How to farm Epic Gems in Phase 3?

WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 3 has also expanded the methods for farming Epic Gems.

First, with the opening of Mount Hyjal raid, you gain access to Hyjal Summit. In this area, Epic Gem nodes spawn between Alliance and Horde camps, as well as between Horde and Night Elf camps.

To unlock and mine these veins, you must first defeat the boss at your faction's camp and speak with Lady Jaina Proudmoore or Thrall; only then will the gem veins begin to spawn.

Each spawn cycle generates approximately eight nodes for mining, provided you have chosen Mining as a profession and have reached a skill level of 375.

How to utilize Epic Gems?

Items obtained through mining or combat drops are typically raw gems; they must be processed before they can be socketed into your gear. To begin, you must earn reputation with Scale of the Sands faction, by completing quests or defeating enemies within the raid, to increase your standing.

Next, locate the designated vendor, Indormi, Keeper of Ancient Gem Lore, in Mount Hyjal. She sells up to 30 gem-cutting designs; the higher your reputation, the more designs you can unlock. Additionally, raid bosses in Hyjal drop another 8 designs.

You must possess Jewelcrafting profession and reach skill level 375 to learn and craft these designs. Once crafted, the gems can be kept for personal use, gifted to others, or sold to earn more TBC gold.

Much like mining, when gathering raw gems as a raid group, you simply need to ensure that at least one member meets the required profession skill level.

When socketing gems, matching the gem color to the gear socket color activates an additional stat bonus. However, if a gem is exceptionally rare, the color match may not be strictly necessary.

Impact of Epic Gems on combat

As more phases and raids are released for WoW TBC Classic Anniversary, combat difficulty increases. Beyond relying on new, high-level gear, the bonuses provided by Epic Gems play a crucial role.

For DPS players, socketing red Epic Gems into as many red slots as possible can significantly boost damage output. Physical DPS classes benefit from gems offering physical power or agility, while mana-based classes should focus on increasing spell damage.

For tanks, socketing Epic Gems that boost Stamina or Defense Rating offers a massive upgrade, potentially the difference between survival and being instantly killed by a boss's combo attack.

Hybrid gems offer even greater versatility; they can be distributed among various party members for flexibility or socketed into your own gear to provide a broader range of stat bonuses.

Impact on the game economy

For instance, rare ores like Adamantite and Khorium saw a surge in popularity in the lead-up to Phase 3 release. At the same time, more players, whether to support their guilds or to maximize income in Phase 3, will likely switch their professions to Jewelcrafting.

Jewelcrafters who max out their reputation early and master the full set of gem-cutting recipes stand to earn significant gold through sales and crafting services, thereby accelerating market activity throughout the game.

Furthermore, the introduction of Epic Gems creates a lucrative new revenue stream for groups focused on gold making. During TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 3, these groups can boost the gold making of all raid participants by capitalizing on the raw Epic Gems obtained from clearing trash mobs or mining.

WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 3 Best PvP Classes | How New Gear Changes Arena Performance?

WoW TBC Anniversary Phase 3 is now live. Compared with PvE, the gear gap between PvP players is relatively small, which puts much more emphasis on individual skill.

Of course, when players are equally skilled, class selection also matters a lot. Some classes are extremely overpowered in Phase 3 and can even remain strong into Phase 4. Choosing one of these classes can make it much easier to secure victories. Here are some of the strongest classes for Arena PvP in Phase 3.

Tier S

Subtlety Rogue

Subtlety Rogue is unbelievably strong in WoW TBC Anniversary Phase 3. Even without Warglaives of Azzinoth and with only some PvE gear, Subtlety Rogue is still an S-tier class. With Warglaives of Azzinoth, it becomes arguably the strongest class in the game, leaving other classes struggling to compete.

Even before obtaining Warglaives of Azzinoth, Subtlety Rogue already has strong damage, powerful crowd control, solid survivability, and excellent stats. There is no need to stack Hit Rating because the off-pieces already provide enough Hit, while Attack Power can reach around 2,400, along with very high Crit, Dodge, and health.

If you have a full set of Netherblade gear, Cursed Vision of Sargeras, Berserker's Call from Zul'Aman, Warglaives of Azzinoth, and a full collection of off-pieces, the damage triggered by Warglaives can instantly kill an opponent, allowing you to win games that you probably should not have been able to win.

Restoration Druid

In WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 3, Restoration Druid remains one of the strongest healing specializations in PvP, especially in Arena.

Its core strengths are powerful HoT healing, exceptional mobility, and excellent crowd control. Rejuvenation and Lifebloom can maintain healing while moving, while Travel Form, Dash, shapeshifting to remove slows, and Dire Bear Form make Resto Druid extremely difficult to kill when focused. At the same time, these tools allow it to constantly disrupt the opponent's momentum.

Frost Mage

Frost Mage is extremely overpowered in WoW BCC Anniversary Phase 3. Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer and Skull of Gul'dan provide a large amount of Haste, while off-pieces from Black Temple and Hyjal also offer huge amounts of Haste.

Phase 3 marks the beginning of the peak period for Rogue and Mage compositions. This composition requires Mage to deal high damage while also staying alive, and Phase 3 provides exactly that. Phase 3 brings Haste, Spell Damage, Warglaives of Azzinoth, and Battlemaster's trinkets.

Once Battlemaster's trinkets become available, Rogue can activate its defensive tools and safely recover behind a pillar, while a low-health Mage can use Ice Barrier, Blink away, and drink back to full. Combined with Vengeful Gladiator gear, Frost Mage can truly delete opponents.

Tier A

Retribution Paladin

Retribution Paladin has some of the strongest burst damage in the entire game, with a single Global Cooldown capable of dealing more than 10,000 damage. Its survivability is also very strong because it has shields and high durability.

Its only real problem is mana. Once the mana bar is empty, the match can easily be lost. However, as long as its major cooldowns, abilities, and mana are available, it can defeat almost any team on the ladder.

In addition, the current damage profile of Retribution Paladin appears to have a bug. In some cases, it can instantly kill an opponent even without using its major cooldowns. There have even been cases where a Retribution Paladin was killed from full health before Cheat Death could trigger.

It is almost an S-tier class, but Warlock is an extremely strong counter to Retribution Paladin, and Warlocks are currently quite common in Arena.

Discipline Priest

Discipline Priest has been extremely strong since Phase 1 of TBC. Smite can deal close to 1,000 damage, while Power Word: Shield is already approaching the level expected in Phase 4.

It also has Fear, Dispel, Mind Control, Mana Burn, and extremely strong damage.

However, as the expansion progresses, Armor Penetration becomes increasingly important, while both melee and spell damage continue to rise. Resilience in WoW TBC does not provide baseline damage reduction, making Discipline Priest increasingly difficult to keep alive.

At the same time, Warglaives of Azzinoth, Armor Penetration, high Attack Power, high-damage weapons, and Haste-stacked Mages all become more prominent. These are matchups and mechanics that Discipline Priest does not handle particularly well, although its overall performance remains very strong.

Soul Link Warlock

Soul Link Warlock was the strongest build in WoW TBC Anniversary Phase 2. It was extremely difficult to kill and had almost no natural counters.

However, in Phase 3, Frost Mage, Subtlety Rogue, and Warriors with higher health and stronger sustained damage have all become more powerful, while Soul Link Warlock itself has received no major improvement.

Once Mages obtain Zhar'doom, Skull of Gul'dan, and high Haste, Frostbolt and their Global Cooldowns become faster. Meanwhile, Warlock DoTs in The Burning Crusade cannot snapshot Haste.

This issue was not properly addressed until Wrath of the Lich King through changes such as Glyph of Corruption. As a result, Warlock has fallen considerably from its Phase 2 dominance, although it remains very strong.

It still uses Seal of Danzalar and Void Star Talisman, and it may be able to use Hex Shrunken Head after Phase 4, but the overall changes are limited. It remains powerful, but it is no longer at the same dominant level it enjoyed in Phase 2.

Arms Warrior

Arms Warrior's most common partner, Restoration Druid, is extremely strong in Phase 3, and Warrior itself is no slouch either. Black Temple off-pieces provide more damage, while its health pool also increases significantly.

In WoW TBC, giving Warriors more health further improves their survivability through Blood Craze and Second Wind.

By the end of TBC, Warriors can reach around 15,000 health while also having high damage, excellent PvE gear, and better weapons and armor.

The Burning Crusade Phase 3 is considered a peak largely because powerful gear such as Warglaives of Azzinoth, Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer, and Skull of Gul'dan provides major upgrades for different classes. With these items, players can completely overwhelm their opponents in PvP.
