Torchlight Infinite SS9 Best Level 1 Pets: Which Can Significantly Boost Your Exploration Efficiency?

Posted: Aug 14, 2025 Views: 47

Pets have always been an essential part of exploration in Torchlight Infinite, as they offer more than just cosmetic benefits, they also boost gameplay. This is no exception in the currently active SS9 Outlaw Season, with some even significantly impacting your currency farming or character power-up.

Among the many pets available for summoning, those that increase the drop rate and quality of loot are particularly important to consider during gameplay. Therefore, here we will introduce you to the list of the best pets in Torchlight Infinite SS9, including the attributes they have and the effectiveness they bring.

Torchlight Infinite SS9 Best Level 1 Pets: Which Can Significantly Boost Your Exploration Efficiency?

Evaluation Criteria

Before we begin, here are the criteria used in this guide to evaluate the various pets. First and foremost, the pet's impact on your character's ability to farm Torchlight Infinite Flame Elementium, which is crucial for success in the game.

Next, consider your daily farming strategy after using this pet, such as whether your Diesel strategy will change, or whether a more convenient grinding strategy is available. With these two criteria in mind, guide lists several pets worth recommending to you.

Eternity Summoner

In conversations among players, it is more inclined to be called a dark search pet, because its luminous effect will allow you to have higher visibility and promote your progress in some explorable areas with low brightness and many obstacles.

But it provides you with more than just that. After you equip it, the quality of the rewards you get after completing each battle will increase by 25%, and there is a 45% chance to unlock two additional reward types, which plays a huge role in your farming of Blueprints.

Thanks to this high percentage, Eternity Summoner is a natural best pet. Furthermore, Pactspirit required to craft it, while legendary, is not very difficult to farm and can be obtained in about half an hour, making it very easy to obtain compared to other pets.

Kong

Next up is Kong. While it doesn't improve the quality or quantity of your loot, it does have a 10% chance to double the amount of Memory dropped, which can directly increase your character's physical damage, attack speed, and critical strike rating - essential stats for players who love dealing damage.

However, Kong has some drawbacks—it's difficult to fight Tier 2 and Tier 3 bosses, which means you can't farm the very useful Memory Fragments from those fights, slowing down exploration to a crawl, even stagnant.

Additionally, Twin Reflections, which can be used to craft multiple rewards and crafted items, become more difficult to farm. If you want to make this pet more effective, you can only increase its level and survivability by investing more Torchlight Infinite Currency in it, but this often takes a lot of time and effort.

Cube

Cube is currently one of the most popular pets in Torchlight Infinite, primarily due to its bonus of dropping 20 additional Crystals and Divinity Stones, as well as its 22% chance to double all drops.

However, please note that the developers are intentionally reducing Cube's spawn rate. Therefore, if you want to take advantage of this pet's immense potential for rapid farming and smooth exploration, you may need to invest more time and in-game currency in Gacha system.

Nightmare

Due to the buffs to Dream affix in Torchlight Infinite Season 9, this pet has become a highly sought-after tier 1 pet. It increases the amount of loot you receive from killing certain Nightmare monsters by 40%, and has a 10% chance of doubling the quality of loot in these challenges.

Although player feedback suggests the quality of loot in Nightmare challenges is generally low this season, the sheer quantity is undeniable! Excess or worthless items can be placed on Auction House in exchange for more Torchlight Infinite currency.

Mistville Orphan

As for pets that only grant benefits within the town of Mistville, that's a matter of opinion. This pet grants a 10% chance of receiving three treasure chests and skipping the subsequent battle after completing clockwork in this small town. Its primary purpose is to reduce the time spent on these quests and challenges.

This is very necessary for players who are new to Torchlight Infinite, but for those who can skillfully pass the level, the effectiveness of the buffs this pet has is minimal, and it will only be of some use after it is upgraded to level 6.

Dorothy

Similarly, Dorothy, which grants you 5-10 additional Compasses per level, is currently a hot topic among players. Many consider it the best tool for farming this important item, as the amount of bonuses it provides increases with level. However, aside from this single purpose, it serves no other purpose.

These are the pet options currently available in Torchlight Infinite SS9 that are worth trying as your exploration allies. In reality, they're the same wearable gear you'd place in your build, and you'll need to replace or remove them accordingly to facilitate easier exploration. So remember, don't set your options in stone. Happy gaming!
