Path Of Exile 2: What Will Be The Effect Of The Planned Currency Changes?
Posted: Aug 03, 2023 Views: 3086
On the last day of ExileCon 2023, we found out that there have been a lot of changes to the currency in Path Of Exile 2. Unfortunately, this isn’t limited to just their cosmetic changes, some currencies are disappearing entirely.
Changing The Way Crafting Works
Alterations that disappear just like this Orb of Scouring. This means you can’t force a decent magic base on an item and then build it with other POE2 Currency. This also means that if you throw away an excellent base and mod, that base is now useless. Because you can’t get it down to zero and start building it up again. This will be a tremendous change in the way crafting works.
But it also means that the gear you drop will be more valuable than it was before they noticed it. They don’t want to change the way transactions are done, which will mean more blue items being traded. But I’m not expecting changes other than Chaos Orb, as they will work completely differently.
When we hit an item with a Chaos Orb, it re-rolls all mods. So all the mods fall off, and then a random set of mods gets turned back on in Path Of Exile 2. It will take one mod and delete it, then replace it with a new one. So, Chaos Orb is now a kind of Orb of Annulment.
Affects Item Drops
Now I fully understand why these changes were made. Because it made the item drops more impactful. But there are a few enormous problems.
First, through the first Item Filters, they look at the item base, but they don’t see the roll down item. This means that using Item Filters can actually get you into trouble.
Another problem I’ve seen has nothing to do with the item. When we drop the map, it has map sustain, and it physically reflects it. Also, we couldn’t run our character properly.
So all we have to do is block the item, which is no longer an option. We’ll probably hit it with a Chaos Orb to refresh everything that isn’t viable. Although we may have gotten lucky and removed Damage reflection. But there may be other mods here that we want to get rid of, like Cannot Leech. This is going to be extremely expensive.
Influencing The Crafting Of Cartographer’s Chisel
We now also need to consider the effect on Cartographer’s Chisel when we drop a Magic map. Normally, when we drop these currency items, we can restore them to a valid, perfect state. But if my Magic map is not enough, I will stop using the map. Because I have no control over how the map falls. This isn’t directly tied to currency changes, but can heavily affect crafting.
Other Changes
Currently, they are removing Crafting Bench from POE 2. Therefore, it will become more difficult for us to make perfect Endgame items. Because without Crafting Bench, we would start endless exploration.
Now, they intend to make town vendors play a bigger role in fixing buildings and small things. But I’ve had a lot of unpleasant experiences getting decent items from Vendor early in the game, and your Vendor won’t fix the map either.
These changes may affect SSF players more than any other change. Because they have to craft all POE 2 Items. Even though you play trade league, it affects SSF players more than others.
Anyway, that’s my guess as to how the currency changes in POE 2 might affect the game itself. I’m afraid that this will affect my gaming experience with POE 2. What do you think about this change? Let us wait quietly.

Path Of Exile 2 Patch 0.3.0 Crafting Bleed Witch Build To Complete Early Game
As one of the key main classes in PoE 2, Witch is an intelligence-based class focused on summoning minions and using dark magic to kill enemies. Its reliable damage output and low difficulty of mastering make it ideal for beginners.
Of course, just because it's easy to master doesn't mean you can easily tackle more advanced Path of Exile 2 content by playing as a Witch, especially since the release of patch 0.3.0, when the game's mechanics became richer and more complex.
With this in mind, this article will introduce a Bleed Witch build crafting guide that will help you complete most of Rise of the Abyssal league content and successfully enter the endgame.
Bleed Witch Build Crafting Overview
While Lightning Spear is a skill more suited to Amazons, this build also allows you to deal bleed damage to enemies and create more explosions with Lightning Spear.
In addition, you'll want to utilize Armor Break mechanic to increase enemy damage in subsequent encounters. To achieve this, you can either use Armor Break skill directly (if you have it) or add specific support gems, such as:
- Splinter: Breaks enemy armor by linking it to an attack skill.
- Corrosion: Reduces the effectiveness of enemy armor through poison or gas effects.
- Armor Explosion: Deals damage in an area when an enemy's armor is completely destroyed.
Building on this, you can make Lightning Spear even more powerful, inflicting a more intense bleed effect. For boss encounters, you can utilize Curse and Rake debuffs and Blood Hunt skill to completely decimate the enemy.
In addition, if you plan to use this build, it's best to choose Blood Mage as Ascendancy class. This will unlock Blood Barbs skill, which deals Aggravated bleed to cursed targets and also grants bleeding magnitude with elemental damage.
Note that as you progress, this build will require you to continually acquire new gems and replace old skills with new ones. If you can't unlock new skills quickly, consuming specific PoE 2 currency to enhance gear is another option.
Step 1: Become A Witch (And Blood Mage)
As we've explained, you must first become a Witch and then select Blood Mage after unlocking Ascendancy class mechanic before you can begin crafting this build.
When you arrive in the major zone Clearfell in Act 1, find Renly and obtain a spear from him. After that, unlock Explosive Spear, Contagion, and Frost Bomb skills and equip them.
How To Utilize Related Skills?
After unlocking the necessary skills, first throw your spear forward at an enemy, then cast Contagion to cause it to explode, spreading the debuff to the remaining enemies and killing them. If you use Frost Bomb against a boss, you'll gain additional elemental exposure.
By continuously casting the skills in this order, Explosive Spear, Frost Bomb, and Contagion, you can continuously control enemies and cause them to take damage. To achieve this, you'll need to consistently cast Explosive Spear and Contagion.
After casting Explosive Spear twice, the first spear will explode with the second, and Contagion will spread again, destroying enemies until you defeat the boss, The Rust King.
This will unlock your first Tier 3 gem, allowing you to equip Lightning Spear, replacing Explosive Spear in your rotation to deal lightning and fire damage.
How To Choose The Offhand Weapon?
Until the end of Act 3, your ideal offhand gear is Rattling Scepter, which grants you bonus Spirit. However, unlocking Herald of Thunder buff will be even better.
This skill ensures that after killing a stunned enemy, your Lightning Spear will always stun them, dealing bonus damage. As you progress, don't hesitate to choose Storm Lance when you unlock your first Tier 5 gem.
Fire three Storm Lance spells at the ground followed by an Explosive Spear to create a massive explosion for massive damage. Also, don't forget to utilize Elemental Armorman and the support gem Living Lightning.
How To Choose Passives?
In early-game combat, you need to absorb all the damage from enemy attacks while also dealing extra damage to them. Adding the necessary passives for bonus attack damage is crucial.
When you use Lightning Spear to quickly pierce through a group of enemies and apply bleeds, rare monsters will accumulate some bleed. You can use Blood Hunt to blast them, managing critical and inevitable critical to allow the bleed to deal true damage.
Note that from this point on, Frost Bomb will be replaced by Elemental Weakness, which requires a strong reveal effect and a longer duration. Therefore, your passive should further increase your attack damage against full-health enemies.
To this end, it's best to give Lightning Spear a larger blade on the first attack to deal more damage against rare and unique enemies and gain a significant attack damage bonus.
To achieve this, you'll need to maximize attack damage, creating a consistent damage output, and then gradually increase the bleeding effect - since all elemental damage is a bleeding magnitude.
While this guide is designed to help you utilize this build through the early stages of Patch 0.3.0, you can still choose this build after Act 3 and even the endgame, provided you've upgraded it to further enhance it.
We hope this guide is helpful as you play Path of Exile 2. We wish you all the best during your time in Rise of the Abyssal League!

Path Of Exile 2 Patch 0.3.0 Equipment Guide For Different Phases: How To Get Gear From Act 1 To Endgame?
Among the popular ARPGs, such as Diablo IV, Titan Quest II, Last Epoch, and Grim Dawn, Path of Exile series is undoubtedly the most complex, thanks to its incredibly complex equipment and skill systems. A guy who can master these two systems deserves a PhD.
Even if a player successfully completes Act 4 and reaches the endgame, they can't claim to have completely escaped beginner status. Many players will still stare blankly at their PoE 2 currency in their inventory, unsure of its purpose. Therefore, here's a gear guide for beginners from Act 1 to the endgame, making your exploration journey less of a prison sentence.
Act 1
All equipment dropped in Act 1 is white quality, meaning normal. You should only pick up normal equipment with higher base stats. Use Orb of Transmutation and Orb of Augmentation to upgrade them into blue magic gear, gaining useful affixes.
Also, it's best to use a reliable loot filter to highlight items that are useful to you. Some gear isn't usable by your class, so keeping it in your inventory just takes up space, and you'll have to discard it when you find something better, which is very time-consuming.
If you obtain magic (blue) or rare (yellow) items, you can directly compare them with your current gear and choose the one with the greater upgrade.
Also in Act 1, find NPC Yuna to disenchant rare gear for Regal Shards. These can be combined into Regal Orbs, which are used to upgrade blue gear to yellow gear and are one of the core currencies for crafting gear.
In Act 1, your talent tree can easily progress through the levels by focusing on damage nodes. Avoid critical hit-related nodes, as they don't yield much.
Acts 2-3
Act 2 may be a bit challenging at first, but your gear will naturally improve as you progress. Rudja, the Dread Engineer, is a particularly challenging boss in Act 2, so you'll need to prepare for this challenge.
Shop
Be sure to check the shop frequently, as the items are updated with each level. You can use the search function to find the keyword affixes you need. For weapons, focus on affixes that increase elemental and physical damage. For armor, focus on affixes that increase health, followed by armor, evasion, and energy shield. Movement speed affixes are also very important, but they typically only appear on boots.
Farming Currency
Mawdun Quarry area in Act 2 is a great place to farm Armorer's Scrap and Blacksmith's Whetstone early on. These upgrade your weapons and armor, and you can create new instances to farm them repeatedly.
Crafting Your Own Gear
Every player will eventually learn to craft their own gear in PoE 2, so don't worry about wasting your currency. Start by collecting some common gear (white) with decent affixes. Then, use Orb of Transmutation and Orb of Augmentation to transform them into magical items (blue). Finally, use a Regal Orb to upgrade them to rare items (yellow). If that's still not good enough, you can even add more affixes with PoE 2 Exalted Orb.
Also, remember to defeat all bosses on the map in Act 3, and this will permanently increase your character's stats.
Act 4
Patch 0.3.0 added Act 4. Upon reaching Act 4, you should first unlock the new trading system.
You'll need to accept Ange's quest, "Hostile Takeover." Once you complete the quest and own a Hideout, Ange will appear in Hideout and manage trading.
You can use Currency Exchange feature to convert lower-level currency into higher-level currency. Once you've set the item type and level range, you'll be able to find the items you need. If you need weapons, you can even sort by DPS.
But be careful not to be fooled by a gear with high DPS. Many high DPS items are simply inflated because of multiple damage modifiers and quality, and the actual benefit isn't as good as a weapon worth 1 Regal Orb but with solid modifiers.
If you're choosing from gear sold by other players, set a range based on your currency, for example, no more than 4 PoE 2 Exalted Orbs, and then look for the highest DPS within that range.
Endgame
The endgame will arrive soon after you complete Act 4, and this is the actual game begins, actually. The difficulty of the endgame is high, but the drops are far more valuable than those in the campaign, and some currencies are even only available in the endgame. Only during this period, you craft the gear that best suits your build.
Endgame maps have different tiers, and you need to reach higher-tier maps as quickly as possible, as the drops from higher-tier maps are far superior to those from lower-tier maps.
There are two major ways to increase map tiers:
- Defeating map bosses has a chance of obtaining higher-tier Waystone.
- Clearing Corruption Areas and completing each unique map for the first time earns Atlas Points, which are used to strengthen Atlas talent tree.
Initially, prioritize investing your Atlas points in nodes that increase Waystone drops, item rarity, and quantity.
Bosses also drop Precursor Tablets, which you use at Towers on the map. These tablets can be used to add affixes to the map within the tower's range, allowing it to contain more bosses or activities. This is the best way to get high tier Waystone quickly .
Other players also sell Precursor Tablets, so if you're short on tablets, you can trade with other players.
The above is a guide for beginners to selecting gear from Act 1 to the endgame in Patch 0.3.0 for PoE 2. Equipment in the game is primarily sourced through crafting. Remember, hoarding currency isn't necessary in the early stages, and you won't be able to hoard much. Currency's value lies in its conversion to gear strength, and hoarding it won't make you stronger.

Path Of Exile 2 Patch 0.3.0 Essence Farming Guide: How To Earn Currency Effectively?
POE 2 Patch 0.3.0 has begun, and besides returning veteran players, this update has also attracted a number of new players. A new league means a new economy. Before the season begins, besides finding the right builds, another important step is to farm PoE 2 currency.
POE 2 offers a wide variety of currencies, but their drop rates are low, so consistently farming a single currency requires a certain investment. Because of the changes in Patch 0.3.0, we recommend choosing Essence as it's currently in high demand, relatively easy to farm, and relatively low in investment.
What Is Essence?
Essence is a currency that adds specific prefixes or suffixes to your weapons or equipment. It comes in four different qualities:
- Lesser: Only worth using in story mode
- Normal: partially worth using
- Greater: Primarily used in the endgame
The above three essences are used on magic items to transform them into rare items and add a guaranteed affix.
- Perfect: Replaces a random affix on a rare item with the guaranteed affix of the perfect essence
Essence Value
Path of Exile 2 market is dynamic, and it's not the case that higher-quality Essences are equal to more PoE 2 Divine Orbs or Exalted Orbs (although this is generally accepted).
The value of Essences is determined by current market demand and factors like Divine Orbs inflation. Therefore, Essences obviously don't maintain a fixed value. Therefore, the following will show which Essences are worth farming and which nobody care. Note that this is only a guide, as the currency market fluctuates rapidly. It's best to check which Essences are currently in high demand before farming.
Low-Value Essences
- Greater Battle
- Greater Infinite
- Greater Mind
- Greater Body
- Greater Flame
- Greater Ice
- Greater Sorcery
- Greater Enhancement
- Greater Command
- Greater Seeking
- Greater Alacrity
- Greater Electricity
- Perfect Grounding
- Perfect Alacrity
- Perfect Infinite
- Essence of the Abyss
- Essence of Insanity
- Perfect Body
- Perfect Flame
- Perfect Insulation
- Perfect Ice
- Perfect Thawing
- Perfect Mind
- Perfect Enhancement
- Perfect Seeking
Medium Value Essences
- Greater Insulation
- Greater Thawing
- Greater Grounding
- Greater Abrasion
- Essence of Delirium
- Perfect Ruin
- Perfect Command
- Perfect Opulence
- Perfect Abrasion
- Perfect Electricity
High Value Essences
- Greater Haste
- Greater Ruin Greater Opulence
- Perfect Sorcery
- Perfect Haste
- Perfect Battle
- Essence of Horror
- Essence of Hysteria
Farming Strategy
This strategy relies on gambling with Vaal Orbs, upgrading or converting low-value Essences into higher-value Essences. To earn PoE 2 Divine Orbs this way, you'll need to farm Essence monsters and also prepare a number of Vaal Orbs.
A Vaal Orb can perform one of 5 effects on a group of Essences:
- No effect: Waste a Vaal Orb.
- Add a random Essence.
- Re-roll all Essences (changing types within the same level).
- Increase the quality of Essences or convert Perfect Essences into Corrupted Essences.
- Instantly release Essence Monsters.
As long as Essence you see isn't one of the top-tier, valuable Essences like Perfect Essence of Battle, it's worth a gamble with a Vaal Orb.
For low-value Essences, it's definitely worth the gamble; even if you lose, it won't be too much, and if it improves, you win a lot. For mid-value Essences, you can either gamble or keep it for your own use.
High-value Perfect Essences can also be gambled with a Vaal Orb, as there's a chance they can be transformed into a more valuable Corrupted Essence.
If you encounter a group of multiple high-value Essences, it's best not to gamble; simply take the money and walk away, and using a Vaal Orb might result in a loss.
If you encounter a group of multiple low-value Perfect Essences, absolutely use a Vaal Orb, as the potential reward from upgrading to a Corrupted Essence is extremely high, potentially earning you several Divine Orbs.
Processing Essences
For low-value Essences with absolutely no market demand, you can use the in-game 3:1 exchange feature to exchange three low-level Essences of the same type for one random higher-level Essence. This is inherently a gamble, and there's a chance you'll get something more valuable.
Atlas Talent Tree
The core talent in Atlas talent tree is Crystal Realm, which grants the area containing the map boss an additional Essence.
Other talent nodes that increase the chance of Essence appearing are useful, but don't need to be maxed out past 100%. Universal talent nodes that grant random bonuses may also contain Essence and are worth considering.
You can also use additional Essence-enhancing Tablets, which are worth around 50 PoE 2 Exalted Orbs, which is a negligible amount compared to the currency earned.
The rarity and number of maps do not affect the amount of Essence, but do affect the quantity and quality of other items dropped by Essence monsters after killing them.
While this has no effect on Essence itself, it's still recommended to run maps with more affixes, as the bosses themselves will drop more valuable rare items, which can help cover the consume of the map and increase overall returns.
This is a rough guide to farming Essence. Some players might consider gambling with Vaal orbs risky, but this game is full of gambling. Furthermore, this method is relatively easy to implement, allowing you to integrate it into other gameplay strategies like Breach and Delirium, rather than focusing solely on farming Essence.

Path Of Exile 2 Patch 0.3.0 New Auto-Trade System Unlocking: Which Quests Do You Need To Complete?
While farming is the primary way to earn loot in PoE 2, you can also trade with others to more quickly obtain those drops you've always eluded, or to sell any excess items you've acquired.
Before the release of Patch 0.3.0, the trading system in Path of Exile 2 performed its basic functions, and the actual experience was limited by its lack of automatic functionality. Thankfully, this patch has updated this.
As a result, you can now more easily and conveniently sell excess items in The Third Edict using Auto-Trade system to earn PoE 2 currency. However, the system isn't activated immediately; it requires completing a series of prerequisite quests.
This time we will explain how to complete these quests, specifically defeating the crucial boss, Diamora.
Enter Act 4 And Find Ange
Ange is the key NPC for unlocking Auto-Trade system and receiving the corresponding quests, but you can only find her after entering Act 4. The steps are as follows:
- 1. Enter Act 4 and go to the central hub, Kingsmarch.
- 2. Find the well near Rog's shop.
- 3. Find Ange and interact with her to receive Hostile Takeover quest.
Travel To Whakapanu Island
The key to Hostile Takeover quest is defeating the boss, Diamora, the Song of Death, located in Singing Caverns, an area of Whakapanu Islands.
To reach this location, you must first complete Ship Charter quest in the main storyline. This quest requires you to find Makoru, who will help you obtain the ship needed to sail.
When you first arrive on the island, you'll encounter some monsters around level 46-48. You'll need to defeat them while exploring the island to find the boss, as the map is always random. It's generally easier to find in the northwest of the archipelago.
Defeat Diamora, The Song Of Death
As a key boss in Act 4, Diamora's attacks are mostly cold-damaging, so you'll need to equip gear with cold resistance. Furthermore, your resistance will decrease over time during the fight, so it's safe to aim for at least 30% or 40% resistance.
To achieve this, it's recommended to consume currency on a Sapphire Ring for cold resistance and add the corresponding runes and gems to your armor. This will increase your cold resistance to around 60%.
Phase 1
This boss fight consists of three phases. In the first minute or two of Phase 1, Diamora won't attack much, so you can focus on dealing as much damage as possible by avoiding her summoned tornadoes and dodging her arm thrusts.
Then the boss will slide off the edge of the map and periodically jump out of the arena. During this time, a tornado wall will form behind her, so be sure to avoid it.
Phase 2
When the boss's health reaches approximately three-quarters, she will enter the center of the arena, triggering Phase 2. During this phase, she will create a wide-area gaze effect, which you must avoid by avoiding Diamora.
During this phase, the boss herself will not directly damage you, but she will summon minions. These minions deal significant additional damage, which stacks over time.
In addition, during Phase 2, the statues at the edge of the arena will begin creating a Petrifying Gaze effect, which will root you in place. You must avoid them.
Phase 3
After the gaze ends, Diamora returns to her regular combat mode and Phase 3 begins. The key to this phase is to kill the boss quickly, otherwise she may activate her gaze again.
During this phase, the boss will summon multiple bubbles that move around the arena. Do not stand in or touch them, as this will inflict Drowning debuff. If you receive three Drowning debuffs, you will die instantly.
So, you'll need to keep attacking Diamora while dodging bubbles until you finally kill her.
Return To Ange To Unlock Shoreline Hideout
After defeating Diamora, the Song of Death, you can teleport back to Kingsmarch and interact with Ange again. She will grant you access to Shoreline Hideout.
Not only can you rest here, but Ange will also serve as your trade manager. You can sell items, and Ange will handle the transaction for you while you're offline.
How Do You Set Up Automatic Trading?
To enable Ange to work automatically, first obtain a merchant tab from the micro-transaction shop, or convert an existing premium tab to obtain one.
Once you've done that, place the items you want to sell into the tab, and Ange will handle the transaction for you while you're offline or completing quests.
Overall, unlocking this system isn't difficult. The only slightly tricky part is Diamora, the Song of Death boss fight. However, with the appropriate gear and a good understanding of her combat patterns, it's easily manageable.
The above is PoE 2 guide provided for you this time. I hope it will be helpful for you to play the game! Have fun!

Path Of Exile 2 Patch 0.3.0 Winners And Losers: Which Builds Will Rise?
Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.3.0 has arrived. Players may not have the patience to read through the lengthy update from beginning to end. But I'm sure you're all very curious about whether the dominance of Lightning Spear Amazon build from 0.2.0 will return.
This will require us to see what buffs and nerfs patch 0.3.0 brings to various abilities, and which mechanics have received significant adjustments this season. So, let's take a look at which builds will rise and which will be nerfed in patch 0.3.0.
Nerf Skills
Lightning Spear
First, Lightning Spear Amazon. It dominated the entire endgame in 0.2.0, surpassing other builds by a significant margin. In 0.3.0, its key skill, Lightning Spear, has been nerfed. Secondary projectiles are now fixed at 5 (previously 3-8 with level), and the 50% increased damage when consuming a Frenzy Charge has been removed.
This nerf significantly reduces the build's damage by approximately 40-50%, especially in terms of single-target burst, but has little impact on the speed of farming. Lightning Spear Amazon has essentially lost its status as a Tier S build, but if you're willing to invest significant POE 2 currency in it to build the right affixes, it can still deliver decent damage.
Incinerate
Incinerate received a skill rework in patch 0.3.0, requiring mana to acquire Fuel resource to activate, and no longer granting Burning Ground by default. Builds that relied on its Burning Ground to trigger Whirling Slash were severely impacted, and those who wanted to continue this playstyle would need to find a replacement for Incinerate or simply not play at all.
Infernal Cry
Many builds have added Infernal Cry to their skill list because it provides a significant amount of additional fire damage to melee builds. It's a very useful skill against non-boss enemies.
Patch 0.3.0 adjusted its damage. In previous leagues, this skill provided a fire bonus of approximately 150%, but now it only provides a bonus of around 60%. Despite the damage reduction, this skill is still usable.
Enhanced Skills
Arc
Arc is now a projectile, with increased chain attacks and a 50% increase in shock intensity. It can consume Lightning Infusion for additional buffs. Overall, this skill has great potential after the rework. As a projectile, it can stack a lot of damage and could be very effective when paired with Dead Eye, potentially increasing both map clearing and single-target damage.
Lightning Rod
Lightning Rod quality upgrade has changed from increasing the explosion radius to a chance to cause an additional explosion (maximum 20%). This is a wonderful change, as the increase in explosion radius isn't noticeable, but the single-target damage increase is significant, benefiting bow builds.
Storm Wave
Storm Wave now slightly hits enemies on either side of the character. This slight change significantly improves its feel and clearing efficiency, making it a fantastic addition for Monk players.
Contagion
Contagion received a similar rework to Lightning Rod. As its quality increases, its effect shifts from increasing debuff damage to granting additional infected targets. This skill allows Witches and Mercenaries to benefit from Chaos Damage Over Time builds, improving the efficiency of farming PoE 2 currency.
Comet
Comet's base damage has been increased by approximately 20%. This is a significant improvement compared to other skills that receive direct stat buffs, primarily because of the impact on critical strike. These buffs act as compensation for the impact on critical strikes.
Ascendancy Class Changes
Blood Mage Witch
Sanguimancy passive node can now be freely allocated (saving 2 Ascendancy points). Additionally, Life Remnants spawn on hits and critical strikes, making it more likely that a Blood Mage Witch's health will be depleted.
The new node, Whispers of the Flesh, grants cursed enemies 15% health, which is actually a significant change, as keeping the curse active allows you to trigger other auras, increasing your damage.
Blood Mage Witch was already a strong contender in League, and this change directly benefits it with a significant direct damage increase, convenience, and talent point savings, making it one of the biggest winners of 0.3.0.
Gemling Legionnaire
Advanced Thaumaturgy Notable Passive now automatically generates red/green/blue orbs based on skill stat requirements;
Gem Studded Notable now provides powerful bonuses based on socket color (cost reduction, movement skill penalty reduction, critical damage reduction, etc.).
These changes transform Gemling Legionnaire from a utility talent into a more practical and powerful one, providing significant sustain and flexible buffs, potentially opening up new playstyles in patch 0.3.0.
Lich
Price of Power Notable Passive node now grants 40% more damage (up from 25%) and no longer excludes channeled skills. This simple change gives spell-based Lich builds a straightforward, massive damage boost.
Smith Of Kitava
Smith of Kitava's defenses saw nerfs to several of its core stats, such as the removal of its maximum fire resistance bonus and reduced health regeneration. This significantly reduced the tank of Ascendancy class, making it one loser in this patch.
Global Mechanic Adjustments
Besides changes to skills and sublime classes, this patch also has some significant global impacts. Critical damage modifiers have been reduced, with some weapons' critical damage modifiers dropping from 40% to 25%. This lowers the damage ceiling for all builds that rely on crit, making them vulnerable early on.
Furthermore, the block cap has been set to 50%, likely related to the new defensive mechanic, Deflect. Deflect's effect is similar to Spell Suppression from PoE 1, but applies to all types of hit damage. Players can convert a portion of their dodge value into deflection. Deflection chance can be stacked up to 100%, reducing hit damage and associated status effects by 40% upon success.
In Patch 0.3.0, bow and spell-based builds are the clear winners. Monks haven't been nerfed, and in fact, have become stronger. Some new PoE 2 currency has also been added, making it easier for players to craft their own gear. Lightning Spear builds, Incinerate Slash builds, and warriors who focus solely on blocking have all been nerfed. The remaining builds are up to the players' research and development.

Path Of Exile 2 Patch 0.3.0 Desecrated Items And Well Of Souls: How Do They Relate?
With the release of patch 0.3.0, The Third Edict, on August 29th, Path of Exile 2 has added a host of new content, enriching gameplay while also providing you with more farmable resources and corresponding farming methods.
To quickly advance your character in the new leagues, you'll need to take advantage of these new items and mechanics to earn more POE 2 currency to enhance your character and gear.
One of the most noteworthy items is Desecrated items. These items can enhance your gear or Waystones in unique ways, but for them to work, you must first visit Well of Souls.
This article explains the specific relationship between these two items and other related information.
What Are Desecrated Items?
These items, newly introduced by The Third Edict, provide powerful new modifiers for your gear or enhance Waystones, giving you additional benefits while exploring the map and other league content during the new leagues.
How To Get This Item?
Desecrated items are obtained in two steps. First, you need to farm Abyssal Fissures to obtain Abyssal Currencies, which typically take the form of bones from various Abyssal enemies.
Next, you need to apply this special currency to your regular rare items, converting them into Desecrated items to obtain a hidden modifier. The currently available currencies and their functions are:
- Gnawed Jawbone: Desecrates a Rare Weapon or Quiver
- Preserved Jawbone: Desecrates a Rare Weapon or Quiver
- Ancient Jawbone: Desecrates a Rare Weapon or Quiver
- Gnawed Rib: Desecrates a Rare Armor
- Preserved Rib: Desecrates a Rare Armor
- Ancient Rib: Desecrates a Rare Armor
- Gnawed Collarbone: Desecrates a Rare Amulet, Ring or Belt
- Preserved Collarbone: Desecrates a Rare Amulet, Ring or Belt
- Ancient Collarbone: Desecrates a Rare Amulet, Ring or Belt
- Preserved Cranium: Desecrates a Rare Jewel
- Preserved Vertebrae: Desecrates a Rare Waystone
Note that this newly added modifier is initially inactive. You must visit Well of Souls, infuse acquired bones into gear or Waystones, and then reveal them through Well of Souls to activate the modifier's effect.
While Abyssal Currencies offer a limited variety of options, they uniquely reduce the randomness of re-rolling modifiers for gear, allowing you to more directly enhance your gear without consuming additional base currency.
How To Find Well Of Souls?
After creating your Rise of the Abyssal League character, you'll need to complete Act 1 in the main campaign, then progress to recreating Horn of the Vastiri as you explore Act 2.
Next, continue on to Mastodon Badlands and strive to find Lightless Passage. To do this, carefully explore the edges of the map and locate a hidden, downward-sloping path, typically located in the southwest of the area.
When you see a distinctive archway marked by a giant tusk, you can pass through it and enter the dark path leading to Lightless Passage, where you'll enter a dungeon.
This dungeon is extremely dangerous, with countless monster hordes and dangerous, rare enemies lurking in the darkness. While clearing all monsters will yield currency and other resource drops, remember that your goal is to find Well of Souls.
So don't get hung up on it; simply keep pushing forward, protecting yourself, until you see the entrance to Well of Souls.
After completing your initial exploration, the waypoints in this area will be permanently unlocked, allowing you to easily travel back and forth to Well of Souls via the map.
What Should You Do After Entering Here?
Once you enter Well of Souls, you'll encounter Lurking Creature. Interacting with it will trigger a story involving a character called The Hooded One, who will help you understand Lurking Creature's language and communicate with it.
Completing this interaction grants you permanent access to Well of Souls' features. It will then become a dedicated crafting station, similar to a hideout, allowing you to quickly access it when you need to modify new gear.
What Does Well Of Souls Do?
Here, you can reveal and apply Desecrated modifiers, earned through Abyssal Currency, to rare gear.
These modifiers are initially hidden on the item in unreadable green text. Placing an item in a Well of Souls container will trigger a ritual offering three different modifier options, which you can choose from.
Note that once you select and confirm a modifier, Abyssal Currency can no longer be used on that item, making the buffs granted to the gear permanent and unchangeable.
Selecting a modifier allows you to add general modifiers to gear, allowing you to upgrade faster through combat and making it easier to acquire gear with specific stat rolls.
Adding modifiers to Waystones, on the other hand, allows you to infuse new Waystones with new modifiers in the endgame, increasing the challenge level and earning more rewards.
In short, Desecrated items are new items that enhance your gear in Rise of the Abyssal League. To function, they must be activated and selected through a ritual in Well of Souls.
That concludes our introduction. We hope this helps you become stronger in Patch 0.3.0! We wish you the best of luck in your League adventures!
