Beyond Nostalgia! Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight Livestream Will Reveal 2026 Roadmaps for the Main Games of the Series

Category: Diablo 4 Posted: Feb 07, 2026 Views: 948

2026 is destined to be a special year, as the renowned game company Blizzard Entertainment celebrates its 35th anniversary, and its famous game series, Diablo, enters its 30th year.

Therefore, in addition to the previously announced news that the second expansion for Diablo 4 will be released in April this year, the development team will also announce more new developments for Diablo 4 through Diablo 30th Anniversary event.

Not only that, other games in the series that are still receiving significant attention, including Diablo II: Resurrected and Diablo Immortal, will also receive more new content.

Next, we will focus on Diablo 4 and introduce the exciting updates and celebrations that Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight will bring.

Beyond Nostalgia! Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight Livestream Will Reveal 2026 Roadmaps for the Main Games of the Series

Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight livestream

To allow all fans and players to understand the development team's plans more directly, they will hold a livestream on February 11, 2026, at 2 PM Pacific Time, where they will unveil the anniversary celebration update plans for the three main games.

You can watch the livestream through the official Twitch or YouTube channels, and limited-time Twitch Drops allow Diablo 4 players to unlock exclusive badges by subscribing to designated streamers before February 25, 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

In addition, Diablo Immortal players watching the livestream have a chance to win 10 legendary crests, legendary gear, 50,000 gold, and more through limited-time redemption codes!

Diablo 4 updates: Season 12 & second expansion

Regarding the updates for Diablo 4, it is currently confirmed that Season 12 and the second expansion will be released in March and April of this year, respectively.

Based on the performance of the ongoing 2.6.0 PTR, Season 12 creates a unique reward drop and buff mechanism through a more bloody seasonal mechanism.

Although the proximity to the release date of Lord of Hatred means that Season 12 may not receive enough attention from players, it should provide a good seasonal experience, and more importantly, 2.6.0 PTR seems to have revealed information about a new class.

As for the second DLC, Lord of Hatred, it further expands the depth of Diablo 4's gameplay and increases long-term re-playability.

According to the information released, the expansion will introduce new classes (Paladin has already been announced and is playable), regions, features, endgame content, and a significant rework of the skill tree system.

Before that, Diablo 4 is already a mature ARPG, with a well-developed gold-based economic system and a sophisticated character/gear upgrade mechanism built through various Diablo 4 items.

But this shouldn't be the end, as a game's lifespan depends on continuously releasing high-quality updates. Based on this, the new expansion will not only further develop Diablo 4's setting and narrative but also allow for further evolution of its core systems.

It must be said that on the 30th anniversary of the series' launch, this is the best way to reward player support and lay the foundation for more seasons and even the development of Diablo 5.

Don't miss the latest Sanctuary Sitdown!

The day after Diablo 30th Anniversary celebration, on February 12th, Diablo 4 developers will hold a new Sanctuary Sitdown, featuring interviews and discussions with players, to provide more news about Season 12 and the new expansion.

Therefore, to avoid wasting time, we reasonably speculate that the anniversary livestream might focus more on the other two games, or introduce more plans for Diablo 4 in the second half of 2026 or beyond.

Diablo II: Resurrected

This game, released in 2021, is essentially a remake of Diablo 2 and its expansion Lord of Destruction, which were released in 2000 and 2001. Although it doesn't receive as much attention as Diablo 4, it still has a loyal fan base.

For Diablo II: Resurrected, it's confirmed that Ladder Season 13 will launch on February 20th. Besides this, there are no announced plans indicating new developments for the game in 2026, but February 11th livestream will surely reveal more.

Diablo Immortal

As the only mobile game in the series, Diablo Immortal inherits the classic Diablo style while utilizing the advantages of mobile platforms to create new features, thus gaining attention comparable to other console Diablo games.

It is expected that in 2026, the development team will release a new chapter of the main story for Diablo Immortal, along with a new class, region, and a dangerous boss from an unknown source, enriching the game's core content.

It's worth noting that although these three games share similar background settings, there has been almost no interaction between them before. Perhaps this 30th anniversary celebration will bring some surprising internal crossovers.

Players' opinions

Most Diablo series players are expectant and optimistic about this extensive anniversary celebration, with only a few negative voices expressing concerns that the developers might not be able to create sufficiently satisfying new content.

Regardless of the outcome, as a classic IP, Diablo certainly doesn't lack fans, but we still hope that Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight will bring truly valuable updates that will make you want to continue protecting the peace of Sanctuary.
