Wipe or Stay? ARC Raiders Second Expedition Reviews: Is It Worth Resetting Your Progress for Permanent Rewards?

Category: ARC Raiders Posted: Feb 07, 2026 Views: 956

Greetings, Raiders! The studio has just released official details about ARC Raiders Second Expedition. Soon, the underground tunnels of Speranza will open, sending another wave of raiders to Rust Belt for a new adventure.

We all know the thrill of extra skill points, cosmetics, and other permanent buffs is unparalleled, but you must be aware of the consequences: every raider participating in the expedition will have their character progress reset to zero after it ends, forcing you to start from scratch. So, is it really worth it?

Below, we'll provide a detailed breakdown of the information revealed directly from ARC Raiders website to help you better decide whether to participate in this expedition.

Wipe or Stay? ARC Raiders Second Expedition Reviews: Is It Worth Resetting Your Progress for Permanent Rewards?

Expedition Window Opening Date

First, all raiders can register starting February 25th, and the expedition departure date is March 1st. This is your chance to start a new journey with new raiders, extra buffs, and rewards. If you're not ready now, you might already be behind.

However, as we mentioned before, the expedition is a seasonal event, not something you can decide to join on a whim. Remember, you don't have to participate, and that's the beauty of it.

Of course, you can also choose to create two characters, one for PvP and one for PvE. You can reset one character at any time while the other remains unchanged. This way, if you want to jump back into the game and get the full experience, you'll always have a fully upgraded character. This is the best strategy.

Reduced Stash Value Requirement

Now the question is, have you started preparing for this expedition yet? Or are you planning to wait until the event window opens and then adapt accordingly?

Before everything begins, we saw the developers announce something: they received feedback from players regarding the high warehouse value required to obtain the highest rewards in the last expedition and have decided to lower the requirement to 3 million coins for this expedition, instead of the previous 5 million.

More importantly, once you reach 3 million warehouse value, you can still unlock 5 permanent skill points, successfully making up for the disappointment many players felt missing out on rewards last time.

In our opinion, this change is the biggest highlight of this expedition event. Lowering the warehouse value requirement allows more players to reach the goal and participate in the event more easily. Currently, the studio is quietly addressing a long-standing issue. They don't want players to be permanently left behind because of a single expedition. If you participated in the last expedition but missed out on skill points, you still have a chance to catch up, providing players with an opportunity to keep pace.

If you're still hesitant, this might be the expedition you should participate in. Because, generally, these systems tend to become more difficult over time, not easier.

Permanent Rewards vs. Consecutive Rewards

If you plan to participate in expeditions occasionally and enjoy the rewards and buffs they offer, then you absolutely need to pay attention to the following.

First, for players who participate in expeditions consecutively, the buffs they receive will stack, but for players who choose not to participate, the buffs will reset. Many players are confused by this, so let's explain.

You just need to understand that permanent rewards are one thing, and buffs are another. Permanent rewards such as skill points and stash space will remain permanently; however, temporary buffs only stack when participating in expeditions consecutively, such as your trading and XP bonuses. If you skip an expedition, these buffs will reset.

This is fair because it rewards consistent participation without permanently penalizing players for occasional interruptions.

It's worth mentioning that in the second expedition, they also added an exclusive Patchwork outfit. If you participate once, you'll get the skin, but you only get all the accessory options, which can be freely toggled on or off, if you participate twice consecutively.

Extra Stash Spaces & Skill Points

If this is your first expedition, you'll get 12 extra spaces. If it's your second, you'll have a total of 24 extra spaces.

Additionally, as we mentioned above, you can earn up to 5 extra skill points as you complete your expedition progress, and players in the second expedition can earn a total of 85 skill points. But that's the limit; 85 is the maximum number of skill points you can obtain.

Although extra stash space doesn't sound as exciting as adding skill points, you'll understand its usefulness when managing your inventory during expeditions; it's definitely a great advantage that enhances the gaming experience.

However, for some hoarders, even 500 or 1000 storage spaces wouldn't be enough; we'd still fill them all up. We don't want to throw anything away unless absolutely necessary.

Will the stacking of buffs from the expedition affect PvP balance?

This question is likely on the minds of most players who have decided not to participate in the expedition. As some players continuously stack buffs by participating in the expedition mode, they will inevitably become faster and stronger than other players.

While these rewards were originally intended to reward dedicated players, allowing them to level up faster and be more efficient after character resets, the enhancement to players' long-term survivability and leveling speed could lead to a power gap between new players and those who have completed multiple expeditions, potentially causing an imbalance in the in-game PVP mode.

Therefore, we believe that if the developers don't plan to add limitations to buff stacking later on, more players might be forced to join the expedition to keep up.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this expedition is better designed than the first, and it clearly respects players' time more. It not only addresses the main complaint about the overly high value of warehouse targets but also lays the foundation for long-term game progression. Although it's not perfect, it's still worth playing for most players.

If you're already level 75, and XP is no longer important to you, and collecting ARC Raiders blueprints or opening chests no longer excites you, then take advantage of the second expedition to reset your character.

Even though your progress is reset, you still have your previous experience. You know where everything is, just like before; build workbenches, complete quests, gain experience points, and acquire skill points. It will only take a little time to get back to the top! So, will you participate in the second expedition? Let us know your answer!
