CoD Black Ops 6 Season 4 Grief Mode Return: How To Play The Mode?

Black Ops 6 Season 4 will be officially launched on May 29. It is a pity that Janus Towers seems to be still in production, but this does not mean that players who like this mode have nothing to play.
On the contrary, Season 4 Zombie mode adds some very interesting modes, which can definitely bring you a great gaming experience!
Grief Mode
Grief mode first appeared in Black Ops 2, but this mode was abandoned in the sequel. The reason may be that the map is relatively small, and it is not in the interests of developers to develop a new map specifically for this mode.
Grief Mode Gameplay
The gameplay of Grief mode is quite unique. This is a 4v4 PVP mode. Players on both sides have a base. Players need to resist zombies while causing trouble for the other players and hindering their actions. Until all the players on one side are killed, the side that still has players alive wins.
If a player dies, another teammate can revive him/her. If he/she is disturbed by other players or zombies during the resurrection process, the resurrection will fail. However, as long as your team can successfully survive three rounds of attacks, all teammates can be resurrected.
If one of the teams has a player who quits midway and the team is less than 4 people, other players can join this team before 10 rounds of monster attacks.
In this mode, players’ guns and grenades cannot cause any damage to the opponent. But you can use your body to squeeze the opponent, occupy the opponent’s must-enter path, and let the opponent be swallowed by the zombies. This is a very risky operation, because you must ensure that you have enough firepower to avoid the same fate as the opponent, so you can use CoD Black Ops Weapon XP Tokens to quickly upgrade the level of guns.
Maybe you will say that you prefer to use Wonder Weapons, but unfortunately, items such as Wonder Weapons, GobbleGums, and Wonderbar are restricted and cannot be used in this mode.
Of course, you have another way to hinder your opponent. Why is this mode called Grief? Because players will be subject to Grief debuff.
Every once in a while, an occupation zone will appear on the map. Both players need to complete their objectives within the occupation zone, otherwise they will be subject to Grief debuff. If neither player completes the objective, all surviving players will be subject to this debuff.
Here are Grief debuffs:
- Weapon Nerf: Players affected by this Grief debuff deal greatly reduced damage to zombies.
- Ammo Drain: All ammo-based weapons (including stored weapons) will experience ammo drain, and bullets or shells will continue to disappear while Grief debuff is active.
- Zombie Ambush: Elite zombies will be summoned, and their hatred will be focused on the team with Grief debuff. The opposing player needs to hold out until the timer runs out, or just kill the elite zombie.
- Weapon Carousel: The opponent player’s weapons will be randomly swapped every few seconds.
- Frozen: This debuff slows the player’s movement speed and covers the character with frost and ice.
Grief Maps
Grief mode is very fun, but in Black Ops 2, it was criticized by players for having too few maps in this mode. However, in Season 4, the developers used existing map resources and released 11 Grief maps at once!
- 1. Liberty Falls Arena: Pump & Pay, Motor Lodge, and Fuller’s Liberty Lanes
- 2. Liberty Falls Arena: Dark Aether Church, Cemetery, Hilltop
- 3. Terminus Arena 1: Bio Lab
- 4. Terminus Arena: Crab Island
- 5. Citadelle des Morts Arena: Courtyard, Ramparts, and Entrance Hall
- 6. The Tomb Arena: Dig Site, Mausoleum
- 7. The Tomb Arena: Dark Aether Nexus
- 8. Shattered Veil Arena: Garden Pond, Lower Terrace
- 9. Shattered Veil Arena: Upper Terrace, Shem’s Henge, Motor Court
- 10. Shattered Veil Arena: Mansion Foyer, Overlook, East Foyer, Library
- 11. Shattered Veil Arena: West Hallways, Southwest Balcony, Bottlery
You may know Zombies mode well, but you may not know the details of these maps. Arsenal, Pack-a-Punch, Mystery Box, Crafting Tables, Perk machines, GobbleGum machine and other items that were not originally on this map will be moved to new locations within the map.
To survive longer in Grief mode, it is necessary to know these maps. You can get the details of these maps first in CoD: Black Ops 6 Bot Lobbies and plan your escape route!
Starting Room
Grief Mode is not the only new mode in Season 4. There will be a new mode released in the middle of Season 4, Starting Room. In this mode, you will form a 4-person team with other players to face the zombies in Moon Zombies map. Turn your guns to the maximum firepower and try to survive to the end!
Abomination Challenge
Another zombie mode in Season 4. A super-powered Abomination will appear in Liberty Falls. Do everything you can to defeat it!
Season 4’s zombie mode combines PVP and PVE, which requires your weapons and operators to reach a high level to avoid being at a disadvantage. Double Boost and Weapon XP Tokens can save you a lot of time.
