WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Must-Pick Quest Items | One Wrong Choice Could Slow You for Weeks

Category: WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Posted: Feb 13, 2026 Views: 6327

In WoW TBC Classic Anniversary, quests offer XP, reputation, gold, and gear. Some players might rush through the quests to level up, but they might overlook the gear rewards.

These quest-rewarded items aren't useless, and some can even last you until the end of the expansion. However, choosing the wrong gear can slow down your progress. Let's look at some quests worth paying attention to.

WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Must-Pick Quest Items One Wrong Choice Could Slow You for Weeks

Special Delivery to Shattrath City

Rewards:

  • Chestplate of A'dal
  • Pants of the Naaru
  • Shattrath Leggings

This quest rewards three options, the most powerful being Shattrath Leggings. If you're playing a non-human paladin, this is arguably the best quest gear in the entire Burning Crusade.

While Chestplate of A'dal might seem more suited to tanks, it's a trap compared to Shattrath Leggings. Shattrath Leggings boost expertise rating, a feature few other gear can match.

Showdown (Blade's Edge Mountains Quest)

Rewards:

  • Tourmaline Crown
  • Clefthoof Hide Leggings
  • Oilcloth Breeches
  • Malefactor's Eyepatch
  • Leonine Breastplate
  • Blackened Chestplate

If you chose the wrong gear in Special Delivery to Shattrath City quest, don't be discouraged, and you can obtain alternative gear in this quest.

Showdown quest offers six optional rewards, including Clefthoof Hide Leggings, which is a decent Paladin item, but not as good as Special Delivery to Shattrath City.

The Flesh Lies...

Rewards:

  • Demolisher's Bracers
  • Flesh Handler's Gauntlets
  • Protectorate Waistband
  • Boots of the Nexus Warden

This quest's rewards also have a pitfall. Looking at the effects alone, each one seems great, but for all physical DPS classes, ignore the other options and choose Flesh Handler's Gauntlets. No other effect compares to increasing your expertise rating.

Cruel's Intentions (Horde)/Overlord (Alliance)

Rewards:

  • Vengeance of the Illidari
  • Bladefist's Breadth
  • Regal Protectorate

This quest presents players with one of the most crucial choices upon entering Outland. The quest rewards three extremely powerful trinkets, corresponding to spellcasters/healers, physical DPS, and tanks respectively. Regarding this quest, the core principle remains the same: prioritize leveling up your second specialization.

If you're a tank main but just starting out and don't have any tank trinkets, you can choose Regal Protectorate, which can be used in conjunction with another quest trinket from Netherstorm.

However, if you already have Adamantine Figurine or other tank trinkets, be sure to choose a trinket that will boost your DPS.

Gava'xi (Nagrand Quest)

Rewards:

  • Ethereal Sash
  • Oshu'gun Relic
  • Zerid's Vintage Musket

This quest is especially important for healers because its reward, Oshu'gun Relic, is very powerful for the healing class.

  • Permanent Effect: Increases healing spell power by 53
  • Use Effect: Increases healing spell power by 213 for 20 seconds

This isn't just transitional gear, and for Restoration Druids, it will be one of the BiS items until the end of TBC. It's also a pre-Raid BiS item for almost all healing classes.

The Hound-Master

Rewards:

  • Tourmaline Crown
  • Clefthoof Hide Leggings
  • Oilcloth Breeches
  • Malefactor's Eyepatch
  • Leonine Breastplate
  • Blackened Chestplate

This quest's rewards cover all classes, and you can choose according to your class. However, here's a special reminder:

If you choose Scryers faction and plan to play a tank: please choose either a spell damage or physical damage necklace. This is because Scryers have a dedicated quest in Netherstorm, and the reward necklace is almost identical to the tank necklace you choose here, only with 2 more defense ratings. Don't waste your necklace choice in Blade's Edge Mountains.

Furthermore, hunter players who don't lack XP and WoW TBC Classic Anniversary gold can basically skip this quest, as there are no decent agility necklaces among the rewards.

Ar'kelos the Guardian

Rewards:

  • Pendant of the Battle-Mage
  • Core of Ar'kelos
  • Cloak of the Valiant Defender
  • Rejuvenating Scepter

The trinkets rewarded from this quest are generally excellent choices before entering Karazhan. You can choose according to your character.

Dimensius the All-Devouring

Rewards:

  • Circlet of the Starcaller
  • Dabiri's Enigma
  • Starcaller's Plated Legguards
  • Void Slayer's Tunic

Dabiri's Enigma provides 30 defense rating and increases block rating upon use. Again, I value the permanent defense rating more. For protection paladins, immunity to critical strikes and immunity to crushing blows are top priorities, and this trinket will greatly help you achieve these.

Varedis Must Be Stopped

Rewards:

  • Ceremonial Kris
  • Hauberk of Karabor
  • Slayer's Axe
  • Summoner's Blade
  • Sunfury Legguards
  • Wildcaller

Hauberk of Karabor provides 25 Agility, 18 Stamina, Hit Rating, and Attack Power. It's a pre-Raid BiS item for hunters, and don't choose other items.

Dissension Amongst the Ranks...

Rewards:

  • Evoker's Mark of the Redemption
  • Slayer's Mark of the Redemption
  • Spellsword's Mark of the Redemption
  • Protector's Mark of the Redemption

Slayer's Mark of the Redemption is an excellent physical damage ring. The other rings are also good, but Protector's Mark of the Redemption is particularly noteworthy, providing 25 defense rating and 15 block rating. Tank players lacking suitable rings can complete this quest.

Teron Gorefiend, I am...

Rewards:

  • Evoker's Helmet of Second Sight
  • Overlord's Helmet of Second Sight
  • Stalker's Helmet of Second Sight
  • Shamanistic Helmet of Second Sight
  • Stealther's Helmet of Second Sight
  • Druidic Helmet of Second Sight

This quest also features a trap option. For Hunters, do not choose mail armor, and instead, choose leather armor, specifically Stealther's Helmet of Second Sight. For Retribution Paladins, the best choice is Overlord's Helmet of Second Sight.

Hero of the Brood

Rewards:

  • Band of the Guardian
  • Keeper's Ring of Piety
  • Time-bending Gem
  • Andormu's Tear

Andormu's Tear is the best choice for protection paladins, providing dodge and block, and its value far exceeds similar equipment.

The above equipment works well even in raids, and you can continue using it as long as you don't find a better alternative within a few weeks.
