WoW MoP Classic Leveling Tips: How Long Does It Take To Reach Max Level?

Posted: Jul 19, 2025 Views: 83

Mists of Pandaria is one of the best expansions for World of WarCraft, but it was released in September 2012, almost 13 years ago. A new generation of players may have missed out on this wonderful expansion, but the good news is that Mists of Pandaria Classic will be released on July 21, and it will be available to all players.

MoP Classic has made some adjustments compared to the original version, and some issues that players have complained about, such as reputation temperature, have also been improved. Another point that many players are concerned about is how long it will take to reach the maximum level?

WoW MoP Classic Leveling Tips: How Long Does It Take To Reach Max Level?

Normal Leveling

The leveling speed of Retail World of WarCraft is very fast, and you can basically reach the maximum level with little effort, but this is not the case in the original WoW. In the beginning, the player’s leveling speed is very slow, and in one expansion after another, the leveling speed of the character gradually increases.

WoW MoP Classic’s leveling speed is faster than MoP, but it is definitely slower than Retail WoW. If you focus on leveling, it will take you about 20 hours to level from 1 to 85. If you don’t rush, it will take about 40 hours to reach level 85. In Vanilla WoW, this time will only allow your character to reach around level 25-35.

If you are efficient, it will take about 5 to 7 days to reach the maximum level, and most players can reach the maximum level within 2 weeks. However, reaching the maximum level is just the beginning, and there are still many things waiting for you to explore, such as difficult raids, earning WoW MoP Classic gold to upgrade equipment, and training professions.

Leveling Up Tips

The leveling journey of MoP Classic is enjoyable, and players with plenty of time don’t mind enjoying the process, but for players who don’t have much time to play the game every week, they need a fast leveling strategy to avoid falling behind other players too much.

1. Don’t Need To Spam Dungeons Early

Dungeons can provide players with a lot of EXP, and some players choose to farm the same dungeon repeatedly. But you don’t need to do this until you have completed the main quest. This doesn’t mean you don’t need to farm dungeons, but you only need to clear most dungeons once.

By the way, when you are doing quests in Cataclysm Revamp area, you can encounter rare monsters, which will provide you with many EXP and rare items. Don’t miss them when you meet them, but you don’t need to look for them specifically, as their probability of appearing is not high. If you are interested in them, you can find their specific locations on some websites.

2. Training Mounts

If you want to complete quests faster, you need to train your mounts. Different levels of riding can bring you different speeds.

  • At level 20: 60% speed
  • At level 40: 100% speed
  • At level 60: 150% speed and can fly in the old world and Cata area
  • At level 70: Unlock professional riding, 280% speed

Training mounts requires many MoP Classic gold, but it is necessary. Even if you don’t level up, you have to do this for a better quality of life.

3. Darkmoon Island

Darkmoon Island is available every two weeks in MoP Classic. During its development, you can return to your home city and talk to Darkmoon Mage in the city. He will teleport you to Darkmoon Island, where you can find a panda named Kae Ti. Talk to her and unlock the carousel ticket by using gold.

After you ride the carousel, you will get a 10% Exp bonus, which lasts for about an hour. Once you die, this bonus will disappear, and you have to return here to reset it.

4. Choose The Right Zone

Both Alliance and Horde players level up very quickly from 1 to 10. If you focus on the main quest, you will level up at almost the same speed. If you want to level up in this area, the best area for Alliance players is Elwynn Forest, and the best area for Horde players is Tirisfal Glades.

If you want to rely on the main quest to improve your progress, the best area should be Silverpine Forest. Horde players can come to this area. The main quest here is quite linear. Although there are some unskippable cut-scenes, you can get plenty of EXP when you complete this area.

For Alliance players, Westfall and Loch Modan are some good leveling areas, and different races have the best choices.

5. Level 85 To 90

Leveling from 85 to 90 is a long process, and it is recommended that you farm in new areas. Here are the levels you should be at in each area:

  • The Jade Forest (85–86)
  • Valley of the Four Winds (86–87)
  • Krasarang Wilds (86–87)
  • Kun-Lai Summit (87–88)
  • Townlong Steppes (88–89)
  • Dread Wastes (89–90)

Leveling in WoW MoP Classic is probably the best time to take in the game. Don’t rush it, and you’ll have more fun if you go at your own pace.
