moving on to his fifth attack, Mephisto generates a massive shockwave. If you are struck by this shockwave, you will be stunned, leaving you completely defenseless and highly vulnerable to taking heavy damage from his subsequent attacks. When Mephisto's health is reduced to approximately 66%, several massive faces will surge up from the bottom of the blood pool, spewing fireballs from their mouths to attack the boss.
However, do not let your guard down, as Mephisto will quickly gather all his energy to unleash a barrage of fireballs at you from his chest. Furthermore, he will rotate his torso to track your position, so be sure to keep moving until the fireball onslaught has completely ceased.
During the sixth wave of attacks, Mephisto will summon an increased number of red lightning bolts, striking with pinpoint accuracy at your current location.
Once his health drops to around 50%, Mephisto will submerge himself in the pool once again; this time, however, he will generate a massive whirlpool on the water's surface. Naturally, this ability will forcibly drag you toward the center of the vortex; therefore, you must utilize a movement skill to make a swift escape, otherwise death is inevitable.
Subsequently, a colossal visage of Mephisto will emerge from the pool and snap its jaws; if you happen to be within close proximity at that moment, you will be instantly killed. Thus, avoid the urge to blindly charge in and brawl; instead, practice patience, keep moving, maintain consistent damage output, use Healing Potions to recover health when necessary, and wait patiently for the optimal moment to strike.
When Mephisto's health falls to approximately 33%, the sky will abruptly turn blood-red, accompanied by a violent burst of lightning, a clear sign that victory is now within reach.
In this final phase, he will unleash every one of his offensive abilities simultaneously. We recommend employing a hit-and-run strategy, or remaining in constant motion while dealing damage to him from a safe distance. The key is this: never stop moving and exercise extreme patience.
Persevere in the battle until you finally deliver the killing blow. At that moment, blinding light will erupt from within Mephisto's body, continuing to surge forth until his physical form completely shatters. Congratulations, you have successfully defeated this new Exalted Lair boss!
