WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Midsummer Fire Festival Guide | Earn Gold and Gear from Ahune Daily

Category: WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Posted: Jun 23, 2026 Views: 12

Midsummer Fire Festival has arrived in WoW TBC Classic Anniversary, and with it comes a wealth of opportunities to earn substantial gold by completing quests scattered across Azeroth and Outland.

Beyond the gold, the festival grants an experience bonus, temporary food buffs, and a daily dungeon boss that drops loot from both heroic and normal modes. Some of that gear even rivals or surpasses what you can currently find in Tier 5 raid content.

WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Midsummer Fire Festival Guide | Earn Gold and Gear from Ahune Daily

How to Challenge Ahune?

Ahune appears exclusively during Midsummer Fire Festival and can be faced in Slave Pens on either normal or heroic difficulty.

On normal mode, you simply accept a quest from NPC at the dungeon entrance, turn it in to the next NPC further inside, and then receive the final quest that lets you summon Ahune at the crystal. Turning in that quest triggers the summon, but the fight will not start until you move close to him.

Before the summon, clear the room of any hostile creatures. On normal difficulty, only the mobs directly in front of him need clearing; on heroic, it is wise to also clear the two groups behind him, since they are level 70 and could pull extra enemies - especially if you have a temporary pet along.

How to Defeat Ahune?

The battle against Ahune unfolds in two phases. The first phase lasts one minute and thirty seconds and consists of waves of minor adds - just dispatch them easily until the timer runs out.

A large add appears alongside several smaller ones during this phase. Note that Ahune himself is immune to all damage here, so keep your distance; getting too close will knock you far back, and you must also sidestep the ice crystals that erupt from the ground.

After the 90s elapse, the phase 2 begins, during which you can attack his Frozen Core for 40s. If you fail to destroy the core within that window, the fight reverts to the first phase. Watch out for icy patches on the floor that cause you to slip and become stunned. When Frozen Core reaches zero health, the encounter ends.

Ahune's Loot

On normal difficulty, Ahune drops cloaks or necklaces of item level 128, covering all class specializations. The developers have adjusted his loot table so that these rewards are notably improved compared to earlier versions.

Among them, Frost Lord's War Cloak stands out as particularly powerful, matching or even slightly outperforming Telonicus's Pendant of Mayhem. If you have not yet obtained that necklace or your current one is mediocre, running this boss daily is well worth the effort, as it could become your new BiS for WoW BCC Anniversary phase 2.

Each player can do one normal Ahune run per day, so a full group can summon him up to five times in a row if none of the members have used their daily attempt yet. Heroic Ahune locks the dungeon instance normally.

In theory, a party can complete 5 normal runs plus one heroic run per day, but keep in mind the instance reset limit of five per hour. It is strongly recommended to run this as often as you can each day.

After your first defeat of Ahune, you can loot Shards of Ahune, which start a quest that you turn in within Slave Pens. The reward lets you choose between Tabard of Summer Flames or Tabard of Summer Skies, along with 20 Burning Blossoms and some gold.

Midsummer Fire Festival Quests

During the event, you can honor or desecrate bonfires at various locations throughout Azeroth and Outland. Honoring a flame belonging to your own faction yields roughly 6 gold each, while desecrating an opposing faction's flame gives about 12 gold.

Visiting all the bonfire locations across the world can net you somewhere between 500 and 600 gold in total. However, this is a one-time reward, since those quests are not repeatable.

In addition, your capital city offers three daily quests every day. Two of them are fun torch-tossing mini-games, and the third sends you to Dark Portal in Hellfire Peninsula to kill a level-67 monster.

These dailies become available after you complete the initial introductory quests in the capital. The torch-tossing tasks require you to throw torches onto lit braziers marked with arrows or to juggle a torch ten consecutive times; each grants 12 gold upon completion.

Hellfire Peninsula kill quest rewards 8 WoW TBC Classic Anniversary gold. Once you finish that quest for the first time, it becomes a daily as well. If you grow tired of mindless gold farming, this festival offers a refreshing change of pace.

Burning Blossom

Completing these quests earns you Burning Blossoms, which you can trade for items in the capital or toss into a bonfire to gain a one-hour buff that increases your critical strike chance by 3% and deals 72 fire damage to attackers when you are struck.

This critical buff stacks with flasks and can be taken into raids - treat it as a world buff. However, you must use your flask first and then acquire the critical buff; if you do it in reverse, the flask will overwrite the critical effect. The critical buff is considered a battle elixir, so it replaces any existing battle elixir you have active.

Burning Blossoms also let you obtain various fun cosmetic items or toys, but most players prioritise the food buffs available for exchange. These food buffs stack with regular food and provide bonuses to defense, hit rating, spell power, and other stats.

The festival food items remain usable for 14 days from the moment you acquire them, not for the remaining duration of the event itself. Therefore, if you stock up on the final day of the festival, you can enjoy those food buffs for two additional raid lockout cycles after the event ends.

XP Buff

Around the festival grounds, you will also find ribbon poles. If your character dances beside one long enough, you gain a stacking +10% XP buff that lasts up to one hour. If you are leveling an alt, make it a habit to stop by and dance here each hour.

WoW TBC Anniversary Midsummer Fire Festival runs for only two weeks, specifically from June 21st through July 5th (Sunday). Note that it does not end on a Tuesday, so keep the calendar in mind.
