Giant Fake Shot

This skill move is ideal for use inside the penalty area, helping you change direction quickly and carve out a shooting angle. Executing a 90-degree turn with it is a powerful way to tear open the opponent's defense.

To get the best results from Giant Fake Shot, it is crucial to use a fast player, ideally one with both Sprint Speed and Acceleration ratings above 85.

If the player has a skill move rating of four stars or higher, the move executes even faster. Fortunately, all the top meta attacking players in FIFA 27 meet these criteria.

However, if you are lacking such players, or if you've mastered a 4-star or 5-star skill move but can't execute it, remember to consume FC 27 coins to acquire the necessary players via the transfer market or packs.

As for Fake Shot, we recommend avoiding the standard short-pass button combination in FUT 27; instead, combine Square or Circle button with X button to cancel the animation, then use the left stick to choose your direction of attack.

Controlled Sprint

Although not strictly classified as a standard FIFA 27 skill move, Controlled Sprint is definitely worth mentioning because it is incredibly effective.

It works particularly well with players who possess Technical PlayStyle, making it ideal for exploiting the gap between full-backs and center-backs.

To use this move, first adjust your position and direction with the left stick, then hold R1 to accelerate while maintaining close ball control. You can also flick the left stick quickly to execute rapid touches and agile changes of direction.

However, the best approach is to use the left stick for movement and fine-tuning, then hold R1 to burst into open space.

Ball Roll

This is a 2-star skill move that has been a staple of FIFA series for a long time; it is simple to execute and extremely versatile. It is perfect for improving passing accuracy when the angle is tight, simply perform a ball roll followed immediately by a pass.

It is also highly effective for finding new passing lanes if your initial route is blocked. Furthermore, the ball roll transitions smoothly into other moves and can even be used to control the ball the moment you receive it.

When necessary, you can also use the ball roll to cancel other actions, such as Power Shot.

To execute this move in FC 27, simply hold the right stick up or down, depending on the direction you want to move. To perform a continuous ball roll, slowly rotate the right stick.

Roulette

This 3-star skill move in FUT 27, sometimes simply called the spin, is inspired by the signature move of the legendary Zinedine Zidane.

During a match, when an opposing defender rushes at you and you need to make a slight directional adjustment, using Roulette allows your player to shield the ball with their body and evade a collision.

This move is particularly effective on the flanks; when you cut into the penalty area, it can throw opponents into a panic. A quick turn allows you to easily shake off defenders and leave them moving in the wrong direction.

To execute Roulette, you must rotate the right stick 180 degrees, always starting the motion from behind the player. The direction in which you flick the right stick at the end of the rotation determines the direction the ball travels as you exit the move.

Spin Cancel

As a cancel type skill move in FUT 27, Spin Cancel can completely confuse opponents, allow for a sudden change in direction, and provide a significant speed boost.

It is worth noting that while both 3-star and 4-star skillers can perform this move, 5-star skillers execute a variation known as McGeady Cancel.

However, mastering this move can be tricky. Before attempting it, you must first learn Berbatov Spin. The specific input involves flicking the right stick twice in succession: the first flick follows your running direction, while the second is directed either up or down.

To execute Spin Cancel, you must press L2 and R2 simultaneously while the move is in progress, then use the left stick to choose your exit direction.

The key is that the second and third steps must happen at the same time. After completing the move, continue holding the sprint button (R2) to gain a substantial burst of speed.

Although small-sided football has rapidly become one of the most popular features in The Grounds, the development team has identified areas requiring improvement—including Kickabouts matchmaking, win streaks, menu performance, long-term fatigue, and various gameplay and user experience optimizations.

Let’s take a closer look at the details of this update for The Grounds and how the mode is set to evolve.

The Grounds Small-Sided Football Is Extremely Popular

Since the launch of The Grounds, developers have observed immense player enthusiasm for various small-sided football formats, including 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and In-World Rush.

These activities have become the most frequently played content within The Grounds. However, this popularity has created a new issue: players sometimes struggle to gather enough participants for other activities, particularly Kickabouts mode.

Consequently, preliminary data indicates that Kickabouts is a key area in need of improvement.

The issue, however, does not lie with the gameplay design itself. According to officials, once a Kickabouts match actually begins, players generally find the experience quite enjoyable. The real challenge lies in gathering enough players to launch the match in the first place.

Improving Kickabouts Matchmaking

FIFA 27 team is currently exploring several potential solutions to make it easier for players to participate in Kickabouts activities.

One proposed solution allows players to signal at specific pitches that more participants are needed. This would make it easier for players exploring The Grounds to discover and join activities that are waiting for a full roster.

Furthermore, the team is exploring ways to connect players across servers while maintaining an immersive game world experience. They are also considering the introduction of regular Kickabouts-themed events to attract a larger number of participants simultaneously. However, as these proposals are still in the research phase, the developers have not yet finalized the specific implementation methods or a timeline in this update.

Winner Stays & Win Streaks May Come to The Grounds

Regarding The Grounds mode, one of the most requested features by the community is the inclusion of Winner Stays and Win Streaks mechanics.

Most players want a system where the winning team doesn’t have to leave the court after a match but can stay on to play the next one. Fortunately, the developers have noted that players and streamers are already tracking win streaks and organizing competitions around this style of play; they believe it is entirely feasible to support this directly within The Grounds mode.

They have stated that they are exploring specific designs for Win Streaks experience. The concept might allow players to remain on the court after a victory, accumulating and visibly displaying their win streak until they eventually lose a match.

However, no specific launch date or exact operational details have been announced yet. IGGM will share the latest updates as soon as the plans become clearer.

Long-Term Fatigue Returns to Clubs 11v11

Clubs 11v11 mode is also seeing a significant adjustment.

Feedback previously indicated that infinite stamina could give large clubs an unfair advantage over smaller ones; in response, the developers have reintroduced a degree of long-term fatigue in FUT 27.

This change is included in the recent Title Update v1.0.1. The developers state they will continue to monitor player feedback and game data to determine if further adjustments are needed. The overall goal is to strike a fairer balance between large and small clubs while ensuring the penalties associated with long-term fatigue are not overly harsh.

Performance Issues with The Grounds Mode Menus

Issues involving abnormally high ping during certain cross-region Clubs matches have been addressed.

Incorrect Archetype Point Costs

A major issue currently under investigation concerns the point costs required for Archetype upgrades.

Point costs for specific attributes can vary by Archetype. This means a key attribute might be expensive for one Archetype but unusually cheap for another, leading to imbalances between different builds. A timeline for a definitive fix has not yet been determined.

Erratic Goalkeeper Behavior in 1v1

Reports of erratic goalkeeper behavior in 1v1 Classic have been acknowledged by the developers; while they are investigating the matter, no specific details or fix schedules have been announced.

Fast Travel to Stadium and Clubhouse

Another potential quality-of-life improvement being considered is the addition of a fast-travel function to Stadium and Clubhouse entrances.

Currently, players must traverse The Grounds area to reach these specific locations. Encouragingly, developers are exploring ways to make these destinations more accessible—such as through fast travel or direct warping—to streamline player movement.

11v11 Drop-In Preferred Position

Additionally, a potential fix is ​​being tested to resolve an issue where a player’s preferred position is not correctly applied in 11v11 Drop-In matches. This aims to ensure players more consistently secure their chosen position when entering a game. 

World Map Access While Queued

Another issue currently being addressed is the inability to open the world map while queued for certain activities; a fix is currently undergoing testing.

Map Input Triggering Season Pass

An issue where certain map inputs in FC 27 cause Season Pass to open unexpectedly is also currently being investigated and fixed.
