CoD Black Ops 7 Top Perks And Wildcards | Best Strategies For Maximizing Your Combat Efficiency
Posted: Nov 19, 2025 Views: 25
When it comes to shooters, since they lack surreal elements, your attacks are based entirely on weapon abilities. Based on this characteristic, Call of Duty: Black Ops series introduced various mechanics to enrich your attack options.
These mechanics are typically represented by perks, supplemented by wildcards, loadouts, etc., whose main function is to grant you new skills or buffs after adding them.
In Black Ops 7, released on November 14th, the game further optimized the perk system through slot changes and perk merging, while also introducing 9 wildcards.
Perks act more like external skills; you can select and equip them to improve your movement and combat efficiency. Wildcards, on the other hand, allow you to customize your setup in unique ways, such as carrying more weapons or perks.
Based on this, we will recommend the top perks and wildcards worth equipping in the current BO7.

Black Ops 7 Perks Overview
First, you need to know that each Black Ops 7 character only has three perk slots. This means that without special wildcard buffs, you can only equip a maximum of three perks.
All perks are divided into three categories: Enforcer (offensive), Recon (re-conative), and Strategist (supportive), represented by red, blue, and green icons.
Without wildcards, the number of perks available per slot is limited. Therefore, careful selection is necessary to maximize the effectiveness of all perks.
If you're unsure whether certain perks are right for you, you can equip them and buy CoD Black Ops 7 bot lobbies to test them in a more relaxed and safer combat environment.
Best Slot 1 Perks
Players generally seem to prefer equipping green and blue perks for the first two slots, as they focus on survivability, mobility, and basic defense, as well as awareness, gear operation, and counter-tactics, respectively.
Therefore, we follow this default guideline and recommend the blue Ghost for slot 1.
This perk makes your bomb-handling movements undetectable by enemy reconnaissance pulses and drones, and makes your movements more stealthy when using a sniper rifle, giving you a distinct stealth style.
Another Recon perk, Ninja, has a similar effect, making your movements quieter and less noticeable to the enemy. However, it's important to note that you cannot use both perks simultaneously unless you equip special wildcards.
Alternatively, you can insert the support-type Flak Jacket in slot 1. It reduces the damage you take from explosions and fire, making it suitable for rushing towards and attempting to capture enemy strongholds, as the firepower you'll face at this point is often lethal.
Best Slot 2 Perks
In the second slot, we highly recommend equipping the green Fast Hands. Its effect is to allow you to switch weapons faster and extend the fuse time when throwing grenades.
The first effect is easy to understand: in a fast-paced shooter like BO7, once your primary weapon's ammo is depleted, if you can't switch weapons in time, you're likely to be killed by the enemy. Having Fast Hands significantly increases your survivability.
The second effect, while seemingly contradicting "fast," actually gives you more time to think and adjust your aim when throwing grenades, maximizing the explosive damage.
Another perk worth including in slot 2 is Vigilance. Belonging to Recon category, it helps you gather more intelligence. More specifically, this usually manifests as increased mini-map visibility or immunity to enemy jammers.
Best Slot 3 Perks
In this slot, we'll focus on recommending red perks, such as Bankroll. It rewards you with 150 Scorestreaks upon respawning, with the potential to unlock more Scorestreaks that provide supplies.
Another worthwhile red perk is Looper, which allows you to repeatedly gain Scorestreaks from the same hit, ideal for racking up points or breaking win streaks.
If you want to equip Recon or Strategist type perks in this slot, the blue Tracker is highly recommended. It displays the approximate location of nearby enemies and their footsteps on the mini-map.
More importantly, if you're aiming later, this perk can automatically mark enemies and immediately show the direction of the next nearest enemy on the mini-map after a kill.
What Are Combat Specialties?
The game allows you to unlock combat specialties as new buffs based on the types of all the perks you end up equipping. If you equip all three slots with perks of the same color, you can unlock the following core specialties:
- All red - Enforcer: Briefly increases your movement and health regeneration speed.
- All green - Strategist: Increases target score, speeds up equipment deployment, and reduces distance.
- All blue - Recon: Immediately sees the direction of the nearest target after respawning.
If at least two of the three perks are of different categories, you can unlock the following hybrid specialties:
- Red and blue - Scout: After being killed by bullets, you are completely hidden on the enemy mini-map for 5 seconds.
- Red and green - Tactician: You gain an extra 10 seconds of points from bullet kills when you get an assist.
- Blue and green - Operative: You gain a Field Upgrade charge for stealth kills.
Therefore, in addition to choosing the best perks, you should activate the most suitable combat specialties based on your personal needs to enhance the overall effectiveness of your character's perks system.
Best Wildcards
Currently, there are nine wildcards available in CoD Black Ops 7:
- Tac Expert: Unlocked at level 15
- Overkill: Unlocked at level 20
- Danger Close: Unlocked at level 24
- Gunfighter: Unlocked at level 29
- Perk Greed: Unlocked at level 33
- Prepper: Unlocked at level 38
- Flyswatter: Unlocked at level 41
- High Roller: Unlocked at level 48
- Specialist: Unlocked at level 53
While each loadout can equip one wildcard, you can't possibly create nine loadouts to rotate constantly, especially since new wildcards may be released in the future. Therefore, the following are recommended:
- Overkill: Equip any non-melee weapon in both your primary and secondary weapon slots.
- Gunfighter: Adds three extra attachments to your primary weapon.
- Perk Greed: Allows you to equip one extra perk.
That concludes our introduction. As you progress through the game, you'll unlock more perks, and the game may add even more. You can update your own best perks or wildcards lists at any time - flexible adjustments are the best strategy!
