WoW Midnight Pre-Patch Healers Class Ranked | Find Your Ideal Playstyle Before It's Too Late!

Category: WoW Midnight Posted: Jan 31, 2026 Views: 1813

With the upcoming release of WoW Midnight expansion, players are once again facing the dilemma of choosing their main specialization. Whether tanking, healing, or DPS, selecting a suitable and enjoyable specialization will significantly impact the gaming experience.

This is especially important for players who enjoy playing healers, as healing classes primarily function in raids, requiring careful selection.

WoW Midnight Pre-Patch Healers Class Ranked | Find Your Ideal Playstyle Before It's Too Late!

Tier S

Discipline Priest

Discipline Priest revolutionizes the traditional healing gameplay that relies on scattered, passive healing. You can accumulate resources and then cast powerful shields to prevent teammates from dying; this proactive damage prevention mechanism provides a sense of accomplishment.

It somewhat returns to the classic feeling of early Discipline Priests providing shields to the raid, while retaining the characteristic of healing through damage dealt. The overall gameplay is very fun and strategic.

Of course, Discipline Priest is not perfect. Its mobility has always been a weakness, but this is a common issue with almost all Priest specializations and is unlikely to be changed in the short term. Furthermore, while Oracle raid build addresses some issues, its skill combo flexibility and operability are slightly reduced compared to the old version. However, its damage output feels good in the current WoW Midnight.

Holy Paladin

Holy Paladin's situation is quite controversial, and its gameplay is undergoing significant changes. A key factor is the talent called Divine Overload, which greatly enhances Holy Light's healing, even surpassing the core healing skills Holy Shock and Word of Glory.

However, Holy Light itself has many limitations; its cast time is relatively long, which may be a concern for many veteran players.

Holy Paladins possess powerful single-target support skills such as Hand of Sacrifice and Hand of Protection, and have a very comprehensive set of raid tools, but their burst healing is slightly lacking compared to other healers.

Regarding gameplay versatility, skills like Avenging Crusader are fun, but binding them to a single key with Crusader Strike can create key binding issues.

If the gameplay represented by Divine Overload becomes its core, then it will become a top choice for many players.

Holy Priest

Holy Priest's gameplay is relatively straightforward, relying on managing cooldowns to gain more opportunities for Prayer of Healing. When you get tired of the complex mechanics of Discipline Priest, switching to Holy Priest and enjoying its simple and direct gameplay can be a good change.

Holy Priest's weaknesses also stem from its poor mobility and lack of passive damage-to-heal conversion abilities like Discipline Priest to compensate for healing gaps while moving.

While it has Prayer of Healing, its effectiveness is not comparable. More importantly, Heal and Greater Heal are no longer the core of Holy Priest; it focuses more on Prayer of Healing and HoT (Holy Tempo) healing, which is a significant departure from the classic gameplay.

Restoration Druid

Restoration Druid performs strongly in the current version and may become a dominant healer in Midnight.

Restoration Druid boasts top-tier raid cooldown abilities in the game, such as Tranquility, Incarnation: Tree of Life, and Convoke the Spirits. Its gameplay requires players to pre-place HoTs like Rejuvenation, anticipate incoming damage, and unleash healing at crucial moments.

Furthermore, Restoration Druid possesses excellent mobility and can gain significant survivability by transforming into bear form (although teammates cannot be healed during this form). With proper HoT pre-placement, Restoration Druid can even switch to cheetah form for considerable damage output, making it very versatile.

Tier A

Restoration Shaman

Restoration Shaman is a promising choice among healing specializations. The development team has put considerable effort into this specialization. Despite some skill simplifications in the past, they recently brought back the classic Unleash Life ability, and the newly added Healing Stream Totem is also performing well. Combined with recent buffs, the future of Restoration Shaman looks very bright.

Restoration Shaman's greatest strength lies in its powerful team utility. It possesses a variety of functional totems that provide irreplaceable support to the team. Furthermore, it passively increases the entire team's maximum health by 10% through Ancestral Vigor and provides damage-boosting buffs like Skyfury totem. This makes the entire team much more resilient with Restoration Shaman's assistance.

However, Restoration Shaman also has some weaknesses. Its healing sometimes relies on random critical hits and lacks active damage reduction abilities like Paladin's Hand of Sacrifice or Priest's Power Word: Barrier. Its defense is primarily reflected in passively improving the team's survivability.

Overall, Restoration Shaman is a relatively easy-to-play healer with significant team contributions, making it very suitable for novice healers and capable of becoming a mainstay of the team.

Preservation Evoker

Preservation Evoker is a uniquely designed and highly promising healing specialization. Its skill mechanics, resource rotation, and reward feedback are exceptionally well-designed, providing a satisfying and rhythmic healing experience.

It boasts impressive and effective abilities like Echo, Emerald Blossom, and the powerful team-wide cooldown removal Rewind. Its gameplay leans more towards burst healing than many traditional healers, feeling more agile.

However, Preservation Evoker also inherits the common weakness of Evoker class: an extremely short effective range, which poses a significant challenge in situations requiring precise team positioning.

Its core healing ability, Dream Breath, is a short-range, cone-shaped area-of-effect skill, often requiring healers to constantly reposition themselves to cover scattered teammates, resulting in a low margin for error.

Tier B

Mistweaver Monk

Mistweaver Monk is a true melee healing specialization, but it's not currently recommended due to its extremely confusing specialization design.

Unlike other streamlined specializations, Mistweaver Monk's talent tree appears disorganized, mixing melee and ranged healing talents together, making it difficult for players to discern a clear core gameplay path.

You can't clearly determine whether choosing a particular talent enhances melee DPS and healing, or strengthens ranged Renewing Mist. This abstract and counterintuitive design makes it difficult for players to understand healing sources and how to optimize, often leading them to simply copy other players' builds.

Furthermore, Mistweaver Monk requires frequent switching between melee DPS and ranged healing, a hybrid playstyle that isn't universally appealing. Its mana consumption can also be rapid, requiring players to master Mana Tea.

Ultimately, the choice should be based on your preferred playstyle, rather than simply the strength of Pre-patch, as the gameplay may change significantly after the official release.

Healing classes also need gear to be effective in raids, but they struggle to solo dungeons or speed-farm open-world mobs like DPS classes. So why not buy fast and safe WoW gold from IGGM? This will help you quickly catch up with other players.
