ARC Raiders Future Expedition Plans Revealed | Lower Requirements, Permanent Rewards and More

Category: ARC Raiders Posted: Feb 23, 2026 Views: 596

If daily raids are a must for veteran ARC Raiders players, then expeditions are the way to test the quality of all your raid completions over the past month, and also help you enter the next phase with a reset.

Therefore, while expeditions aren't mandatory for all players, they remain an important part of the game. So, after the first expedition, the development team introduced some changes to improve the gameplay.

However, the developers seem unsatisfied with the existing changes, and with the second expedition development window about to open, they've reiterated their plans for future changes to the expedition system through interviews and other means.

While it's uncertain whether these plans will be implemented immediately in the second or third expedition, it's best to understand these changes beforehand if you want to continue experiencing all expeditions. We'll introduce them to you below.

ARC Raiders Future Expedition Plans Revealed | Lower Requirements, Permanent Rewards and More

Second expedition overview

Preparation for this round of expeditions began earlier this month, with the development window running from February 25th to March 1st. During this period, you can register for the expedition, after which a new adventure will begin with a reset.

Compared to the first expedition, the requirements for this one have been slightly lowered. Specifically, the required warehouse value for the highest expedition reward has been reduced from 5 million coins to 3 million.

Regarding rewards, if you participate in two expeditions consecutively, some rewards will stack; if this is your first time participating, some rewards will be reset, but you will receive additional first-expedition exclusive rewards.

Overall, if you're not a casual player who levels up very slowly, we always recommend participating in expeditions, as the permanent rewards and the new raid experience are worth the investment.

Should the difficulty be further reduced?

The difficulty of expeditions lies in resource gathering during the preparation phase. Even with the required total value of items reduced by nearly half, it remains a challenging requirement for most players.

This is likely the main reason preventing you from participating in expeditions, as everything afterward is meaningless if you don't meet the requirements. However, if expeditions are too easy, the subsequent account resets will become pointless.

Therefore, for developers, the current priority is to reasonably reduce the preparation difficulty of expeditions, allowing more players to participate and unlock their own raid cycles, instead of being stuck in a slow, basic leveling phase.

For the sake of stable game development, even if changes are needed to the core mechanics of the expedition system, they should be made gradually through small, parallel modifications to build the final result.

Because drastically changing the difficulty or core mechanics of a system without testing, and then having to revert to the original state or leave it in its current poor condition if it fails, will only lead to greater player dissatisfaction.

Releasing more rewards to encourage players

Besides reducing difficulty, ensuring that the rewards are sufficiently attractive is also an important strategy to attract more players to the expedition gameplay.

As a persistent mechanism, the biggest difference between expedition rewards and regular loot is their permanence. For example, the second expedition rewards include three permanent cosmetics and more permanent stash spaces, and skill point buffs.

The biggest advantage of permanent rewards is their lasting benefits, helping you build your new character leveling journey faster and more systematically after everything resets, significantly improving your game efficiency and experience.

While mandatory participation is possible, that defeats the purpose of the system and would prevent some casual players from ever experiencing a complete character, forcing them to struggle through constant resets.

Therefore, the development team plans to add more similar rewards in the future, encouraging more new players to participate in expeditions while ensuring that players who consistently participate in the gameplay have a core experience superior to most.

It's worth noting that in a recent interview, the developers stated that skill points earned through expeditions may not be permanently retained in the future, as maxing out the entire skill tree was not the original design goal.

Therefore, it is expected that some aspects of the skill tree may be further adjusted at some point in the future, but to maintain the rarity of rewards, other permanent rewards may be introduced to compensate.

Should blueprints be retained?

As you know, expedition resets are comprehensive and thorough, essentially creating a "new" account. Even your painstakingly collected ARC Raiders blueprints will be wiped clean.

Compared to most game items, blueprints are notoriously difficult to collect, yet you must possess them to craft specific items. Therefore, some players have hoped that expedition resets would retain blueprints, or at least some.

While retaining blueprints isn't entirely impossible, the development team seems more inclined to introduce alternatives, such as altering the acquisition or learning methods of blueprints, rather than making you feel that blueprints are inextricably linked to the expedition system.

It must be said that from a long-term perspective, this approach is indeed much better than simply retaining blueprints, as directly retaining blueprints after an expedition could lead to a decrease in the value of related items, thereby disrupting the balance of the entire game's item system.

What future changes the expedition system will make to blueprints are currently unknown, but it's certain that if not handled properly, it could negatively impact game development and experience.

This week's game schedule

While you might have planned to play ARC Raiders every day anyway, this week will definitely be busy.

First, the new weekly trials have been released. Second, tomorrow, February 24th, February Shrouded Sky update will be released, followed by the second expedition window opening on the 25th.

Considering the reset mechanism, we recommend that you don't rush into farming immediately after Shrouded Sky goes live. Instead, focus on familiarizing yourself with the new Hurricane map condition and other new content.

Once you've mastered the new combat environment and completed your expedition, you can then freely use your permanent rewards and continuity buffs to farm more crafting materials and blueprints, leveling up your character and laying the foundation for the third expedition.

That concludes this overview. We hope it has been helpful in playing ARC Raiders, especially participating in subsequent expedition gameplay. Thank you for reading.
