It feels like the blink of an eye since Diablo 4 Season 14 launched; given the game's update cycle, it is time to look ahead to the new season! With that in mind, 3.2.0 PTR has finally been officially announced.
Diablo 4 3.2.0 PTR aims to test the reliability of upcoming Season 15 content and identify areas that may require adjustment. If you want to get a head start on preparations, take a look at our detailed preview of 3.2.0 PTR.

Diablo 4 3.2.0 PTR duration
This PTR will launch on August 4 at 10:00 AM PDT and run for one week, concluding on August 11. During this period, you can choose to focus entirely on PTR, or continue diving into Season 14 while setting aside some time to test the new features coming in the next season.
As for the final release date of Diablo 4 Season 15, it is expected to land sometime during the last week of August or the first week of September.
Please note that PTR content does not represent the final state of Season 15; further adjustments will be made based on player feedback during the testing phase.
Special item: Soul Splinters
Diablo 4 will introduce a new item type called Soul Splinters in 3.2.0 PTR; these are tentatively expected to be seasonal items.
These items can be socketed into jewelry. Depending on the type, they provide resistance to Physical, All-Attribute, or Elemental damage, along with other unique bonus effects.
Each type of Soul Splinter comes in five rarities: Common, Magic, Rare, Legendary, and Unique, with higher rarities offering superior bonuses. While splinters of any rarity can drop during combat, you can also upgrade lower-tier splinters using Horadric Cube.
Regarding how to obtain Soul Splinters, they are likely acquired by farming new Season 15 combat activities, such as Challenge Dungeons or Overland Ambush we will detail shortly.
What are Challenge Dungeons?
Diablo 4 Season 15 will define new Overland zones across Sanctuary. While exploring Overland, special portals will spawn randomly, transporting you to the newly added Challenge Dungeons.
This dungeon features three difficulty levels, meaning you can adjust the internal difficulty to earn greater rewards without changing your global Torment tier.
The entry-level Challenge Dungeons are expected to match your currently selected Torment difficulty, with difficulty scaling up from there; the most dangerous Challenge Dungeons will be three tiers higher than your current Torment level.
Each Challenge Dungeon you trigger will feature formidable bosses; you must defeat them to fully clear the dungeon, exit, and continue your overall progression.
It is worth noting that Challenge Dungeon experience in Diablo 4 3.2.0 PTR is designed to test underlying systems; the final experience arriving in Season 15 promises to be more exciting and varied.
Overland Ambush
Aside from Challenge Dungeons, this is another potential new danger in Diablo 4 that can trigger randomly while you explore the open world.
Before an Ambush begins, a pop-up window will notify you that a powerful enemy squad has targeted you, giving you 30 seconds to decide whether to fight or flee.
To fully experience the new mechanics and earn more loot, we don't recommend always avoiding ambushes. However, if you're worried about handling the challenge, you can buy Diablo 4 items on IGGM in advance!
Further changes to Mythic crafting mechanics
A signature feature of Diablo 4 Season 14, Mythic crafting has undergone several revisions since its debut in 3.1.0 PTR. The game plans to retain this feature for Season 15 with additional optimizations.
In 3.2.0 PTR, Horadric Cube gains the ability to craft specific Unique items directly into their Mythic versions, eliminating randomness, though requiring more crafting materials. The previous option to craft random Mythic items remains available.
Regarding Mythic crafting at The Jeweler: while previously limited to craft specific gear using set recipes, Season 15 will allow you to select a specific gear slot and craft a random new item for it.
Mythics created via direct upgrades in Horadric Cube will bear a special tag, and you can equip only one such item at a time. There are no limits on the number of random Mythic items you can craft via Horadric Cube or The Jeweler.
Based on these changes, the 12 Iconic Mythics you know well will receive brand-new, unique versions, something never before seen in Diablo 4.
In other words, Iconic Mythic items will no longer hold an exclusive, singular status; you will be able to obtain them more easily through crafting.
All-new Legacy Uniques
Building upon Diablo 4's existing unique items, Season 15 3.2.0 PTR introduces nine new Legacy Uniques. Inspired by Diablo 1, 2, and 3, four of these are universal (usable by any class), while five are restricted to specific classes.
Please note that these Legacy Uniques will only appear in the game after the official launch of Diablo 4 Season 15; they cannot be unlocked or used during 3.2.0 PTR. We are mentioning them here simply as a sneak peek.
Additionally, the combat effects of these Legacy Uniques will not be identical to their counterparts in previous Diablo titles; they have been modified to suit Diablo 4's gameplay mechanics.
All-new charms
Previously, Diablo 4 charms were categorized into Set, Unique, and Legendary rarities. However, during 3.2.0 PTR, not only can you acquire 16 new Unique Charms, but every Unique Charm also has a corresponding Mythic version.
Rebirth feature
If you play in Eternal Realm alongside Seasonal Realm, you likely have well-developed Eternal characters, though their assets do not carry over to Seasonal Realm.
To strengthen the connection between these two realms, Diablo 4 Season 15 introduces Rebirth feature, allowing you to transfer an Eternal character directly into Seasonal Realm.
Upon conversion, the character's level resets to one, though you retain your class, name, and various cosmetic items that do not affect gameplay progression.
You must transfer Eternal character's original gold and gear to your Eternal stash beforehand; otherwise, you risk losing items, and Rebirth function will not work correctly.
That covers the new content planned for Diablo 4 Season 15, which you can preview in 3.2.0 PTR. This update is more substantial and looks more exciting than Season 14, let's wait and see how it actually plays out!
