Dune Awakening Spice & Spice Sand: How To Obtain And Utilize These Two Different Items?
If water is an essential resource on any inhabited planet (including the real world and the virtual world), then for Arrakis planet of Dune Awakening, Spice is a bit like other rare resources such as oil on Earth.
For the residents of Arrakis, although they can survive without Spice, the additional benefits that this item can provide are simply beyond imagination, so various families and forces are always fighting for more Dune Awakening Spice.
Naturally, as an individual player, you must also participate in this competition. Whether you want to strengthen your own strength or help the family you support, you need to have enough Spice.
In addition, there are other Spice-related items in the game that are also worth having, such as Spice Sand. Based on this, we will mainly introduce these two items to you this time.
What Is Dune Awakening Spice?
In the game, Spice is also called melange. It is one of the rarest substances in the known universe of Dune Awakening. It can make people live longer, be immune to certain toxins and diseases, and awaken people with precognitive abilities. There are three types of Spice:
- The power bar for the special ability
- Resource-based Spice can be found in places like Spice Blooms
- Melange processed Spice made by utilizing resource-based Spice
Since Arrakis is the only planet in the game universe where Spice can be found, it is also a symbol of wealth and power here, causing countless disputes.
However, it is worth noting that if Spice is consumed excessively, it will cause addiction like drug abuse, and it will cause the side effect of Eyes of Ibad in the early stage of consumption-making your eyes look abnormally blue.
How To Get Spice?
There are four distribution locations for unprocessed raw Spices in the game, and the collection methods of Spices in different locations are also different:
- 1. Spice Blooms can be found in most open sandy areas, and you need to utilize Compactor or Sandcrawler to collect them, or you can do it manually. However, there will be Sandworms in the sand, so be careful.
- 2. Some cabins in the non-wreckages area of some transport ships that crashed in the desert will hide Spices, which can be obtained by utilizing Cutteray.
- 3. Spices can be found in Spice Refineries in specific POIs.
- 4. There are many Spice Blooms in Deep Desert, but the area is very dangerous, with a PVE copy and several PVP contested areas. If your character level is not high, don’t try it easily, otherwise it will cause losses.
What Is The Specific Role?
The special role brought by Spice is reflected in the game, which is to enable your character to release more skill potential by increasing damage and reducing cooling time, so that you can earn Dune Awakening Solari or other survival resources faster.
During the period of effect, the enhanced effect brought by Spice will be through the purple bar below the skill interface. But when the effect ends, the side effects brought by Spice will make you feel uncomfortable.
Even if you refuse to consume Spices because you hate the side effects, in Dune: Awakening, you can’t do without Spices whether you want to trade with others or make more powerful gear, so the side effects are more or less unavoidable.
Should You Utilize Spices?
To be honest, it depends mainly on your play style. If you are a casual player and don’t plan to participate in various faction battles, then only touching Spices when trading will not affect your game experience. But if you like hardcore gameplay, the power of Spices is still worth utilizing.
However, to ensure that the negative effects of consuming Spices are avoided as much as possible, first, remember to check the toxicity level in the character’s blood in time. Once the relevant progress bar enters the red zone, the more Spices you will need next, and the stronger the side effects will be after stopping.
Second, when the buff effect of Spices ends, you need to replenish Spice power by consuming Melange food and drinks. You can choose to make it yourself or consume Solari to exchange it at the NPC.
If you don’t replenish this power in time, your physical strength and health will be reduced in subsequent battles, and you will be more vulnerable to damage. In the next battle, your deactivation symptoms will be more severe, and more Spices will be required to activate special abilities.
What Is Spice Sand?
Despite the similarity in name, Spice Sand is just a common resource compared to Spice. But it is special compared to other regular materials in that it can only be farmed with the help of specific tools.
What Does It Do?
Interestingly, Spice Sand can be utilized to make Spice Melange and various Melange Spiced food and drinks - which can replenish your Spice power when your Spice effect ends. The individual recipes are as follows:
- Spice Sand x100 + Water x750: Spice Melange x1
- Plant Fiber x10 + Spice Sand x2 + Mouse Corpse x1: Melange Spiced Food x1
- Water x50 + Plant Fiber x10 + Spice Sand x16: Melange Spiced Beer x1
- Water x100 + Plant Fiber x20 + Spice Sand x20: Melange Spiced Coffee x1
How To Get Spice Sand?
This item is mainly found in large areas of dark sand in open dunes, marked by scorch marks or explosion marks, and is usually concentrated in the second region of Vermillius Gap.
This item can be collected manually, but we still recommend that you craft a static compactor. The schematic diagram of this tool requires you to complete Second Trial of Aql location to unlock it, and then you need to collect 10 iron ingots and 7 EMF generators to craft it.
Once you have the tool, utilize it to shoot at the sand to make it condense into blocks, and you can collect Spice Sand. In addition, don’t forget to prepare enough power supply for your compactor.
The above is about how to collect these two items and their respective functions. I hope it will help you progress in the game! Have fun!

Dune Awakening Vehicles Guide: How To Get Your First Vehicle?
After you have just created a new character and have undergone a short operation training, you will enter the desert to start your survival journey. After you are exposed to the sun and work for a few minutes, you will see that your character is in a state of water shortage, and at this time you may have only walked a few hundred meters. You realize that if you want to collect resources deeper, a good means of transportation is essential.
Dune Awakening has an extremely vast map. If you rely on your legs to trek, you will die in various accidents on the road. Therefore, for all players, getting a vehicle is a very urgent matter. Fortunately, Dune Awakening has designed a very complete vehicle system. From sand motorcycles to Ornithopter, they can all become your powerful helpers in this world.
Simply put, the vehicles that players can build are divided into 4 categories: Sandbike, Buggy, Sandcrawler, and Ornithopter. They are not simply superiors and subordinates. They each have their own adaptive scenes.
Sandbike
Sandbike is a typical light vehicle. It has a very fast moving speed on land and can quickly take you to your destination. Sandbike has low defense and cannot carry too many items. It can usually only accommodate one player. After modification, it can accommodate up to 2 players.
Compared with other land vehicles, Sandbike has the best speed and flexibility. It can easily pass through the narrow area between two rocks and sometimes even avoid the attack of sandworms. It is a necessary vehicle for players in the early stage.
Your first Sandbike will be unlocked after you reach the main quest, Across the Gap. The mission requires you to drive a Sandbike across the desert. You need to collect some Dune Awakening items from the enemy camp to complete the construction.
- 1x Welding Torch
- 1+ Medium Sized Fuel Cell
- Sandbike Components
- 1x Sandbike Chassis Mk1
- 3x Sandbike Tread Mk1
- 1x Sandbike Hull Mk 1
- 1x Sandbike PSU Mk1
- 1x Sandbike Engine Mk1
Once you find these parts, you can find an empty space to build your Sandbike.
After you complete this mission and cross Hagga Basin South to the northern settlement, you can sometimes see unowned motorcycles here. If you want to help your friends, you can just steal them.
Buggy
Buggy can accommodate up to 4 players and can carry more things. But it moves much slower than Sandbike and is more cumbersome to travel through the sand.
But in fact, this is not designed as a transport vehicle. Buggy has powerful defense and firepower. It is undoubtedly a desert fortress. It can be used for mining, but players prefer to drive it to PVP.
Your first Buggy can be stolen. You need to go to Sentinel City under Godzilla mountain, and then you can find a Buggy that can be stolen on the slope. Although its condition is not very good, it can only be said to be barely drivable. You can use copper wire to make the old off-road vehicle look brand new, but making a new Buggy will not waste too many parts.
Sandcrawler
Sandcrawler is a pure collection tool. The resources consumed are huge. Single players usually cannot afford it. It is usually built by a team. Sandcrawler is mainly used to collect Spice Sand and Flour Sand. They are the most valuable resources in the game. You can bring you tens of thousands of Dune Awakening Solari if you mine them.
Even building a Sandcrawler Cabin Mk6 may consume all your resources. It requires the following resources:
- 60 Intel Points
- 1200 Intel
- 1050 × Water
- 13× Plastanium Ingot
- 30× Advanced Servoks
- 27× Cobalt Paste
- 45× Armor Plating
- 54× Spice Melange
Ornithopter
Ornithopter is one of the most commonly used vehicles in the middle and late stages of the game. It flies over the desert like a dragonfly, completely avoiding the threat of sandworms.
Normally, players need to reach Hagga Rift and Eastern Rock Wall region to meet the conditions for making Ornithopter, because this area contains Dune Awakening items required for making it:
- Water x 57000 ml.
- Aluminum x 241 Ingots
- 82 x Cobalt Paste
- 46 x Advanced Servoks
- 22 x Particle Capacitors
- 14 x Diamondine Dust
- 8 x Industrial Pumps
- 8 x Complex Machinery
- 7 x Carbide Scraps
Another way is to join the Atreides or Harkonnen faction and raise the reputation to level 4. You can directly exchange the various parts of Ornithopter with Solari in the faction store, but this also takes a lot of time.
In addition, Ornithopter is divided into three types:
- Scout Ornithopter: Equivalent to Sandbike flying in the air, agile and fast, able to fly long distances.
- Assault Ornithopter: Slightly slower, but with high armor value, can carry various weapons and is good at fighting.
- Carrier Ornithopter: An aerial vehicle used to transport people or cargo. It has a slow speed, high armor value, and a long flight distance.
Dune Awakening’s various vehicles can easily meet your various needs on this planet, but be careful to park them in the shadows, otherwise you will have to repair them frequently.
