WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ DPS Tier List | Only These 4 Specs Are S-Tier for High Keys
For players aiming for high keys, WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ is launching in North America (August 18th). After final adjustments in Patch 12.1 and extensive testing, the strength of each DPS specialization in the high keys environment is quite clear. Let's take a look at their strength ranking in Season 2 Mythic+:
- Tier S: Arcane Mage, Arms Warrior, Outlaw Rogue, Windwalker Monk
- Tier A: Frost Death Knight, Elemental Shaman, Havoc Demon Hunter, Balance Druid
- Tier B: Unholy Death Knight, Destruction Warlock, Enhancement Shaman, Shadow Priest

Tier S
Arcane Mage
Arcane Mage firmly holds its place as a Tier S DPS specialization in WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+, not only for its terrifying damage output in boss fights but also for its ability to clear surrounding mobs while precisely targeting high-priority enemies.
Although Arcane Mage's Primal Leywarden's Attire two-piece set was nerfed in Season 2 because of its overwhelming power, slightly pushing its leading position, it didn't significantly affect its damage output in high keys, maintaining its Tier S status.
Arms Warrior
In fact, Arms Warrior is almost on par with Arcane Mage. Its performance in prioritizing target kills is overwhelming, its boss damage is also considerable, and its survivability is excellent.
However, players should note that the bug in Midnight Season 2 where Executioner caused Slayers to receive double rewards has now been fixed, and Arms Warrior's overall performance has returned to expected levels.
However, Arms Warrior's practical value in high keys still warrants its inclusion in Tier S, and it remains the most noteworthy DPS specialization in Tier S.
Outlaw Rogue
Outlaw Rogue closely follows Arcane Mage and Arms Warrior, breaking into Tier S in Season 2 Mythic+.
Its formidable AoE and single-target damage, absurd survivability, and Rogue-like control - in some top-tier rankings, it can even rival the two mentioned above, making it a very promising contender in Tier S.
Windwalker Monk
Windwalker Monk's offensive potential is beyond doubt, deserving a Tier S rating, but the biggest question it raises for players is whether it can survive in high keys.
Patch 12.1 improved Windwalker Monk's consistent damage output, making survivability paramount. In high-key games, even a slight weakness in survivability can be a major concern.
Therefore, while ranked in Tier S, Windwalker Monk still cannot compete with the truly all-around top-tier DPS specializations mentioned earlier.
To address this issue, you might need to utilize higher-level items - such as Concentrated Silvermoon Health Potion added in Patch 12.1 - to compensate for its survivability shortcomings.
Of course, sufficient gold is paramount. IGGM.com WoW Midnight gold for sale can quickly help you fill this gap, allowing Windwalker Monk to completely dominate high keys!
Furthermore, you can earn points through IGGM Check in (new registered users only). Accumulated points can be redeemed for coupons to make your future gold orders even more cost-effective.
Tier A
Frost Death Knight
Frost Death Knight's Tier A ranking is expected.
WoW Midnight Season 2's class adjustments gave Frost Death Knight a 9% base damage bonus, but also weakened its overpowered Season 2 set bonus - the development team seems to want to shift more power to basic skills rather than letting the set take on too much.
The damage is already sufficient, and Frost Death Knight's inherent survivability is very strong, so the class adjustments do not affect its Tier A ranking.
Elemental Shaman
Elemental Shaman is a DPS specialization that easily made it into Tier A, as its performance seems specifically designed for high keys.
With consistent AoE and good single-target damage, plus the full support capabilities of Skyfury and Shaman, the build is relatively complete, allowing players to use Elemental Shaman with confidence in high keys.
Havoc Demon Hunter
The official stance is that Havoc Demon Hunter's single-target damage was too strong, so its four-piece set bonus was heavily nerfed and its Reap skill was weakened.
However, Havoc Demon Hunter also received a 14% base damage increase to compensate, and its AoE portion of Reap remains powerful.
Therefore, Havoc Demon Hunter can still remain in Tier A, becoming one of the most survivable characters in Midnight Season 2 Mythic+.
Balance Druid
Although survivability remains the biggest and most frequently discussed issue, Balance Druid can still maintain its Tier A position.
Its AoE is excellent, and its damage output in high keys is sufficient, so there's no need to place it in a lower tier ranking.

Tier B
Unholy Death Knight
The main reason Unholy Death Knight didn't reach the top tier is its relatively weak single-target damage; its AoE and survivability are actually quite good.
Furthermore, Unholy Death Knight's overall performance in dungeons is quite well-rounded, making it a very strong DPS in Tier B.
Destruction Warlock
Destruction Warlock has the potential to enter a higher tier. Although its previous weakness was burst damage, Patch 12.1 addressed this aspect.
However, considering its competition with the aforementioned DPS classes, Destruction Warlock is safer in Tier B, as Warlocks typically need strong output capabilities to reach higher ranks.
Enhancement Shaman
Enhancement Shaman in WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ is quite interesting - having just received a 5% overall damage boost, its base output and AoE are decent, but it's still more convincing in Tier B.
Shadow Priest
The final Shadow Priest might be a controversial champion, as it does possess a powerful spread cleave, but its mobility, survivability, and total dungeon damage aren't quite enough to place it among the top tiers.
Professional players have wildly varying opinions on Shadow Priest, so Tier B might be a more suitable fit.

Of course, this tier list is only a reference before Season 2 Mythic+ begins; its true strength will be tested in actual gameplay.
If your favorite DPS specialization isn't ranked at the top, don't be discouraged - familiarizing yourself with its rhythm and details is often more important than blindly chasing meta stats.
The gates to WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ are about to open; best of luck on your push!
WoW Midnight Season 2 Gear System Changes | New Upgrade Materials and Endgame Gear Sources
WoW Midnight Season 2 will launch on August 18, bringing another round of gear updates for players.
In Season 2, the official team has made several changes to gear acquisition, including raids, Mythic+ dungeons, and crafted gear. Here are some of the ways to obtain gear during Season 2.

Gear System Changes
Nebulous Voidcore
Extra rolls in Mythic+ dungeons will still require only one Nebulous Voidcore. Raid extra rolls will also require only 1 Nebulous Voidcore, down from the 2 required in Season 1.
Extra rolls will continue to remove items you have already obtained from the loot table as a form of bad-luck protection. This means you will eventually be guaranteed to obtain the item you want, just as in Season 1.
You can now choose extra rolls as a reward option from Great Vault. If the item you receive from Vault is not ideal, you can instead take an additional roll opportunity.
Starting in Week 8 of season 2, Orin Straylight will grant you one additional Voidcore each week. You will also no longer need to travel to Netherstorm to obtain Nebulous Voidcores.
Extra rolls are extremely valuable because items obtained through them will always match the quality of gear from Great Vault. If you participate in Mythic raids, the item will always be at the highest upgrade level.
Ascendant Venomstones
In WoW Midnight 12.1 Season 2 PTR, Ascendant Voidcores were renamed Ascendant Venomstones and will return during the middle of the season.
These items allow gear to be upgraded to higher item levels, but they will not be available at the beginning of Season 2.
Once they become available, you can further increase the item level of fully upgraded Hero track gear, Mythic-quality gear, and the highest-quality crafted gear.
The upgradeable gear types include weapons, trinkets, and the newly added Necklaces, all of which can be upgraded onto Mythic track.
Mythic items upgraded this way will reach item level 334, while Hero items will reach item level 321.
Players can obtain Ascendant Venomstones from Heroic or Mythic raid bosses, Mythic+ dungeons at Level 10 or higher, Level 11 Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey rewards.
Upgrading a single item now requires 10 Ascendant Venomstones, compared with only 5 in Season 1. This indicates that the official team intends to slow down gear progression because the rate of gear accumulation in Season 1 was considered too fast.
If you want to play WoW Midnight, you can join IGGM WoW Game Time Giveaways on Facebook; 5 lucky winners will receive 60 days game time. Even if you're new, this is enough time to catch up on gear.
Matrix Catalyst
Catalyst charges in WoW Midnight Season 2 are called Venomblight Manaflux.
Obtaining the 4-set bonus should be the primary goal. Do not worry too much about the Item Level of the set pieces you initially convert. The first priority is to complete your four-piece Tier Set as quickly as possible.
Even if this means running LFR to complete the 4-piece set, it is worthwhile because you can only start earning additional Catalyst charges after unlocking the 4-set bonus.
Once the 4-piece set is unlocked, you will obtain Catalyst charges from content such as Delves and raid boss kills. Catalyst charges are generally earned about once every two weeks.
Matrix Catalyst will now preserve the secondary stats, tertiary stats, and special effects on the original item.
This means your Best in Slot setup will no longer simply consist of a particular set piece. Instead, the ideal version will be a set piece with specific additional effects.

Great Vault
Great Vault will always reward gear from the next difficulty level based on the content you completed during the previous week. If you clear a Heroic raid, Vault will contain base-level Mythic-quality gear.
For Mythic raid players, Vault will always provide 6/6 Mythic-quality gear without requiring Crests for upgrades.
Mythic raid gear is the strongest gear available in WoW Midnight. Epic-quality gear dropped by the final two raid bosses can reach 9/6 on the upgrade track, exceeding the normal system limit.
Item Level 344 is the highest Item Level in Season 2, and some rare items can also reach this level.
The base gear from Mythic raids is Item Level 334. Keep an eye out for rare items such as trinkets and weapons that are suitable for your class and specialization.

Delves
Delves will remain an important source of WoW Midnight gold, Crests and gear, especially during the early stages of WoW Midnight Season 2.
Hero-quality gear from Bountiful Delve chests requires your Delver's Journey level to reach 9.
However, Trove Hunter's Bounty Map allows you to obtain one piece of Hero-quality gear each week from hidden chests in Level 8 to Level 11 Delves.
The map can be obtained by defeating Delve Nemeses or completing weekly quests.
Once your Prey Hunter's Journey reaches Level 4, you can collect Afflicted Souls from Heavy Chests at the end of each Bountiful Delve at Level 6 or higher.
These souls can accelerate progress during Nightmare Prey hunts and bring out the target more quickly, while also providing one piece of Champion-quality gear per character each week.
Once Prey Hunter's Journey reaches Level 9, using Afflicted Souls in Nightmare Prey will reward Hero-quality gear.
Crafted Gear
Crafted gear still requires Sparks, and their acquisition is time-gated. Most items require 2 Sparks of Tides, while dual-wielded weapons and similar items require 4.
Sparks can be obtained through the weekly quest in Silvermoon City. If you fall behind on Spark acquisition, you can catch up by completing Delves, Mythic+ dungeons, defeating raid bosses, or participating in PvP.
The overall value of crafted gear is slightly lower in WoW Midnight Season 2. Crafted gear using Heroic Crests requires 80 Crests, while directly dropped Hero-quality gear is also Item Level 318 and does not require Crests.
It is recommended to save crafted gear for the later stages of the season, or wait until you can consistently obtain Mythic Crests and then use 80 Mythic Crests to jump directly from Season 1 Item Level to Season 2 Mythic Item Level.
In addition to the methods above, World Quests, weekly quests, and Renown can also provide gear. However, compared with these basic gear sources, Item Level 344 gear is what you should ultimately aim for.
