  The size of outer PCI is entirely determined by Vision stat. The higher Vision, the larger outer PCI. Even in online matches, where the system forcibly reduces this outer PCI by about half, high-Vision players will still have a relatively larger coverage area than low-Vision players.

  It's important to note that the PCI consists of three parts: outer layer, inner layer, and center point. The inner layer is affected by Contact or Clutch, while the center point is used to aim for the precise landing point of the ball. Many players are accustomed to keeping only the outer layer and center point, discarding the inner layer for a clearer view.

  

  The Specific Role of Vision in Practice

  Increasing Foul Balls

  The most direct benefit of high Vision is providing more margin for error, creating more opportunities for your at-bat. When your PCI (Position Indicator) is completely off-target, or your swing timing is less than ideal, high Vision allows the bat to still glide to the edge of the ball, knocking it out of bounds, instead of a complete miss.

  This mechanism is especially valuable when you have two strikes. It allows you to continue battling the pitcher, see more balls, and wait for better opportunities. In other words, Vision can be a lifesaver in certain situations, preventing you from being strikeout because of a slight deviation.

  Impact on Timing Windows

  The timing windows, simply put, are the effective swing time range within which you can hit the ball into the field. High Vision widens this window, allowing you to keep the ball in fairs, or even hit a good shot, even with slightly faster or slower timing.

  Conversely, players with low Vision have very narrow timing windows. Facing high-speed balls, especially two-seam fastballs, you'll often feel like your bat can't turn in time. Even if you feel you've swung early, it still shows Just Late, and the ball is forced into a weak ground ball.

  Your swing being half a beat slow isn't always a reaction problem; it's more likely because of a low Vision card causing a mechanic-related delay. Switching to a player with a Vision around 100 significantly alleviates this perpetual half-beat lag.

  Affecting Check Swing

  In MLB 23 and earlier versions, Vision also affected the success rate of check swings. High-Vision players were more likely to stop halfway through their swing, resulting in a missed swing by the umpire.

  However, in the current version, check swings are entirely determined by player input and are no longer related to Vision values.

  Differences in Vision Experience at Different Difficulty Levels

  All-Star Difficulty

  For most players, All-Star difficulty offers relatively friendly ball speeds and a wider timing window. Even cards with a Vision around 50 can be used normally as long as your PCI positioning ability is decent. Occasionally, you might feel squeezed when hitting inside fastballs, but it's not unmanageable.

  Hall of Fame and Legend Difficulty

  This is where Vision truly becomes the dividing line. At higher difficulties, pitcher speed increases significantly, ball movement is more exaggerated, and timing windows are compressed very much.

  At this point, if you use a player with a Vision below 70 or even below 50, you'll frequently experience situations where you think you've swung early, but you're still slightly too slow; even if your PCI is on the ball's position, you swing but miss instead of going foul.

  On the other hand, a Vision of 90 or 100 or higher allows you to still have a reasonable margin for error at higher difficulties.

  How to choose player cards based on Vision?

  Difficulty and personal skill level determine everything. If you mainly play All-Star difficulty and have a good feel for the game, then a player like Aaron Judge with a lower Vision can still perform incredibly well and won't waste your MLB 26 stubs. Don't let others' comments about low Vision deter you from trying.

  If you're playing Hall of Fame or Legend, as the overall card strength increases in the late game, your starting lineup should ideally have a Vision around 100. For example, Dustin Pedroia, Troy Tulowitzki, and Albert Pujols. You can use these players with confidence.

  However, you should be cautious about cards with a Vision around 70 or 80.

  A new week has begun! However, MLB The Show 26 hasn't released any new Programs yet; so, if you want to continue making progress and earning rewards in the game through Program-oriented play, Mexico City Series Event is your best option.

  In fact, this program was just launched last Friday, April 24th. If you didn't get to play much over the weekend, it's still brand new to you and the rewards are excellent.

  Below, we'll provide a detailed breakdown of the program's missions and rewards, along with the best strategies for completing them.

  

  Mexico City Series Event duration

  This program went live on April 24th, but it isn't a long-term MLB 26 fixture; it is scheduled to end on April 28th or 29th (depending on your time zone). So, if you haven't unlocked all the rewards yet, now is the perfect time to make a final sprint!

  What rewards can you earn?

  The program features four rewards, listed here in ascending order of XP required to unlock them: Game XP, Player Cards for Michael King and Lourdes Gurriel Jr., and a Deluxe - Random Pack:

  • 10 XP: 10,000 Game XP
  • 25 XP: Michael King
  • 50 XP: Lourdes Gurriel Jr.
  • 75 XP: Deluxe - Random Pack

  Among these, Mexico City Michael King card is a 92 OVR Diamond card featuring three quirks: Homebody, Night Player, and Break Outlier.

  If you miss the opportunity to earn him by progressing through the program, you'll have to consume at least 16,000 Stubs to acquire him later. However, if you work hard and end up earning a duplicate copy of the card, selling it on the market is also a great option.

  A quick calculation reveals that if you complete each of these missions exactly once, you will unlock every single reward available in the program.

  However, if you find a particular mission especially difficult, you also have the option to repeatedly complete the missions you excel at instead.

  

  Other content worth noting

  April Spotlight Drop is a weekly-updating mini-series program introduced in MLB The Show 26 this April. The latest installment, April Spotlight Drop 4, launched on the very same day as Mexico City Series Event.

  While these programs typically run for a standard seven-day duration, April consists of only 30 days; consequently, you have just six days to participate in this specific installment.

  April Spotlight Drop 4 offers six distinct rewards, including 2,500 XP, three player cards, and two themed packs; however, the overall value of these rewards is not quite as high as that of Mexico City Series Event.

  Fortunately, there are more ways to earn Program XP in April Spotlight Drop 4, and some of its missions overlap with those of Mexico City Series Event, allowing you to make progress in both simultaneously.

  Nevertheless, if your time is truly limited, and you can realistically only focus on one program in the short term, we still recommend prioritizing Mexico City Series Event.

  Which players is the program system best suited for?

  Theoretically, programs are an integral part of MLB The Show 26 Diamond Dynasty mode. However, as illustrated by our breakdown of the specific programs above, the method by which you complete them often depends heavily on your level of engagement in other game modes.

  Therefore, generally speaking, these programs are best suited for MLB The Show 26 players who have ample free time and possess strong organizational and planning skills. Such players can strategically tackle both long-term and short-term programs in tandem to maximize their overall rewards.

  Conversely, if you lack the necessary time, you simply won't be able to complete most of the limited-time programs; and if you struggle with planning, you may find yourself expending a great deal of effort for very little return.

  Series That Need a Small Investment

  All-Stars Series

  This year, a ton of affordable - and often free - cards come from Multiplayer Program and Live Series, requiring barely any stubs. Don't touch this series if you haven't done Live Series, but since you've already finished it, just go ahead and wrap it up.

  Breakout Series

  Most Breakout Series cards can be obtained practically for free. Even the few you'll need to trade for are very low-value, so just pick them up as you go.

  Contributor Series

  You can skip Trevor Hoffman and Babe Ruth. All you need is to grab one Griffin Jax for around 20,000 stubs, and the rest of the cards are essentially free.

  2nd Half Heroes Series

  You can skip Manny Ramirez, Bernie Williams, and Randy Johnson. Then simply choose whichever takes fewer stubs between Blake Treinen or Bernie Williams. If you haven't finished Mets Live Series, just acquire both and save yourself the hassle.

  Postseason Series

  You can skip Victor Martinez, Jose Altuve, and Roy Campanella. Nearly all the remaining cards can be earned for free.

  Last Ride Series

  You only need to collect a single Last Ride card. Even Chipper Jones will run you less than 6,000 stubs. If you already have 64 OVR Kerry Wood, you can even sell Chipper Jones.

  Standout Series

  Right now, Standout series has only four cards. Anibal Sanchez comes from a collection mission. If you're missing this card or that card, the other two aren't too costly either. The real hurdle is Yankees collection. If your Live Series isn't fully built out yet, this series could require nearly 300,000 stubs - in that case, consider swapping it out and skipping it with another series.

  Stub-Heavy Series

  This is the single most important point for saving stubs in the whole guide. You have three relatively costly series - Egg Hunt, St. Patrick's Day, and World Baseball Classic - and you'll generally want to complete two of them and skip the remaining one.

  • St. Patrick's Day: the full set currently runs about 46,000 stubs.
  • Egg Hunt: the bare minimum will run you around 130,000 stubs.
  • World Baseball Classic: overall, it will require roughly 250,000 stubs.

  I suggest completing St. Patrick's Day and Egg Hunt, and skipping World Baseball Classic. If you already own the two WBC Maikel Garcia cards, then you could consider skipping Egg Hunt instead, but you'll need to crunch the exact difference yourself.

  You don't have to finish everything right now. Many of these series will receive new cards down the road, making the collection easier and easier as time goes on. The entire collection was never designed to be completed on day one. If it takes you another month to earn this card, by then there will be even more free options available, and the total amount of stubs required will dip even further.

  If you wish to reach the playoffs faster and avoid playing through the remainder of the regular season once your spot is secured, you can simply quit or quickly lose your remaining games after reaching 14 to 16 wins. Doing so will not negatively impact your overall record or progress.

  Why prioritize Mini Seasons?

  As a primary source for earning stubs, every mode within Diamond Dynasty theoretically offers value worth exploring. However, at least in MLB The Show 26, Mini Seasons strikes the perfect balance between fun, profitability, and accessibility!

  Before we dive into the specific reasons why, there is one additional feature worth mentioning: the newly optimized PXP system.

  This mechanism applies across the entire Diamond Dynasty mode: as you use specific player cards in games and complete various designated actions, those cards accumulate PXP to advance their Parallel levels, ultimately resulting in attribute boosts.

  Building upon this foundation, MLB 26 introduces a new Parallel Mod feature. Once you reach a specific Parallel level and complete the associated missions, you can equip custom attribute mods to further enhance your players.

  Separately, Mini Seasons mode itself has been updated to feature more flexible seasonal mechanics, ensuring that you can level up or farm stubs, the in-game currency, much faster than in other game modes.

  Which Mini Season should you choose?

  Currently, Mini Seasons available in MLB 26 include two new themed seasons, World Baseball Classic (WBC) and New Threads, as well as the classic mode.

  Comparatively, WBC Mini Season is the superior choice; completing a full run in this mode requires approximately six games, whereas the other two modes require at least ten games, resulting in a much slower pace.

  For every full run you complete in WBC Mini Season, you will receive a specific number of Ballin' is a Habit packs, the quantity of which depends on your accumulated score, up to a maximum of three packs per run.

  Challenge Calls

  The real-world MLB Challenge Calls system makes its debut. You can contest a call on a ball/strike or a close play on the bases. Crucial Strategy Note: You only get two challenges per contest.   Tapping a designated button while on the mound now brings up a new Wheel Menu, granting quick access to:

  • Bullpen: Manage warm-up pitches without diving through clunky submenus.

  PitchCom Audio Cues

  The game integrates the actual PitchCom system used in the big leagues, where the catcher relays signs electronically.   Performance on Switch

  MLB The Show 26 runs on both the original Switch hardware and Switch 2.
