New World Aeternum Season 10 Experience New Stories, Raids, And Endgame Reworks In Nighthaven

Although it was previously confirmed that New World Aeternum Season 10 would launch on October 13th, no further official announcements were released. However, the good news is that just yesterday, more details about Season 10 finally surfaced!
It's expected that most of Season 10 main quests and related stories will be based in the new Nighthaven zone, where you can experience the new main story, game modes, and 10-player raids, as well as numerous endgame details.
Next, we'll explain each one below.
What Is Nighthaven Like?
While understanding the story behind the zone may not provide more additional benefits for leveling your character, it can provide a deeper understanding of the game's lore.
A secluded land steeped in history, Nighthaven is covered in mysterious forests, nestled among towering castles. In the past, it was ruled by powerful kings and home to many powerful and mysterious individuals active in both exploration and politics.
The mysterious individuals who inhabit Nighthaven rule and oversee the continent by the king's orders, and they will execute any outsiders who infringe upon them without hesitation. Furthermore, various monsters lurk within Nighthaven's forests.
With the start of Season 10, you'll set foot in this land for the first time, embarking on a brand-new adventure to eliminate the dangers and threats it harbors.
New Story Chapter Tear Of Gaea
In the story chapters updated in previous seasons, Morgaine left after the events of Elysian Wilds with the treasure, Tear of Gaea, intending to hide it. Unfortunately, an unexpected incident during her journey caused her to lose the treasure.
Using this as a trigger, you'll travel to Nighthaven and confront the enemies that guard it, hoping to help Morgaine recover Tear of Gaea.
As before, you'll unlock various main and side quests as you complete the main objectives. These quests will serve as the primary source for leveling up your character and farming New World Aeternum coins in the early stages of the game.
Catacombs Mode Offers New Gameplay
This mode requires you and up to two teammates to enter a dungeon, defeat its enemies and bosses, collect mode-specific items, resources, and currency, and escape the dungeon and purify the treasure before the end of the round.
Catacombs starts out easy, but as you defeat more bosses, the battles become significantly more difficult - and the rewards also increase. With each boss defeat, you must decide whether to continue deeper or escape early as a precaution.
To survive, in addition to ensuring your character's initial abilities are strong enough, you must also acquire power-ups within the dungeon to enhance their attributes and abilities.
If you and your teammates all die in the dungeon before the timer runs out, you'll lose most of your previous rewards. However, a welcome bonus in Catacombs is that as long as at least one member of your party escapes safely, you won't lose any loot.
10-Player Raid Isle Of Night
This raid is one part of the endgame, making it quite challenging. You and your teammates will travel to a once-glorious kingdom, solving puzzles in specialized encounters, defeating bosses, and various new enemies to earn rewards.
What Changes Will The Endgame Bring?
As the core content of New World Aeternum, the endgame will receive a comprehensive overhaul in Season 10, including systems, progression, equipment, and rewards, to strengthen the connection between the various endgame content.
Enhance Gear With Perk Charms
Before Season 10, enhancing gear was only possible by adding perks and inserting gems. However, this new season introduces charms - think of them as perk modifiers.
Charms can be divided into three categories: defensive, offensive, and skill. You can earn charms through refining or by completing endgame content to obtain special materials for crafting.
New Set Bonuses
For the first time, New World Aeternum has introduced set bonuses. You can earn them by completing new raid and mode, or by unlocking PvP tracks. You can then freely combine and use these bonuses.
Umbral Shards Return
Umbral Shards were originally a special currency in New World that increased gear score, but were removed from the game in 2023. They will be brought back after addressing the issue of their becoming redundant over time.
Therefore, in Season 10, you can only own a maximum of 1,000 Umbral Shards, and there's a weekly farming limit. Once your gear score reaches 700, you can use Umbral Shards to level up.
Note that in Season 10, due to the increased level cap, the gear score cap will increase from 725 to 800 in PvE mode, and from 700 to 775 in PvP mode.
Perks No Longer Provide Attribute Bonuses
Because of their lack of effectiveness, perks that increase attributes will be withdrawn starting in Season 10, with the intention of introducing new, more valuable perk types later.
To ensure a fully balanced combat experience, the stat bonuses previously provided by these perks will be applied as standard upgrades, eliminating the need to worry about stat drops affecting combat outcomes.
With this in mind, the entire perk system will undergo a complete overhaul with further structural adjustments, allowing you to select and equip perks with more valuable options, rather than meaningless perks that simply boost combat stats.
You'll likely see more detailed changes in the actual game once Season 10 launches. We wish you the best of luck on your journey to Nighthaven!
