Path Of Exile 2: What Will Be The Effect Of The Planned Currency Changes?
Category: Path Of Exile 2 Posted: Aug 03, 2023 Views: 4374
On the last day of ExileCon 2023, we found out that there have been a lot of changes to the currency in Path Of Exile 2. Unfortunately, this isn’t limited to just their cosmetic changes, some currencies are disappearing entirely.
Changing The Way Crafting Works
Alterations that disappear just like this Orb of Scouring. This means you can’t force a decent magic base on an item and then build it with other POE2 Currency. This also means that if you throw away an excellent base and mod, that base is now useless. Because you can’t get it down to zero and start building it up again. This will be a tremendous change in the way crafting works.
But it also means that the gear you drop will be more valuable than it was before they noticed it. They don’t want to change the way transactions are done, which will mean more blue items being traded. But I’m not expecting changes other than Chaos Orb, as they will work completely differently.
When we hit an item with a Chaos Orb, it re-rolls all mods. So all the mods fall off, and then a random set of mods gets turned back on in Path Of Exile 2. It will take one mod and delete it, then replace it with a new one. So, Chaos Orb is now a kind of Orb of Annulment.

Affects Item Drops
Now I fully understand why these changes were made. Because it made the item drops more impactful. But there are a few enormous problems.
First, through the first Item Filters, they look at the item base, but they don’t see the roll down item. This means that using Item Filters can actually get you into trouble.
Another problem I’ve seen has nothing to do with the item. When we drop the map, it has map sustain, and it physically reflects it. Also, we couldn’t run our character properly.
So all we have to do is block the item, which is no longer an option. We’ll probably hit it with a Chaos Orb to refresh everything that isn’t viable. Although we may have gotten lucky and removed Damage reflection. But there may be other mods here that we want to get rid of, like Cannot Leech. This is going to be extremely expensive.
Influencing The Crafting Of Cartographer’s Chisel
We now also need to consider the effect on Cartographer’s Chisel when we drop a Magic map. Normally, when we drop these currency items, we can restore them to a valid, perfect state. But if my Magic map is not enough, I will stop using the map. Because I have no control over how the map falls. This isn’t directly tied to currency changes, but can heavily affect crafting.

Other Changes
Currently, they are removing Crafting Bench from POE 2. Therefore, it will become more difficult for us to make perfect Endgame items. Because without Crafting Bench, we would start endless exploration.
Now, they intend to make town vendors play a bigger role in fixing buildings and small things. But I’ve had a lot of unpleasant experiences getting decent items from Vendor early in the game, and your Vendor won’t fix the map either.
These changes may affect SSF players more than any other change. Because they have to craft all POE 2 Items. Even though you play trade league, it affects SSF players more than others.
Anyway, that’s my guess as to how the currency changes in POE 2 might affect the game itself. I’m afraid that this will affect my gaming experience with POE 2. What do you think about this change? Let us wait quietly.

Still Playing Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0 and Looking for Better Experience? Top 5 Gemling Legionnaire Builds Are Game-Changers!
It has been exactly two months since the launch of Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0. Have you moved on to the fresher Path of Exile 3.29, or do you plan to keep diving deep into Return of the Ancients? If it's the latter, trying out new builds will add even more fun to your PoE 2 experience!
While many Ascendancy Classes have performed well in Patch 0.5.0, Gemling Legionnaire has become more popular than ever thanks to recent changes, attracting many players to focus on it during Runes of Aldur league.
With that in mind, you might be inclined to craft and play new Gemling Legionnaire builds. Here, based on the current state of PoE 2, we introduce five reliable builds for you:
- Frost Wall Curse Build
- Glacial Lance Build
- Explosive Grenade Build
- Critical Arc Build
- Flicker Strike Build

5. Frost Wall Curse Build
If you prefer building a solid, reliable Gemling Legionnaire character over taking risks, Frost Wall Curse Build is an excellent choice.
This build doesn't rely on raw damage to overwhelm enemies; instead, it controls every battle through Frost Wall, curse effects, Energy Shield bonuses, and multiple defensive mechanisms.
In combat, this build keeps enemies frozen, slowed, or weakened for the majority of the time. Once you master the mechanics, you can easily tackle high-difficulty content.
Furthermore, because Frost Wall Curse Build prioritizes stability over speed, it offers a comfortable and forgiving experience once you reach the endgame.
While Frost Wall Curse Build might not instantly delete top-tier bosses, it maintains superior control during prolonged fights.
It also performs very well during the early-game progression phase if you choose it for your next alt character in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0, as its survivability stems from its mechanics rather than rare unique items.
However, you can also swap gear directly, or buy PoE 2 currency on IGGM to reroll modifiers so that improve the quality of your existing equipment, further enhance the build's damage or defense ability.
All in all, the build's only downsides are lower burst damage and slower clear speeds. But if you don't mind that, it is a very safe and reliable choice.
4. Glacial Lance Build
The strength of this Gemling Legionnaire build lies in its excellent ranged combat capabilities, allowing you to freeze enemies before they can get close.
Its core skill, Glacial Lance, pierces through groups of enemies with powerful cold damage; combined with critical hit bonuses and cold penetration, it remains highly reliable even when facing formidable foes.
Like Frost Wall Curse build, Glacial Lance build has low initial gear requirements, allowing for easy crafting at the start and giving you the flexibility to decide whether to upgrade further based on your needs.
More importantly, the build offers great clear speed, making it ideal for farming PoE 2 currency in maps densely populated with enemies. While its speed may have slight limitations, the overall performance is outstanding.
3. Explosive Grenade Build
This build creates chain explosions during combat, offering not only high lethality but also spectacular visual effects.
This is largely because Explosive Grenade synergizes with Oil Grenade, Gas Grenade, Cluster Grenade, and Artillery Ballista to deal devastating AoE damage, instantly wiping out hordes of enemies.
This stacking grenade strategy remains highly effective even against elite enemies and Uber bosses. Additionally, Explosive Grenade build is capable of effective attacks from long range.
While delivering massive firepower, this Path of Exile 2 build also offers strong defensive capabilities and survivability. Although its raw defense might not match Frost Wall Curse build, it excels due to its superior all-around performance.
2. Critical Arc Build
This is a spell-based Gemling Legionnaire build. Arc serves as a primary damage skill that doesn't require manual casting; instead, critical hits continuously trigger powerful lightning spells, allowing you to deal constant damage while maneuvering.
In addition to Arc, skills like Lightning Warp, Ball Lightning, and Explosive Transmutation are essential; combining them creates an incredibly fluid damage rotation that scales effectively as your gear improves.
By leveraging mechanics such as critical hit chance, cooldown recovery, spell damage, and energy shield, Critical Arc Build boasts an extremely high spell damage ceiling.
If you want the ultimate PoE 2 Gemling Legionnaire spell-casting experience, this is the build to choose.
1. Flicker Strike Build
In fact, this build emerged as a popular choice for Gemling Legionnaire shortly after the launch of Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0, and it remains incredibly powerful two months later.
This build allows you to teleport continuously between enemies while dealing massive critical strike damage at lightning speed; consequently, it excels in close-quarters combat.
Ranked first on our list, this build boasts impressive capabilities in both defense and damage output. The only minor drawback is that it requires rare, high-quality gear and significant upgrades to fully unlock its potential.
If you possess such gear but aren't sure how best to craft it, why not join PoE 1 & 2 currency giveaways in IGGM Facebook Group? You could win a rare Mirror of Kalandra to duplicate your target item for whenever you might need it!
More importantly, Flicker Strike Build doesn't hit a performance ceiling once your gear or other stats reach a certain level. You can continue to enhance the build's performance as you progress through Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0, the growth potential is immense.
Conclusion
These are the five Gemling Legionnaire builds we recommend based on the current Path of Exile 2 game environment. You can choose the one that appeals to you based on its characteristics, or use these ideas as a springboard to craft even more playstyles!

No Mirror Gear Needed: Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0 Glacial Lance Spirit Walker is the Budget King of Mapping & Bossing
Players, from now on, we can no longer ignore Spirit Walker ascendancy class in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0. We can now achieve a balance between map clearing efficiency and burst damage without using exorbitantly priced gear, placing Glacial Lance Spirit Walker among the top builds.
If you're not satisfied with your current build, take a look at how this Glacial Lance Spirit Walker build has become a king of PoE 2 battlefield.
Core Mechanics
This Glacial Lance Spirit Walker build revolves around Glacial Lance and Primal Strikes skills. In Patch 0.5.0, thanks to adjustments to projectile mechanics, Glacial Lance's map clearing efficiency has been significantly improved.
With enhanced projectile speed, range, and penetration, Glacial Lance is no longer like a small spear, but rather a high-speed, cold projectile that covers a large area of the screen and chains through groups of monsters, making your map clearing process incredibly smooth.
Meanwhile, the second core skill, Primal Strikes, is specifically designed to handle rare monsters and bosses, providing powerful single-target burst damage.
The entire Glacial Lance Spirit Walker build doesn't require top-tier Mirror Tier gear to be effective. Players can clearly feel the build's map clearing speed and raiding capabilities, making it a highly competitive choice in the game.

Skill Gem Usage
Glacial Lance Spirit Walker's main map-clearing skill, Glacial Lance, is linked to the following gems:
- Longshot II Support Gem
- Elemental Armament II Support Gem
- Projectile Acceleration III Support Gem
- Ice Bite II Support Gem
- Perpetual Charge Support Gem
Primal Strikes, the main single-target damage skill, is linked to the following gems:
- Close Combat II Support Gem
- Elemental Armament III Support Gem
- Rage III Support Gem
- Concentrated Area Support Gem
- Pinpoint Critical Support Gem
Additionally, Primal Strikes' three-hit combo, combined with Shock state, can unleash Vivid Stampede for massive burst damage, which is one of the reasons we chose it as Glacial Lance Spirit Walker's core skill.
This build also utilizes some very important Support Skills, which also require specific gems. For example, Glacial Lance Spirit Walker's starting skill, Hand of Chayula:
- Freezing Mark Support Gem
- Mark of Siphoning II Support Gem
- Electrocute Support Gem
Thunder Storm, primarily used to supplement Shock effects:
- Prolonged Duration II Support Gem
- Overcharge Support Gem
- Comiserate Support Gem
- Magnified Area II Support Gem
War Banner, providing a powerful attack buff to our build:
- Prolonged Duration II Support Gem
- Expanse Support Gem
- Magnified Area II Support Gem
Passive Skill Tree Distribution
Players should ideally level their Glacial Lance Spirit Walker to approximately 72 in Path of Exile 2 and complete at least six Ascendancy trials before fully utilizing this build; otherwise, the gameplay may not feel as smooth.
We need to prioritize acquiring primary damage nodes for Glacial Lance Spirit Walker in Passive Skill Tree, then obtain Evasion-related nodes along the way, extending towards Critical skills up to around level 90.
Once the external path is connected, we can reset some internal connection nodes and secondary damage nodes to improve efficiency.
The first primary node, Vivid Stampede, is the cornerstone of Glacial Lance Spirit Walker's single-target damage; its Shock mechanism is a prerequisite for Primal Strikes bursts.
Next, we need Primal Bounty to improve Spirit Walker's map clearing feel and to provide Primal Power every few seconds, enhancing Glacial Lance's projectile effects and speed.
Considering the defensive bonus and unlocking subsequent Sacred Unity, Wild Protector is also a must-have node.
Ultimately, we recommend selecting The Morrigan's Guidance, which provides Glacial Lance Spirit Walker with more Shock Magnitude to better handle boss encounters in PoE 2 Patch 0.5.0.
Attribute Priority
Prioritize Dexterity for attributes, but continue adjusting Strength and Intelligence based on gem requirements.
Once Glacial Lance Spirit Walker's Dexterity reaches approximately 157, we can gradually shift our focus to Intelligence to support skills like Elemental Weakness, while also preparing for the later Energy Shield build.
Gear Selection
Weapon
Weapon is crucial for this Glacial Lance Spirit Walker build, and the best choice is unique Grand Spear: The Ordained. Its high base physical and lightning damage, base Critical Hit Chance, and lightning leech stats perfectly complement our build.
For the transition period, you can use any high-DPS Grand Spear, but prioritize Critical Hit Chance, skill level, and physical or elemental damage.
Off-hand
Here, we can choose Stoic Scepter or Omanga Scepter. Sacred Flame is a higher-end choice if you have sufficient currency.
Additionally, there are currently PoE 2 Patch 0.5 Mirror of Kalandra free giveaways on IGGM Facebook. You can participate and see if you can create more powerful gear for your Glacial Lance Spirit Walker!
Second Weapon Set
Use Quarterstaff to ensure smooth casting of Hand of Chayula. Shock effects and skill level bonuses are icing on the cake, but don't invest too many resources in them too early.
Armor
There's nothing special about the chest armor, but it's best to prioritize Evasion while also pursuing Deflection and Resistance.
For Glacial Lance Spirit Walker's helmet, you can choose one with Life and Resistance, but The Black Insignia will be more suitable later in the build.
Gloves and boots should also prioritize Life and Resistance, but boots should focus more on Movement Speed.
Trinkets
Stack Life as much as possible on your amulet, then you can choose one with +3 melee rating depending on your budget.
If you decide to use The Ordained, you'll need a ring with Life leech.
As for belts, Ingenuity Utility Belt is decent with full resistances, but later on, it's best to aim for Headhunter or other unique belts.
If your budget can't support the above gear, you can buy PoE 2 currency from IGGM.com to create a complete build for Glacial Lance Spirit Walker!
Defense Systems
This build's defense relies on the damage reduction provided by Evasion, Deflection, and Wild Protector, Life leech, and the additional protection after transitioning to Energy Shield later.
The skills Wind Dancer and auxiliary effects like Blind and Knockback further enhance Glacial Lance Spirit Walker's survivability.
The overall number of buttons is moderate, maintaining the build's responsiveness without being overly cumbersome.
Glacial Lance Spirit Walker build doesn't rely on expensive starting gear and has plenty of single-target burst damage, so if you enjoy playing Huntress class in PoE 2 Patch 0.5.0, you definitely shouldn't miss this build!

Path of Exile 2 0.5.0 Insane Screen-Clear Grim Pillars Oracle Build: Low-Budget Juiced Grand Expedition Speed Farmer
Veteran players will know that farming highly juiced Grand Expedition is one of the most rewarding but also most challenging endgame content in Path of Exile 2 patch 0.5.0.
As Remnant modifiers stack and rune propagation spreads across consecutive Expedition zones, monsters gain staggering damage output and durability. For players lacking the thousands of Exalted Orbs or Divine Orbs required for top-tier unique items, this escalating difficulty can often feel insurmountable.
However, Grim Pillars Oracle build proves that you can reliably tackle high-difficulty Expedition content without spending a fortune. By combining a safe, totem-based playstyle with Energy Shield stacking and clever skill synergies, this build delivers high performance on a reasonable budget.
Of course, the definition of budget-friendly varies from player to player; yet, in the current 0.5.0 Expedition landscape, being able to confidently farm this content for under 1,000 POE 2 Divine Orbs makes this one of the most cost-effective options available.

Core Gameplay
At its core, Grim Pillars Oracle is a straightforward yet powerful totem caster. Instead of putting your character directly in harm's way, you deploy totems that channel Grim Pillars into the target area, generating ice structures on the ground and dealing massive Cold damage.
However, these Grim Pillars can sometimes trap you or block your movement. To solve this, the build incorporates Entangle and Morrigan's Insight to consume Freeze status and instantly detonate the ice structures. This cycle of placing totems and shattering ice pillars allows you to instantly clear large groups of enemies while keeping your path unobstructed.
The playstyle is incredibly comfortable and safe, requiring minimal button inputs. You simply place spell totems near monster spawn points, periodically cast Entangle to support them, and let the totems systematically wipe out wave after wave of Expedition monsters.
Thanks to the synergy between Oracle Ascendancy and Ancestral Bond passive skill, which significantly increases the maximum number of active totems, you can easily maintain six totems on the battlefield simultaneously, wreaking havoc on all monsters.
How to stack defenses?
However, keep in mind that tackling high-difficulty Grand Expedition content in PoE 2 requires a robust defensive setup.
Grim Pillars Oracle build utilizes a Chaos Inoculation setup, converting all Life into Energy Shield while granting complete immunity to Chaos damage and bleed effects.
Defensive strength is primarily achieved by maximizing flat Energy Shield on key armor pieces and utilizing percentage-based Energy Shield bonuses on the amulet. This straightforward gear configuration pushes the total Energy Shield (ES) above 8,000, providing a massive buffer against elemental and physical damage.
To complement this high ES pool, the build features a very short Energy Shield recharge delay (approximately two seconds) and rapid passive recharge rates.
In critical situations where passive recharge is interrupted by overwhelming monster density, Convalescence skill serves as an emergency recovery tool. Activating Convalescence instantly restores ES, allowing you to survive dangerous bursts of damage even when facing swarms of Expedition monsters.
Additionally, suffix modifiers on rare armor and your off-hand scepter make it easy to hit resistance caps, ensuring full mitigation of elemental damage without restricting your choice of offensive gear.
Offensive Mechanics and Gem Setup
The core offensive mechanic of Grim Pillars Oracle build relies on a Level 21 corrupted Grim Pillars gem linked to Spell Totem Support. Support gems like Urgent Totems and Efficiency reduce mana costs and increase deployment speed, ensuring all six totems can be placed in rapid succession.
Furthermore, Vorana's Siege significantly boosts single-target burst damage against highly durable Expedition elites and bosses.
Rakiata's Flow is a crucial offensive enhancement in the gem setup; it substantially increases Cold damage output, raising overall DPS to a level capable of easily defeating Expedition monsters buffed by multiple Remnants.
Meanwhile, utility and aura setups have been optimized for maximum efficiency without excessive Spirit consumption. Purity of Ice, combined with Clarity and Mysticism Support, shores up resistances and maintains mana levels without requiring additional Spirit.
If you have leftover Spirit after reserving it for your totems, you can utilize utility skills like Convalescence or Arctic Armour to further boost overall survivability and Energy Shield recovery; feel free to mix and match based on your personal preference.
Gear Selection and Budget Prioritization
To effectively gear Grim Pillars Oracle build in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0, you need to strike a balance between core damage stats, Spirit, Energy Shield (ES), and Magic Find.
For the main-hand weapon, the ideal choice is a Rare Cold Wand featuring modifiers such as bonuses to Cold spell levels, spell critical hit chance, cast speed, and flat added elemental damage.
Cast speed is particularly crucial, as it accelerates both totem placement and the attack frequency of Grim Pillars themselves.
The off-hand scepter should prioritize obtaining the highest possible flat Spirit to easily support your maximum totem count; secondary stats like Intelligence or Mana Regeneration serve as nice-to-have optimizations.
The chest armor is the cornerstone of your defensive setup, requiring high base Energy Shield, Spirit, and elemental resistances.
Rings and gloves should feature modifiers related to spell damage, cast speed, critical strikes, and Energy Shield.
Notably, Grim Pillars Oracle is a top-tier choice for rapid Expedition clearing, not just due to its high DPS and mobility, but because it allows you to easily stack Item Rarity on gear slots like the amulet, rings, and gloves without sacrificing core combat performance.
Pushing Item Rarity above 100% ensures maximized returns of PoE 2 currency, Logbooks, and high-value base items during Expedition farming, making this build a highly efficient and profitable dedicated farmer.

Among all gear pieces, Headhunter Heavy Belt is the single most critical item for highly juiced Grand Expedition farming and represents the largest portion of the gear budget.
As Remnant modifiers stack, monster difficulty spikes dramatically; Headhunter allows you to steal modifiers from rare monsters upon killing them, exponentially boosting your movement speed, defenses, and damage output as Expedition progresses.
Pairing this with Rite of Passage Golden Charm further enhances combat fluidity by providing bonuses to skill speed, movement speed, and added lightning damage.
However, as a highly sought-after item in Path of Exile 2, Headhunter belt consistently commands a high market price. If you urgently need a piece to start speedrunning but don't have enough budget, you can follow IGGM Facebook POE 2 group and participate in the latest Mirror of Kalandra giveaway. You might just be one of the lucky winners, more than enough to secure a Headhunter of your own!
Ascendancy and Passive Tree Progression
Oracle Ascendancy serves as the ideal foundation for this build, offering unparalleled passive synergies for totem-based cold casters.
Its skill nodes not only increase the maximum number of totems, directly supporting a six-totem setup, but also provide significant boosts to critical strike chance, skill speed, and movement speed. Combined with Inevitable Critical Hits mechanic, this Ascendancy ensures that Grim Pillars consistently land powerful critical hits on frozen and chilled enemies.
The core path of the passive tree covers essential Energy Shield clusters, totem efficiency nodes, and critical strike multipliers. Remaining passive points are allocated to jewel sockets for high-stat rare jewels, creating a balanced tree that maximizes offensive critical power while maintaining a robust Energy Shield defense.
Conclusion
In summary, Grim Pillars Oracle build offers a highly balanced and efficient solution for players looking to farm high-difficulty Grand Expeditions content in Path of Exile 2 0.5.0 on a reasonable budget.
By leveraging the safe damage output of spell totems, the screen-clearing capability of Grim Pillars and Entangle combination, and the escalating power provided by Headhunter upon kills, this build effectively counters the extreme threats posed by Expeditions stacked with numerous Remnant modifiers.
With its solid Energy Shield defense, complete immunity to Chaos damage, and built-in item rarity bonuses, Grim Pillars Oracle build stands out as a top-tier choice for current Expedition farming strategies.

Tired of the Same Meta Builds? These 5 Creative PoE 2 Patch 0.5.0 Builds Offer a Fresh Experience
Exiles, Path of Exile 2 0.5.0 has been live for almost two months. Tired of the mainstream builds and looking for something different? Today, I'll introduce five creative and powerful builds from the community:
- Plgue Bearer Monk
- Double Arc Mjölner Titan
- Blazing Berserker Ritualist
- Gemling Legionnaire
- Thanos Shotgun Gemling
Plgue Bearer Monk

The core of this build is stacking a large number of Poison layers through various means, then detonating Bursting Plaguet for a burst of damage.
Plgue Bearer is a continuous buff that stores a portion of Poison damage you inflict. Once enough layers are stored, activating the skill releases Plague Nova, dealing physical damage equal to the stored damage value to all surrounding enemies. The idea behind this build is to generate as much Poison damage as possible through other skills, then use this mechanic to unleash a massive physical damage attack on all enemies instantly.
It's worth noting that this build uses Reverie body armor. This item underwent a rework in PoE 2 0.5.0, no longer providing flask-related bonuses, but instead granting Rite of Restoration skill, allowing Non-Unique Life Flask effect to persist. Combined with Flask Recovery attribute, it provides an incredibly high amount of life regeneration.
Double Arc Mjölner Titan
Mjölner Torment Club is a unique one-handed hammer. Its core mechanic is triggering a Lightning Spell on melee hits. Paired with another one-handed hammer, Sadist's Mercy, it can achieve impressive screen-clearing effects. The core synergy of this build is as follows:
Using Sadist's Mercy inflicts Grueling Madness on enemies, who gain additional Power based on the number of Grueling Madness stacks they have. Higher Power means Mjölner can gain energy more quickly, and once fully charged, Lightning Spell triggered by Mjölner will unleash a barrage of attacks.
This build also utilizes Blood Magic to maintain skill casting, and combined with the Titan's inherent life regeneration bonus, sustain is not an issue at all. The most amazing aspect of Double Arc Mjolner Titan is its combination of map clearing speed and single-target damage, which is rare among all dual-wielding melee builds in Path of Exile 2.
Blazing Berserker Ritualist
Ritualist is one of Huntress's ascendancy builds. Unlike conventional approaches, this build follows a melee sacrifice route. Its core mechanics are as follows:
First, through Wildwood Persistence's mechanism that increases life regeneration by 10% for every 5% of unreserved life lost, damage taken is converted into life regeneration and life refund - the more life you lose, the faster you gain life regeneration.
Then, it cleverly utilizes the passives Self Immolation and Deterioration - Deterioration restricts you to only one ailment at a time, while Self Immolation causes 40% of the ignite effect you inflict to simultaneously apply to yourself. Therefore, once you ignite an enemy, they can no longer be affected by other status ailments (such as freezing, bleeding, etc.).
Finally, this build leverages Ritualist's unique low-resistance playstyle to gain higher damage output, and combines it with Sadist's Mercy's Gruelling Madness and Harbinger of Madness for further damage enhancement.
However, the only drawback of this build is its slow movement speed and the need for some investment to get started. If you want to experience this rare melee Ritualist as early as possible, you can buy PoE 2 currency from IGGM.com to accelerate gear progression.
Gemling Legionnaire
Gemling Legionnaire is one of Mercenary ascendancy builds, and also one of the strongest ascendancy builds in 0.5.0 Return of the Ancients. Its core advantage lies in its deep customization capabilities for skill gems.
Blistering Bond is a Ruby Ring in PoE 2 whose unique effect is that the bleeding you inflict deals fire damage instead of physical damage. This means you can stack both Bleed and Ignite damage over time simultaneously, inflicting double the torment on your enemies.
Perfect Strike is a double-edged sword; its damage multiplier is extremely high, but it requires perfect timing to unleash its full potential. The extra attack speed provided by Gemling Legionnaire conveniently lowers the difficulty of achieving that perfect timing.
It's worth noting that this build's map clearing mechanism isn't the typical poison burst build, but rather relies on the Ignite spread mechanism of Herald of Blood and Fiery Death, a rather novel approach.
Thanos Shotgun Gemling
The core of this build is the synergy between Incendiary Shot and Blackflame. Incendiary Shot is a crossbow skill that fires a flaming bolt that splits in flight. By stacking the quality skill, each shot can generate 10 fragments, and multiple fragments can hit the same target simultaneously, merging to deal damage. The skill itself converts 80% of physical damage into fire damage and increases Ignite damage by 200%.
Blackflame is a unique amethyst ring whose effect is to change the damage taken by enemies you ignite into chaos damage instead of fire damage. This essentially transforms Ignite from a fire DoT to a chaos DoT.
The advantages of a chaos DoT are: it can synergize with Despair to reduce enemy chaos resistance; it can be amplified by Wither effects; and most importantly, it can spread through Contagion.
This build utilizes Cast on Elemental Ailment to automatically trigger Contagion - each time Ignite is applied, Contagion is automatically cast, spreading the chaotic ignite to all nearby enemies. After an enemy dies, the ignite continues to spread, creating a full-screen chain reaction.
It perfectly blends the smoothness of chaos spread with the burst impact of the crossbow, truly achieving a satisfying one-click screen-clearing experience.
If you want to further improve your build, you can join IGGM PoE2 Facebook group. We're currently holding a giveaway event; participating gives you a chance to win currency to upgrade your build!
The above is a brief introduction to five community builds, covering various gameplay styles from less common mechanics to mainstream variations in PoE 2 0.5.0. Whether you're a veteran player seeking a fresh experience or looking for a second build direction, you can find inspiration here.

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5 Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire Build: Is This the Best One-Tap Screen Clearing Build for Endgame?
In Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5, the core experience of Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire build is like a teleportation-style kill in anime: the character instantly teleports behind an enemy, a Perfect Strike lands, and then the entire screen of monsters is cleared by a chain explosion.
This build combines the burst damage of melee attacks, the high survivability of a shield, and the incredible map-clearing ability of Ignite Proliferation, resulting in remarkably smooth, one-click screen-clearing gameplay.

Next, IGGM will provide a detailed analysis of the core mechanics, skill combinations, equipment choices, and late-game upgrades of POE 2 Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire build.
Core Mechanics
This Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire build utilizes the extremely high Attack Multiplier of Perfect Strike to unleash massive Ignite damage in a single, precise cast. No complex charging or waiting for specific timing is required; simply triggering Path of Exile 2 Perfect Timing accurately yields extremely high burst damage.
Through Chaos Ignite mechanic, you can convert Fire Ignite into Chaos Damage and spread it using Contagion. When a POE 2 enemy dies, Ignite and Contagion continue to spread, forming a continuous chain of explosions.
This is why this build boasts an incredibly high map-clearing speed. You only need to trigger Perfect Strike, and Proliferation will autocomplete the rest.
The advantage of Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire Build lies in the very high Hit Damage of Perfect Strike itself. Even against enemies with high resistance and not easily affected by Ignite, you can directly rely on the damage from Perfect Strike to eliminate them. Combined with Blink, you can quickly traverse the map, approach enemies, and then instantly unleash Perfect Strike.
This build can complete a map in about two minutes without relying on high-level Gears like Mageblood or Headhunter. In high-difficulty maps of Path of Exile 2 and Expedition content, even against monsters heavily enhanced by modifiers, as long as Perfect Strike hits, Ignite Proliferation will quickly clear the entire area.
Spread Ability
First, Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire Build requires Ignite Proliferation ability. Cracklecreep Ruby Ring allows Ignite to spread to nearby PoE 2 enemies, forming a complete loop with Chaos Ignite and Contagion.
Chaos Ignite is primarily obtained through Blackflame or Loreweave. Blackflame provides a very strong damage multiplier, allowing Ignite to be converted into Chaos Damage, thus creating an explosive spread with Contagion. Loreweave helps you complete Ignite Proliferation more easily, while also enhancing your elemental damage and improving survivability.
Attack Speed Requirements
While Perfect Strike deals extremely high damage, it requires a certain amount of Attack Speed to achieve its optimal effect. Ideally, you should achieve Instant Perfect Strike, meaning you only need to tap the skill button to trigger Perfect Timing without holding down the charge button.
Gemling Legionnaire itself provides a significant amount of Attack Speed support, and Rapid Attacks also help reduce Attack Time. It is recommended to keep Attack Time around 0.5 seconds, which is a comfortable range. Too slow a speed will negatively affect the gameplay experience; however, too fast a speed might affect Path of Exile 2 system's judgment of Perfect Timing.
Defense System
Besides damage output, the biggest advantage of Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire Build is its exceptional survivability. This build uses Shield as its core defense, providing additional protection through high Armor and Block Chance.
To complete PoE 2 Patch 0.5 endgame, you need to stack high armor values, approximately 2,500+ life, 150 ward, and high elemental damage reduction.
Blocks not only increase defense but can also be converted into damage. Lay Siege can increase damage based on block chance, allowing defense to also become a source of damage. Furthermore, you'll need to utilize Arctic Armor, Withering Presence, and Undying Hate Jewel to enhance your survivability in PoE 2.
Curse Immunity is also crucial because Temporal Chains reduce Attack Speed, and Perfect Strike relies heavily on precise timing. Therefore, you need to avoid the slowdown caused by Curse Immunity disrupting your gameplay rhythm.
Gear Selection
Gear selection for Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire is very flexible. Alpha's Howl provides a significant amount of Spirit and Aura, but it's not essential. You can also choose Helmet, which focuses more on health and defense.
Loreweave is also an optional piece of gear. You can replace it with Morior Invictus to increase Spirit and defense. If your budget is limited, you can choose Wildfire Support and pair it with regular Chest Armor to achieve the same effect.
Blackflame is the core gear for this build because it provides a huge damage multiplier, making it difficult to find a better match.
Gloves primarily aim to increase Melee Skills and Resistance. Boots are recommended to have affixes related to Armor Applies to Elemental Damage. For rings, you can add more Rarity as needed to supplement attributes and improve your farming efficiency in POE 2 Return of the Ancients.
Gem Configuration
Perfect Strike is the core skill of the entire build. You need to pair it with Rapid Attacks, Window of Opportunity, Sailor's Rhythm, and Scouring Flame.
Scouring Flame is one of the biggest sources of damage increase. It can significantly increase Ignite Damage, raising the overall burst damage of Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire to a whole new level.
Cast on Elemental Ailment automatically releases Contagion, reducing your need for additional actions. Combined with Contagion, Vitality, Magnified Area, and Prolonged Duration, it enables true one-click gameplay in Path of Exile 2.
Blink performs exceptionally well on Gemling Legionnaire; its low cooldown and high movement distance make for a very smooth map experience. Berserk is also an important skill; you can generate Rarity through melee attacks without relying on a continuous consumption mechanism. Magma Barrier further enhances Block Chance while also increasing defense and damage.
When farming high-risk PoE 2 content like Expedition, you'll need defensive curves such as Enfeeble. In normal maps, Temporal Chains slow monster movement, making Ignite Proliferation easier to spread.
Late-Game Upgrades
If you have more Path of Exile 2 Currency, this build has significant room for improvement. Using Magma Blood further enhances Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire's resistances, defense, and Rarity.
Alternatively, you can consider abandoning Shield and switching to a two-handed weapon build. Giant's Blood or a high-level Two-Handed Mace are excellent choices, theoretically allowing for a higher damage cap. However, even without these advanced investments, this build can still complete endgame content.
If you want to further improve your build, join in IGGM POE 1 & POE 2 Facebook Group. We have limited-time Path of Exile 2 Currency Giveaways to help you quickly craft powerful gear.
The greatest appeal of Perfect Strike Gemling Legionnaire isn't just its damage numbers, but PoE 2 gameplay experience it delivers. Compared to some builds that rely on expensive equipment or complex mechanics, this playstyle is easier to develop and offers a high degree of scalability.
Once you primary Perfect Strike Timing, this build can become a very powerful and satisfying way to clear maps in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5 endgame.

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0 Breach Rush Guide: The Most Accessible Currency Farm | No Mirror Gear, No Meta Build Required
Players, if you're still tired of the high-intensity gameplay and slow clearing speed of the 200% Delirious map in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0, there's a completely different path - easier, faster, and just as rewarding.
Breach farming might be the most underrated way to get rich easily in the game right now: low cost, low barrier to entry. What we need to do is quickly navigate the map, focus on Breach and Grand Expedition, and then steadily accumulate a large amount of PoE 2 currency.
Core Strategy
This Breach farming strategy involves quickly traversing various travel nodes in Grand Expedition ocean region. In each map, the tasks are to kill the map boss, clear out all Breach, and complete Expeditions as well.
Expedition itself is quite rewarding, occasionally yielding high-value items like Logbooks, making it well worth completing as you go.
After completing these, immediately move on to the next map. The goal is to clear all travel nodes in a certain ocean area to prepare for multiple rounds of Grand Expeditions. Alternate between these two gameplay styles.

Breach Rewards
In addition to regular Breach events, players may occasionally encounter Breach Hives in PoE 2, but the rewards will be lower than those for regular events.
While Breach Hives provide more Wombgifts than regular Breach Hands, their Hiveblood output is only about half - specifically, one Breach Hive is roughly equivalent to 1.5 Breach Hands' worth of Hiveblood, while a regular map has an average of three Breach Hands. Therefore, the total amount of Hiveblood obtained through Breach Hives is too small to be worth the effort to acquire.
Furthermore, clearing Breach Hives is slow, resulting in a poor gameplay experience. Unless unavoidable on the path, players should try to avoid them.
Genesis Tree
Crafting Direction
To increase profitability, we need to choose the right crafting direction in Genesis Tree within this Breach farming strategy.
Belts can be crafted using talents to add Minion Skills affixes, and even the worst quality finished products can sell for over 30 Divine Orbs. However, for long-term crafting, belts aren't the best investment for Hiveblood.
For players, a more attractive crafting option is Caster Rings.
Rings crafted with +1 Level of Spell Skills, even the worst Fractured version (not corrupted), will fetch over 300 Divine Orbs on the market. However, the price of Fractured version of the ring doubles to 600 Divine Orbs.
The more lucrative returns are for those based on Mnemonic Rings, with prices reaching 3000 Divine Orbs being normal.
Although these exceptional items don't appear frequently, accumulating Hiveblood through extensive Breach farming and continuous crafting actually increases the chances of getting a big win compared to obtaining Hinekora's Lock in Expedition.
Currency Focus
In the current Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0, Chaos Orb to Divine Orb exchange rate is approximately 8:1. This favorable market condition dictates the direction of our currency configuration in Genesis Tree.
We can choose to extend the left branch all the way to the top and select Selectively Bred: Vaal Orbs to block Vaal Orb drops. We also acquire Unpredictable Production node, which offers a chance to drop Chaos Orbs or Vaal Orbs - but since Vaal Orbs are blocked, we will only get Chaos Orbs we want.
Additionally, we can select Rebirth to provide a chance to avoid consuming additional Hiveblood, supplemented by several other nodes that increase Chaos Orb drop rate.
While there are branches that allow investing in items like Jewel Catalysts, given the current high value of Chaos Orbs, focusing on the production of regular PoE2 currency is clearly the better choice.
As for Breach Splinter and Breachlord Sac related nodes, their trigger rates are extremely low, so investing points in them is completely unnecessary.
However, there are PoE 2 currency giveaways on IGGM Discord now; participating in them might help with your Divine Orbs inventory too!
Atlas Passive Tree Configuration
In Expedition branch, choose extra explosives instead of extra Remnant, and Swamp instead of Desert as the direction for Cultivate the Sea bonuses.
The advantage of Swamp is that its Mastery provides a 10% chance to convert Exalted Orbs drops into Chaos Orbs, thus reliably increasing the yield of 1 to 3 Chaos Orbs per map.
While Desert provides monster effect bonuses and increased numbers, it also increases monster health by 15%, contradicting our goal of quickly clearing maps.
Tablet Selection
Tablet selection in PoE 2 is crucial in determining the efficiency of this preliminary evaluation.
One key point is that players should avoid Unique Breach Tablet. While it allows Stabilized Breaches to spawn a large number of rare monsters, making it suitable for high-Delirious environments, it significantly slows down map clearing.
In this speed-driven strategy, the most critical affix on the tablet is Quantity of Hiveblood Found in Map, which must be guaranteed to appear.
Second, players can also combine it with affixes like Quantity of Wombgifts.
Although a tablet with a good affix costs around 1 Divine Orb, considering the output, the investment is entirely worthwhile.
By the way, IGGM Facebook PoE 2 Group has been set up, and there will be occasional giveaways. You can stay tuned to help you on your PoE 2 league journey!
Liquid Verisium Usage Tips
Another clever tactic in this strategy is to always keep one set of Liquid Verisium in your inventory.
When encountering Verisium Remnants worth less than 1 Chaos Orb - whether in an Expedition or alone - it's worth rolling with Liquid Verisium.
Each roll costs only about half to one Chaos Orb, but has the potential to randomly roll for rare items worth hundreds of Divine Orbs.
This entire Breach farming strategy doesn't require a top-tier build, complex operations, or high investment, allowing for a stable accumulation of large amounts of PoE 2 currency in a relaxed and enjoyable gaming experience.
Because of its significant advantage in map clearing speed, it has the potential to become the most profitable farming method in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0.
