Dune Awakening 4 Armor Types: How To Choose According To Their Characteristics?
Posted: Jul 19, 2025 Views: 17
Although Dune Awakening is different from ordinary ARPGs, combat is still one of the most important elements of the game. Whether you want to explore the desert, seek the secrets and stories behind it, or want to accumulate resources, you will constantly encounter combat.
Therefore, the game has a complete combat system, such as 5 classes and their skills, weapons that can help you fight or Dune Awakening items that provide buffs, and armor that can protect your life.
There are currently 4 main types of armor in the game, suitable for different roles and combat occasions. So how to choose to maximize their role? We will introduce them to you.
Light Armor & Heavy Armor
These two types of armor are always discussed together because they are more suitable for combat than other armors and belong to Combat Garment category. However, there are subtle differences between them in specific combat functions.
Light Armor
Light armor is a more traditional combat armor. It can provide reliable defense without any restrictions on your actions. It is the first choice for most conventional battles.
In addition to its moderate defensive benefits, light armor also provides a small amount of heat protection and has a special dash stamina reduction property, making it more suitable for melee characters.
One additional thing to mention is dash stamina reduction. In Dune: Awakening, dash is mainly used in melee combat, helping you to dodge enemy blows or get in close to attack distant enemies.
If you often engage in melee combat with shielded enemies, it is particularly important to stay agile and control your opponent’s movements with high dash stamina reduction. Light armor can do this.
Each specific light armor gear piece has a different fixed value for dash stamina reduction. If you wear a full set of light armor, you can expect your total dash stamina reduction to be around 30%, which can bring a lot of help to your melee combat.
Here are the sprint stamina reductions for different light armor parts:
- Body: -9.0%
- Headgear and Pants: -6.0%
- Gloves and Boots: -4.5%
Heavy Armor
Heavy armor has the strongest ranged defense in the game, protecting against almost all forms of damage, but is not as good as light armor in protecting against melee damage and environmental effects - they are each irreplaceable.
The main advantage of heavy armor is that its defense is more concentrated and solid, and it increases your resistance to ranged damage types, allowing you to survive better.
It is worth mentioning that the main ranged damage types in the game include Light Dart, Heavy Dart, and Concussive, but Concussive is relatively rare and few enemies can do it.
A full set of heavy armor can provide you with 20% additional damage mitigation, and the specific amount of mitigation depends on different parts, not your heavy armor level. The additional damage mitigation values of different heavy armor parts are:
- Body: +6%
- Helmets and Pants: +4%
- Gloves and Boots: +3%
It should be noted that heavy armor will receive additional blade damage in close combat, up to 40%. In order to avoid being affected too much, it is best to bring a Drillshot FK7 or a Disruptor when wearing heavy armor to attack the enemy in advance at a long range.
Stillsuit & Armored Stillsuit
Strictly speaking, Stillsuit is not a traditional armor, but a kind of garment-like tool, but in the world of Dune Awakening, it does provide special protection.
The Role Of Stillsuit
As you know, Arrakis in Dune Awakening is mainly composed of deserts, so it is very important to keep your body hydrated at all times. Stillsuit can recycle the lost water for you and enhance your ability to resist the desert heat and sun erosion.
What Is Armored Stillsuit?
As the fourth armor type in the game, armored Stillsuit is actually a combination of armor and Stillsuit, which means that you can continue to wear light armor or heavy armor after wearing Stillsuit to better protect yourself in a mixed form.
What Is Stillsuit Catchpocket?
This is an item slot unique to Stillsuit, usually equipped on body piece. The function of Stillsuit Catchpocket is to store excess water and recycle the body’s natural fluids into a renewable source of water.
A Stillsuit can store about 500 units of water, which you can drink directly to quickly replenish water, or store in a water tank for backup. It should be noted that this part of water is stored separately from Literjon.
How To Choose Among These 4 Types Of Armor?
If you only fight in PVP mode or special PVE copies, then Stillsuit is not necessary. You can choose the appropriate one in light armor or heavy armor according to your class or the type of enemy.
A simple Stillsuit is only suitable for you to use when you go out to farm resources in the desert. If you travel to a more dangerous desert area, such as one with many sandworms, then the armored Stillsuit will be more secure.
The above is an introduction to all the armors in the game, and the recommended armor selection options. It should be noted that most armors or Stillsuits need to be crafted by yourself, so now your main task is still to farm resources!
