While every mechanic or seasonal content in New World Aeternum will eventually be fully explored, you can always craft new builds by combining countless skills, gear, and perks, boosting your combat power while also having extra fun.

New World Aeternum Season 9 Crescent Wave PvE Build: How To Craft It?

Reliable Weapons

First and foremost, Crescent’s Wave is undoubtedly essential. As a greatsword artifact, the key to its effectiveness throughout the build lies in one of its effects, Crescent Wave.

This effect launches a projectile forward from your heavy attack when your health is above 50%, dealing 150% weapon damage to enemies. This effect also reduces your melee heavy attack damage by 50%, and each wave consumes 20 mana.

Additionally, it’s recommended to add an Opal to this weapon. This will grant Crescent’s Wave an additional 12% damage when your health bar is below full.

For your offhand weapon, we recommend adding the hatchet, one of the most powerful damage-focused weapons in New World Aeternum PvE. It’s also highly forgiving and easy to play, making it a great way to level up quickly in PvE.

Best Perks

Perks in New World are special effects that can be attached to gear, granting additional benefits, such as Enchanted Ward for reduced damage, Refreshing for reduced skill cooldowns, and Health for increased vitality.

Equipping an Artifact grants you exclusive perks. Whether you’re looking to boost your build’s damage, survivability, or utility, perks are essential.

For Crescent Wave PvE build, Vicious perk is the first choice. It increases your critical damage by 7.3% and is compatible with a wide range of gear types.

Another powerful perk is Keen Berserk, which has different effects depending on the weapon you equip:

Hatchet: Gain +21% critical chance and +21% critical damage while in Berserk.
Other Weapons: Gain +13% critical chance and +13% critical damage while in Berserk.

This perk obviously synergies perfectly with your off-hand weapon, the hatchet, allowing you to deal even more damage while in Berserk.

However, it’s recommended to use the hatchet only after you’ve depleted mana in greatsword Crescent’s Wave to maximize Keen Berserk’s effectiveness.

Weapon Perks

In addition to the perks mentioned above, you should also add several other weapon perks. These perks can provide bonuses like direct damage boosts, critical hits, and specific skill effects. The choice depends on your weapon and combat style.

The following weapon perks are worth acquiring for this build:

Skyward Slash: Deals 50% weapon damage and grants two stacks of 5% Rend for 10 seconds.
Relentless Freedom: When equipped with a Greatsword, removes roots and slows, and increases the critical strike chance of Relentless Rush by 20%.

How To Choose Heartrunes?

Heartrunes, also known as Heartgem runes in the game, are a system of ultimate abilities that grant you additional powerful effects in combat. Heartrunes come in three tiers: minor, major, and legendary. You can upgrade lower-tier runes at the stonecutting table.

Runes typically drop when farming New World coins in Expeditions, or you can craft them yourself. To activate a rune, equip it in your inventory, charge it by dealing damage, and then activate it by pressing the designated hotkey.

For this build, we recommend starting with Cut Pristine Moonstone. Applying this to any gem-socketed gear grants one of the following effects:

Exhilarate IV: +20% damage while all your active weapon abilities are on cooldown.
Slash Ward IV: +4.8% slash damage absorption.

Another great rune, or gem (whatever you want to call it), is Major Heartrune of Detonate. It charges you for 3 seconds, then explodes, dealing 100% Heartrunes damage to targets within a 5-meter radius.

Also, if you have the stamina to spare, I recommend equipping Brutal Heartrune of Fire Storm. It unleashes a tornado of fire that deals 100% Heartrunes damage and burns all targets it hits.

In addition, this burning effect deals an additional 30% Heartrunes damage per second for 6 seconds, and grants 10% buff to allies within range.

Best Armor Choices

For any build, simply having a lethal weapon isn’t enough. Unless it’s truly powerful enough to deliver a one-hit kill on a boss, you need reliable armor to survive.

For this reason, we recommend starting with light armor for this build, which provides increased speed, mobility, and attack damage, as well as a 15% damage bonus - Attuned Leather Pants are a good option.

Next, you’ll want to pair it with medium gloves and light chest armor. Overall, Crescent Wave PvE build requires you to keep your gear as light as possible to attack and dodge more quickly.

Bring Plenty Of Potions

Although potions in the game are consumable items that only provide short-term benefits, they can be a game-changer in a crucial moment.

Given the nature of the build, we recommend carrying as many mana potions and shield-infusing potions as possible - they increase armor by 50% for the next three attacks. Health potions are also essential.

A 4-piece set, however, is somewhat impractical. In PvP, it's difficult to maintain a weapon swap for 10 seconds, and in PvE, healers often need to switch weapons frequently to provide support. Therefore, few people would likely utilize the benefits of a 4-piece set.

2. Elementally Charged Set

Set Effects:
- 2 Equipped: Reduces magic weapon skill damage by 7%, but adds the elemental damage of that weapon to your next non-magical attack.
- 4 Equipped: Stores up to 2 Elemental Charges, granting 10% resistance to the corresponding element at full charge.
The mechanics of the 2-piece Elementally Charged Set are somewhat confusing; its core mechanic is to encourage a magic weapon in the off-hand and a physical weapon in the main-hand. For example, after applying Orb of Decay debuff with Void Gauntlet, you can switch to a bow for burst damage. However, a pure magic damage build will suffer a 7% damage penalty.

The practicality of a 4-piece set is also limited. Taking up 4 slots just for 10% elemental resistance might not be worth it unless you have a very specific build requirement. Generally speaking, Elementally Charged Set is suitable for a mixed build.

3. Stifling Set

Set Effects:
- 2 Equipped: When all abilities on your current weapon are on cooldown, your attacks silence the target for 2s and yourself for 1s.
- 4 Equipped: While silenced, your basic attack damage is increased and your ability cooldowns are reduced.
The 2-piece Stifling Set is extremely powerful in PvP, and It could even revolutionize the PvP landscape. If you use Leaping Strike, Shield Rush, and Unstoppable Slash with your sword and shield, all 3 abilities will be on cooldown the moment you cast the last ability, instantly silencing the opponent for 2 seconds. During these 2 seconds, the opponent cannot use any escape or counter skills, leaving them vulnerable. Therefore, almost all PvP players will consider this set.

The 4-piece set's benefits are simply icing on the cake; since the 2-piece set is already powerful enough, the 4-piece set isn't essential. Stifling Set is a purely PvP set, significantly enhancing weapons that rely on skill combos, such as swords and shields, flails, and bows.

4. Enraged Set

Set Effects:
- 1 Equipped: When attacking a target within 13 meters, you gain an Enraged state, increasing your damage by 1% and your damage to the attacker by 0.5% per stack. Maximum 10 stacks.
- 3 Equipped: Maximum Enraged stacks increased to 15. Heavy attacks inflict an additional Enraged stack. While Enraged and above 70% health, you lose 5% of your maximum health per second.
- 5 Equipped: Increases the maximum number of Enraged stacks to 25, and increases the duration of Fury by 50%. While Enraged and below 70% health, all attacks deal an additional 8% damage.
Enraged Set provides a 10% damage increase in exchange for 5% vulnerability, which is very cost-effective in PvE because tanks can hold aggro and DPS can deliver without pressure. This means DPS can gain a significant damage boost without pressure. However, in PvP, willingly sacrificing significant health and taking increased damage for a meager damage increase is suicidal.

5. Second Wind Set

Set Effects:
- 2 Equipped: While Exhausted, deals 20% additional base damage to enemies within 5 meters. Attacking enemies within 5 meters removes the slow effect caused by dodging.
- 4 Equipped: While Exhausted, attacks within 5 meters gain 10% life steal. Upon exiting Depleted state, gain 3% Empower (up to 5 stacks, lasting 3 seconds).
Second Wind Set can turn the depleted stamina debuff into an advantage. It can be particularly effective when paired with heavy equipment, providing a countermeasure for players who prefer aggressive dodging or who easily deplete stamina.

6. Protector's Blessing Set

Set Effects:
- 2 Equipped: When healing an ally above 50% health, gain a Protector's Blessing (2s CD, up to 5 stacks). At full stack, the healer suffers 7% Rend, but healing high-health allies grants them a 15% Armor boost for 5 seconds.
- 4 Equipped: Each stack of Blessing grants an additional 3% base damage. At full stack, healing an ally below half health consumes all stacks, granting them a health regeneration effect that lasts 5 seconds and restores 10% weapon damage per second.
Protector's Blessing Set is clearly designed for healers. This set primarily strengthens the health of allies by weakening itself. With a 4-piece set, it can also provide burst healing in critical moments. A balance needs to be struck between self-survival and team benefit. If combined with other sets, healers can also deal significant damage.

7. Tenacity Set

Set Effects:
- 2 Equipped: After being stunned, gain 2 seconds of Grit. While Grit is active, damage taken is increased by 5%.
- 4 Equipped: Successful light attacks apply 3 seconds of Grit (6s CD). While Grit is active, gain 5% life steal.
Tenacity Set is clearly suited for tanks. It changes the gameplay from typically gaining Grit through heavy attacks, allowing light attacks to also provide tenacity and regeneration, potentially changing the damage rotation. However, it also has a buff that increases damage taken, making it less effective for tanks in both PvP and PvE. It might be suitable for certain Grit-heavy builds.

8. Overcharge Set

Set Effects:
- 3 Equipped: Gain a stack of Overcharge (5s CD) when attacking an enemy within 5 meters or killing an enemy. Each stack increases base damage by 5% and status resistance by 10%, but also applies 4% Rend. A maximum of 3 stacks is achieved (i.e., 15% damage, 30% resistance, and 12% Rend). All stacks are removed upon being struck.
- 5 Equipped: Increases the maximum number of Overcharge stacks to 5, and now provides an additional 5% health regeneration.
Overcharge Set is an extremely interesting mechanic, well-suited for high-mobility or hit-avoiding playstyles, but can be quite volatile in PvP. A full 5-piece set provides 25% increased damage, 50% status resistance, and 20% Rend, offering both high rewards and high risks. It offers a greater advantage in PvP, especially for ranged DPS players like Bows, Musket and Fire Staff.

Judging from the 8 sets currently displayed for New World: Aeternum Season 10 Nighthaven, the effects of one or 2 sets are often the most crucial, and activating all the set effects won't bring about a significant difference. This shows that players are still encouraged to mix and match, and you can also combine with artifacts.

With New World Aeternum Season 10: Nighthaven official launch on October 13th fast approaching, whether you're a longtime player or a new or returning player drawn to Season 10, you're likely preparing for the new season.

While you can't experience the new modes or dungeons just yet, you can at least farm more coins and items to stock up for the new season, or try to improve various builds to quickly improve your combat efficiency once you enter Season 10.

With this in mind, we're introducing Demon Hunter Bow Rapier Bleed Build. This build actually has two versions, both of which performed well in Season 9 and are expected to perform well in the new season as well.

Version 1

This build has a Finish version and an Aconite version. Finish version first gains an additional 15% damage with a Light Loadout, and then adds a Nimble Coat for the highest refresh rate and faster skill casts.

If you're using Finish, add Distained Infliction as the third perk on your jewelry, along with Red Hot Slag for bloodletting, to maximize the damage of your light sword and Endless Thirst.

This also further enhances your tankiness, allowing you to deal damage and trigger Flourish while maintaining greater leeway against your opponent, effectively creating distance and ensuring your survival in combat.

As for the bow component of your build, you should choose poison shot, penetrating shot, and explosive arrow for bow mastery, creating burst/AoE damage patterns to deal sufficient damage to enemies in a short period of time.

How To Perform Combos?

To trigger a combo with Finish version build, you must first trigger Endless Thirst. To do this, you can use a recovery potion or mana potion to gain an 8-second buff.

It's generally recommended to use a recovery potion at the beginning of a fight to maintain full health even during the crucial mid-fight moments.

To achieve this while utilizing this build, you need to deal as much damage as possible with your bow, while also taking advantage of DoT damage from Fire and Poison, ideally with some Light energy thrown in.

By replacing poison shot with explosive shot, you can deal significant damage to your opponent before they even enter melee range. Once they're fully within range, you're practically at an advantage.

Note that when you're within 5 meters of your enemy, for maximum safety, you can try Light Attacks, or if you have the opportunity, Leeching Flurry, which allows you to trigger a double bleed, ending the fight faster and dealing maximum damage.

Of course, you may need to perform some evasive rolls to avoid enemy attacks during this process. However, in terms of damage output, the bow will always put a lot of pressure on the enemy, and Finish will do the rest.

The advantage of Finish is that it provides both Tondo and Flourish. Additionally, you'll need to increase your character's endurance, health, and wiggle room, and finding Leeching Flurry for your gear is fantastic.

Version 2

This version of Demon Hunter Bow Rapier Bleed build is based on Aconite, granting you an additional 15% poison damage and allowing you to deal an additional 5% damage with your heavy attacks.

Therefore, the base damage of Aconite version is slightly higher than that of the first version.

Thus, if you prefer to weaken your opponents and better withstand damage, version 2 is recommended. If you're playing as a healer, you can use Gorgon's Rapier.

While this will negate the 10% weakening effect of Tondo, at least you retain Flourish. This makes this build more evasive and last longer.

When using the bow, you simply follow the same principles as with the first version: deal damage from range, trigger Endless Thirst with a healing potion, and trigger poison with explosive shots.

After this, you need to move 5 meters away from the enemy to trigger Tondo, and you're no longer locked into the dodge animation, as you can cancel it, but be sure to successfully dodge and trigger the bleed. If you dodge too quickly, the sword attack won't trigger.

If you don't want to do this, or your opponent is vulnerable, you can simply drain the enemy once, then dodge into another area, and then finish them off with a Flourish.

Season 10 is expected to feature primarily vampire and demon enemy types. You'll also be able to complete new main quests to advance the story, experience Catacombs mode, the new Isle of Night raid, and other seasonal changes.

New World Aeternum Season 10 Catacombs PvE Best Builds | Top 3 Meta Tank, Healer & DPS Setups

As we all know, New World Aeternum Season 10 Nighthaven introduces a brand new 3v3 gameplay mode: Catacombs PvE. As you can imagine, competition for these three slots will be fierce.

A strong PvE build is crucial for completing the numerous missions in Catacombs Mode and successfully handling open-world encounters and powerful boss creatures. So, here we'd like to introduce what we believe to be the three best practical PvE builds currently available, which are likely to be the best choices for participating in Catacombs early in the game. Without further ado, let's get started.

1. Sword And Shield Flail Tank Build

The first on this list is a tank build centered around Sword and Shield Flail. This Sword and Shield Flail allows you to draw your sword and empower your allies. You can then use Flail as a secondary weapon, equipped with a Power Stone-like weapon, which provides additional damage reduction when you strike a boss.

In New World, completing a Sword and Shield Flail build requires a selection of skills, such as Bludgeon for taunting and fortifying, Vortex for team buffing, and Eruption for damage boosting.

For stats, it's recommended to prioritize Strength for damage and Focus for healing and buffing. This is the primary stat combination for most Flail builds, as Flail scales at 90% Strength and 65% Focus.

Sword and Shield provides area-of-effect taunting and defense, complementing Flail's support and healing abilities. Using a Power Stone or Mending Vortex can also add 20% damage reduction or sustained effects to your build.

It's worth mentioning that if you don't want to use a Power Stone, Crescent's Wave is also a good option. Crescent's Wave has a unique ability for tanks, where the wave it launches actually counts as an additional critical hit.

If you launch a wave of attacks and hit any monster in the area, the critical hit can trigger a taunt, pulling the monster towards you. So, it's super useful when you're dealing with large groups of enemies.

But from a single-target perspective, I think Power Stone is still better, as it's crucial for your team's survival. Overall, this build is very solid and very survivable.

2. Void Gauntlet Healer Build

Next, the second PvE build I want to introduce is a healer-oriented one. Life Staff is basically the default choice for healer builds, and everyone expects it.

From a PvE perspective, the basic approach to using Life Staff is to choose AOE skills, so Void Gauntlet will be your primary source of damage.

New World Void Gauntlet healer focuses on Life Staff's healing, using Void Gauntlet's attacks and utility skills: Void Blade for damage, Oblivion for empowering effects, and Scream or Rupture for disabling or healing allies.

The key to this build lies in healing abilities like Sacred Ground, allowing you to switch to Void Gauntlet at any time to activate Void Blade, use Oblivion to damage and debuff enemies, and then use Life Staff to sustain the team.

Void Gauntlet healer is ideal for Catacombs PvE gameplay of Nighthaven Season because it perfectly combines powerful healing with significant area-of-effect damage and utility.

In addition to Oblivion's ability providing a significant damage bonus to allies and debuffing enemies, abilities like Essence Rupture and Petrifying Scream provide lifesteal, fortification, and enemy debuffs, ensuring strong support and survivability in treacherous PvE environments.

Furthermore, Void Gauntlet's damage scales with Intelligence and Focus, making it a unique pairing with Life Staff, providing both powerful support and strong personal damage output - essential for high-end PvE content.

3. Evade Rapier/Blood Rapier DPS Build

Finally, we'd like to mention the best single-target DPS build in New World, which is also a dual build: Evade Rapier/Blood Rapier build. These two weapons are often used together to fill in any DPS gaps.

Evade Rapier/Blood Rapier build is very effective in PvE because of its high single-target DPS, which is crucial for boss fights and encounters that require sustained damage.

Evade Rapier, when paired with Flurry and Evade, provides strong survivability and continuous self-healing and damage, while Blood Rapier, when paired with abilities like Flourish and Finish, provides increased damage by boosting bleed and burst.

Which build you choose depends on your team's needs and your New World coins budget. Evade Rapier is better for self-sufficiency, while Blood Rapier excels when other players use buffs like Rend and Empower.

As for cost, while both builds can utilize different types of Rapiers, certain Artifact Rapiers are crucial to their respective playstyles. Finisher Artifact is particularly popular in Evade Rapier builds. To achieve the highest levels of evasion, players may need a more specialized Artifact Rapier, resulting in a higher cost compared to a Blood Rapier build.

In summary, Evade Rapier emphasizes frequent use of Evade and Flurry for defensive and self-healing abilities, making it a safer choice for solo players or those who require more defensive power. Blood Rapier, on the other hand, prioritizes using skills for increased bleed and burst damage.

Thus, Evade Rapier is generally a safer, more self-sufficient DPS choice, while Blood Rapier is better suited for DPS players who focus on damage and rely on team support.

However, in a 3v3 match, it's recommended that each team only use one Blood Rapier build, as multiple builds attempting to bleed the same target will reduce the overall damage effectiveness.

From New World Nighthaven Catacombs PvE perspective, these are my three recommended builds for the best gameplay. You can choose your own based on your playstyle and playstyle.

Classic Outpost Rush

Furthermore, some players have reported that matches tend to favor one side, with more heavily armored PvP players assuming a winning position. Battles can sometimes become stalemated, but if one side is slightly weaker or less organized, the battle can become one-sided. However, for the sake of New World coins and rewards, the weaker side is forced to persevere in this difficult situation.

Coral Divide

As the second map, Coral Divide features a vertical structure, which addresses many of the shortcomings of the first map. Its more compact layout means less time wasted on movement.

Furthermore, Coral Divide offers fewer routes and better vision control, preventing ranged characters from completely suppressing melee characters and allowing melee to play a greater role.

Compared to the classic map, Coral Divide requires more acclimation, and players may be outmatched if they lack proficiency in routing. Furthermore, the more complex paths can cause some new players to get lost.

Tower Of Calomel

Both maps have their pros and cons, but this new map offers a completely different feel. First, Tower of Calomel's color scheme is very dark, and the fog can make certain elements difficult to see. It also appears to have optimization issues, resulting in more lag than the original map.
