The long-awaited Ludra Raid in Aion 2 officially launched on November 4th! It didn't arrive alone; it's part of a major new patch that includes several other significant changes.

To ensure a smoother experience in Aion 2 moving forward, it's important to familiarize yourself not only with the mechanics of the Ludra Raid but also with the other key updates in this patch. Let's take a look.

Crafting system changes

Beyond Ludra Raid, the adjustments to the crafting system are likely the most important part of this update, after all, a character's overall strength is largely determined by their gear.

When crafting Star Dragon Lord gear, you now have the option to guarantee a 100% success rate, sparing you the frustration of bad luck caused by RNG.

However, to maintain game balance, choosing this option binds the gear to your character, making it untradeable on the market. Additionally, it prevents the activation of the 25% combo effect.

In short: opting for a 100% success rate offers more stability but lower potential returns, while skipping it carries higher risks alongside higher potential rewards.

If you're the type of player who enjoys taking risks for greater combat advantages, it's best to buy Aion 2 Kina before crafting.

Since the inherent randomness may require multiple crafting attempts to achieve your desired result, the process can quickly consume a significant amount of currency.

Please note that other crafting recipes remain unchanged; they still follow the original 25% success rate mechanic and carry the risk of failure.

Expedition Dungeon changes

This Aion 2 patch introduces optimizations to the dungeon system, specifically focusing on Expedition dungeons. First, the drop rates and values for items in these dungeons have been aligned with the rewards found in Conquest dungeons.

This ensures that even when running beginner-level dungeons, you won't feel discouraged by a lack of resources.

Furthermore, a fourth tier of rewards has been added to Expedition dungeons, now including Refining Stones, though these are bound to your character.

The amount of Kina obtainable has also been slightly adjusted. These changes certainly make these dungeons more appealing; previously, aside from the treasure chests, running these instances was essentially pointless.

It is worth noting, however, that the treasure chest mechanic has been adjusted: you now need to accumulate 28 runs to secure a guaranteed reward, whereas previously, you only needed 3 runs to reach the guaranteed chest.

To be frank, this significantly increases the grind factor of these dungeons, though some players may find this acceptable. It is also possible that the requirement could be lowered again in the future.

Sanctuary new content

In Aion 2, Sanctuary refers to top-tier PvE content, essentially a raid system. Consequently, the changes to the Sanctuary in this update are specifically tailored to the new Ludra Raid.

As you may know, this raid features both Normal and Hard modes. Beyond the difference in difficulty, the primary reward pools are largely identical, with the only real distinction lying in the unique quality rewards.

In Hard mode, the highly sought-after Abyssal Bracelet has a 20% drop rate, compared to just 10% in Normal mode. This level 70 bracelet comes with a +19 enhancement bonus, giving it a clear advantage over other mainstream bracelets currently available in Aion 2.

The rest of the reward pools are quite similar across both modes. Other notable items include Heroic quality Abyssal Ludra Artwork and Sealed Abyssal Waves Wings.

These wings are exceptionally powerful; they provide PvE damage bonuses and damage reduction, along with a 4% cooldown reduction, making them BiS gear for virtually any build.

Even if you don't need them yourself, you can sell them on the marketplace for an amount of Aion 2 Kinah that might well exceed your expectations.

Changes regarding Gear Change Vouchers

As one of the primary methods for obtaining Aion 2 gear you desire, Gear Change Vouchers are highly coveted items. When opening the guaranteed reward chests from Ludra Raid, these are definitely items you should keep an eye out for.

The vouchers awarded in Ludra Raid differ between Normal and Hard modes; vouchers from Normal mode are worth only half as much as those from Hard mode.

Additionally, the game now allows you to use Substance Morph system to convert Normal mode vouchers into Hard mode vouchers at a 2:1 ratio.

This means you can farm the normal mode repeatedly, and once your character has grown stronger, switch to farming the hard mode to gather the materials needed to craft your desired gear, most notably for the newly added bracelets.

Other optimizations

Previously, certain pets in Aion 2 could not be obtained through exploration; however, the new patch has expanded the ways to acquire them. The exact mechanics for this remain to be seen.

Furthermore, a new area called Chaotic Outer Reshanta has been added to Aion 2 Abyss. In this zone, all players' gear stats are normalized, allowing F2P players to experience genuine PvP gameplay.

As it stands, however, the area feels quite barren, aside from NPC merchants, there is almost nothing there. Unless a player is specifically looking for PvP, there is little reason to visit.

To attract more players to Chaotic Outer Reshanta, the zone needs more objectives beyond just PvP. Otherwise, even with better PvP rewards, it will likely remain less appealing than the standard Reshanta region.

That covers the key highlights of Aion 2 patch released on November 4th. We hope this overview helps you as you continue your journey in the game!
