Dune Awakening Perforator Scattergun Guide: How To Find And Use This Powerful Weapon In The Deep Desert?

Posted: Jul 18, 2025 Views: 994

It’s been over a month since Dune Awakening was officially released, and PvP landscape in the game has changed dramatically.

From the beginning, melee builds dominated, to ranged builds, and now the vast majority of builds are hybrids. Everyone is looking for the build that can dominate the open world of Arrakis, but to be honest, such a build has not yet appeared.

But who can say that this situation is bad? After all, we don’t always need to be limited to one overly powerful build that everyone blindly follows. Instead, we are full of creativity and different people use different strategies to complete unique builds.

That being said, one of the problems in the early days was that our ranged equipment selection was very limited, especially for hybrid builds, most ranged weapons were not very suitable. However, this situation is starting to change.

Here, I want to show you a very easy-to-use Perforator Scattergun. What makes it so powerful is not only the massive amount of stun and bleed damage it can deal, but also its powerful combos.

Perforator Pros And Cons

Like I said before, melee gear is still the strongest part of Dune Awakening right now. Although everyone is using Sword, Rapier, and Dagger now, even so, a good secondary weapon is still essential, and ideally, this is best to be a ranged weapon.

Personally, I used to use Disruptor as a secondary weapon for a long time and put Drillshot in the third weapon slot. But recently Perforator Scattergun replaced them. I will tell you exactly why.

First of all, Scattergun uses Light Darts as ammunition, which is very important because Light Darts are easier to make and can be made faster. Trust me, you will need a lot of Light Darts because this Scattergun uses up ammunition very quickly. Once you get it and shoot it a few times, you will see what I mean.

Now, let’s take a look at its damage. It can deal 540 damage per shot, which is amazing! It fires at 89 rounds per minute, which is pretty fast for a Scattergun that hits this hard.

Next up, the critical hit. It fires 12 rounds per shot, which means every time you pull the trigger, 12 rounds are fired at your enemy, hence Scattergun’s name.

If you’re close enough and the bullets are heated, you can deal around 540 full damage in a single shot.

If your enemy doesn’t have a shield and they’re wearing light armor, you can kill them in just two shots. If they’re heavily armored, it might only take three or four shots, but even that’s pretty fast, especially if you’re staggering your shots.

But it comes at a cost.

Each magazine holds a maximum of 48 rounds, and since each trigger pool has 12 rounds, you can only fire four times before you have to reload, so you have to time every shot.

However, it has a solid reload time of 2.4 seconds, which is actually faster than Drillshot at 2.5 seconds.

While it’s a lot faster, there are still some obvious problems. Now, it only has an effective range of eight meters, which is a big drawback. Such a short range means you need to be right in front of your enemies to unleash its full power, which is a huge threat to your survivability.

But the cool thing is that the stagger mechanic of this gun forces them to either use up their stamina, sprint away, or stay in the stagger state and take your next shot.

In addition, Perforator has an accuracy of about 1.10 and a stability of 2.2, which, while not perfect, is more than enough to deal with ordinary enemies.

To be honest, it’s not the absolute strongest weapon in Dune Awakening, but it’s really good. This Scattergun can easily melt shields and put your enemies into a panic, so it’s definitely worth trying!

How To Find It?

Now, let’s take a look at where to find this weapon.

First, you need an Ornithopter with a Scan Module installed and a Compactor. The level of Compactor doesn’t matter, but what matters is whether you use a Handheld Scanner or an Ornithopter Scanner.

To be honest, it’s better to use Ornithopter Scanner because it makes everything faster, smoother, and less risky, especially when we are going to The Deep Desert to find hidden treasures, which will help you save a lot of time.

So, when you have all your equipment and everything is ready, let’s go and head to The Deep Desert.

We need to find a resource called Opafire Gems. However, they are not ordinary resources, you will not easily find them on the ground. You have to deliberately look for treasure.

Once we enter The Deep Desert, activate Scan Module on Ornithopter and start scanning the desert. Please note that you should always pay attention to the indicators that pop up at this time, because they will notify you when you pass by buried treasure.

When you see the treasure, park your car near it. Grab your Compactor and fire around the scene. You’ll see the sand move, and then boom, treasure pops out of the ground.

Inside you’ll find Opafire Gems and other valuable components.

Typically, you’ll find 9 to 11 Opafire Gems per treasure chest. But either way, once you’ve collected enough treasure, head back to Hagga Basin.

If you belong to House Atreides, then you need to go to Helius Gate and talk to the quartermaster. But if you belong to House Harkonnen, then travel to Riftwatch on the east side of the map and talk to the quartermaster there.

Hand over the gems to them, and you’ll be told that the gift has been accepted by House Maros. Next, you need to find House Maros Representative, who rotates positions every week.

Once you find him and hand over the items, you’ll get Perforator.

Build Tips

So now, what perk should we pair it with?

There’s actually a great perk in Trooper skill tree that increases the damage of Perforator Scattergun. If you’re willing to spend a little Dune Awakening Solari to upgrade it to the highest level, it’ll give you a 15% damage bonus, which is pretty strong.

Next, we just need to focus on the ranged damage passive skills, and don’t worry too much about the skills. Some people will use Center of Mass, but I personally don’t think it’s worth taking up your active skill slot. So you might as well stack some passive skills to increase your ranged damage without taking up skill points or slots.

It is recommended that you use it with Rapier to stun enemies with Scattergun and sprint with heat energy. Then either continue to blast or use melee to end the battle quickly.

To be honest, this Perforator Scattergun is still very suitable for novice players. With its extremely easy-to-use gameplay and excellent combo damage, it will definitely help you survive better in the early stages. So if you are looking for the best ranged weapon for your build, you might as well consider it!
