In gaming, there's one aspect that will keep players coming back and that's the end game elements to keep players entertained, interested and drawn together. Here is a look ahead to Diablo IV's announced End Game modes and what to expect.
Important Note
Before we begin, I want to advise that this detail is taken from the closed end game beta done in the ending of 2022. So, the modes and challenges discussed may change, and additional end game modes may be added to Diablo IV closer to release.
End Game Intro
Diablo IV announced a few end game modes that players can experience in game, and were tested in a closed beta ending of 2022. Those modes were Helltide, Nightmare Dungeons, Fields of Hatred, Whispers of the Dead and the Paragon Boards. So, all above are what you can expect from these modes.
Helltides
Helltides are region-wide events that are only available to players in World Tier 3: Nightmare difficulty. The demons of Lilith are stronger, more powerful and come in abundance. The loot you get in this mode mostly depends on the difficulty you're playing on. The higher the difficulty, the better the loot you get.
In addition, in this mode you will also encounter monsters that will drop Cinders. Cinders are also the dedicated currency found in common Helltide Chests.These chests provide an exclusive single item slot piece of equipement. But you have to be weary, cause you fall in Helltide, you lose all your Cinders. So, make sure you don't hoard them.

Nightmare Dungeons
Nightmare Dungeons is very difficult. Once you're in that mode, it's like you are walking into your own nightmare. With massive amount of creatures and loot hauls. These Dungeons will become available to the player once you obtain a Nightmare Sigil, which are obtained by completing dungeons in nightmare modes and will add special modifiers that increase the ferocity of monsters.
Each Sigil provides a new form of modifier, which increases the difficulty, however at the same time increases the potential for higher-rarity item drops. The more Nightmare Dungeons you complete, the more Sigils you will receive and can continue to grow the dungeons up in difficulty, which benefits you in the end.
As players increase in World Tiers, new Nightmare Dungeons will become available with higher tier look and awards.
Whispers Of The Dead
The Whispers of the Dead is similar concept to dailies. Once you complete a specific chapter in the main quest lines, the Whispers of the Dead become available to the player.
This end game mechanic will display Whispers on your map scattered through Sanctuary, which change throughout the day. Once you complete these Whispers, which are considered small tasks, you will be given gold, experience and Grim Favors.
The Grim Favors various depending on the Whispers you complete. But once you collect 10, you can exchange them at the Tree of Whispers for a wide haul of loot and experience.
Fields of Hatred
Fields of Hatred are your PVP focused end game mechanics. Mephisto has cursed specific areas of Sanctuary where players can dispatch demons earning them Seeds Of Hatred.
However, you need to keep a keen eye as other players can also run into these areas and attack you for the seeds. But if you're quick, you can bring them to the Altar of Extraction and transform them into Red Dust.

The benefit here is that once they are transformed into Red Dust, you cannot lose them if you are defeated in battle by another player. However, if you are not able to get them transformed and you fall in battle, your Seeds Of Hatred will be dropped and can be picked up by another player. So, make sure to give yourself enough time.
But what does the Red Dust do? You can use Red Dust at the PVP Cosmetic and mount vendors to get cosmetic rewards. Merely cosmetic attire, but worth it in my opinion.
These are just to name a few end game modes in the game with more expected to be announced closer to the date of release. Also make note that these can change depending on player feedback and experience.
Paragon Board
And yes, I did miss one more mechanic, the Paragon Boards.
The Paragon Board is unlocked for each class at character level 50 and is a distillation of this focus. When turned on, characters start on the central tile of the board, from where players can make choices radiating outward. Once the hero reaches the gate tile, the player can choose which Paragon Board they want to connect to at that location.

The best sources are still the chests from the new final boss, Mephisto, and Kurast Undercity.
Opening Mephisto's chests with a special key has a very high chance of obtaining Horadric Seal; while not 100%, it's the highest known single-time drop rate.
Methods to Obtain Mythic Unique Items
New Final Boss Mephisto
Mephisto will be your first target during progression. However, first, we need to unlock Lair Boss keys. The key needed here is called Crux of the False Prophet.
Defeating Lilith in Torment 8 completes the season Rank 8 capstone reward, granting you a key. Note that this only applies to Lilith on Torment 8 difficulty.
Next, your first use of the key to open Mephisto endgame chest will guarantee a new key drop, allowing you to immediately re-challenge Mephisto.
Additionally, The Greater Lair Bosses in Torment 10 and above have a very low chance of dropping Diablo 4 Mythic Uniques. They can also drop from War Plans rewards and World Bosses, but are extremely rare.
This boss fight has three phases, with the third phase being extremely difficult, and most builds will be one-shotted. Therefore, it's recommended to maximize Armor, Resistances, and Damage Reduction.
Chests may contain a large number of Ancestral items with powerful affixes, a high probability of Mythic Unique Items, and a high probability of Horadric Seals. The first key is a must-have. After completing the challenge, use the returned second key to fight again; the double rewards are extremely high.
War Plans Nemesis System
This is the most stable way to obtain items. Choose the middle path in War Plans tree, focusing on unlocking Two by Two as quickly as possible, as it unlocks Nemesis Lair. After defeating the boss and opening the chest, there's a chance to encounter a Nemesis Portal.
In the beginner stage, two entry-level Lair bosses will fight simultaneously. You only need one key and one opening to obtain one original reward plus two Nemesis rewards, for a total of three boss rewards. Mythic drop rate is significantly higher than that of normal bosses.
After triggering Greater Nemesis Lair, two higher-level Lair bosses will appear, further increasing Mythic drop rate. Testing shows that at least one Mythic item is guaranteed every 1-2 Nemesis attempts.
If you defeat Ultimate Nemesis Lair, it will drop items equivalent to 10 Hoard Chests. One Nemesis Lair kill is equivalent to the total loot from killing 10 bosses in a row. Mythic Unique Items can even drop multiple items at once, which is not uncommon.
The process is as follows: First, farm normal Lair bosses to accumulate a few keys, at least 5-10. Then, trigger Greater Nemesis Lair, and try to get as many Ultimate Nemesis Lair as possible.
After starting the boss fight and completing the kill, you can open the chest and have a chance to trigger a Portal, allowing you to re-enter the fight. If it doesn't trigger, continue to the next boss. Triggering it even once is a huge win.
Rune Crafting
Through rune crafting, you can selectively craft any Mythic Unique item.
You will need 6 specific magic runes, 6 specific rare runes, 6 specific legendary runes, and 1 Resplendent Spark. Then, in Jeweler's rune crafting interface, select Mythic Uniques tab to begin crafting. Craft Mythic item you want directly, including weapons, armor, and jewelry, but not Horadric Seals.
Resplendent Sparks can be obtained through rewards given during multiple season journey phases, and disenchanting any Mythic Unique Item will also yield one.
Additionally, you can trade runes with other players to advance your game.

In Diablo 4, the legend of Secret Cow Level has always captivated players. With the release of Lord of Hatred, a hidden questline has finally been revealed. It won't be updated in the logbook; players need to carefully record it.
This article will detail the entire process from starting the quest to approaching the secret level, based on the discovered complete walkthrough. All steps have been verified. Phase One
The trigger point is located on the east face of Mount Hefaetrus. There, there's a strange interaction point with a strange diary and a bottle of alcohol. The inside back cover reads: "Blind are those that deny their own sins."
Burning Pride's Sin
In Kyovashad, go to the gatehouse, where Holy Cedar Tablet can be found. Choose to carve Pride and burn it. Note that the order in which you burn it is crucial.
Returning to the journal, a new text prompt appears: ... these machines make short work of even the vilest beast Hell can spawn, as though the Heavenly Father himself was hurling his mighty spears.
Obtain Amazonian Bolt

Collect Armor
Return to Akarat's Bulwark and fight the corrupted Amazon. Rare Diablo 4 Items include: Amazon Training Tunic, Amazon Training Pants, Amazon Training Gauntlets, and Amazon Training Boots.
Equip each item immediately upon acquisition. After collecting all the items, find Elite Corrupted Amazon Captain southeast of the fortress and defeat him to obtain Mother's Rose. Go to Athulua and burn Temple of Courage with a brazier. You can then revert to your original equipment.
Phase Three
This involves areas where combat is not possible and the remains of key characters.
Burning Sin of Fear
Return to the gatehouse and burn Fear; the journal will update. Go to Ruins of Brocken Reason on Lycander Island. The enemies here will not attack unless provoked, but do not engage them.
There is a giant raven near the fountain in the southwest of the ruins. Interact with it, and it will fly away; follow it. If there is no raven here, it may be because you previously engaged in combat with an enemy.
This raven will cross some inaccessible terrain, so if you lose it, you can teleport back to Temis to start over. The raven will return to the starting point and drop a Skull; pick it up to obtain new clues.
Obtain the Key
Follow the new clue to Temple of Life on the same island. Interact with the brazier outside to obtain a special key.
Obtain Neyrelle's Hand
Go to Creaking Hulls, north of Hawezaar. Its ship's hull resembles a bull's head. At the end, where the original coffin was, is now a fishpond. Fish for the coffin. Use the key to open it and enter Rathma's Temple. Run to the altar where Elias's finger is located; find Neyrelle's Hand nearby. Pick it up to complete the questline.
Final Step
This requires combining the two prerequisite quests: Stamina Potion obtained from Cow Level quest in the main game, and Rusted Bardiche obtained from Lord of Hatred.
Crafting the Item
Place Stamina Potion, Rusted Bardiche, and Neyrelle's Hand into Horadric Cube. The recipe will display three question marks. Craft to obtain a Bull Skull Treasure Chest, namely the Trophy of the Faithful.

Open the treasure chest to obtain Torn Page and complete the challenge for the title "MOO" and MOO emote.
Travel to Hidden Island and Unfinished Cow Level
Follow Torn Page's clues to the cow-head terrain area on Philios Island. Find Outcast's Boat and sail to the hidden island. The island features a Skeleton Horse, statues of humanoid cows, a dilapidated hut with a sign saying "Do not feed the animals," and a desolate cellar.
Inside the cellar, many seated human skeletons look at the altar at the end of the room which depicts a large cow, and twelve cows are arranged in a circle staring at a symbol.
The final room provides the biggest clue: a map of Skovos Highlands and Gonnagal's Guide to the Hecatomb, which depicts seven portal images, presumably the entrance to Cow Level. These are all the clues discovered so far.

To achieve a high Toughness rating, the key lies in maintaining a healthy balance across these three defensive pillars; relying too heavily on a single attribute leaves you highly vulnerable, and prone to being instantly one-shot, when challenging the bosses of Torment XII.
In short, for builds tackling T12 difficulty, I would recommend aiming for a Toughness rating of approximately 2 to 3 million in Softcore. In Hardcore, however, this target value should likely be doubled, reaching roughly 4 to 5 million.
Naturally, this implies that you must invest a considerable amount of effort into enhancing your gear. However, always remember: do not focus solely on stacking damage output while completely neglecting your defensive attributes.
Gear Stat Priority

This means you cannot obtain this specific affix simply by using basic Tuning Prisms; you must manually reroll your gear's defensive affixes to have a chance at rolling this particular premium stat.
As for Life and Armor, these two defensive attributes are incredibly easy to acquire, they are the absolute fundamentals. Your maximum Life serves as the base value for all Toughness calculations; beyond your standard defensive gear, weapons and rings are excellent sources for obtaining additional life.
If you are able to replace a secondary damage affix on your weapon with a Greater Affix (GA) tier Life affix, or even Life on Hit, your survivability will see a dramatic improvement, while the impact on your monster-clearing efficiency will be negligible. Therefore, it is recommended that you prioritize seeking out gear featuring defensive Greater Affixes.

Conventional wisdom suggests that weapons should be dedicated solely to damage output; however, at T12 difficulty, affixes such as Life on Hit and high Maximum Life on a weapon serve as excellent supplements to your survivability. Since gloves and talismans currently provide the vast majority of multiplicative damage bonuses in Diablo 4, replacing a weapon's elemental damage bonus with a defensive affix results in a negligible overall loss of damage output.
Currently, in Diablo 4 Season 13, one of the most dominant defensive gear pieces is undoubtedly Endurant Faith. Although it occupies an offensive gear slot, if your build is already capable of effortlessly one-shotting packs of monsters at T12 difficulty, then sacrificing one offensive affix slot to equip these Unique gloves is more than enough to completely resolve any survivability issues you may face.
If your build generates an exceptionally high amount of healing or Life on Hit, then items like Temerity unique pants can suddenly become a top-tier choice. These pants convert your excess healing into a massive, consistently stable barrier shield, thereby significantly raising your survivability ceiling.
Now, for a cautionary tale: you have undoubtedly heard of Tyrael's Might, but it is not always the absolute best-in-slot option for defense. Unless a Tyrael's Might drops with a Greater Affix for All Resistance or Damage Reduction, a Legendary chest piece featuring perfect defensive affixes and a powerful defensive Aspect will often provide superior survivability benefits compared to a standard Tyrael's Might.
Paragon Board
Once you reach Paragon Level 245 or higher, you no longer need to obsess over chasing down every single minor damage node on your Paragon Board; instead, you can begin prioritizing nodes that provide supplementary defensive benefits.
Rather than expending your precious points to unlock nodes that are situated in remote corners of the skill tree, and offer only negligible boosts to your Glyphs, consider revisiting Armor and Resistance nodes you previously skipped over in your haste to chart a path across the board. By activating just 5 to 10 Magic Nodes on your skill tree, you can easily boost your total Toughness by an additional 10–15%.
Furthermore, do not hesitate to slot in defensive glyphs. For certain classes, these Glyphs can provide up to 10% base damage reduction at Torment 12 difficulty, a benefit far more valuable than a mere 5% additive damage increase.
Whether you are a Diablo 4 Season 13 player or a pioneer who already possesses Lord of Hatred expansion, survival in Torment 12 is a systemic undertaking. You cannot expect to achieve invincibility by relying on a single affix or a solitary unique item.
While the inherent durability of each class varies, by optimizing your build using the strategies outlined above, even the most squishy classes can hold their ground amidst the monster hordes of Torment 12. Remember: your DPS is meaningless unless you stay alive to deal it.

Of course, if you insist on going toe-to-toe, victory isn't entirely out of reach. Phase 1 Battle
First off, Mephisto boss fight is divided into two distinct phases. In Phase 1, you will face Mephisto we all know and love, specifically his classic form from Diablo 2.
For his first attack, Mephisto summons a barrage of fireballs to rain down upon you. As this ability is cast, small black circles will appear on the ground, marking the exact landing zones for the fireballs; be sure to dodge them with extreme caution.
Please note: once this attack sequence begins, it persists for several seconds. This means you must maintain constant movement until no new circles appear on the ground.
For his second attack, Mephisto raises both arms, causing his hands to immediately begin glowing with a crimson light. He then proceeds to launch a volley of smaller fireballs in your direction. These fireballs possess a homing effect, so you must move swiftly to create distance until they dissipate on their own.
For his third attack, he creates several pools of poison in his immediate vicinity; these pools then erupt, sending waves of toxic venom spewing out in all directions. When he casts this ability, you will find it extremely difficult to get close enough to Mephisto to deal damage.
During his fourth attack, Mephisto triggers a massive red explosion that engulfs the entire arena. Immediately following this, and accompanied by the sudden appearance of corpses, countless red spikes will erupt from the ground. A few seconds later, these corpses will explode, spawning homing fireballs, which will make a beeline straight for you. This is the moment to put your character's mobility to the test; immediately activate Nether Step and Teleport to dodge and save your life.
For his fifth attack, Mephisto unleashes rings of red lightning that radiate outward. These lightning rings first expand outward before contracting back inward; therefore, you must closely observe their movement patterns and attempt to weave through the gaps between them. Once again, you will need to time your dodges with precision or utilize your movement skills at just the right moment.
If you are playing as a Warlock, I strongly recommend adding extra charges to your Nether Step ability; at critical junctures, this skill can truly be a lifesaver.
Continue your relentless assault on Mephisto, and do not hesitate to consume health potions during this process; as his health bar dwindles, the frequency with which he unleashes his various attacks will increase dramatically.
Once Mephisto's health has been whittled down to approximately 33%, he will unleash his most lethal strike: he hurls a mass of red corpses into the pools of blood surrounding the arena. Immediately thereafter, serpentine red creatures will surge forth from the blood pools and slither across the entire arena.
From this point onward, Mephisto will begin combining all of his various attacks into a chaotic barrage. However, his attacks now follow no discernible pattern, so your only recourse is to rely on your movement skills to desperately scramble for survival.
When you land the final blow, the entire screen will instantly plunge into darkness. The boss has not yet fallen; rather, the real show is just about to begin.
Phase 2 Battle
Welcome to Phase 2! The battle ahead is about to become absolutely chaotic. You will be teleported to a massive, dark arena, a vast pool constructed entirely of blood, where you will face Mephisto head-on. It is worth noting that the combat area in the second phase is significantly smaller than in the first. This works to the boss's advantage, as he can utilize area-of-effect attacks to instantly pull you toward him, thereby putting your mobility skills to the test.
Upon entering this zone, the first detail you will probably notice is that Mephisto possesses the ability to seal off your skills. Once a red circular marker appears around your skill icons, it signifies that you are currently unable to use those specific skills. The only way to regain access to your sealed skills is to head to the specific locations marked on your mini-map and collect the orbs that spawn there.
You might be wondering: exactly how many skills can Mephisto seal at once? I must say that this is entirely random; if luck isn't on your side, he could even disable all of your skills!
