WoW MoP Classic Raid Popularity Reasons: Why Is It Possible To Be The Best Ever?

The brightest star in World of WarCraft’s early days was its raids, and I believe this has long been a consensus for almost every warrior in Azeroth.
From the ever-expanding retail servers to the current Mists of Pandaria Classic, there are at least a few daunting raids and bosses in basically every expansion, and completing these top raids is still one of the most challenging parts of the game.
But how to make the raids in each new expansion stand out from the countless classic raid dungeons in the past is actually what the developers have been pursuing. So here, we will unveil the mystery and discuss the secrets behind the developers’ grand raid plan for MoP Classic. So, let’s get started.
10-Day Buffer To Prepare Players
First, WoW MoP Classic launches on July 21, but the first raid, Mogu’Shan Vaults, isn’t available until July 31. Why?
You’d think it was just a standard delay, right? But the developers didn’t want you to know that this delay was a deliberate stress-relief tactic.
They’ve learned from past WoW Classic launch expansions. They know that the burnout from raid competition at launch is real and can drive players to quit the game.
So, the 10-day gap is a way of telling us to relax, farm dungeons, practice your classes, and save up some WoW MoP Classic gold and gear.
They’ve deliberately removed the pressure of launching a raid, so that the launch experience doesn’t feel like a frantic rush. Instead, it’s a true adventure, a design choice made with players first.
This time, you don’t have to participate in a raid because you feel pressured and afraid of missing out. So, whether you want to prepare your gear and start right away, or plan to take your time, it’s up to you!
Mogu’Shan Vaults Is A Warm-up Raid
By July 31, you may be ready to participate in the raid.
When you step into Mogu’Shan Vaults and start preparing to accumulate gear and face the tough battles, the secret is here.
The developers don’t actually want these gear to be your main goal, so they deliberately designed Mogu’Shan Vaults as a warm-up raid. The real explosive point and top sets are waiting for you in Heart of Fear and Terrace of Endless Spring, and these raids will come soon.
They really want you to feel the power of clearing Mogu’Shan Vaults, get a victory easily and quickly, and accumulate momentum. This is a psychological channel to the ultimate goal.
We can definitely get two decent pieces of equipment in Mogu’Shan Vaults first, although most of the equipment will be replaced later, but this is actually to boost your confidence before the real challenge begins.
But the first raid isn’t just a warm-up with nothing to offer, in fact, one of the most beautiful and rare mounts in the game, Astral Cloud Serpent, will drop here!
New Celestial Dungeons Replace LFR Feature
One of the biggest and most controversial news about WoW Classic MoP right now is the removal of Raid Finder, aka LFR. While everyone is still arguing about it on the forums, the developers have secretly been working on a very clever replacement that will ultimately give you more benefits than LFR feature.
It’s called Celestial Dungeons, and it’s a whole new difficulty level. These dungeons offer the same raid level challenges, gear, and level sets as the previous LFR.
A quick 30-minute Celestial Dungeon will not only allow you to walk away with some gear, but more importantly, you’ll also gain progress towards Legendary Cloak questline.
You see, they also knew that removing LFR would cause enormous problems for Legendary Cloak questline. After all, to complete the quest, you have to participate in the raid, and many people will choose to use LFR to do so.
However, the good news is that you can now progress Legendary Cloak questline in Celestial Dungeon.
Whether you like it or not, the developers have done the impossible. Not only have they kept the ease of use and Legendary questline progress of LFR, but they have also incorporated it into a system that requires skill, coordination, and social interaction.
They fixed LFR’s biggest flaws without ignoring the average player. It’s a brilliant game design.
So, what do you think? Do you think replacing LFR with Celestial Dungeon was a wise decision, or does it change the true experience of the original game?
Throne of Thunder Raid Returns
Next, I would like to ask any old players what you think is the best raid in the history of World of WarCraft expansions, and we will definitely hear this name - Throne of Thunder.
This is not just a raid tier, but core content full of nostalgia. Whether it is the combat design, the unique atmosphere, or the epic music, it is what players are most eager to revisit. As a result, Throne of Thunder has been confirmed to be added to WoW Classic Mists of Pandaria as a level 90 contested raid.
You can bet that the upcoming Throne of Thunder will be reworked with extra care to maximize epic rewards. This means that every piece of loot you earn from Mogu’Shan Vaults, Terrace of Endless Spring, and Heart of Fear in Phase 1 will make your character stronger and secretly help you prepare for Throne of Thunder that will be released in a few months.
Siege of Orgrimmar Improvements
In the final chapter, we will have a 14-boss raid, Siege of Orgrimmar, which is undoubtedly the epic end of the story.
But every vanilla WoW raid player remembers a painful lesson, Ramius. Although it was a large raid with so many bosses, it was actually a tedious nightmare.
So, in order to avoid repeating the same mistakes, the developers embedded some solutions into the game design. The first, and likely upcoming, is flex leveling, which will allow players to enter at different levels, rather than just 10 or 25. This is perfect for experiencing the storyline. It’s also a good choice for such a large-scale raid.
Also, the developers are playing nice by allowing you to make significant progress in Legendary Cloak questline in the early stages outside of the raid, and the final step of the questline will most likely require killing Garage instead. After all, even if there is no LFR in the game, who would pass up a legendary questline that only needs to kill Garage to get the final reward?
It makes a lot of sense for every player to beat Garage and experience this epic storyline at least once. After that, the pressure really goes away. Because only the most hardcore guilds will farm Siege of Orgrimmar every week in pursuit of more precious loot.
For everyone else, however, they give you a way to understand the epic story without forcing you to do a repetitive long chore, while respecting your playtime and the story.
All in all, the developers have learned a lot from the past 20 years of experience and tried to use these experiences to bring us the best and most fast-paced WoW MoP Classic raid to date. This is a player-centric journey from beginning to end, with an easy start, a warm-up process that allows you to prepare well to build confidence, and an epic ending that respects your time. So, now is the time to enter MoP Classic and start your raiding journey!
