  Wobbly Life and MLB The Show 26 both include single-player content as well as online services. Wobbly Life reached more than 10,000 concurrent players when it launched in September 2025, but its current daily active player count may now be below 1,000.

  Although MLB The Show 26 has also experienced a decline in player activity, its estimated daily active player count could still be around 10,000. Among these four games, MLB The Show 26 could be the most competitive in terms of its ability to attract players.

  How Many Players Will Join MLB The Show 26?

  Even though most of the September PlayStation Plus games may not be particularly impressive, that does not necessarily mean MLB The Show 26 will attract a huge number of players.

  However, PlayStation platform will welcome a series of major releases in September, including NBA 2K27 and Onimusha: Way of the Sword on September 4, Marvel's Wolverine on September 15, Control Resonant on September 24, and EA Sports FC 27 on September 25.

  Games across various genres will arrive on PlayStation throughout September, and all of them will compete directly for players' attention with MLB The Show 26. Even so, if just 1% of PlayStation Plus subscribers decide to download MLB The Show 26, that would still represent a massive number of new players.

  Jump Start Bundle

  New players who choose to play MLB The Show 26 in September will not necessarily have to worry about falling far behind veteran players. The official team will provide Jump Start Bundle to help players customize their Road to the Show player while also giving their Diamond Dynasty squad a head start.

  Only PlayStation Plus subscribers can receive this bundle, and it can only be obtained during the free access period. Players who gain access to MLB The Show 26 after the trial period ends will not receive Jump Start Bundle.

  Jump Start Bundle includes:

  • The Show Packs ×5 for Diamond Dynasty
  • Equipment Pack ×1 for Road to the Show
  • Jumpstart Choice Pack ×1 for RTTS and Diamond Dynasty

  Players can use these packs to obtain some basic resources, but the official announcement did not reveal the specific player and item options available through Jumpstart Choice Pack.

  Impact on the Economy

  Although Jump Start Bundle provides five The Show Packs and a Choice Pack, it does not give new players a complete top-tier roster right away.

  There is little doubt that a large number of new players will join the game and open their packs, which will introduce a significant amount of base-level cards into the market. Low- and mid-tier cards could lose value as a result of this influx. If you have been holding these players, it may be better to sell them before September 1 and earn some MLB stubs.

  The impact on high-end player cards should be much smaller because even if a large number of new players arrive, the free bundle will not suddenly give them a large collection of elite cards.

  Instead, if some of these players decide to remain in MLB The Show 26, they could create additional demand for top-tier player cards, which could cause their value to rise.

  However, top-tier player cards in MLB The Show 26 can lose value quickly as new cards are released. This makes investing in these high-end cards quite risky. If you already hold them, keeping them for now may be reasonable, but there is little need to actively invest in them.

  Impact on MLB The Show 26 Servers

  

  MLB The Show 26 becoming a PlayStation Plus Monthly Game may not necessarily be good news for current players either, because the influx of new players could cause the servers to struggle once again.

  When MLB The Show 26 first launched, the servers experienced multiple interruptions. On March 24, the situation became particularly awkward when the official team announced that matchmaking had been fixed, yet players were still unable to connect properly an hour later.

  Players have frequently been forcibly disconnected during games even when their own network connections are working normally. The game may still report a disconnection, while other online games continue to work without any problems. This issue has even carried over from MLB The Show 25.

  The influx of new players brought by PlayStation Plus could ultimately be a positive development for MLB The Show 26 because it could inject new life into the game instead of leaving the same group of dedicated players to make up most of the community. Of course, that depends on whether the official servers can handle the increased load.
