Stop Giving Chip Damage! ARC Raiders Bastion Weaknesses & Armor Stripping Tactics

Category: ARC Raiders Posted: Feb 03, 2026 Views: 969

ARC Raiders features many ARC enemies, each with different types and levels, and corresponding weaknesses, methods of defeating them, and loot. This time, we'll start by learning about one of the most popular enemies: Bastion. It's one of the many robot enemies in ARC Raiders, massive in size, with a hard shell, and extremely high damage; a moment of carelessness can easily lead to its demise.

Bastion seems so invulnerable, is there no way to defeat it? Of course, there is. However, knowing your enemy is half the battle; you need to fully understand your opponent to defeat it.

Stop Giving Chip Damage! ARC Raiders Bastion Weaknesses & Armor Stripping Tactics

What is Bastion?

First, what is Bastion? It's one of the many ARC robot enemies in ARC Raiders. It moves slowly but possesses extremely powerful artillery attacks; anything that gets in its way will be riddled with bullets.

Although it looks somewhat like a mutated, giant metallic crab, if you think so too, then congratulations, you've fallen into the developers' trap. Its attack power and resilience far surpass those of a crab.

Its attack pattern consists of two phases. Initially, Bastion will emit a piercing scream at the last location any Raider appears, a warning to take cover.

Where can you hide from its attack? You can find cover and hide behind it; or escape its line of sight when Bastion screams; or hide in buildings or dense vegetation to avoid being detected.

After the scream, a three-second indiscriminate Gatling gun barrage follows. If you unfortunately fail to dodge, then sorry, you'll have to start over.

Bastion's Weakness

You might think, since it's so powerful, if I can't defeat it, I'll just give up and find another target. While this idea is commendable, the loot gained from defeating Bastion far surpasses that of other smaller objectives. Doesn't that tempt you? But action speaks louder than words. Bastion isn't invincible; it has weaknesses.

Of course, trying to kill Bastion head-on is wishful thinking. Bastion's front is almost flawless; you need to find its weak points to defeat it.

Where are its true weaknesses? There are two locations you can observe closely.

First, at Bastion's leg joints, you'll see some yellow areas. These yellow areas are where Bastion isn't wearing armor. Attacking these areas will briefly stun Bastion, providing a good opportunity to attack.

Besides the leg joints, there's another location. If you can stand taller than Bastion, you'll find another yellow area on its back. Yes, this yellow container is also a weak point. Attacking here will also stun Bastion.

Attacking the yellow canister on Bastion's back has another advantage: destroying it will also peel away Bastion's back armor, revealing its fatal weakness—a large barrel-shaped component. Shooting this area will inflict massive damage on Bastion.

Attacking this area with Blaze Grenades and Snap Blast Grenades will achieve the same effect, although Snap Blast Grenades are slightly less effective. Players need to be careful in their choice of attack methods and weapons. Finally, you can place Deadline near Bastion; once the countdown ends, it will deliver a fatal blow.

Loot

After all the effort spent defeating Bastion, what loot will you get? This is the question most Raiders are concerned about, as no one wants their efforts to be wasted.

After defeating Bastion, it will drop special items called Bastion Cells. These cells contain various items, such as ARC Powercell and Medium Ammo. You can use these to upgrade your crafting table, allowing you to combine them with ARC Raiders blueprints to craft more advanced equipment, preparing you for defeating higher-level enemies later.

Bastion Spawn Locations

Now that you know what Bastion looks like, its weaknesses, and the loot it drops, where is it? How do you find it?

Bastions spawn in various locations across the map, primarily in relatively open areas. Statistics show that Bastions have appeared in locations such as East of Water Treatment Control in Dam Battlegrounds and Marano Park in Buried City.

Players can start by searching these areas. If you don't find it there, it's possible that Bastion has already been defeated by another player, or it simply hasn't appeared in that location in this game. You can try searching in other open areas. Remember to bring plenty of weapons.

If you encounter a Bastion during your search, don't panic. We've thoroughly understood its weaknesses; simply find the right opportunity to defeat it and claim your loot.

Player Feedback

Based on current forum feedback, most players haven't found a reliable way to defeat Bastions. They also experience issues like blindly searching or arriving at locations without finding them.

The actual gameplay experience will be more complex than described in this article, especially in combat. It tests not only your skill level but also your strategic thinking. Players need to remain calm during attacks, adjust their tactics promptly, and there's a high possibility of competition between players.

While there are many uncertainties in actual gameplay, we hope this guide to ARC Raiders Bastions will provide some assistance when facing it, preventing you from feeling lost.
