With MLB The Show 26 Legends & Flashbacks Collection set to launch on September 18, Diamond Dynasty player community has entered the final stretch of preparation. The following guide outlines how to get ready, covering predictions, series-specific preparation, and general strategies.

Ultimate Reward Prediction: Babe Ruth

MLB The Show 26 Legends & Flashbacks Collection Guide: Babe Ruth Reward Prediction & How to Prepare for it?

The ultimate reward for this Legends & Flashbacks Collection is highly likely to be Babe Ruth. Previous collection grand prizes included Miguel Cabrera (Right-handed Hitter), as well as Victor Martinez and Carlos Beltran (Switch-hitters). Following a Righty - Switch - Lefty rotation pattern, the final reward is almost certainly a left-handed legend, and Babe Ruth is undoubtedly the best fit for this role.

As the most iconic left-handed hitter in baseball history, Babe Ruth - with his maxed-out hitting attributes and positional versatility (1B/OF) - is the most logical candidate. Data-mined information regarding an Immortal Babe Ruth card (99 OVR) with a meta overall rating of 115.44 has already surfaced in the community, further reinforcing this speculation. Even if Babe Ruth isn't Collection reward, he is likely to appear as a reward in the concurrent Extreme Program.

Series-Specific Preparation Guide

St. Patrick's Day

This series requires 100% completion and consists of 8 cards. While the high price of Mike Trout card previously drove up the cost of this collection, Trout now costs only around 30K stubs. Consequently, the total cost has dropped to a manageable 150K–170K stubs; make sure to collect all 8 cards.

Finest

This series currently features 5 cards. You will likely only need to collect 2 of them to earn the Voucher, so there is no need to force yourself to acquire the entire set. Billy Wagner (99 OVR, approx. 270K stubs) is one of the most expensive cards; considering value for money, it is recommended to skip him.

The remaining cards are relatively easy to obtain: Carlos Beltran (97 OVR) is available for free via the Hall of Fame Program, Roy Oswalt can be earned through the XP Path, and the market prices for Keith Foulke and Darren O'Day are currently only around 9K and 11K stubs, respectively.

Milestone

Milestone series is one of the sets in this collection that requires the most advance preparation. Compared to the early stages, the card pool for this series in MLB 26 has expanded significantly, with 36 Milestone cards currently available.

The biggest challenge remains the high-priced cards, particularly Chili Davis, Stan Musial, and Bryce Harper. If the final collection requirements allow for skipping a certain number of cards, it is advisable to prioritize avoiding these expensive targets. However, until the official requirements are announced on September 18, it is not recommended to spend a large amount of stubs to complete the entire Milestone series prematurely.

Relatively speaking, Ryan Braun, Pedro Martinez, Aníbal Sánchez, and Manny Ramirez are more worthy of advance preparation. Some of these cards can be obtained through in-game avenues such as Weekend Classic, World Series, and XP Path; it is recommended to prioritize completing the corresponding events first, then use MLB The Show stubs to fill in any remaining gaps based on the final requirements.

Awards

Awards set is another tricky part of this collection. There are currently 56 eligible cards, and the final requirement is to collect 40, meaning up to 16 cards can be skipped. Although the margin for error seems generous, the set includes several high-priced cards, so the actual cost remains significant.

Ozzie Smith, Willie McGee, Geraldo Perdomo, and Adrián Beltré are all high-priced cards - with Ozzie Smith and Willie McGee being particularly expensive - so skipping them is a viable strategy. David Wright can be obtained for free via XP Path; if forced to choose between Manny Ramirez and David Wright, prioritizing David Wright is recommended for the purpose of this Awards collection.

Prime

Prime series is the most expensive set in this collection and offers very little margin for error. Key high-priced cards in this series include Ted Simmons and Jimmy Rollins; Ted Simmons has a market price of around 104K stubs, while the acquisition cost for Jimmy Rollins is a staggering 900K stubs, making him the biggest hurdle in the entire series.

If the final voucher requirement indeed demands the collection of every card in this series, Jimmy Rollins will be the pivotal card determining whether the voucher can be completed.

Hall of Fame

Consists of 6 cards; it is expected that 5 out of 6 or all of them will be required. Rick Ferrell and Trevor Hoffman are priced around 43K and 45K stubs respectively, while other cards remain reasonably priced. Carlos Beltran can be obtained for free via Hall of Fame Program, with a moderate overall difficulty level for completion.

General Preparation Strategy

Act Immediately

Now is the optimal time to get involved - card prices haven't yet surged ahead of the Legends & Flashbacks Collection launch. As September 18 approaches, the prices of popular gap cards (missing pieces) are likely to climb further.

Start organizing your inventory now: clear out duplicate cards to recoup stubs while prioritizing the acquisition of missing cards priced under 10K stubs. For more expensive cards - or those whose inclusion is uncertain - there is no need to rush; conserve your funds and wait for the final Collection requirements to be announced before filling those gaps.

Prioritization

Prioritize Free Acquisition Paths

Focus first on cards available directly through in-game activities, such as Topps Now, Cornerstone, Veteran, and Rookie series. Obtain these through Programs, XP Path, or other gameplay modes rather than spending stubs to acquire them early just to speed up progress.

Fill Low-Cost Gaps in High-Completion Series

For series with high completion rates and limited margin for error - such as All-Star, Awards, and Postseason - check your inventory and acquire missing low-cost cards early. Cards under 10K stubs pose little financial risk even if requirements shift slightly; conversely, once Collection goes live, these essential low-cost cards are prone to short-term price spikes.

Check High-Risk, Low-Margin Series Early

Pay special attention to series with low margins for error, such as St. Patrick's Day and Hall of Fame. The biggest risk here isn't the cost of a single card, but the inability to complete a Voucher due to missing just one or two items; therefore, verifying your inventory for these series should be a priority.

In summary, Legends & Flashbacks Collection arriving on September 18 will likely be the ultimate test of your inventory and stub reserves for this phase of MLB The Show 26. Regardless of whether the final reward is truly Babe Ruth, the most important steps now are completing free acquisition paths, filling low-cost gaps, and reserving resources for high-priced cards. Once the final requirements are revealed, you can adjust your strategy based on your inventory, ensuring you secure the final reward at the lowest possible cost.
