The plot of Diablo series has always been the best in the same genre. Whether it is Last Epoch or Path of Exile, most players just rush through the plot, and then come to the endgame and start to endlessly cultivate various items.

But the plot of Diablo series tells a contradictory story of the three forces of demons, angels and Nephalem (humans) fighting and cooperating, which has attracted some players to conduct in-depth research and interpretation of the plot.

The plot of Diablo 4 involves the demon Lilith and the angel Inarius, the creators of mankind, but no real ending is given, which makes many players criticize that it is simply a half-finished product. So what stories are not told? This depends on the background of Diablo 4 items and the existing plot.

Diablo 4 Rathma Prophecy Analysis: What Parts Have Not Been Realized?

Background And Prophecy

One of the most core events in the world of Diablo is the epic battle between the angels and demons called Eternal Conflict. The former are warriors under Angiris Council formed around the archangels, and the latter are Hell’s Legion led by the “Three Great Demons” — Diablo, Baal and Mephisto. As the name Eternal Conflict suggests, this battle between order and chaos will continue forever.

Tired of this meaningless struggle, the archangel Inarius is determined to create a peaceful world without conflict. However, Inarius knows that it is a fantasy for an angel alone to achieve this, so he joins forces with Lilith, a female demon of the Hell Legion, to gather angels and demons who also want to escape from the eternal war and create a human world called “Sanctuary”.

Born in Sanctuary are neither angels nor demons, but a kind of creature called Nephalem, which is the ancestor of mankind. Nephalem, who inherited the abilities of angels and demons, has great potential.

Worried that the powerful power of Nephalem will bring disaster, Inarius came up with the idea of destroying Nephalem. On the other hand, Lilith wanted to use the Nephalem to attack Heaven. She took advantage of Inarius’ absence to destroy all the angels and demons who opposed her, and was finally exiled by Inarius.

The core character in Diablo 4 is Rathma, the offspring of Inarius and Lilith. The prophecy he left behind hints at the plot of Diablo 4.

The First Prophecy

  • “I saw my corpse, and from my mouth crawled Hatred, A father burned his children on a pyre.”

Inarius knew that his son Rathma had the ability to predict. When he saw the prophecy that a spear of light would pierce Hatred’s Heart, he thought it was him, so he went to Rathma to ask for the key to hell, intending to attack hell, but Rathma did not give it to him, so Inarius killed Rathma in anger.

There are many Diablo 4 items related to Rathma, such as Aspect of Rathma’s Chosen, and Crest of Rathma.

The Second Prophecy

  • “And a mother molded a new age from the ashes.”

A wizard saw the prophecy of Lasma, and he judged that Sanctuary would be destroyed by demons soon, and the angels did not take humans seriously and would not rescue them. So he decided to use three volunteers as human sacrifices, which is the CG at the beginning of the game, to summon back the exiled Lilith, which is also one of the side quests in the game.

The Third Prophecy

  • "I saw the weak made strong, a pack of lambs feasting on wolves."

Lilith plans to seize the power of Lord of Hatred, who was killed in Diablo 2, that is, Dul’Mephistos, her father. She uses faith to seduce humans to kill each other and select the strong ones.

Mephisto was sealed and could not resist, so he divided a little power to become a sick wolf to guide the protagonist to become stronger and try to let you organize Lilith.

The Fourth Prophecy

  • “Tears of blood rained on a desert jewel, and the way to Hell war torn asunder.”

Finally, Lilith got the key to the gate of hell and opened it in the desert, and blood began to rain from the sky. And Inarius followed closely behind and stabbed Lilith with a gun. However, Lilith was stronger than him and could kill him even with a piercing wound, which meant that Inarius was wrong to think that he was the person in the prophecy. Unfortunately, he died in a hurry, and there are no items related to him in Diablo 4 items.

Unfulfilled Prophecy

  • “Then came a spear of light, piercing Hatred’s Heart, and he who was bound in chains was set free.”

Finally, as one of the victims of Lilith’s cult, the protagonist gathered a group of people to seek revenge on Lilith. In the end, although they successfully killed Lilith and re-sealed Mephisto, they were also seriously injured.

And the incarnation of Mephisto quietly possessed the body of Akarat, which is Vessel of Hatred’s plot, and as for the last two prophecies, have not yet officially appeared in the plot. This should be the story of the next DLC.

The plot of the Diablo 4 series is fascinating. Demons and angels do not necessarily represent evil and justice. What will be the end of this epic prophecy? Players still need to wait.
