ARC Raiders Headwinds New Augments Guide | Stop Losing Your Best Weapons Forever!

Recently, ARC Raiders received an update, adding two new epic Augments. What are their uses? Will they become part of the new meta Augments?
Whether you need to craft them or just want to collect them, you'll first need to find their blueprints. Let's take a look at the specific uses and blueprint locations of these two Augments.

Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival)
The core effect of Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) is to restore 1 health point every 5 seconds, but this effect is paused for 30 seconds after taking damage, exactly the same as Combat Mk. 2.
Its description also omits one point: equipping this Augment grants the player an integrated defibrillator. Its function is the same as a regular Defibrillator, but with a long cooldown of 240 seconds. Players can still carry a regular Defibrillator, but this built-in function saves a quick-use slot.
Let's look at the storage space first. This Augment offers 5 quick-use slots and 2 safe pocket slots. Compared to other Augments, it's in the middle range.
Tactical Mk. 3 (Healing) and Looting Mk. 3 (Survivor) each have 3 safe pocket slots. Among them, Looting Mk. 3 (Survivor) is undoubtedly the best, offering 5 quick-use slots, 3 safe pocket slots, and 20 main storage slots. Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival), on the other hand, only has 16 main storage slots, a significant limitation.
Furthermore, it's only compatible with light shields, which is a clear weakness. In contrast, other Augments are compatible with medium and even heavy shields. Considering its maximum loadout weight of only 65, and taking into account the materials required to craft it, it likely only ranks as Tier B among all Augments.
Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper)
Like Looting Augments, Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) has two Trinket Slots, but only one Safe Pocket Slot. Its unique feature is that this Safe Pocket Slot can store any item, including weapons. This makes ARC Raiders Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) blueprint potentially more valuable than Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival).
When facing ARC Bosses, many players are hesitant to carry their best weapons, fearing they might be stolen by other players. With Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper), you can confidently use your best weapons.
Similarly, in PvP, if you're unsure whether to go into battle fully armed, you can store weapons like Bobcat in the safe pocket slot and retrieve them when the opportunity arises. Alternatively, you can put the weapon of a player with a better weapon into your safe pocket when you defeat them.
Clearly, this Augment is designed for taking down large ARC units or for PvP, and it's the first Looting Augment compatible with all three types of shields: light, medium, and heavy.
The downside of Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) is that it only has one safe pocket slot and four quick-use slots. Furthermore, its practicality is limited by the fact that it only has 2 trinket slots. It's not ideal for regular loot runs, and these slots would be more useful for grenades or meds.
Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) has 18 main storage slots, but still less than Looting Mk. 3 (Survivor). In terms of looting potential alone, Tactical Mk.2 Defensive is still superior, with 20 storage slots, five quick-use slots, and one safe pocket slot. While Safekeeper offers two more accessory slots, its overall loot drop rate is weaker.
Therefore, unless you desperately need to protect weapons like Equalizer, Survivor Augment remains the top choice. If you want to use heavy shields, Defensive Augment is another good option.
How to Find Their Blueprints?
Currently, there are 77 blueprints in the game, with 3 yet to be implemented. The two newly added blueprints are for Revival and Safekeeper.
These blueprints will appear at typical Augment loot spawns. These include:
- Stella Montis Lobby Area
- Bluegate Reinforced Reception
- All Medical Containers
Additionally, you can look for medkits in areas like Hospital and Departure Building in Spaceport, which may contain blueprints.
Furthermore, since Cold Snap update, blueprints can randomly drop from almost any type of container. Therefore, if you're tired of competing with other players for specific spawn points, playing normally might yield unexpected rewards. If you want to search for blueprints more strategically, several key rooms can improve efficiency:
- Stella Montis: Lobby, Sandbox
- Buried City: Hospital
- Dam Battlegrounds: Testing Annex
If you want to quickly try your luck, heading to Stella Montis and speed running Augment containers is the fastest way. Containers are located in Lobby, Business Center, and Medical Research area. These locations are easily accessible regardless of your current Spawn location.
When opening Augment containers, if there are more than 3 items, they are more likely to contain a ARC Raiders Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) blueprint or Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) blueprint, and if there are only 3, the chance is very low. In densely populated player areas, prioritize quickly opening all containers and then check them one by one, as most players won't check already opened containers.
These two Augments don't perform particularly well. Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) might be a bit more useful, but it's still not Tier S. So don't rush to find their blueprints, and you'll naturally acquire them by playing the game normally.
