  After nearly a year of preparation, the global version of Aion 2 is set to launch officially on October 5, with Founder's Pack owners gaining early access starting September 30.

  As a quintessential Korean MMO, Aion 2 has undergone significant overhauls as the developers aim to align it with long-standing titles like World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV. The global version will focus exclusively on PC and minimize pay-to-win elements.

  

  Aion 2 Platforms

  The global version of Aion 2 will currently be available only on Steam and their own PURPLE platform, with no mobile support. This version will operate independently and include the optimization improvements introduced to Korean server over the past year, although its progression will be somewhat behind and will begin with Season 1.

  The developers explained that this decision was made based on localization strategies developed with partners in regions such as North America and Europe. At present, the official team has no plans to release a mobile version outside Asia.

  Although Aion 2 global version does not support mobile devices, it is not strictly PC-exclusive. Aion 2 already supports controller input on Korean and Taiwanese servers. Although official button mapping has not yet been implemented, players can simply connect a controller and play the game.

  The official team also confirmed during a livestream that a console release will be introduced in the future. However, it will not launch alongside the global version, and it is expected to arrive on consoles around six months to one year later.

  When it comes to graphics enhancement technology, Korean server may serve as a testing ground for these features. Once they become stable, they could then be introduced to the global version.

  Mobile graphics, meanwhile, are already compressed and are far behind PC version in visual quality, making it even less likely that these technologies will be applied to mobile devices.

  Subscription

  

  The subscription system also differs between the global version and Korean server. First, it is important to clarify the game's business model. Aion 2 is a completely Free-to-Play game rather than a mandatory monthly-subscription MMO like World of Warcraft or FFXIV.

  This means that the entire game can be downloaded and played for free, with no content locked behind a subscription.

  Free players can access all Classes, all Dungeons, all PvP content, and life systems such as crafting and pets.

  Even without a subscription, players can experience all of the game's core content, and the subscription is not mandatory. Its main function is to unlock Auction House and Trading Market, allowing players to exchange AION2 Kinah for Quna.

  After subscribing, players will also receive more loot rewards when completing Dungeons and recover more Energy for Dungeon settlement, which improves overall farming efficiency. For players who want to participate deeply in the economy system or trade equipment and materials, this is an essential feature.

  Korean server and global version also differ in their subscription services. Korean server offers multiple subscription tiers. Although the subscription fees on Korean server have already been reduced, they are still higher than the global server's USD 15 subscription.

  In addition, wings on Korean server provide stat bonuses through their appearance, while wings on the global server will serve purely as cosmetic items without additional stats.

  How to Play Aion 2 on PC?

  When Aion 2 launches globally, players in every region will not necessarily be able to access the game. Below is a detailed list of the blocked countries and regions, along with an analysis of the reasons behind these restrictions and possible solutions.

  If PURPLE does not block these regions, players from Belgium, the Netherlands, China, and other affected areas may be able to play normally through PURPLE platform.
