CoD Black Ops 7 Endgame Mode Explained | Open-World Co-op Missions, Avalon Map, And Extraction Gameplay

CoD Black Ops 7 is now available for preloading, currently at 203 GB. As you know, this series of games is always very large, so it's best to allocate plenty of hard drive space beforehand.
A new mode called Endgame has also been announced. This is a multiplayer co-op campaign, but in the preload file, it's called Worlds Collide, not the officially advertised Endgame. Let's take a look at how this mode works.

Endgame Mode Gameplay
According to official developer interviews and blog posts, Endgame Mode unlocks after completing 11 missions in the main campaign. The core stage of this mode is a massive open-world map called Avalon.
This mode supports up to 32 players simultaneously in an Avalon instance, either solo or in a party of up to 4. Furthermore, even if some teammates haven't unlocked Endgame Mode, a player who has can act as the party leader and bring them along.
Players can choose from the main hero of the campaign or a brand-new operator to enter this mode. Currently, there are 24 operators to choose from, each with independent growth and progression. The ultimate goal is to reach Zone 4, the most difficult zone.
Avalon

Players will parachute into Avalon using a wingsuit. POIs will be dynamically generated on the map, which players can mark and travel to directly without opening the large map.
Avalon is divided into four difficulty zones, from easy to hard. Each zone has a recommended combat level. It also includes many classic landmarks from the multiplayer and Zombies modes of previous Black Ops games, such as Raid and Hazard, some of which are replicas, while others have been redesigned to some extent as inspiration.
- Zone 1: Recommended combat level 0. Includes landmarks such as Cliff Town and Water Treatment.
- Zone 2: Recommended combat level 10. Includes landmarks such as Excavation Site and Heliport.
- Zone 3: Recommended combat level 30. Includes landmarks such as Winery and Casino.
- Zone 4: Recommended combat level 45. Includes landmarks such as Firing Range and Fort.
Missions And Extractions
Endgame missions include eliminating enemy strongholds, completing assignments, exploration and collection, and extraction. Additionally, there are contaminated zones on the map where toxins are leaking, with mission lines revolving around cleanup, investigation, and extraction.
During matches, completing specific activities will earn rewards such as Self-Revive Kits and C4; however, these items can only be used in the current game.
Once you successfully complete a mission, you must proceed to the extraction point, clear the area, hold it, wait for VTOL to land, and then successfully extract. All items and equipment you acquire will be saved as part of your progress.
If you die or fail to extract successfully in a given game, you will lose all uncollected loot and progress, including weapons and equipment. Only a successful extraction will carry over your acquired weapons, equipment, and experience points to the next game.
While this sounds somewhat like the currently popular multiplayer cooperative extraction games, this mode is entirely PvE; there is no direct combat between you and other players, but cooperation is possible.
Operators And Combat Rating
Before each Endgame deployment, players select an Operator slot, each slot representing a character's combat journey. They can then choose a Major Ability and a Minor Ability, which determine their playstyle and preferences in Endgame.
Players increase their Combat Rating by defeating enemies and completing objectives in this mode. Combat Rating permanently increases your character's base attributes, including Health, Armor, Movement Speed, and Damage. There is a maximum Combat Rating of 60.
Major Abilities
Major Abilities are powerful tactical skills with longer cooldowns:
- Ballistic Shell: Creates an energy shield to block enemy fire.
- Active Camo: Grants temporary invisibility. Gunshots are disabled.
- Hand Cannon: A powerful, high-damage pistol with long-range accuracy.
- Crash Cart: Instantly revives downed teammates and yourself within range, providing brief invulnerability.
- Vision Pulse: Marks enemies through walls; marked enemies take increased damage.
- War Machine: A single-shot grenade launcher with a very high blast radius and damage.
- Shadow Break: Creates a field that can teleport and damage enemies.
- Drone Pod: A deployed aerial drone that searches for and explodes upon encountering enemies.
Minor Abilities
Minor Abilities are more flexible, utility-based skills with shorter cooldowns:
- Grappling Hook: Grabs onto surfaces to escape; can also be used for climbing.
- Portal Grenade: A grenade that creates an illusion and locks onto enemies; its duration is short.
- Kinetic Jump: Greatly increases jump height; holding down allows for an even higher jump. Stuns nearby enemies upon landing.
- Flicker: Quickly teleports a short distance in the direction you are facing; can also pass through enemies.
- Supply Link: Provides you and your squad with ammunition, armor, equipment, and a portion of your Major Ability charges.
- Black Hat: Infiltrates a target and disables them, destroys enemy vehicles, or makes them fight for you.
Skill Tracks
Skill Tracks are similar to a talent tree. As your combat level increases, you can choose one of two random skills to enhance your character each level. These skills are divided into different tracks, such as:
- Gunner: Improves weapon handling, reload speed, and aiming accuracy.
- Surgeon: Restores health and heals teammates.
- Daredevil: Focuses on mobility and melee combat.
- Tactician: Acquires more equipment and ammunition.
- Berserker: Higher movement speed and damage.
- Bulldozer: Has a large amount of armor, providing damage resistance.
Weapon And Loot System
Weapons in this mode have a color-coded quality system; the higher the quality, the higher the damage. You can find Workbenches on the map to upgrade the quality of acquired weapons. Additionally, this mode includes Exotic Weapons, which are the highest quality weapons.
Furthermore, the developers have introduced a complete weapon camouflage unlocking system in the campaign mode for the first time. Currently, 16 unique military camouflages, special camouflages, and mastery camouflages are available. Daily and weekly challenges are available in all modes, including co-op, allowing players to gain new objectives, experience rewards, and progress daily.
The above is a general overview of Black Ops 7 Endgame mode. Based on the UI, a complete Endgame match is estimated to last between 45 minutes and 1 hour. Regardless, this new mode is a worthwhile experiment, and a more refined PvPvE extraction shooting mode may be released in the future.
