Posted: Apr 11, 2025 Views: 220

Before playing MLB The Show series of games, you may simply think that all you have to do is play as a player or team manager, but in fact, in order to enrich the playability of the game, MLB The Show has added and integrated many elements that you may not even expect! At least in MLB 25.

Therefore, if you want to become a qualified MLB 25 player, in addition to mastering the skillful batting and pitching with a game console or operating handle, you must also understand all the game terms and the gameplay of the mechanisms they represent. Based on this, this time we will introduce Showdowns and April Showers Diamond Quest to you.

MLB The Show 25 Showdowns & April Showers Diamond Quest: Please Complete Them Carefully!

What Is Showdowns?

In fact, Showdowns, as part of the main mode Diamond Dynasty, includes multiple stages, and the ultimate purpose of all these stages is to let you build a team composed of players you have discovered through your own efforts (rather than directly using well-known players), and use this team to complete a series of challenges and defeat the final boss to earn rewards such as MLB 25 Stubs, new player cards or card packs.

Showdown Draft

You can think of it as a preparation stage, where the game will present you with a draft interface, and you need to select some of the players it shows you as your Showdowns team candidates, instead of using your own player cards directly like playing other Diamond Dynasty content.

It is worth mentioning that after selecting players, you can continue to select some equip-able skills, which should make it easier for you to complete the challenges and games in Showdowns.

Showdown Progression

After the team and skills are ready, you will first face a series of linear battles in Showdowns. After the battle begins, there is a scoreboard on the right side of the screen, which will count your wins and losses in real time. At the end of all the battles, the higher your score, the easier it will be for you to enter the final battle.

In the process of completing this series of battles, sometimes some small bosses marked with red icons will appear. If you fail to defeat them, your Showdowns mode will end directly and you must start again, so be careful. It is worth mentioning that if you are confident in your lineup or want to challenge yourself, you can jump directly to the final battle at any stage of the early battle.

Final Showdown

All you have to do at this stage is to defeat the boss. There is nothing much to say. In fact, if you have successfully reached this stage, defeating the boss should not be difficult for you. Just score as many points as possible. After completing all the content, you can claim your rewards!

April Showers Diamond Quest

The similarity between this task and Showdowns is that they are both part of Diamond Dynasty mode, but strictly speaking, Diamond Quest is one gameplay of Diamond Dynasty, and April Showers is just a new map for this gameplay. However, different Diamond Quest maps will reward you with different player cards, and will also require you to make adjustments to your original Diamond Quest strategy due to the layout.

How To Play It?

In general, you will still need to move around the board by rolling the dice. Each roll of the dice will determine your movement direction, and the higher the dice points, the more likely you are to gain an advantage. Your ultimate goal is to reach and conquer all the stadiums on the board-each stadium contains unique challenges.

During the movement, you may trigger these challenges, or you may encounter rewards, such as in-game currency peanuts. This currency can be used to redeem additional skill rewards at the “coach’s cart” position on the board to enhance your game experience, such as improving the timing of the swing or the speed of the pitch, which will give you a game advantage, especially when you are behind, so it is best to plan your peanuts carefully.

It must also be reminded that you may encounter an enemy called Zone Sweeper during the advancement. Encountering it will trigger a high-difficulty game, and if you lose, you will be punished, causing you to lose the peanuts and get the negative rewards during the period. Therefore, it is best to avoid it as much as possible unless you want to challenge yourself.

Is It Worth Playing?

Whether the new Diamond Quest map is worth playing depends mainly on the stubs and card packs in the final rewards. As for card rewards, April Showers offer 88-level Shane McClanahan and 88-level Anthony Rizzo, both Epic rewards. To increase the chance of getting them, you may need to complete the stadium challenge with high difficulty. In addition, the best of the rare rewards are Ballin’ Is a Habit packs.

As for whether these rewards are worth your effort, to be honest, it depends on your own situation. Of the two player cards, Shane McClanahan is the inferior one. As for whether to get Anthony Rizzo, if you like him or lack reliable players, he is a good choice. However, if you lack stubs, you can also sell their cards on the trade market after getting them!

After our introduction, you should have a certain understanding of these two contents, and I hope it will be helpful for you to play MLB 25. Thank you for reading.
