In WOW The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition, Primals are crucial high-level elemental crafting materials. Currently, there are nine primary elements in the game: Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Shadow, Mana, and Life, as well as some rarer and special variants. These materials require ten corresponding motes to craft and are primarily dropped by elemental monsters in Outland.
Since almost all professions require Primals to craft rare and epic armor, weapons, and set items, powerful enchantments, and consumables, the demand is enormous, especially for items like Primal Fire and Air, which are important sources of gold.
So, how do you obtain these different types of Primals? Next, we'll introduce the secret locations for obtaining Primals and some tips to speed up your farming!

Primal Mana
First, let's look at how to obtain Primal Mana/Mote of Mana: by killing Mana Seekers and Mageslayers. These are elite Arcane-themed mobs, primarily found in Netherstorm. They typically spawn in high density and respawn quickly, making them ideal for AoE farming and the top targets for obtaining Mote of Mana.
Furthermore, the best part about hunting these elemental monsters in Netherstorm is that there's a quest available in the later towers. So, if it's your first time here, you can also pick up the quest while farming Primals and earn some TBC gold.
Another way to obtain Mote of Mana is to go to the western part of the map. Near the edge, you'll encounter Warp Aberration, Phase Hunters, and Nether Rays, each with a chance to drop one or two Motes of Mana. If the eastern area or the first location isn't too competitive, we strongly recommend farming Primals there.
However, there's another way: go to Shadowmoon Valley. But you'll need a flying mount for efficient farming, as many mobs there are inaccessible without it. If you want to improve farming efficiency, you can buy WoW TBC Classic Anniversary gold from IGGM to quickly acquire a flying mount. Surprisingly, you can also get an extra 5% discount with the code WTBC!
Primal Fire
Next, we'll discuss Primal Fire. You can kill these elemental creatures in Blade's Edge Mountains to earn Motes. Once you reach around level 65, you can start farming them efficiently. Especially before you have enough WoW TBC Anniversary gold to unlock a flying mount, this is definitely one of the most efficient farming locations.
However, be careful not to kill Searing Elementals, as they don't drop Mote of Fire, making it a complete waste of time.
If you have a flying mount, you can go to the southwest corner of Blade's Edge Mountains, which is usually more open, but also has fewer mobs to kill.
If you're below level 70, you can also choose to go to the central part of Shadowmoon Valley, where you can kill Enraged Fire Spirits. However, be aware that they sometimes share spawn points with Enraged Earth Spirits, so you'll need to kill these monsters to spawn new ones.
In short, you can farm Motes of Fire in many places, such as the northern Hellfire Peninsula or the top of Nagrand. However, these locations require flying mounts to access. The advantage is that if the competition becomes too fierce, you can move to other nearby areas.
Primal Air
Let's turn our attention to Primal Air. Since we mentioned Nagrand, you should know that besides obtaining Mote of Fire, the creatures there also have a chance to drop level 70 rare and epic gear. At the beginning of TBC Anniversary, these will be quite expensive.
But what about players who don't have flying mounts and can't go to Nagrand? Don't worry, you can go to Shadowmoon Valley, where it might be easier to farm air elemental. At least in the southern part of the region, these creatures are more likely to spawn there. If the competition is too fierce, you can also farm in the northern part of the region.
Primal Water
Next is Primal Water, which is relatively easy to obtain. These are scattered across many different areas, and you can easily level up from 60 to 70 in Outland using this method.
For example, at level 60, you can farm Bloodthirsty Marshfang in Marsh. If that's too crowded, you can also farm Eels in The Lagoon. Once you reach level 64, you can farm mobs in Sunspring Post, where there are mobs both on the shore and in the water. If you don't want to constantly monitor your breathing bar or swim around, you can also farm mobs in Halaa area in the middle of the region. Of course, there are also many enemies hiding in the water there, but the advantage is that you can run around freely without worrying about your breathing bar.
The last low-level location is near The Throne of the Elements. I recommend buying some Elixir of Water Breathing. This is fantastic when farming Motes of Water, as they mostly spawn underwater.
Primal Shadow
For Primal Shadow, you can basically start farming as soon as you enter Hellfire from Dark Portal. You can start farming at level 58 and continue until around level 64. If it's too crowded here, don't worry, you can move a little west and continue farming. However, be aware that this is a quest area, so competition can be fierce.
Alternatively, you can farm in the buildings near Oshu'gun, or around the boulder, where there are many Voidwalkers that drop one or two Motes of Shadow.
The last farming spot is in Netherstorm. The advantage of collecting Mote here is that you don't need a flying mount, but unfortunately, there aren't many places to farm there.
Primal Life
Players who want to obtain Primal Life should now head to Zangarmarsh. There are several different locations there where you can efficiently farm them.
You can start around level 60, then switch to another location around level 62, and farm until level 67. This is to make it easier to earn gold while leveling. But if the competition is too intense, you can also move a little west.
Another option is to switch to Terokkar Forest. There are Infested Root-Walkers everywhere there, which you can kill to obtain Mote of Life. Unfortunately, there are no high-level locations or areas accessible by flying mounts.
Primal Earth
Now let's introduce the best area for cultivating Primal Earth: Nagrand, as there are six different locations where you can kill elemental mobs and collect Motes of Earth. However, before starting to kill them, be sure to go to The Throne of the Elements, as there are different quests there that require you to kill these mobs simultaneously.
Higher-level players can also go to the center of Shadowmoon Valley to kill Enraged Earth Spirits. These mobs are in the same locations where we farm Primal Fire. Therefore, you can cultivate two different elemental mobs at the same time.
Primal Might
The way to obtain Primal Might is special, different from Primals mentioned above. Motes of Might are not directly harvested, but rather Alchemists convert 1x Primal Air, 1x Primal Fire, 1x Primal Mana, and 1x Primal Earth into 1 Primal Might. So as long as you collect enough basic Primal, you don't need to worry about it. However, note that to transmute Primal Might, you must have Alchemist perform a cooldown transmute with a 20-hour cooldown.
Primal Nether
Finally, Primal Nether is primarily obtained by defeating the last boss of Heroic dungeons, with a 100% drop rate. Additionally, there's a lower drop rate from the final boss in Normal difficulty dungeons level 68 and above. Please note that these materials are Soulbound; players must complete the dungeon to obtain Mote of Nether.
In summary, these are all the current ways to obtain Primal in WoW TBC Classic Anniversary. This material is essential for crafting rare and epic armor, weapons, and set items, so acquire them now and prepare for the upcoming raid!
